Joined the club today for a cool $55 from Jomashop, plus a new strap with a butterfly clasp from Amazon - $67 all-in. Still amazed that this is an all-Japanese automatic movement for such a great price. Including more pics for the people: full album
Just put mine on this one and I'm so far loving it

Zooming in the photo the model number is 7S26-06R4, and some Googling I think it's the SNKL41
Seiko 5 #SNKL41 Men's Stainless Steel Silver Dial (Amazon) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008EWSA6W/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_FAKjAbM26DR8V
It's probably the jubilee bracelet that comes on SXK007's. I believe the part number is 44G1JZ and it sells for $30 new on Amazon:
* https://www.amazon.com/SEIKO-44G1JZ-Bracelrt-Classic-Bracelet/dp/B01D93AUYK
Edit: I take that back. The SKX is 22mm and the sarb is 20mm. I'll leave the link up for posterity. I'm sure there is some 20mm Seiko equivalent to that.
Yup, i swam in it and showered and got it wet and beat up at work. It took a lot of abuse and never got water in it.
I also opened it several times to regulate it. It was wildly innacurate, losing about a minute a day. You can watch a YouTube video on how to regulate it, and buy a watch tool kit for like 8$ on Amazon. It actually just started to die on me a couple weeks ago. It no longer holds a power reserve. I will get it serviced.
Automatic watches are sweet from an engineering standpoint, have their own kind of soul, and I love the idea of wearing a mechanical device in this day and age.
But really, quartz are better for telling time in a "set it and forget it" way. I will probably get flamed for saying that. There are some really attractive solar power watches by Seiko and Citizen, and Casio for that matter I just bought a solar and atomic Casio 5600, which for $95 is a wicked value. This one by citizen was a tossup when i bought the Seiko 5, but was almost twice the price at the time and I was poor. It's the same size, gorgeous build quality, and solar powered:

Here is the one I bought, which was about 55$ when I got it. It comes in several different dial colors, and the straps are garbage:

Good luck mate!

I bought it on Amazon. It's a CIVO.
i got it from the seiko dealership for about 70 usd but it has the seiko branding and it doesn't have the clasp with two buttons that click. i've found it on amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/Seiko-Jubilee-Style-22mm-Stainless-Steel/dp/B000P6AUGI
Hello. I bought mine back in February off Amazon (shipped from and sold by Amazon), for $422 total. It's currently, $425 now Sarb From what I've researched, if you buy from Amazon, making sure it says (sold by and shipped by Amazon ) will provide you with legit new product with box and warranty paper.
I tracked the price for a while and the lowest it got was around 330-350 I think. I haven't seen it go to this price lately though.
Looks like the white/cream dial has been cheaper around $340.
If you can swing the extra money, this price is not bad.
Just a warning, these aren't Seiko's but...
Citizen eco drive chrono, 39 mm, casual, lug width is 21 or 20 mm not sure
Then the BM-8180 - 37mm citizen eco drive military style watch. I own this watch, but a bit small for my taste in a non dress watch (7 inch wrist). Plus the lug width is 18mm, also a bit narrow. A popular watch however that might fit your needs. I still wear it from time to time.
And before you all go bashing me saying this is a Seiko forum (I have since converted when I purchased my SKX007 after my BM8180), no one else has really given him anything so I figured I would throw some other suggestions in the hat. If you do a google image search for either model + nato (example being "BM8180 nato"), you will get some examples of the watch on nato straps. Either watch would work on a nato.
*edit - also let it be known both of these are quartz/solar watches. Not sure if you wanted it to be an automatic.
I have just one seiko. SPB143. And I just bought it cause I felt in love with the looks - all brushed, simple, it's my style. BUT
I have an Orient Kamasu. The Kamasu runs dead 0 seconds a day when I wear all the time. The seiko runs +6 seconds a day, not bad. But I felt that with the Orient I won the lottery. I feel I could wear the Kamasu all the time, without bracelet.
Look - Orient Kamasu first gen. Green - looks almost black, green only in sunlight. Change the bracelet for a barton strap or find this strap somewhere that fits pefectly, almost nobody knows this curved end strap.
Pray to win the lottery with accuracy, if not, learn how to adjust he watch with an app to read the accuracy. Done.
Yes sure, I live in pakistan and got it from my cousin in Abu Dhabi too! Here is the link brother
Do note that my cousin used his card which gave 10% off more on amazon so it came to 490 dirham, its 580 right now but i see another 10% offer so check that
i dont think the SRPJ45K1 ist limited.
if you still want one amazon UK has a couple of them left.
here is the link (no ref)

I got the 23mm "Brushed Finish Silver" strap.

firstly, most modern phones have a very sensitive magnetic sensor in them, I downloaded this one for my phone and was able to make an assessment on just how (if at all) magnetised it is.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appdevgenie.magnetometer
there are many others
not a bad place to start.
I would be careful with dematnetising (degaussing is the right word) as its possible to make things worse. Watch some videos but probably first thing is start with a tool to measure it.
Thank you, I appreciate the info!
Will the big tool with the triangle head do the job in this kit?
Or will this little guy work?
Also... a quick look at your profile leads me to belive that you know what you're talking about haha... could you recommend me an inexpensive tool kit that'll work for my Seiko Kinetic and Timex Expedition watches? (I just want to change batteries). I don't need/want anything super high end and expensive, but also don't want something that'll dull the blades of the screwdrivers the moment they touch a screw. Thanks!
I am going to purchase this kit to try the repair, does this look suitable?
Sorry to be asking such basic questions.
Not sure if this fits the bill, but I got one and it’s become the one I use daily. Comes with a long and short option - https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07B5S69N5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_H14XRKHFCHC5N5WAQA4Q?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Does this look to be it? I checked sn and it said 2011 ish
A bit under your budget but there is this sexy watch that went to the Moon :
I have heard from a Thai Authorised Dealer that the Sea Urchin will be discontinued - I don’t know about other models. Seiko is coming out with other non-divers’-styled watches with the new SEIKO 5 logo too: https://www.crunchyroll.com/en-gb/anime-news/2019/09/18/1000-limited-production-jojos-bizarre-adventure-golden-wind-collaboration-watches-go-on-sale-in-november
So I assume that all the old ones will be discontinued too.
I think it should be, but I recommend to download the torrents for them.
There are one on the Internet that you have to also apply a batch to correct the subtitles, that is the best one in terms of quality. As the movies rebuild the best ones are from the fansub team Thora (that is currently disbanded but the torrents are still active).
nyaa.si have all the torrents you need. And please see the original ones with subtitles in English and voice in Japanese.
These seemed to get a lot of funky dial finishes. I’d love to find a snowflake version in good condition but they’re rare in any variation. Mines a silver pattern. I do have a 9723 with some slight dial staining and the textured case and bracelet but it’s a fragile movement compared to the 9200.
On Amazon Canada the black dial version is 25% cheaper. https://www.amazon.ca/Seiko-SNK623-Stainless-Steel-Bracelet/dp/B001D6JIPS/ref=sr\_1\_1?keywords=SNK623&qid=1636242371&sr=8-1
If you like it because of the case with the integrated bracelet then go for it.
My thing with this watch is the movement. I also had a Seiko 5 with the same movement and for me it was a a nuisance. I did not like that it does not hack nor is it windable, which means you have to shake it to get it going, just be aware of that.
Me personally I would within the same price I would honestly rather buy a nice Seiko Chronograph like the https://www.amazon.ca/Seiko-SND365PC-imports-overseas-models/dp/B001KESANE/ref=sr\_1\_139?keywords=seiko+automatic&qid=1636242676&sr=8-139

It’s actually the OE strap for the seagull 1963 chrono, but I’m sure it’s just an off the shelf 18mm nylon nato strap. It’s surplus green and very similar if not identical to this: Archer Watch Straps - Classic Nylon NATO Straps | Choice of Color and Size (18mm, 20mm, 22mm, 24mm) https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07VB1CVT8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_ATGS267BJ1SHAM7Q7DFZ
This is the one i bought but there are load from different sellers with different colours too.
Either but a watch repair kit on Amazon, or just the pin removal device. They're pretty cheap and save so much hassle, especially on Seiko's annoying pins and collars/sleeves.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B06ZZQXPPG kind of thing.
SZSB line would be a good choice.
Japan Amazon is running some great prices on these.
That’s the 015. The SZSB014 is running even lower but it doesn’t seem to have the sunburst dial and lacks the daphne hands.
If you are living in North America, international shopping might cost you a bit along with customs, but the watch isn’t too much. I purchased a SARB in reverse and the customs and shipping wasn’t too bad.
SZSB line would be a good choice.

Did you think of Casio? I ended up getting this as well, easier to wear during sports.
My 009 was running 2 minutes fast every day. I got a demagnetizer on Amazon for $10. Since I demagged it a month ago it's only about 40 seconds fast.
Helpful video. https://youtu.be/tiHDsrnY83I
I think the Seiko 5 with the NATO strap would be a great watch for an interested kid.
It's casual and an automatic, and smaller at 37mm. $79.99 for the blue on Amazon:

I had the same dilemma and ended up getting the SGF204 because the SNXJ90 was just so much more expensive due to having been discontinued for a few years.
Pro: The SGF204 is very accurate owing to the battery-powered quartz movement. I can leave it on a shelf for several weeks at a time and it will be only a few seconds off from the atomic clock when I pick it up again, although I may have to advance the date by one day if the previous month only had 30 days.
Cons: The SGF204 does not have a substantial wrist presence because it is so much thinner than most watches that are powered by an automatic mechanical movement. It also has a relatively chintzy jubilee bracelet with hollow middle links. Another problem is that it has a standard battery-powered quartz movement, so you will eventually need to replace the battery once it runs down. Regarding the issue of wrist presence, you might want to consider trying it on an authorized dealer if you live near one to see if that will be a problem for you.
I don't know how much SNXJ90s are running at the moment, but you might want to consider this alternative DateJust homage from Orient, the President, which is currently $299 on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/President-Classic-Automatic-Sapphire-EV0J002W/dp/B01F78UZUO/ref=sr_1_7?keywords=orient+president&qid=1567891176&s=apparel&sr=1-7
I found this watch on Amazon almost by accident. I've always loved dials that have a subtle texture but never knew that Seiko has one of their own watches with this design. It comes stock with a jubilee inspired bracelet, but it's the same quality as all of the extremely cheap 5 series bracelets with folded links and almost impressively difficult adjustment pins. I happen to also have an SKX013 which I recently purchased a new bracelet for so I knew I would have to try out a better quality jubilee on my new little SNK357. I used the original end link which almost perfectly matches up to the jubilee from the SKX and in my opinion makes this a perfect watch for the amazing price of less than $100. I can't stop looking at the dial, it's so much nicer than I had imagined. I'm over the moon with this watch and I can honestly say I may never get rid of it.

Here is the amazon link if anyone is interested in checking it out themselves - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00E9K3JXW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Normally a solar battery when drained will need solar light to charge where you'll need to set the watch outside in direct sunlight. I can testify to leaving a watch on a window sill couldn't charge the watch in a week. I use this solar charger from Amazon and it works fantastic.
CoolFire Solar Watch Fast Charger (compatible with all kinds of eco solar watches) TC-1046 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ZOWJI7A/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_-Z3UDb93ARG7J
I've found success with the iStrap with deployant clasps on Amazon. They're pretty affordable and above average quality for both the leather and the clasp.
As far as color combos that may work for you, I suggest searching through the #snkl43 on Instagram for some ideas.
I believe I got it off Amazon. It's a Hadley-Roma Cordura strap. Here's a link: https://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Hadley-Roma-Stitched-MS850/dp/B00PLYQZSG/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=cordura+watch+strap&qid=1575260704&sr=8-3
You could use something like WWVB Emulator - Apps on Google Play to make sure the syncing works if you cant get it to sync from the skywave.
Sadly coil is shot. Going to look into making an external one. Also thought I'd share this app with you that lets you use your phone as the keyboard for the watch.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.azya.seiko.uc2000
I have one of these and I like it a lot. 40mm case, but lug to lug is just 44mm so it wears smaller. Good size for my 6.5-inch wrist. 100m water resistance and dive style, but without the dive bezel. Could be dressed up or down with Nato or leather. The ones on bracelets have a polished bezel, the ones on Natos have a brushed bezel.
I wouldn't buy from Monster watches if your tried to contact them & they haven't replied. If you are not a fan of metal bracelets & want to change the strap then I would buy this watch on a fabric strap, as they will be cheaper. In the UK Amazon seem to be a cheap source for this watch, on the blue fabric strap it can be had for £77.00, link below. Cheers
Closest I could find on amazon was SEIKO PROSPEX Great Blue Hole Special Edition Diver's 200m Automatic Watch SPB083J1 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HQXJDKP/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_dhJMEb0DF0DKZ
SPB083J1. I wonder if it’s the same?
I think you're right. There are two other colorways and this old listing for the light blue one says 40mm
As does this link for the black SRP467
The skx has curved endlinks, as some other users mentioned. The turtle has straight ones. I have a strapcode jubilee on my SRPA21 Padi turtle. Would highly recommend. It has solid end links which match the finishing on the watch very well. Here's the Amazon link: 22mm Super Jubilee 316L SS Watch Bracelet for Seiko New Turtles SRP777, V-Clasp Brushed https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01H0BPO7K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_GxBnEbDS7KEQ5
I think I bought it from Amazon, but in any case, it's a Hadley-Roma strap: https://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Hadley-Roma-Stitched-MS850/dp/B00PLYQZSG/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=cordura+watch+strap&qid=1575260704&sr=8-3
I have an SSB321 and am pretty happy with it. Picked it up a month or so ago, it was on sale and I stacked a bunch of coupons and discounts to get it under $90 USD. I like it. I have a few other Seiko watches as well.
What do you think about this?
Better than seiko for quality I think, almost same price
I like this style like datejust
I was looking to purchase this one
Take a look at a women's citizen eco-drive on Amazon, like this one.
Automatics are interesting, but they do need a lot more maintenance than quartz and are not as acurate.
An eco-drive movement just works, as long as it's not buried in a drawer..
This “swiss-army” style is the strap that stays on my SNK805 for about 75% of the time. It’s more interesting than a NATO IMHO, and I think it would look pretty good with your SNK803 too.
I love this one, reminds me of a citizen BU2055-08X. Nice watch
i know of the transocean but that will set you back about $3500 upwards.
there’s the SUN065 it’s a diver’s watch and has the shroud like the tunas
not sure if they are bi-directional, though. i would suspect not (it makes it dangerous on diver’s watches)
Honestly, I don't mean to be cocky here but how much effort goes into googling the model number and coming up with a seller on Amazon with a 98% favorable rating?
Seiko Astron GPS Solar SSE096J1 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01L06P0JS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_K2aTAbNGM6HE5
He possibly means that for the same money you could get a Seiko diver's watch with an automatic movement, and even Made in Japan, such as:
Seiko Divers Automatic Black/Blue Dial Black Rubber Mens Watch SKX009J1 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000RF6QT2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_IJ7FAb5N3NCAW
I bought both the watch and the strap at local store in SG, but it is similar to this one
Yes, the J version has 21 jewels written underneath Diver's 200m.
I got that one, but it had prime shipping before when I bought it
Thanks! It's easy to change a strap if you have one of those spring bar tools they sell for $6 on amazon.
Seiko sne329 $ 110.
Just outside Seiko, Orient Bambino (leather) - this is a great compromise between the two above options . (and sooo cheap) http://www.amazon.com/Orient-ER24005W-Bambino-Leather-Automatic/dp/B008VBUZ2I/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1439145914&sr=8-1&keywords=orient+bambino
This is certainly a Rolex and not a seiko, I would guess a submariner 16610.
You could possibly be mistaking it for SKX007j, but that would be a long shot.
http://www.amazon.com/Automatic-Divers-SKX007J1-SKX007J-SKX007/dp/B000RF6QRY
I did some searching on Amazon. Would this fit what you're looking for? I don't have any experience with the seller, but it has the end links included. Edit: It is 20mm as well.
What are some alternatives to Seiko in terms of quality and price? Are either Tissot or Stuhrling better because they're a Swiss company? Are either brands considered as "luxury" ?
also found this Stuhrling watch: http://www.amazon.ca/Stuhrling-Original-395-33B11-Aquadiver-Professional/dp/B007Z0BUY8/ref=sr_1_17?s=watch&ie=UTF8&qid=1427601429&sr=1-17&keywords=stuhrling+original
Better than the Seiko sgeg85?
I've gone through a few. Most of the ones the main shops sell are too short to get a proper tuck on the end.
Pretty much the only ones I have really liked have been Maratac Zulu straps. They are also one of the few that are long enough to tuck properly (I have 8" wrists) .
This particular one is unusual. It is a Zulu strap with NATO hardware on it. This version is now discontinued I believe.
I prefer the thickness of Zulu bands over thinner NATOs.
I get them straight from Maratac themselves.
This company on Amazon is the only other ones I have found that are as good as, and long as, Maratacs. They don't have many options though.
