This. If you're sweating, it's already too late. Everything will be sold out and you're driving to Seattle to buy a $20 box fan.
A few years and two houses ago, I splurged on a floor-standing AC unit to use as a backup. I've only had to use it twice, but man, did I ever need it those couple weeks. I moved my desk and the dog's bed to the bedroom and we lived in there.
I've had good luck at Nordstrom Rack or H&M. There's also Finders Keepers, Veda Lux, and Echo Boutique.
OR there's always Amazon - sounds crazy but check out this dress in particular: MissMay Women's Vintage Floral Lace Long Sleeve Boat Neck Cocktail Formal Swing Dress Black Large https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MRPYLEI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_3F7RBb0RTV7XM
A friend of mine had all her bridesmaids wear it and it was adorable - for 20 bucks!
> I've connected with some outdoorsy types, but they tend to flake on us, or already have their outdoor activity partners figured out
Have you tried Meetup.com? There's an excellent hiking group on there that also does snowshoeing and even paddling. They don't flake at all. I've heard great things about the Mountaineer group, as well. I've done a few things with the Fun Times and Social Adventurers groups, too. I've got a few really solid friends from each.

I moved from downtown DC and my wife and I promptly had two kids as soon as we arrived. I think there's something in the water here. In any case, the closest friends we've made happen to have kids around the same age as ours. They go to school together or they live nearby. There's something liberating about watching the kids play while us moms and dads destroy a bottle of wine and barbecue a poor, dead animal. I'm not saying have a kid (unless that's your thing, I don't judge), but I'm definitely saying that you'll meet people when you host at your place, when you do activities with like minded people, and when you cook some shit and drink booze together.
If you have a small fan, put ice in front of it at night. It cools you down enough to sleep.
I also highly recommend an oscillating swamp cooler. My wife and I got one this summer and it's indispensable.
https://teespring.com/stores/inland-clothing-company
that should take you to their store. kinda nice to see something for the INW rather than the constant PNW stuff imo
BTW, you can listen to the SPD (and fire and sheriff) radio traffic with this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.scannerradio&hl=en_US&gl=US
or this website:
https://www.broadcastify.com/listen/ctid/2989
I'm not affiliated with either, but I do use the app.
How long are you looking for? There are some short, kid-friendly trails at Bowl & Pitcher, one of which the majority is along the river.
Also, I'd recommend checking out the AllTrails app ( Android | iOS ). Map search, ability to make lists and save trails, and great filters. Premium account allows you to download trail maps and some other bells & whistles, but functionality is great even if you don't spring for the paid version.
>oh, and a DISCLAIMER: Whatever photo you post here is officially property of r/Spokane . and by doing so, you are giving us the freedom to do whatever the heck we want with it. So please don't sue or report if we use your photo.
Wow, way to cast an unnecessarily wide net.
IANAL, but if I might make a modest suggestion:
>If your photo is chosen as one of the winning entries, you agree to grant to the moderators of /r/Spokane a perpetual non-exclusive license to reproduce said photo in any format and on any medium now known or hereafter devised, for the non-commercial purpose of promoting /r/Spokane.
Or something like that. Because if you insist on me giving up the IP rights to one of my photos in the hopes that I might win a contest that will reap me absolutely no rewards... Well, I'm certainly not going to enter.
Alternately, you may want people to agree that winning photos be used under a Creative Commons license. I suggest CC BY-NC.
The place you are looking for is Gordy's, my friend.
All dishes can be made vegan and it's a damn awesome place to go for a nice dinner. Reserve ahead of time as it will be busy. Gordy's is well-loved in Spokane.
Used to run the loop around Newman Lake. Was a fun drive for a strictly pavement car. Off road take the loop around Priest Lake. There you get the lake and the mountains. Or take the long trip down to Avery ID and up through the mountains to Wallace ID. Gravel roads and 4x4, novice.
Hello, I accidentally bought 4 of these Black and Decker fans on Amazon last week and I only need two. If you can’t find any for sale I’d sell you one or both of these at cost ($50). Can pick up from me on the south hill anytime today or could drop it off when I get off work around 5pm today. They are unopened and still in the box.
But you may be able to find some at stores, just DM me if your interested.
Not sure if you're into DIY but if the HDD isn't damaged, you can typically recover the data yourself by pulling the hard drive out of your laptop (can find guides online, or PM me for help) and hooking it up to a slave. I have a link to one below on Amazon. I don't know how much Friendly Computers costs but as a company, I know data recovery can be pretty costly. These are really easy to use. You simply plug in the old HDD into the slave, then the USB cable into another computer and it works just like an external drive. I've done this many times and can help walk your through it if you need or I can do it for you as well as it's a quick thing and I have a slave already. Have fun and sorry your laptop died.
I got this one from amazon and it works great. It's only $16. I've also found that I can pretty much put it anywhere and it works - it's currently sitting horizontally under the tv stand and the picture is great.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00X4RA74A
I get all the local channels, which look better than they did when i had comcast, plus PBS and a bunch of home shopping and religious tv.
I used to have a full package from Comcast, but it's been a year now since I cut it out and I haven't had a single day where i've missed it. I supplement with Netflix and subscribe to HBO Now when there's a show on I want to watch.
Amazon is good for that right now. Look for N95, N100, or P100. The "P" means it also works for some oil-based particulates and also some organic vapors, whereas N is just 'normal' particles. 3M is a good brand.
3M's website has an awesome search interface for finding what product will work for you, disposable or otherwise, though since this is becoming a yearly thing, I just invested in a reusable mask:
$25 - 3M Half facepiece reusable respirator
$15 - 2-pack 3M NIOSH-approved P100 particulate and organic gas filter
(post-apocalyptic Winco trip incoming)
The real secret is flavacol.
Amazon sells it in bulk, or you can get this stuff: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00M8HPGMU/
comes in different sizes. we use the 4oz ones with our stir crazy popcorn maker.
You can buy in bulk and get cheaper with just the popping corn, carton of flavacol, and the coconut popping corn oil, but its a little more work to measure it all out. YMMV.
You can get a room at Ruby 2 downtown on AirBnB for $60/night. I stayed there last year, its an older hotel they bought and refurbished. Not really fancy by any measure but it was clean and really close to stuff downtown (123 Post Street). Not far to a bunch of breweries, the park, public transit, etc.
I tried multiple antennas including the flat, Leaf antennas. They all worked okay but I was only getting about 6 channels.
I decided to build a quick DIY antenna I found online and now I get around 20 channels.
It may not be the prettiest but it works wonderfully.
Oh my, I didn't realize that Craigslist was charging. It's been a few months since I've posted. Here is the list of what types of ads are charged fees: https://www.craigslist.org/about/help/posting_fees
There have been lot's of reports of shadow people in Brownes. The story behind it is that the local Native Americans buried their mentally unstable in the area (never confirmed it though).
My anti vaxx sister sent me this garbage the other day. Now I'm convinced we're all going to die. /s
The FDA receives anecdotal reports of MSG symptoms: https://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/nutrition-and-healthy-eating/expert-answers/monosodium-glutamate/faq-20058196
I mean, it straight up says "However, we were never able to confirm that the MSG caused the reported effects." in the FDA link you provided.
People sit here and talk about how MSG will kill their kids then turn around and pump 16oz of fake sugar through the body. It's mind-bottling.
Anyway, it is just salt and is found naturally in very common food items that people eat. The MSG in Chinese or other Asian-fare has been an old wives tale for decades.
Have you been to Marie Creek? Its about an hour away from Sandpoint. A friend and I hit it last year towards fall and it was pretty nice. We got there fairly late and didn't do the full trail but enjoyed the scenery.
The real question is why is Microsoft trying to hide these green squares from us?!
Save us Google! We know you're never evil! /s
That is definitely a relevant concern. Most homes by and around Manito Park are remodeled, but it's hit-and-miss in other areas. I live in a 50s home up here and it's a pain sometimes, so I feel ya. You may want to check out the area bordered by Bernard, 29th, and High Drive (around Comstock Park). There are a few brand new homes, but most were built in the 70s/80s and are very nice and very well kept houses. The only downside to this area is that the homes are quite a bit more expensive. Maps link to Comstock Park
I have a 3M half face piece respirator. I got it at Home Depot. In store it comes packaged with the organic vapor cartridge filters. Here is the Amazon link. It doesn’t come with the cartridges though. Here are the cartridges.
Note that there are a few different face piece sizes. I recommend going to a store so you can make sure the one you get fits you.
>This was leading me to look at the Cannon Rebel series, the Rebel T3 is only $91 on MPB. Would the Nikor lens work with that camera?
It will not, one reason I suggested Nikon was specifically that I knew that lens (A) was within the budget, and (B) had an instant manual-focus override so it'd work well with cheap macro tubes that don't support autofocus.
That said, the Rebel T3 should be fine. You'll just need EF or EF-S mount lenses instead of the Nikon/Nikkor F mount lenses. You can get a basic EF 50mm f/1.8 lens for around $70, it'll just be more zoomed-in than the Nikkor 35mm.
If you go the Canon route, rather than macro tubes, I'd suggest picking up a set of 49mm closeup filters like these. Basically they're magnifying glasses that screw onto the end of the lens. The canon EF 50mm f/1.8 lens has a filter size of 49mm so you just need to make sure the closeup filters match.

>Why yes, he is doing mainly lego stop motions, how did you know
There are whole movies about legos so I figured that might have been what gave him the idea!
From one short person to another, I hear you there! When I had my mom's SUV a few years ago, I invested in a brush that had a telescoping handle and a scraper on the end. It was an absolute lifesaver - I highly recommend one!
I went to Berserk and saw a guy in a body suit with question marks printed all over, it was interesting since he had no where to drink? Pinball was fun though.
>if you drive 20 minutes in any direction out of town you're in disparate farm land and all that land is also in Spokane County. We're always just a hop, skip and a jump from Hicksville, USA no matter where we turn.
It's tempting to imagine that all the people who make the food you eat are Deliverance style hicks, but I don't think that kind of broad brush painting is any more helpful than some ranchers dismissing all city residents as antifa supersoldiers or whatever. Plenty of ranchers and farmers aren't Trump supporters.
Long ago, farmers used to be stereotyped as generally progressive, sometimes even revolutionary, in their politics. Thomas Frank wrote an interesting book about it, called "What's the Matter with Kansas," and his recent follow up is I think necessary reading for anyone who considers themselves a supporter of the working class..
I’ve owned like four different kinds and these are by FAR the best ones. They’re also twice as expensive as most any other pair. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend them for running because you can feel them more on the bottom of your foot, but they stick to ice like crazy. https://www.amazon.com/ICETrekkers-Diamond-Traction-Cleats-9-5-12/dp/B00A3T8Z6O/ref=asc_df_B00A3T8Z6O/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=167126255221&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=11803687789783206460&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt...
Spokane doesn't get cold enough long enough to kill a person if they have the right sleeping bag.
https://www.amazon.com/Kelty-Cosmic-Synthetic-Backpacking-Sleeping/dp/B082P6SKTK/
If you get ahold of one of those for the human and a suitable setup for the dog (depending on how big they are - a bigger dog doesn't need much even down to very cold temperatures) your mom will be safer than if she was falling asleep in an extremely flammable van with a space heater.
Also invest in a zero degree sleeping bag, just in case something comes up and she doesn’t have access to heat.
I took this while hiking a loop on AllTrails called Deep Creek Loop trail. The majority of it is on Trail 25 and you start up at Carlson Trailhead. You could start at Pine Bluff trailhead also, the elevaton gain from both sides is the same.
https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/washington/deep-creek-loop-trail
Here's an example. They can indeed be used while the vehicle is running.
I have two separate pumps for my front and rear of my offroad rig, and run them simultaneously on a factory alternator without any issue.
you guys are still using amazon? meme.jpg
It's cheaper, faster, and you have recourse, to order direct and just skip the middle man which is Amazon
Real humans: https://milehidistilling.com/product/alembic-copper-still-5-liter/ $315
Automated system that forces people to piss in their lunch boxes (Amazon): https://www.amazon.com/Alembic-whiskey-moonshine-essential-Copperholic/dp/B0797TJ5MZ $350
Did that 3 years ago and it works great. One other key is to provide good clean power through a UPS. I recommend and use this brand:
Good clean power is a must for modem and router devices. I've fixed my own and a couple friends' problems with a UPS. Here is one I personally use.
We switched all the lights to ceiling fans it has seamed to help a lot. If you have black out curtains you can put styrofoam between window & curtains (we used the styrofoam that came in the TV box) or something similar. The styrofoam is normally while so it looks like curtains from the outside. For the doggo you could get/make a cooling dog bed. DIY dryer vent hose/pvc pipe, small fan, frozen bottle of water, dog bed put together could easily make a cooling bed. Here is the like to store bought. https://www.chewy.com/arf-pets-self-cooling-cat-dog-bed/dp/341449
I grew up next to manito and my parents told me about this when I was a kid.
I have this book about Manito, which is dedicated to her.
I know exactly what this is!!! It’s a butane torch tip. Like this one https://www.amazon.com/Bernz-Matic-ST2200T-Micro-Butane/dp/B000PS9TQI/ref=mp_s_a_1_8?crid=3AUQ7NW8LL4GW&keywords=bernzomatic+butane+torch&qid=1656294451&sprefix=benzomatic+butane+torch%2Caps%2C155&sr=8-8
Our dogs were pretty upset. They got a little extra Turk It Easy. 😎
It seemed to help. They like to get turked up from time to time.
This is the last place I got them. At the bottom, they tell you how much to use in your yard, but we've been using at least twice that, I think.

This book has been a great resource for me over the years. You can find it at any local bookstore if you don’t want to support Mr Bezos
What's not working about it?
There's just a regular old harddrive inside of it. If the timecapsule itself is dead all you should need to do is take the harddrive out and hook it up to a mac with a powered USB Sata adapter
If the harddrive itself is having issues, then removing it is still the best way to get it looked at and checked to see if it can be recovered via the above adapter.
We hiked rocks of sharon, it's not a hard hike if you hike but the top is amazing! What I found to be amazing is the wind up there is incredible! Mt. Spokane has some trails, we haven't done any of them yet though. rocks of Sharon
Here’s the All Trails that will take you to the base of the lakes. From that point, you’re gonna have some heavy duty uphill climbing if you want to get to the top. Beautiful and worth it. https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/idaho/stevens-lakes
Other than the media abroad saying Spo cain, I can't think of a less thought out and researched post by anyone (much less [pedant]https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/pedant) on /r/spokane yet. Upvote for for the unimaginative and perhaps crosspost to /r/iamsosmart.
Happy to have you! Whenever I get bored I either get out or I skill up.
You into sports, the outdoors? Try softball. Lots of us crappy players are just looking to be social and there are no-commitment Drop-in events every Tuesday. Kickball just ended but it starts back up in the Spring. There are a few leagues in town. Meetup.com has a few excellent outdoor Meetups for biking, skiing, hiking, kayaking, or just hanging out. Want to learn a new skill? There are home brew classes, usually organized by Jim's Home Brew on N. Division. Or, take a sushi making class at Orlison the first week of October. Got some free time? Get a side gig at a bar or restaurant. Some of the best friends I've ever made were bar coworkers, not to mention the excellent customer service skills you'll get. I've also met a bunch of great people at Habitat for Humanity. That not your gig? Volunteer at Scraps/Humane Society. They're choc full of cool people (and cats and dogs).
Have you visited MeetUp.com? I'm sure you've heard of it before, but it's a great way to meet people here who are interested in similar things to you. Some of the Facebook groups (like Spokane Speaks Freely) can be fun to meet new people or people who've moved to Spokane from your city/state. Hope this helps! :)
I keep this one as my alarm clock near my bed and when I wake up I either stick around for 10 minutes reading the news on my phone with it, or I'll head over to my desk and use the second one I have between my computer monitors for 10-15 minutes.
I didn't say there were zero options. What I said is that they are limited, by comparison to the rest of the state. Look at an AllTrails map, for a quick example: https://www.alltrails.com/explore?b_tl_lat=50.352470894936836&b_tl_lng=-129.122314453125&b_br_lat=44.134913443750726&b_br_lng=-112.60986328125
It is called Lookout Mtn. To get there you do the Knothead Valley Loop Hike off Rutter Parkway (Indian Painted Rocks Trailhead Parking Lot), and from the very top of that hike you cut off trail and hike 1-mile directly North up the hill and you will get to the top which has this old Fire Lookout Tower, as well as a relay station for Fairchild Air Force Base.. (Note that hiking to the top adds a total of 2-miles to your hike and doubles your elevation gain for the hike to over 2,000ft).
I get 5GE in liberty lake with AT&T. I get around 190 down and 35 up. It might not be true 5G but it’s really fast whatever I’m getting and that’s what matters to me. I’m using an iPhone XS
Walgreens was a great option, but the drive through testing slots usually fill up 7 days out.
After that? It's likely one of the private test companies (Indigo), but they're really quite expensive.
With a couple more days lead, Amazon sells a 24 hour turn around home test. You mail it overnight via air and they get you results via email within another 24 hour period. We used it a few times for travel: https://www.amazon.com/Amazon-Covid-19-Test-Kit/dp/B08ZR5XNBM/ref=lp_23480822011_1_5
On short notice, I think your primary option is one of the local labs or a hospital what might do it in house.
https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/idaho/round-lake-trail
Round Lake in Idaho has a great little hike around the lake that kids can do. Not too big, and has a cool bridge going over the creek on one side.
There are tons of areas just south of town. I mostly have been riding between Spokane and Spangle. There are also a lot of great areas south of Dishman. I haven't really been up north of town yet. Riverside State Park has some pretty gravel friendly areas too. Touch base with the guys at mojo cycles. They have regular group rides couple times a week.
Also, if you download the Ride with GPS app, and type in Spokane and Gravel, you'll come up with a whole bunch of routes like this. Spangle loop
That should be a great route once things warm up! The trail of the CDAs and centennial trail are (mostly) flat and of course very scenic. I've ridden both 97 and 95 between the two trails as well. Both options are fairly hilly, which could be an unwelcome added challenge if you aren't used to riding multiple days in a row. 97 is more pleasant IMO by virtue of slower and lower volume traffic, but maybe has slightly more elevation gain and definitely has less of a shoulder for riding.
There are some good online resources for mapping your route before you go. The most popular are probably the mapping tools on strava or ridewithgps.com. These will give you a plot of elevation along the route and allow you to estimate distances between places where you could stop for water / food / sleep. Both of these also have the very useful option to show heatmaps where other riders have biked, which will give you a sense of which roads are generally favored by local cyclists and usually reflects the relative safety of different route options.
One caveat to be mindful of, especially for your planned route, is that the routes of organized cycling events tend to be overrepresented on these heatmaps. These events usually have signage and sometimes lanes closed to car traffic for the safety of the large number of cyclists, so you may see route options appear on these websites that aren't actually sensible for individuals riding alone. For example, the annual CDA fondo event has cyclists biking on I-90 to facilitate the connection between the centennial trail and 97, which definitely isn't a safe option for every day cyclists.
Feel free to message me if you have questions about your route, training for something like this, equipment choice / packing, or whatever crosses your mind.
what kind of speeds are you getting? you might need to make a few changes to your network configuration depending on what you are getting.
While i can't attest to what the service would be like in an older residential neighborhood since the lines are all up on poles and mine are in the ground, my service has been solid for several years now. I imagine any problems with service drop outs are most likely teething issues as they are running new fiber all over town. their techs may be slow to respond due to this as well. I am currently paying $80/mo for it. if they are now offering it at 65 i may have to inquire about that....
Even folks on the Nextdoor site are wondering. “Anyone else concerned that vehicle counting on S-curve on Glenrose and east end 29th occurred last week during stay at home order and during a time when schools were closed. If this was done to falsely address volume of traffic as an effort to push through the proposed SYSA sports complex, we need to give pushback as the data obtained were clearly not reflective of the typical volume of vehicles traveled on Glenrose and 29th.”
But I think the only way to see this post is to be a part of it. https://nextdoor.com/post/144843860?init_source=copy_link_share
You may want to take a look at Airtable. I haven’t personally used it, but non technical staff in my company have cobbled together some really interesting data solutions with it when engineering couldn’t immediately get to their projects.
Last year, we had a heat wave in February hitting near 60 degrees for two weeks during what is usually the snowiest part of the year. Then in June (actually a year ago this week) we had another heat wave that hit 105.
Going the other direction, about 10 years ago we had 2 of the snowiest winters back-to-back (>90" of snow each), then it was followed by the least snowiest year on record (~14" total?)
Moral of the story is, Eastern WA weather is very eccentric. Our normal is that there is no normal.
Edit: Another example is back on September 15, 2013 you can see the exact moment summer ended and fall arrived, shortly after 9 pm that night.
This is one of the best sites to find work. I moved here last year and the /r/spokanejobs is kind of dead. Craigslist is mostly a bunch of scams. This is at least real jobs. http://www.indeed.com/l-Spokane,-WA-jobs.html
Hmm. Yeah I've done that. I am currently doing chunks of this, the midnight century Its a 100 mile ride done the first Saturday of August at 11:59pm.
I was referenced this study at work. Guess over a population, physical activity outweighs the negative affects of particulate matter.
https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/washington/rocks-of-sharon-trail
I've boated/camped around Seven Bays and the cell service is definitely spotty but it tends to be better (1-2 bars of Verizon 4G) out on the water. Here's a link to Open Signal's crowd-sourced signal map for Verizon:
I'm paying Comcast just over $100/month for gigabit speeds (900 down, 40 up) in the heart of Spokane with exceedingly rare WAN downtime. The company's slimy practice of incrementally upping rates from month to month is shady and irritating, but the complaints about speed seem misplaced. Prior to gigabit I was getting 300 down (on a 250 plan) and 12 up.

That said, I'd still like to see municipal broadband to have an accessible alternative.
I would really recommend this book. Discusses Jesus the man, before all the trappings of Church and Religion were added on. https://www.amazon.com/Jesus-Before-Christianity-Albert-Nolan/dp/1570754047
It's so childish...I was filling up a few minutes ago and someone cleverly put one of these next to the gas total

Imagine spending money to purchase this and sticking them on gas station pumps because you NEED to tell someone your opinion
If you have a front porch light, would research and see if something like one of these would work. Light up the yard like a football field and they will leave. Home Depot or the like might have a single, get the highest lumen and highest (around 6000K) for the whitest light. Link is for a 2 pack, so maybe you have a backyard fixture you could use one for. Just make sure the measurements fit the application.
I live under some enormous pines that dump tons of needles all over my house and yard. The previous owner installed screens in the gutters, which I'm happy to say are 100% effective. He didn't install them on the outbuilding, which isn't directly under the trees, so I still have to blow out those gutters. I bought one of these attachments so that I can do it from the ground.
These were on Amazon for $37. Like $40 after tax. We got the results a day later. Make sure you know when your ups air drop-off time is a your local ups store.

If anyone needs a good red cloak, this is a good one
>we've already been wearing N95s on really bad air quality days
You know what's funny is a half-faceplate respirator and set of P100 filters ($35 total) really isn't that much (~20 N95s), and is was more comfortable if you're trying to maintain your apocalypse garden without getting lung cancer (lung cancer without even the satisfaction of the smooth taste of a camel)
I ride my bike with our lab/rot mix, and my wife walks/runs with him. We've had our fair share of run ins with irresponsible dog owners. We purchased some dog specific pepper spray that has been great for peace of mind in case a dog attacks ours, or vice-versa. Its definitely given my wife, who is small framed and would definitely struggle to break up a fight between our large dog and another, more confidence.
Remote start may be illegal depending on where your car is parked, plus its not going to melt the snow off of your car. You can get a windshield cover that will prevent you from most scraping. Removing the rest of the snow can be done in short order using a push broom.
If you want a great maternity present, and it's within your budget, order one of these:
My crimper is a combo one like this, with cutters at the tips and the crimp sections a little further back towards the axle. Because of that and where the crimp sections on the flag connectors are, I'm like 90% certain the cutters'll snip the female connecter section pretty bad before I get a solid connection.
Then again, I'm an amateur. If I'm being an idiot, someone please let me know.
You mean like this? If so, I don't think it would work. Thank you, though!

I'm certain there are better cameras out there, but if you're going to only spend 50 bucks, this is probably the one.
Edit, night is good too but I don't have any other cameras to compare it to.
Eventually I would like to replace this thing and use this as a rear-facing
I have a Tzevalot handpan (one of the few makers of the original nitrided hang style handpan) and I like it a lot. I haven't relocated to Spokane yet from Seattle but maybe early in the 2021 (lots of plans messed up due to Covid). It is beautiful and easy to get started with and make meditative sounds but it is a musical instrument so expect to spend some time learning it. https://www.amazon.com/Tzevaot-Handpan-Aeolian-440hz-inch/dp/B00V3RVSSM
Dentist. Mine will sell the Fluoridex variety to his patients for $15 a tube. (not covered under my medical or dental insurance but YMMV)
Alternatively, available OTC (less fluoride ppm to stay within legal limits)- something like Colgate Gel-Kam or 3M Omni gel. I use the 3M variety because the grape flavor is a nice changeup from all the mintiness dental products are.
VSON - I made the same mistake

Looks like its a commodity unit as there are several others with different branding on Bezos' Bargain Bazaar
Hey, how are you visiting? Renting a car? If so, I really recommend going hiking up in Rustler's Gulch area or (if you're willing to take a longer drive) Metaline Falls, which is one of my favorite areas I've hiked in the Spokane area.
I also second /u/kiphillreporter on Arbor Crest. And also traveling the Palouse wheat fields as well. And if you do, pick up a copy of Bretz's Flood It's about the Geologist who figured out the cause of the unique geomorphology of the area. And if you PM me, I can email you a PDF of relevant things from my copy of the Roadside Geology of Washington
Classic projection, gets even stranger when you know he promoted Acosta for helping Epstein, he hired William Barr and his father mentored Epstein and hired him to teach boys and girls even though he did not graduate, and also wrote this book.
Guess what William Barrs father like to write about, https://www.amazon.com/Space-relations-slightly-gothic-interplanetary/dp/0860000249
Yup our Attorney General was raised by someone that fantasized about children as sex slaves. Our President brags about assaulting women and cheating on multiple wives. And still supported by the Religious right wing and his cult.
The right setup really depends a lot on what kind of stuff you want to write and what instruments you play, if any.
I'm big fan of bundles like this because they get you familiar with a typical recording setup - keyboard, mic, speakers, headphones and software. Presonus is a great company with amazing customer support. The program Studio One is pretty okay for getting started, but I personally suggest people start with Ableton Lite due to how intuitive it is. It's just hard to find bundles with keyboards (which I find to be a pretty necessary item in starting to make music, especially EDM) that include Ableton. You also have the option to piece together hardware and software, which is still a good way to do it, just a little harder to navigate if you don't know what you're doing, given how many options there are out there for each thing.
It all really depends on what you're trying to do, though. If you don't ever see yourself using a microphone, you could go for a good bundle with only a keyboard and software and then getting a decent set of monitors or headphones. If you don't ever see yourself using a keyboard, like only doing guitar stuff, you could get a good sound card, mic and software bundle. It all just depends! I'd be happy to help, in any case. I love getting people set up to record. I know Hoffman has some Presonus bundles and they can probably order something if they don't have it. Also, they definitely have stuff to piece together a good studio setup, depending on what you're looking to do.
This thing is great. I just bought the next size up and it isn't as good. I would rather get a few of these instead.

I haven't looked at Reddit in forever. I don't really know where you're at with electronics but this is a decent start. https://www.amazon.com/Electromagnetic-Compatibility-Engineering-Henry-Ott/dp/0470189304/ref=sr_1_1?crid=E57HGMYLBIPR&keywords=electromagnetic+compatibility&qid=1553330963&s=gateway&sprefix=electromagnetic+compa%2Caps%2C254&sr=8-1
