And if I may make a suggestion for a RP plugin, I would suggest Roll. It adds a system where in game rp decisions can be determined by means rather than PVP. https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/roll.18789/
erm.. it's really not that difficult to get MC to run on Linux.
(Though if you're running linux then I presume you know how to use Terminal / know the fundamentals of repositories and installing software through command line).
>sudo add-apt-repository ppa:webupd8team/java
>sudo apt-get update
>sudo apt-get install oracle-java8-installer
(What these do is if the first one adds the repository (ie web address for where to find Java 8, the second one runs the update service on your computer making sure everything went through okay and updating the list of software from your repositories. The third one finally pulls the files you need from the repository and installs it)
Next head to HERE to download Minecraft, hit the blue link of "show other platforms" and then download the one for linux: Minecraft.jar (86 KB)
Run that with Java and it's good to go. No need to mess with getting wine to run the exe launcher.
Step 1. Download the Teamspeak Client for whatever operating system you are on.
Step 2. Click Connections
Step 3. Hit connect and put in the IP for the TS server play.therealmsmc.com
And you are done
Hey man, I believe it's a spigot bug.
Lots of conflicting reports on cause; this thread mentions something about ItemSpawning via plugins (though none we'd have would cause this issue, we don't drop or spawn any items that players aren't allowed to hold / have; only items with lore) https://www.spigotmc.org/threads/item-entity-xxx-has-no-item.37241/
Where as others get the issue even on single player:
In the end, while it may give a console error / spam; it's very likely not detrimental (as in it's not instantly crashing your client, or causing errors to actual play), and thus would chalk it up as "annoying as fuck but nothing else".
I'll keep heading deeper down the rabbit hole though, see if I can find anything conclusive.
Realms is semi back.
Is looking really interesting, and so far, looks like a platform that goes far beyond what Minecraft server could offer us. Something that I feel could finally realize the Realms ideal from the very beginning.
As soon as the game reaches Beta / a server release, I shall be opening up a vanilla server that will slowly be a test bench for working on concepts and ideas moving towards a full Realms release on that platform.
At this point in time, there is no information on when that is likely to happen - but I wanted to let people know that this is something I'm actively thinking about, and going to do.
If you're interested in helping out / contributing ideas towards a new RPG focused server. You're welcome to message me. I will be looking to put together a staff / design team to help with this. Again, there is literally no tools available for this server yet, nor beta. This is purely concept at the moment, but something I aim to work a lot on in a very short amount of time when we do have those tools.
Why would we attack a foe that has a 50% or more chance of winning?
The Art of War has an entire chapter (6) dedicated to "Weak points and strong" It's all about knowing when to attack, and when to retreat so you can attack again later. Imposing your will on the enemy, without him imposing his will on you, attacking fractions of his force with your entire army, dictating the terms of engagement.
It makes no sense to charge headlong into a force of equal or greater size to your own, it makes no sense to attack a force that knows you are coming and is prepared with pearls, potions, and equipment.
A clever general will instead wait to attack by surprise, when only part of the enemy force is online, with his full army. The enemy will not have time to drink any potions or otherwise prepare, therefore ensuring victory. Those enemies who were not online and therefore survived, will now have only a fraction of their army remaining, and can be defeated much easier in battle later on. Divide and conquer.
