Indeed really crazy asking you to enter all that info in free text over the toobs.
Revolut site admins, if you're watching, https://letsencrypt.org offers you free certificates if money is tight.
you never ever owned crypto in Revolut
what you had was an application saying you have crypto, when in fact you had the value of it presented to you. owning crypto means you have access to the wallet, and can send that crypto to who ever you want when you want.
what you should do today is register yourself in a crypto exchange such as Binance, and then once you are set up there : "sell" your crypto on revolut, wire the fiat to Binance, buy BTC with it, and move that BTC to your OWN wallet such as electrum.org
that will solve your worries.. and at last you will actually own crypto
What happens if Revolut freezes the transaction and holds it for several weeks or months? Is saving a few Euros worth that risk? I'd strongly recommend to use a real bank or Wise instead.
I've used Wise (formerly Transferwise) a few times. Exchange rate spread/fee depends on the amount you transfer, but if you're sending something like $1000 you can get slightly below 0.5%. For small amounts, the rate isn't very good.
Huge disclaimer though: I can't vouch in any way for how reliable Wise is. They could be even worse than Revolut, I don't know.
And Wise explicitly doesn't allow transfers related to cryptocurrencies in any way. From their Acceptable use policy, "Unsupported businesses and transactions":
>Companies involved in the exchange or trading of cryptocurrencies, or any other virtual currencies.
Including payments for the purpose of purchasing cryptocurrencies.
I didn't read that part, and tried to make a transfer to Binance. They blocked the payment and gave me warning.
That's really strange, what county are you in? You might be able to change your Google play profile country temporarily or you can just download the Revolut APK https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/revolut-ltd/revolut-better-than-your-bank/revolut-better-than-your-bank-5-7-release/
"Because that would be tipping off, which is llegal."? That is literally one of the stupidest comments I have ever seen on reddit in years.
What is illegal about it?
You are absolutely 100% completely wrong. They can close accounts for any reason and not provide clients a reason.
They could have AI that detects certain activity or purchases and then terminates accounts for any reason they deem fit. There are 10,000+ reports on Trustpilot.com alone with the majority of them complaining about the same thing happening to them.
https://www.trustpilot.com/review/www.revolut.com?stars=1
Revolut has done to this to more clients than any other FinnTech in the world according to the UK Financial Umbudsman Service.
You are an absolute idiot with your comments. Seriously, where these absolute morons come from is beyond me..
How about you read these 10,000+ complaints by people that rated 1 of 5 stars in regards to REVOLUT. THOUSANDS of them are from people that have had their accounts randomly blocked. And this is simply ONE random review site on the Internet.
Here's another case where a Revolut account got hacked and the hacker(s) kept withdrawing money from the account resulting in a negative balance, which Revolut demands the customer to pay...
https://www.trustpilot.com/review/www.revolut.com?stars=1
Is the Revolut account so easy to get hacked?
They could be Apple for all I care, it took them several updates to make the toggles less confusing (including the description & toggle being reversed compared to the toggle title) and not even their own support employees understood it, to the point of repeatedly tweeting out wrong information and subsequently deleting those tweets. It's better now than it was before, but this whole process was unnecessary. Screenshot of the original conflicting toggle.
The paragraph quoted from the article starts by pointing out that a DPC that's not even the authority Revolut registered itself under is concerned about the changes made to the privacy policy. That is troubling.
Revolut needs to treat this as it should be: opt in. And users shouldn't need a tutorial to find out how to disable it.
Your parent already signed you up, in order to order your card.
You should have been able to use the "<18" app all along, no card activation required
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.revolut.junior
well if you’re in Greece and you want to use cash to top up, I suggest you to open N26 account. it allows you to top up cash at Bazaar supermarkets via Cash26. more info here maybe not the quickest solution but in case you need it in the future.
This is where you use Transferwise aka wise.com for.
Sure, you still need to verify your identity with them, but these sums are a no-brainer for them. Transfered k's of euros with them, and even business transfers with double the size of your payment went through just fine after verification.
Eventuelly your money will be frozen on the first transfer, but support ist very fast and you can literally verify your account instant. First time I moved some thousands with them, they verified me within 10min, and a day later the recipient received the money.
Thank you for the response. I'm sending the money to the brokerage account following the instructions on the website.

In the 'Reference' section on Revolut, I add 'Full Name, Account-Number' Can you confirm these are the number you use too?
Is Revolut still blocking payments to/from crypto exchanges?
N26 works well for me but it'd be nice to diversify and spread out withdrawals to multiple accounts.
https://n26.com/r/tomnicog9349 feel free to use my referral link for n26 - you get eur50 and so do I :)
Don't use Transferwise as others suggested, they are bad too. They deactivated my account and still have my funds from my Borderless account 63 days later with no communication to me. They have hardly any presence on Reddit because they don't like negative posts. Check out all the negative reviews on them mixed in with the fake positive ones on Google Playstore or their UK trustpilot reviews https://www.trustpilot.com/review/www.transferwise.uk
I would recommend you to just get Charles Schwab account with their Visa card. They don't charge you for account, they don't charge you for foreign transactions (currency rate in some cases would be even better then revolut) and they refund you all fees imposed by ATM. https://www.schwab.com/public/schwab/banking_lending/savings_account
Revolut is not a bank. They have a banking license but they’re currently only using it in Lithuania. Since you live in Greece and want a bank account I suggest you take a look at N26. They are a German mobile bank and your money is insured up to 100k€ in case they go bust which they are not going to in the foreseeable future.
Thank you so much for your insight.
I'm already preparing myself to have to use Wire and deal with the fees. I'm using this simulator from their website (https://wise.com/gb/pricing/receive?source=USD&target=USD&payInMethod=RECEIVE_BANK_TRANSFER&sourceAmount=5000) . Based on your experience, can you please check if these numbers look correct to you?
For a scenario of me receiving 5000$:
Receive $ with ACH: 0 fee
Convert from $ to € (I believe inside Wise personal account): 20,91 (0 fix rate, 0.42% variable rate)
Send money in € to local Portuguese bank account: 0.28€ (fix rate)
Is this correct? And should Revolut be cheaper with the free subscription?
Thanks! My boss recommended Revolut given the live rate and the fees. Looking at wise.com they do take a small fee and the rate doesn't seem quite as good but maybe worth it for peace of mind.
Anyone tried currencies direct? They don't charge a fee but there must be some catch such as worse fx rates.
Ah yeah, you're right about the fees. It's a shame Wise doesn't have a premium product to compare with Revolut's.

But I do think you should be able to receive money from 3rd parties.
"Share these account details to your company, clients or friends, so they can send you money using them." https://wise.com/help/articles/2898124/how-do-i-receive-money
But of course I'm probably missing some detail again that you've already had experience with.
Thank you very much Hikas!
I cleaned the data, sorted them appropriately and put them to an .xlsx file for easier manipulation. For anyone interested, the file can be downloaded here: https://gofile.io/?c=08RMja
Wish you a happy new year!
It can take up to 9 weeks to complete the review. The time period is due to AML regulation. It’s not something that Revolut decides.
If you check Monzo’s trustpilot page here , you will see that lots of Monzo customers are complaining about the frozen accounts and the 9-week period to return funds.
Hopefully this is what you mean...
Robin Hood is a stock market app with no trading fees and a simple interface. It has been very successful in the USA. I would like to talk a lot about the importance of this business model in todays economic climate, but basically, asset trading is how the world works today and the working class should be taking part in it from teaching at the junior school level. Anyway, RobinHood is not perfect, but it is more easily accessible by a younger and humbler demographic.
Sadly, despite various promises, it is not available in Europe.
Revolut plans to lead the fee-less stock trading market in Europe and I hope they follow the values of what this kind of business model stands for.
There is also N26 which is similar to Revolut in many ways. And the they are covered by the bank gurantee.
It's not as easy to top up and get money onto to your account compared to Revolut but it might be worth a look.
N26 is the solution! Similar conditions although IT IS A REAL BANK not a company that processes payments!!
Based in Germany and with deposits protection like any other bank operating under BCE rules, What can you ask for more!! :D
Check this out https://n26.com/en-eu/
Hi. If anyone's still considering of getting an extra account (at least that's why I'm using it), I'd highly recommend N26. The app's great and I havent had 1 problem with the card or banking in 1 year of usage.

And if you're opening the account, you can use my link and get 10€ sign up bonus :) https://n26.com/r/kajac7741

Do feel free to ask me any further questions, but I have nothing bad to say about the bank.
to drive the point further. OP's bank is in Azerbaijan, they don't use euro. The fact OP is trying to keep it as EUR and isn't using SEPA is already obvious that SWIFT is the only way. Support by the fact probably wise doesnt support AZN bank transfer. If this was NZD or AUD which I am familiar with, yes wise has bank withdrawal that uses those local protocols.
Yes pennies though with worse rates and with my metal account it ends up that my free swift only charges me 15 nzd compared to worse exchange rates and a 5 nzd fee.
https://wise.com/help/articles/2553074/paying-by-swift
Wise isnt omnipotent. Quit the simp.
I looked up the website, and it sounds pretty good, but not sure how it compares to Monzo. Need to find out which offer multiple cards per account.
Selam bro,
I literal tried it but depending on your bank its never ending hassle. Best is to go with wise.com Than you can do whatever. I also used an extra credit cart that my family used. They just sent my Turkish account and I used it abroad as a credit card... solves much quicker.
I think I'm a bit too late for the party but if anyone else is looking for a free card here's the code from me: https://revolut.com/r/pawemms7 Similar to other posters in this thread if 5 people sign up from that I get 1 year metal so any help is appreciated :D
Free revolut card (instead of 5-6 GBP shipping fee), use the referral link: https://revolut.com/r/stepha2wc
Basic Revolut card gives you, (the no commission exchange rate is the best perk really):
Enjoy!

If the above links doesn't work I got a referral code that gives a free card as well.
If 5 ppl sign up before the end of the 18th I get a years free Metal subscription as well..
Hey if you want your Revolut card for free when you sign up you can use my link: https://revolut.com/r/davidul2
It is actually a lifesaver, we always use it when travelling, one person pays then just everyone can revolut each other to cover it.
If you are looking to get Revolut, you can get a free card using this link. If 5 people join, I'll get an upgrade to their premium service! https://revolut.com/r/maxz31t
you can use my promo code for a free card. It only works for new accounts so you would have to close the old and make a new (or with another number I guess).
Good news: "Revolut Crypto will be getting not one, but two new currencies added to the existing lineup. We're extremely proud to announce that we will be adding Ripple (XRP) and Bitcoin Cash (BCH), alongside the current Bitcoin (BTC), Litecoin (LTC) and Ether (ETH)."
Just googled: Seems like you're able use any name with privacy.com too.
(Haven't found anything concerning this on their official site yet. This just seems to be from one of their users.)
then the new version for android is not yet out. just be a bit patient. I have an iphone and got the newest version recently

scroll down and you will see that the latest version is indeed 7.24 so they will release a new one soon : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.revolut.revolut&hl=en&gl=US
I've published an Android version that parses the PDFs and let's you export them in a CSV format that you can import in Yahoo Finance (with dates, number of shares and everything)

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dev.teodor.statemento
I've just published the Android version - I think it'll take a while until it gets propagated through the servers.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dev.teodor.statemento
I hope it saves you some time
If your device have lost the safetynet the bank apps they will not work. You can check if your device still have the safetynet with this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.guenthers.safetynet
That's strange.
Do a few things:
If your issue persists, contact Revolut about it, followed by PayPal and Google Pay asking to check your account status. Maybe try re-adding your bank account as well.
Maybe they changed minimal Android version. Can you see https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.revolut.revolut in your phone?
