Not exactly. They use the "Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 license", which does allow anyone to use adapt the material in for-profit works. The big catch is that the derivate work has to be distributed under the same license. They could still charge you to access it on their site, but it'd be perfectly legal for you to upload episodes to YouTube, or even sell your own DVD box sets of them. That's a big ask, even for Netflix.

Hey! I actually just finished a project doing this, allowing the lights to blink any arbitrary message.

Two options for you, which I'm happy to talk you through further if you're interested:

1. Easy way: if you only want to blink "RUN", you can set up a string of lights that aren't connected to anything at all, and then connect just the three lights for RUN through a simple timing switch to blink on repeat. I think this is how the actual show prop was made

2. Less easy way: An arduino or a raspberry pi can control WS2812 addressable LEDs, letting you tell it which light to light up, what color, etc. I have mine reading off Twitter so party guests can tweet messages to be displayed. I took a few hours of work, but I'm happy to share the code and draw up some wiring diagrams for you

I enjoyed Super 8 a lot. To counter the bad things you've heard, it has pretty solid ratings on Rotten Tomatoes. Very reminiscent (intentionally) of E.T., and since it's a movie it obviously is seriously limited in terms of character development. But it's good for what it is.

Also, googling Super 8 made me think of Sense8, the Wachowskis' show on Netflix from last year. It has a lot of similar themes to those movies (people with supernatural abilities, secret government/scientist conspiracy trying to chase them down) just with a much more modern aesthetic and a very atmospheric vibe to it. I'd definitely recommend it if you haven't already seen it, nice change of pace from Stranger Things while still having some similarities.

The RGB Fusion 2.0 program I have to use for my aorus mobo honestly sucks so I just use the controller I got with the fans and then match my ram to it with a fading pulse effect.

I bought something similar to this on Amazon a couple weeks ago. The signatures on mine aren't originals they are just reprinted but based on some videos I've seen from comic cons and other stuff, the ones on mine appear to match ones that are signed on video by the cast. A lot of Robin Cook's books skew that way. He was kind of like the science answer to Stephen King in the 80s. And Dean Koontz. Just grab the ones specifically written in the 80s and see how you like them. \

Neither of these authors are particularly great, but their books are pretty fun, dumb entertainment reads. Definitely page turners though.

Stranger in a Strange Land, no parallel universes, but definitely government conspiracies and telepathy. And a bonus sex cult!

Also, try your hand at the X-Men Spin-Off New Mutants...the actual one from the 80s. Especially the Bill Sienkiewicz drawn issues. It is tubular, deals with a lot of weird shit, and the New Mutants movie, which is coming out...loads of people unfamiliar with the first few years of that comic are already crying "Stranger Things Rip-Off". If you only want to get one collection to try, get this one at a different price, because those Amazon sellers must be smoking something. Your local library might have it too.

I know some (me included) are reticent about a lot of the book/comic stuff. But trust me, this is worth reading. Not only gives a believable account answering exactly your question, but also gives much needed depth to Will's character for the people who feel he is too much of a plot device.

It may not be canon, but it works great as mental canon for any fan.

Hopper has a phone convo with Diane in ST1. Hopper also discloses that Sara “lives in the city” with Diane to Mr. Clarke. One of the novels also explores Hopper’s time in NYC.

Yes, he wasn't often good at expressing his emotions, but he admitted his mistakes towards Eleven during the discussion in his car towards the lab. So I was waiting for him to be more in tune with himself. Make him more transparent with his daughter.

Okay, Eleven has someone, but he's by no means a stranger: Mike was the first person to offer his help when she ran away from the lab. A person who called her every day until they were reunited in season 2. Hopper apologizes to Mike, because he noticed that Eleven really mattered to him and that he was really worried. And apparently Mike often came to Eleven between season 2 and 3, it was something frequent that Hopper should have gotten used to. So this sudden rise in anger is inconsistent for me.

I find it inconsistent that he then lies and threatens teenagers to achieve his goals.... He nevertheless demonstrated common sense in seasons 1 and 2, as well as several notable qualities.

What also displeased me was that he celebrated this "victory" under Jim Croce's song, which was played when he and Eleven were cleaning and landscaping their new home in season 2.

There are tabletop RPGs other than D&D which are very rules light. I've played Apocalypse World, which is a post-apocalypse future kind of game. The mechanics aren't tricky and empowers the players to develop the world alongside the DM. Plus it has rules for sweet road vehicle combat. I played a "too young to be driving" character who drove a 60's hippie van with a mounted machine-gun. We tried to raid a bandit lair after they stole my car, but my rocket launcher backfired and I got exploded. Good times all around.

Without knowing where you are from, I know some people in far off places play over the internet using Roll20, but I don't know too much about that. I take it you can find a 5th edition D&D group fairly easily which shouldn't be too difficult to play a few games, at least to learn the basic rules.

I’m not quite sure what outfit you are mimicking but he’s probably in cargo shorts/pants or gray jeans. I would just look on Amazon for those clothes, not costume wear, actual clothes. I was Katniss Everdeen once and bought my whole costume from Amazon clothing, the only hunger games specific things I bought was a faux bow and a mocking bird pin. So if you have the hat and shirt, just use a pic to piece together the rest, then you can wear the clothes again and they won’t fall apart because they are a cheap costume.

The lights are individually addressable, so when they're hooked up to an Arduino, you can set each light to blink individually, be a different color, etc. I used this Arduino library and these lights.

It looks like a basic 80s Canon camera (Canon AE-1). You get one similar to it at Goodwill/Savers/etc pretty cheap. I don't think anyone is going to call you out from not having the exact camera. The lens may be more difficult to find.
