I do this too.
I've been using a tape recorder to record every conversation I've had on psychedelics for the past 5 years. I am not sure I will ever go back and listen through all the stuff and transcribe it. I also have a folder with tons of "random ideas" I've written alone on substances.
If you manage to do anything with it, report back. I'd be very curious to hear what you learn.
Also, stop using notepad. Start using writemonkey for writing on a machine.
Idk if you've heard of the website genius, but they have just about every songs lyrics and almost line by line meaning of what the lyrics means. Here's the link to the lyrics you were questioning.
That quote is from his book The Conquest of Happiness, which I’m enjoying reading right now. It’s pretty short and full of a lot of good bits like that, and overall it’s just a really good read and can be found for pretty cheap. If it sounds interesting for ya, or hit up that library goodness.
I always love seeing people realise the beauty of the moon. Moon is my nickname irl. My partner started calling me Maantje (little moon) when we just met eachother and it totally changed the associations I have with the moon.
Whenever I see something moon themed or with a moon on it, it instantly reminds me of him. I gifted him a 3D printed moon lamp a few years ago. Quite affordable and it's portable, so really nice to take with you outside when going for a smoke when it's dark. Also just nice to look at the little craters.

"Hey everyone welcome to my channel..but first, this video is brought to you by NordVPN....no lets jump back into it"
Dicks furiously pounding
"Oh and please like and subscribe! And don't for get to hit that notification belll! "
Hate that.
You're thinking the exact thing as most prominent astronomers! The "fine tuning problem"*** notices that if the universe's constants like the electron mass, the gravitational constant, and the cosmological constant were even SLIGHTLY different then life wouldn't have been possible. Suggests something deeper...

I think about this a lot too. I just ordered this book as suggested by another Redditor.
Sorry, just getting around to responding. You may have already got the book, in which case, how do you like it?
The thing about the Tao te Ching is... it's originally Chinese poetry, and it doesn't translate exactly. So there's a whole bunch of translations.
My favorite translation is the one that starts: The Tao that can be told is not the eternal Tao.
That version also has this gem: A good traveler has no fixed plans and is not intend upon arriving.
I'm gonna get that tattooed eventually.
I carried the Stephen Mitchell pocket version with me when I went to Asia. It's not my favorite translation, but it's okay.
I'd say the best way to approach it is to go to Barnes and Noble and flip through a few versions and just choose the one that speaks to you.
The reason I like the one I mentioned is because it feels poetic, almost like the Bible or Shakespeare. Not everyone likes that flavour though.
One other thing...
You don't like the terminology of an "idea factory", I suspect because you have an association of factories and technology and pollution and all the other ugly stuff of modern life.
Just to offer another perspective on that, I'd recommend a classic book called "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance." I've read it a half a dozen times, and I really like it.
There's a quote in there...
“The Buddha, the Godhead, resides quite as comfortably in the circuits of a digital computer or the gears of a cycle transmission as he does at the top of the mountain, or in the petals of a flower. To think otherwise is to demean the Buddha - which is to demean oneself.”
I work in tech myself, and I think that technology is just tools. It's what we do with those tools that determines it's meaning.
Those books are mediocre PR-books for the authors and their "referenced" (copied) material The Art of War and The Prince are better. But I guess you mean Game Theory in general.
First the playing field would level. Then the game would either end for good or end in chaos.
"If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle." -Sun Tzu, The Art of War
i hope you understand, i am not trying to prove you wrong just throwing a few questions around.
i have experienced states of mind, both drug assisted and sober, which are impossible to describe in words to someone who understands what i'm talking about, let alone the difficulties of trying to explain to someone over the internet. it can be like the zen idea of swallowing molten iron, you can't continue to swallow it as you die, you can spit it out and you can't hold it in.
don't worry bout how delusional you think it sounds, socrates, siddhartha, lao tzu, tesla, moses and others were all called crazy in their day. at least you have the math of m-theory to back you up :) and i bet it was a wonderful experience until you tried to describe it.
have you read Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance?
Also, a bit of a synchronicity. I've just started reading this relevant book http://www.amazon.com/E-Squared-Do-It-Yourself-Experiments-Thoughts-Reality/dp/1401938906
Not sure what to think of it yet, but I'll follow up if anything cool happens!
Indeed. I'll add to the bit about being a good reader that one needs to let things bleed into the writing, which means reading everything: fiction, non fiction, westerns, romances, thrillers, dense historical dramas.
I like to think I've taken high writing to the next level by writing high about characters that are high and looking to get higher.
