I haven't seen discussions about the Curve app (https://www.curve.app/en/) before. There is an article about it here: https://techcrunch.com/2019/01/28/curve-amex/
Looks like you can double dip on some rewards which could be interesting. I like the idea that you can switch cards up to 14 days in case you make a mistake.
This essentially allows for all European (EEA) bank customers to have Apple Pay. Curve is a “middle man” and differ to Revolut in the way that you don’t keep money on Curve. When you make a purchase, it automatically charges your “real” card. Think something similar to making purchases via PayPal.
If you want to sign up and get free £5 (I’ll also get £5), then here’s my link: https://www.curve.app/join#QNBJ5VPD
Without referral: https://www.curve.app/
P.s. You will be able to add Apple Pay after the physical card arrives in a few days.
Probably not, but completely depends what payment methods that your landlord will accept.
I used to live in an association block that took debit cards, using Curve I could have paid with a credit card, but they have said they will charge fees for Amex. Billhop is another potential option, again with fees.
Different operating system to Google's so I doubt it will happen.
If you're UK based then you can get a card from Curve. It links to your bank's debit/credit card and allows you to use it on both Samsung and Google Pay.
I'm a NatWest customer and Samsung Pay doesn't work with their cards. So I got a card from here https://www.curve.app/en-gb/ and it's linked to my NatWest debit card. So now I can use Samsung Pay on my S10 and Galaxy Watch
You can use Garmin Pay in the UK by signing up for a Curve card (https://www.curve.app/en-gb/) - it's free and effectively acts as a proxy debit card for your current credit/debit cards. I signed up a couple of weeks ago and it works a treat.
Also did you actually read the ToS or just click agree?

It's on this page. Scroll down to Amex with Curve.
Curve Blue costs 0.65% on all top-ups. With Curve Black you get £1k/month free before the charge applies, but you have a £9.99/month fee. There's no charge for Amex with Curve Metal, but then there's a £14.99 monthly fee.
The only real reason why I'd want to get Curve would be to use Amex where it's not currently accepted so I can get my cashback, but this charge means that I'm better off not bothering.
Not sure if available where you are but great cards to use are things like Monzo, Curve and Revolut. No transaction fees, the exchange rate is same as Mastercard, super easy to top up and withdraw. Can even withdraw the foreign currency from an ATM after loading your card - still no fees! Used this in the US and in Italy and it was a huge money saver. My credit card charges 3% on every purchase and I've been travelling for a few months so.. that would've really added up.

Great post! I love Curve because I get cash back from shopping at my favourite retailers like Amazon, Boots and Newlook. It also allows me to link up all my cards in one place.
Heres my Ref
Or use code: D6AK8XJE
Even better get a Curve card and link all your cards through this.
It works with Google pay and Apple pay is coming soon.
Stay away from Revolut. They're shady as shit. Way to many accounts get froze and they don't have a full proper banking licence. So if they go tits up your money is gone.
Anyone wanting to sign up to Curve PM me and I'll give you a €5 code to start with. I'm not a shill I just love this service.
You’re welcome, you can also add your Tide card to Curve. And make payments with your Curve card via Tide. This comes in handy for companies that do not accept prepaid cards as the Tide card is a prepaid card, whereas curve is a real debit card. If you don’t have Curve already you can download it hear and get yourself an easy £5 if use code DX22Q49N https://www.curve.app/join#DX22Q49N
I got a card from Curve as my bank here in the UK "NatWest" didn't support Samsung Pay, only Google Pay. It just links your current banks card to their card. It's worth a look to see if they, or someone else can offer you something similar in your country.
Sorry to be completely not helpful but a similar thing happened to me recently and I am with Curve ( https://www.curve.app/en-gb/ ) and to be honest, they were more helpful than my bank has been in the past. I reported it to them and said the transactions were not mine and I was in the UK and they refunded me the money within a few hours and told me they would deal with it and had nothing to worry about.
My back doesn't support Samsung Pay. However I got myself a card from Curve "it links to your normal back card and works on both Google and Samsung Pay"
Have a look here:
It works great for me.
Curve is a great app to keep all my cards in one + a great way to save & manage money.
Sign up using the Ref Link or with code D84X989E & get £5
In order to receive the money, you will have to do the following:
Sign up using the URL above
Use the code when asked for
Order a physical card from Curve
Once the card arrives, link all your cards in the app
Make a first transaction with the curve credit card
This currently works only in UK/EU.
You will get £5 in UK or €5 in EU depending on the address where you get the card delivered.
Contactless workaround: https://www.curve.app/en-gb/
It’s an app that comes with a MasterCard debit, that simply bills to any one of your credit/debit card(s) that can be selected in the app.
It has some basic budgeting tools built in and includes an introductory cash back in offer.
I use it to get contactless on my aqua card and so I don’t have to carry as many cards around in my wallet.
Amex not supported.
I like using Curve as I get to select my 3 favourite retailers to receive cash back from. This can also be stacked with other cash back sites like topcashback, Quidco etc..
Find a list of the retailers you can choose from Here
I chose Amazon, Boots and Newlook.. What would you choose?

a different route if you want to maintain funds in a euro account and avoid too much conversion loss: when i moved earlier this year i only brought a tiny amount of yen. instead, i kept a uk current account (plus various credit cards) and just paid for everything from those accounts/ccs via my curve card. zero fx fees, great conversion rates (better than revolut according to my friend who switched to this method after a while), no atm withdrawal charges, when you pay it gives you a real-time notification with the amount in yen and your 'home' currency, and the time travel function is AMAZING.
don't want to shill it too much here to avoid coming across as too much of a fan, but i love it and have no complaints. you can get it in most EU countries too ( : if you do wanna sign up, use SFKYV to get some extra $$!
Haha, yeah GBP is definitely not the best currency to use!
TransferWise is definitely a solution, but my situation is slightly different, I'm only wishing to spend money in NZD / GBP, I'm not needing to take my NZD elsewhere.
There's a card that's open to EU Residents which solved this issue for me.
The curve card acts as an intermediary by allowing you to pay in local currency, and charge your NZD debit/credit card at the mastercard exchange rate without fees.
That sounds perfect for your visit!
Appreciate it mate, however I've found a solution that avoids all fees.

Gebührenfrei: fast Perfekt, aber ohne Cashback.
Amazon Prime Kreditkarte: mit Cashback, aber der Wechselkurs ist nicht perfekt und kostenlos nur für Amazon-Prime nutzer.

Aber: man kann Curve zusammen mit Amazon KK nutzen: dann Curve Wechselt die Währungen mit perfektem Kurs, und Amazon KK gibt Cashback;
No, but for purchases under £100 (i.e. most day to day spend) this wouldn't matter - although you'd have to decide who you might trust more to do a chargeback. Curve describes their own protection here.
I don't really use my Curve card as my day-to-day card is an Amex, but it's an option that some might like.
Order a Curve Card and add your Visa card there if you'd like to withdraw lower amounts without a fee.
That's the workaround I use in similar setup (Visa, but from a different bank).
Order a Curve Card and add your Visa card there if you'd like to withdraw lower amounts without a fee.
That's the work around I use in similiar setup (Visa, but from a different bank).
Pessoalmente tenho conta ctt e nunca tive qualquer problema.
Para uso estrangeiro recomendo o revolut. Mas se estiveres preocupado devido à polémica do Revolut e do IRS usa o https://www.curve.app/en/
As far as I know it's not possible, if it were then I'd be doing it also.
There may be a possible workaround; a company called Curve are introducing a card which you can top up with a credit card and spend like a debit card, however they are currently in legal proceedings with Amex who are trying to block it. Worth keeping an eye on however.
N26 uses the MasterCard exchange rate. Curve mentions interbank rate on https://www.curve.app/en/comparison. These may be different, but which one is better, I cannot tell.
Their free plans both have different restrictions. Curve has free withdrawals up to £200/month (N26: 1.6% regardless of the amount), but also has a limit of £500/month on fee-free card payments, which N26 doesn't.
All of this becomes fee-free regardless once you use the black card from either N26 or Curve.
As an alternative to the usual suspects, you might take a look at Curve. It's essentially a 'proxy' card which forwards the transaction on to one of your existing cards (you can add them all to your Curve account). The benefit is that they take the hit for foreign transactions, so it appears on your actual card as a GBP transaction. You get the inter-bank rate, so ideal for travel. Just be aware that the free card has a £200 limit on free ATM withdrawals (after which you're charged £2, or 2%), and the premium card has a £500 limit.
They used to have AMEX support (which was great, because it's a Mastercard, so you could use it wherever your AMEX wasn't supported and get double points), however they scrapped that, which is a shame.
If you don't mind setting up a pre-paid card, or a new account, the other options already mentioned are probably better.
Starting a budget is a good way, you can do this with an app (like YNAB) or with a spreadsheet. Just tot up what you need where and take away your spending in each category.
A lot of people like budgeting apps/cards too. Lots of students use Monzo, which as has been mentioned has the pots feature, you can transfer your "spending" money over to there and it has a lot of budgeting features. Also check out Curve, there's a £5 bonus if you get referred by someone, and it offers many of the same spending tracking features whilst using your existing debit cards instead of a whole new account.
I see you have the Santander account, if you want to separate some money off you can open their regular saver which pays 3% interest, you can put up to £200/month in and withdraw it whenever you like. There's also a "savings goals" feature in online banking, I've never tried it but it's worth trying out!
Not sure what advice to offer on which credit card. If you are planning to pay off appropriately the benefits that suit you will be down to your opinion e.g the Frequent flyer benefits.

My only bit of advise would be to get 2 credit cards, one for personal and one for business. Makes it far easiest to manage and keep expenses seperate.
You could look at something like https://www.curve.app/ to help with that aswell as you can just carry the one card and choose which account to debit a purchase from. I recently started using it and found it very useful especially the ability to change the account you debited something from for up to 10 days after purchase.
The fee is baked into the cost so you're not seeing it. It's only 0.5% on USD or EUR, but a hefty 1.5% on other currencies - see this page. My bad - it's £500/month, 2% after that. £200/month ATMs.
The thing is they use the interbank rate at the time of purchase, which is slightly better than the MasterCard rate, so you're better off during the week. Most cards, including fee-free ones like Monzo, Starling, Tandem and others will charge the rate a few days later when the money is actually taken by the retailer, so there's a currency risk with both.
These are their Amex beta terms which outline the fees, could all change though...
I'm using /r/curvecard ~~@~~<strong>imaginecurve</strong>! This is an english card provider that charges through any card you add to it. Sign up with my code JNQMA8WD & get £5
This way you can have an "english" card and still pay with whatever card you like to use.
