Yeah, you can get away with even putting these in the wash. You can wrap them in a tied pillow case or preferably a mesh bag made for washing sneakers. Put the cycle on normal and put in a tide pod. Make sure to remove laces and inner sole (although I've left the sole in on accident with no issues). Don't put them in the dryer.

This should clean the fabric quite easily and most of the boost as well. These oil based paint markers do the trick. You can even fix some imperfections on the plastic part of the cage too if you're careful.

3. Thin Paint Brush
4. 13x19in Thick Paper Stock where you will print your messaging on, you can get this type of paper and print it @ FedExKinkos or a any print shop
5. Exacto out all the lettering to make a stencil
6. Double sided tape to tape your edges of paper on the mat for a steady hold.
7. Paint on mat
8. Touch up after stencil removal

and you got yourself a custom mat!

So someone posted these here about a month or so ago and I decided to order. They were like $30 on Aliexpress (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32664407619/32664407619.html?shortkey=FV3Qvuei&addresstype=600) and I thought why the hell not… Wearing them for the first time today and here are my thoughts:

Color: They are exactly as represented on the Aliexpress page. Love the red/blue knit mix.

Quality: Look, these are $30 Aliexpress jawnz so my expectations were low. That being said they’re not terrible. The fake flyknit/primeknit material is a little stiff, but might need to be broken in. It’s a lot more flyknit than primeknit. The only real quality thing is that the midsole isn’t completely clean and there are some jagged pieces from the mold. You can see it in the pictures. Probably could take some fine sandpaper and knock that right off tho.

Comfort: Now this is what you are probably all wondering about. And I’m sort of grading on a curve because $30 shoes. But honestly? Not bad. The knit upper is light and nice. When I first got them I was really worried about the sole because it was REALLY stiff/hard. But the insole is actually pretty good (plus I could swap it out if I really wanted to ball out on these) and the sole feels like it’s softening and breaking in. The sole looks A LOT like my Cole Haan lunargrand soles, but don’t have the same bounce. But not bad for $30. Overall, I like. I might cop the grey or black colors because these are cheap and not terrible. I actually already got a compliment on these red ones. Not bad at all.

Tried out u/brokeandfamous suggestion on how to whiten boost. I bought the kiwi whitener and applied the first coat on after cleaning the boost with a brush. That's basically my result after my first coat. I'm going to do 3 coats and I'm sure it'll look even whiter.

It still feels like the actual boost, like nothing was ever applied to it. It doesn't also look like I painted something on it.

Totally. First step was to design the shoes on the converse website. I did this because I wanted black rubber with white canvas, which isn't available on any other shoe. Then three weeks to ship.

I loosely followed the dying instructions. My process was pour 75% of the blue in a bucket with hot water, plus salt and dish detergent. I set the front end of both shoes in and let sit for 15 minutes. Then I raised the water level for a few more minutes to make it fade.

Then I attempted to do the same with the pink, but I started the water too high so the shoes ended up being mostly pink and purple, with some blue at the front.

I wasn't happy with that so I took my remaining blue dye and used a plastic comb to splatter the blue on the back end.

I let that dry then I did the same with a mix of bleach and water, but on the whole shoe to make it even more splotchy.

I think the only thing left to do is to get some water proofing spray.

When the super glue dries, it might be too hard and start to crack when you walk. You might want to try Barge Infinity Cement instead as it’ll be flexible when cured.

For toe boxes, I recommend a steam gun after packing the toe box tightly with socks. After that, use Angelus Shoe Stretch- soak the toe box and use a heat gun to dry it, repeat. That should take care of everything.

It may be a scam, but I'm pretty sure he's talking about a PayPal eCheck which takes money directly from the buyer's bank account and transfers it to your PayPal account, this usually takes around 5 days.

Asics has so many colorways that people underrate, they chase the fiegs but there's a LOT of dope colorways on the cheap end and the quality is still good. Honestly do an amazon search for gel lyte 3's or 5's and you can get some really dope colorways for sub $50. Including the one OP posted. If this colorway had like a fieg name or like woodwood attached to it these would be $300+.

Then you have a dope pair of shoes to rock knowing that it's no big deal if they get fucked up.

There already is an application for that. It's fairly reliable. It's called FittingRoom by Asphaltgold Sneakerstore. I've really only encountered this with Adidas shoes. They're horribly inconsistent. If I absolutely cannot get a consistent answer I'll go half size up. Worst case scenario I have to lace it slightly tighter. I'd never, ever go down unless I know 100% that it's a good idea.

Nah I just used the first black acrylic paint I found on Amazon and did 4 coats on the stripes and 2 in the hard to paint places (Like sides and insides, mostly out of laziness).

Crepe Protect is one of the most commonly-used protector sprays, so this would be put on to prevent dirt and stains, instead of post-dirt and stains. Here’s an amazon link: crepe protect

Jason Markk makes really good cleaning products for cleaning dirt and stains off, and even just regular magic erasers work well on soles. I’d definitely recommend some Crepe protect to put on before you wear them. I have some Off White Air Force one’s and my wife spilled a whole cup of coffee on them 2 days ago, and the coffee was able to just come right off. It’s a good investment.

Yea! Bought leather laces off amazon. Once laced through you have to cut off the excess and put on custom aglets unless you’re okay with having the excess in the shoe.

I used a canon 6d with a EF 24-20mm L lens. the 6d has built in wifi so I have been using the dslr controller app which gives me a live preview on my andriod phone where I can adjust all settings and take the photo. has made the whole process a lot easier. I have some other shots in my air max flickr album but liked this one the most

Sorry to hear, getting hacked sucks. I recommend using a password manager like LastPass or 1Password, so it automatically generates random passwords every time you create an account somewhere. Also worth taking the time to update all your current passwords so none of them are the same, that way if you get hacked it can't have any knock on effect.

Unity uses C# so if you ever need a hands-on approach to learning I would fire up Unity if I were you and watch some of the scripting oriented tutorials for Unity. A great one that I am currently working through is the procedural generation tutorial, it's a really great tutorial, nothing else compares to how much it has taught me. It also gives insight to some methods developers use when solving problems.

It should also help with Java too since they are both C based languages.

So, obviously shoes can go on sale anywhere. But Ultraboosts are a high demand sneaker, so if you see them on sale, it is likely a less popular colorway. Not ugly per se, just nothing limited or crazy expensive. But if it's your first pair, it's perfect for you - they're the most comfortable shoe ever, and many will agree. As I was saying, any store can have sales. Recently, I saw this link to Amazon with some colors as low as $120 in certain sizes, but now the lowest price seems to be like $150, and the rest are retail. Caliroots.com is my 2nd go to. I'm signed up for their email lists because they often have 40% off ALL boost shoes, but they go quick.

If you want style, I'd say Iniki or NMD. Personally I love Inikis, but NMDs are very popular, widely loved, and have hundreds of colorways to suit your taste. Ultimately if you just want style it all comes down to your choice and preference, but the general public will say NMD.

If you decide you want comfort, PureBoosts are the way to go. They're much more functional, a step down from Ultraboosts.

I use it sometimes and it works perfectly, only on all white sneakers though. Scrub gently with a white towel or a soft bristle brush, apply a little bit of this. Should come out!

they are just foggy as fuck. I have wiped them off before and they look ok but the fog is more fitting considering their age. these things are on their last leg so I'm just trying to get a few more wears out of them before they get retired. if you look close you can see the midsole is cracking around and in front of the air unit. and the sole is coming off too.

It's what /u/fplusk said, in regular light, snakeskin will be xeno and inbetween lines will be black, and that'll flip under light.

It doesn't make any sense to me anymore. Why does Nike allow this to happen? Why not manufacture more shoes and make the profit yourself? And besides, there are even wider-scoping issues than that. I feel like this track from the new Chance project could be applied to how I feel about the sneaker game now.

Edit - what's happening is your posts automatically and immediately go to the spam filter. From there, a mod has to approve it (which We all have been doing) for anyone to see it. Thing is, if you post links early morning, late night or whenever a mod isn't looking no one is gonna see your stuff. Since your links are obviously time sensitive it sucks. If I find a fix I'll let you know. I'm looking into it. This is Reddit, not the mods, doing this apparently.

Seriously though, try this..

Take laces out and soak in a mix of 1/4 bleach 1/4 dish soap and 1/2 water for 24/48 hrs then remove and scrub by hand and rinse under running water until white.

Use a soft brush and dish soap/water and scrub the shoes clean being careful around peeling parts. Let dry completely

use glue and try to glue down the peels so it doesn't look too bad.

Once their as clean as they will get, if possible, get some white shoe polish... I would use THIS for the soles and then I would use .THIS. for the uppers/rest of the shoe.

You can always repaint them too if you want. You can have them restored to DS condition if you want also.. It basically comes down to how much money you wanna spend.

Two things. Don’t listen to the “embrace the crease” people. They like to crease their shoes that’s okay but we don’t like creases so you do you. Second I use this sneaker shield from Amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07V368HN3?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share it’s cheap and does the job.
