>According to The Shock Doctrine by Naomi Klein, by the late 1980s the economy had stabilized and was growing, but around 45% of the population had fallen into poverty while the wealthiest 10% saw their incomes rise by 83%
>Wages decreased by 8%. Family allowances in 1989 were 28% of what they had been in 1970 and the budgets for education, health and housing had dropped by over 20% on average.
If by 'people of Chile' you mean 'rich oligarchs' then sure. Also, lovely how you're totally glossing over his reign of terror. Benign indeed.
For a DIY version, you can by 8.5" x 11" magnetic sheets for inkjet printers: https://www.amazon.com/Avery-Magnet-Sheets-Inches-03270/dp/B00006HN5Q
I made some refrigerator magnets with that stuff like 10 years ago and they still work.
Partially. He was one of the strongest writers and has a huge amount of the best episodes under his belt.
Also, he has a bunch of self-published books that are absolutely fantastic. I read the first couple pages on Amazon and was immediately hooked.
Context: Bart has lied to Homer that the kids don't need a babysitter. Homer believes him until he checks the card he always carries. Bart replies with "Blast, that infernal card!"
The scene is funny at face value, but what put a grin on my face was the double entendre of card (definitions 1. the actual piece of paper, and 7. Homer)
What subtle jokes keep you coming back for more?
The source of this vintage style poster is a talented guy called Noah Ortmann who had originally posted it here: https://www.behance.net/gallery/19358331/Canyonero-Poster
He truly deserves the credit as I want this on my wall as a poster badly.
The program is called Plex. It manages your downloaded shows and movies and downloads metadata for them. If you download the app for your tablet/phone, you can stream the shows from your PC to your device.
It's also compatible with Chromecast.
Hey guys, the deal's still active right now over at Barnes and Noble's website! link
I ordered one just now :)
http://www.timeanddate.com/eclipse/lunar/2014-october-8 has good information on the subject. Basically visible to some extent from everywhere but Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
I saw the last one, and I think my expectations were too high. I thought it would be something spectacular, but it was mostly just the Moon, but brown (Brown... Brown... Brown...). Still neat, though.
Well, lets check the shoddy tape I found in a minutes search!
http://www.frequency.com/video/youre-out-there-somewhere-beer-baron-ill/137011710/-/5-920868
Seems to me like he says "Won't", too elongated and not shouty enough to be a d'oh.
Haven't seen this scene in years. It's one of my favorites. Here's a video of it. I love the animation as he tries to recall last night.
"An" only makes sense if you're not pronouncing the h, like with a French accent or similar. The issue comes up because in words like historic the emphasis starts mostly on the first i, and the h is kind of half-assed, so people went "fuck it, good enough" and started using "an" with it. It was apparently more of a thing in the 18th and 19th centuries, which is probably where the style Brockman uses pulled it from.
Personally, I think that's bad and wrong, but there is some logic behind it.
What Is an Aspect Ratio in Film?
>An aspect ratio describes the width and height of a screen or image. An aspect ratio consists of two numbers separated by a colon, the first number denoting the image’s width and the second its height. For example, an aspect ratio of 1.33:1 means the image's width is 1.33 times the size of its height. To eliminate decimals in this ratio, you can write it as 4:3 instead.
>4:3 or 1.33:1. The earliest films were presented in a 4:3 ratio, and until the advent of widescreen HDTV, 4:3 was the normal ratio for standard-definition television sets. Today, the 4:3 aspect ratio primarily serves artistic purposes, such as mimicking a style of filmmaking before the widescreen aspect ratio became the norm.
>16:9. The standard size for high definition widescreen televisions and most computer monitors, 16:9 is the most common aspect ratio used today. It is generally associated with video shot for TV and the Internet since film aspect ratios are typically wider in order to achieve a more cinematic look. Outside of movie theaters, most viewers watch content on 16:9 screens, so unless you're shooting content that will be shown theatrically, shooting in the 16:9 ratio is a wise decision.
4:5 = typo or error
I made a list of what /r/thesimpsons thought was the top 5 episodes were: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AgKWrLlq8PlZdHE3TzhNTC14SERwMTNoMG5VVUJKb3c#gid=0
You Only Move Twice dominated it.
Nope, didn't get to meet any of the voice actors, but did get to take Matt Groening, James L Brooks, Al Jean, David X Cohen and others on fast laps around the Fox studios.
Sorry, but Matt Groening says they are not his, and not only that but he has no memory of ever being in a Bennigans. Someone's been had.

if you get a cheap PlayStation Vue tv plan that includes FXX, you can then log into the FXNOW app to watch this!
its cheaper than cable, but more than 10 bucks a month. Hopefully this would work for some of you.

Not a Canada option yet, but this post/sub may help https://www.reddit.com/r/canadacordcutters/comments/4ajmk1/anyone_accessing_playstation_vue_from_canada/
I recommend, in addition to what /u/82friendly mentioned:
Otherwise I'd recommend anything other than "The Musk who Fell to Earth" and "Friend with Benefit", the former of which I couldn't stand and the latter I found disappointing.
Thought you guys might be interesting in snatching this one up before it's too late. Note, purchasing a season pass will automatically add new episodes as they become available to your Amazon Video digital library. There's a few other upcoming seasons of shows available for cheap as well (family guy, always sunny, bob's burgers, etc): https://slickdeals.net/f/11956483-the-simpsons-season-30-family-guy-season-17-and-more-2-99-tv-seasons-to-own-in-hd-amazon-video
The way you're supposed to do it is to right-click the SVP icon in the taskbar and generate an AVISynth script for the video and open that script in Virtualdub. I couldn't get that to work so I just recorded my screen with OBS. Setting the source to the MPC-HC window (inner window only) works well. Then, I used XMedia Recode to more precisely shorten the clip and export to WebM (VP8 codec). Then gfycat can take it and it won't reduce the framerate. Any other format and it will reduce the framerate to 30.
OBS uses a bunch of CPU power unless you have hardware encoding (ex. Intel QuickSync) especially with 60-120fps recording, so beware of that if MPC can't play it smoothly.

That newsgroup is archived now, but there are people still using it.
I'm 19 years old...I can reply to something older than me.
It kind of creeps me out. It's like going into the attic of the Internet.

There's a post by someone named Matthew Kurth mentioning Minerva from Animaniacs. In February 1994 when that episode aired. It's now 20 years old.
That's in Whycocomagh, Cape Breton -- here's an article from the Boston Globe.
There was an article in the Halifax Chronicle Herald several years ago about the lady who owns the house, Sylvia Googoo, but damned if I can find it. She started the whole thing in 2005 as a surprise for her graduating nephew, and just kept adding characters over the years. I've passed by several times, and it's always a pleasant surprise because it's so unexpected ... this is NOT near the city, it's it rural Cape Breton. You're driving along, past Bras D'Or Lake, and suddenly ... Simpsons. :)
I like how this character is parodied in this episode, and the April Fools clip show episode via Barney.
"I can't stand to see him like this!"
This arranged horribly with no seeding, and can't be taken seriously, because you're just eliminating cream of the crop episodes right away. Seriously, pitting season 10 against season 2 while season 6 fights amongst itself? What kind of stupidity is that?
Just awful, should've done some forethought instead of just putting two up there and say this the fighting now (not that your commentary isn't good).
Something like this : http://www.allourideas.org/ would've been a much better idea.
Edit: I made it, http://www.allourideas.org/bestsimpsons , go check it out.
I Don't Wanna Know Why the Caged Bird Sings aka "The Steve Buscemi episode".
Great lines, classic feel, even the first inner-monologue with Homer's brain in a while. The ending sorta flops but its still a pretty solid late-season episode.
> Homer, you miss too many precious moments in your childrens' lives!
> Really?? Name twelve!!
Here's the definitive collection of books from The Simpsons
It's literally just hundreds of pages of screenshots from the show, every time a book is shown.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0170TBWAK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Found it browsing Amazon and it was an impulse buy, I feel like it's worth the price, the colors are vibrant and it's pretty soft. I haven't washed it yet so I dunno how the colors and stuff hold up.
This subreddit in particular is heavily biased towards older seasons, to the point where they'll often ignore and downvote most newer-season clips and pics (I.E. season 14+), so it's unlikely that you'll get a straight answer.
I think you should watch and make your own decision based on how you like the episodes. You may not like them, you might like them, but it's up to you.
I do recommend the following episodes, just offhand:
Sure. I'll start from season 14 like you did, although in my opinion, the decline started in season 10. These are episodes I consider at least moderately above average:
14: The Great Louse Detective; Special Edna; The Dad Who Knew Too Little; The Bart of War; Moe Baby Blues
15: I, (Annoyed Grunt)-bot; Margical History Tour; The Ziff Who Came to Dinner
16: Treehouse of Horror XV; Mommie Beerest; Pranksta Rap; Don't Fear the Roofer; A Star is Torn
17: My Fair Laddy; Kiss Kiss, Bang Bangalore; Girls Just Want to Have Sums
18: The Haw-Hawed Couple; Little Big Girl; Homerazzi; Marge Gamer; 24 Minutes
19: Funeral for a Fiend; Eternal Moonshine of the Simpson Mind; The Debarted; Dial 'N' for Nerder
20: No Loan Again, Naturally; Gone Maggie Gone; Eeny Teeny Maya Moe
21: Chief of Hearts; The Bob Next Door
22: MoneyBart; Donnie Fatso; Moms I'd Like to Forget; Homer the Father; The Blue and the Gray; The Great Simpsina; Homer Scissorhands
23: The Falcon and the D'ohman; The Book Job; Holidays of Future Passed; How I Wet Your Mother
24: Hardly Kirk-ing; The Saga of Carl
25: Yellow Subterfuge; Steal This Episode; The War of Art; Brick Like Me
26: Sky Police
27: Halloween of Horror; The Marge-ian Chronicles
And it initially cost $699. That's about 10x the price of a decent regular juicer that, you know, can handle actual fruits and vegetables that you get at the supermarket for a fraction of these single use packets.
Ok, so Bill Clinton co-wrote a book called
The President is Missing, and I always fill in the title in my mind to read "The President's Neck is Missing."
Always makes me chuckle thinking that ole POTUS referenced Troy McClure in his book
Thank you!
Lord Bezos brought me these red hi tops, but apparently I got the last pair because they are now out of stock.
I have searched all over the internet to see if anyone has a picture of baby Leon but I can’t find it.
If there are any fellow Austrians the book is on Amazon.de

This bit of course was a throwback to American Graffiti which along side the Hollywood Knights is one of my dad's all time favorite movies.
Scene here: http://www.metacafe.com/watch/an-xJemJnYJnhbJmm/american_graffiti_1973_trying_to_get_liquor_at_store/
Reminds me of my favorite prank call to Moe:
MOE: "Homer Sexual? Aw come one, one of you guys has gotta be Homer Sexual!"
Homer: "Heh-heh! Don't look at me!"
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/alt.tv.simpsons/SGJITB72HqU (Search for radioactive man and you will find it around halfway down the page) That scene appears to have been cut from syndication.
Oh no problem! Sorry to give away a couple clues there! If you have an Android phone, a great app is Shortyz. But if you're going to work on the ones in the paper, they generally get harder as the week goes on, so don't get discouraged by a Friday or Saturday puzzle!
A cheap touch screen android phone. Something like this
I'm in Australia so this thing is also like 45 bucks in USD.
Phones are cheap as shit if you just want a basic web/mail/phone/games thing.
The short answer: A lot. If you're really interested in "learning" from the simpsons check out this book. It takes the show to another level.
They build a real-world replica of the house once. It was 2200 square feet. That is decidedly NOT huge. That's the size of an end-unit townhouse where I live.
Edit: and the house at the time was apparently worth "upwards of $125k" in 1997 - again, not a fortune.
Admittedly the real house was down-scaled a bit, but the real house would not be "fucking huge".
You can find both "a date" and "[odd date](http://simpsons.wikia.com/wiki/Who_Shot_Mr._Burns%3F_(Part_Two\)/Quotes)" when googling.
I always heard it as odd date too.
I had to wait until I got home but I created this about fifteen years ago, which is why it's still a WAV file. It's the sound Homer makes when he does this "running in circles on the ground" hooting, but reversed and over-layed to play simultaneously forward and backward over each other. http://www.4shared.com/audio/jfmeoei5/yeah.html
If I had to guess, I’d say the Flash is trying to download a webfont from somewhere and it’s failing.
You might try running something like https://www.charlesproxy.com to watch all the outgoing web requests and see if there’s one coming from the Flash that’s failing.
Of course, even if you find this support file, you’ll probably need to set up a server and override DNS to properly serve it to the Flash.
Normally I’d say not to bother but you’ve already gone so much farther than I’d have bothered to, I’d like to see you make it work ;-)
Amazon has the complete series on DVD.
Looks like Crackle has episodes as well, but I've never used that streaming app so can't vouch for it.
Apparently people don’t know how to read the post lol.
Regardless, your best answer is from upinthecrowsnest. Get a VPN (like NordVPN), make your connection appear as if you’re in the USA (it’s in the settings and easy to google how to do), and subscribe to Disney+. Your connection will basically “pretend” as if it’s an American one so Disney+ will become available. You can change the connection location back and forth if you want Poland specific sites to work or even other sites from around the world.
Amazon has it for $28.66 + $12.95 shipping.
EDIT: it will only work in a region 4 dvd player, didn't see that until after.
I'm really excited to say it's now available with free shipping on Amazon Prime!

Or you can get a free sticker with it from my Etsy page!

Thanks everyone you guys are the best!
I've grown up on The Simpsons and still watch it today. So I decided to make a Simpsons Quiz for Android on the Google Play Store.
You can find it at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.slyslothgames.simpsonsquiz
The game consists of 370 questions over four categories:

Characters Locations
Quotes Trivia

I really hope you enjoy it, I had lots of fun making it. If you have any feedback or additional categories I should add I'd love to hear it!
I have the "ultimate" episode guide which goes up to season 20
https://www.amazon.com/dp/0061711284/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_Q3ZHFbR2NQ850
its crazy to think even that huge book is missing +13 srasons and running
Please post if it works out. Obviously you may have to make some concessions like the cuffs may have a stripe on them or something. But it would still be pretty cool.
You could also do something like this and dye the collar red perhaps? Especially if you find a dark denim jacket
There is a PC version for it, but it isn't available on the common places like Steam, so you'd need to get the actual CD-Rom version of it. There are other ways to get it, but I doubt its something I'm actually allowed to share here.
Don't know if there's an FXNow app (or whatever app will be required) but if you could get an FXNow login, and use a DNS service like Unblock-Us, you should be able to access it in Australia once its released.
Maybe take this opportunity to learn something about actual astronomy.
Your blurry pictures, and insinuation that it MUST be a mega structure is ridiculous. There is nothing in those pictures that indicate it is an artificial structure. Nothing. Read up on the "Face Of Mars" that turned out to be.... surprise! a rock formation. Or the canals, which turned out to be... in the observers imagination.
As I said there are thousands of people taking pictures of the moon at any given time. There are many, many, many, many high quality pictures of the moon on those exact dates you point out that show nothing of what you are assuming is there.
Show a little skepticism. Don't fall in to conspiracy theories. You should read this book called Bad Astronomy. Because that's what you are doing. Bad astronomy.
Horses for Courses, I guess. Still, Season 25 has been really top-notch stuff for the most part. Labor Pains, Steal This Episode, The War of Art, Treehouse of Horror XXIV, Yellow Subterfuge are all awesome.
The plots seem a lot more simple. And there is a lot less focus on "one timers" or just unimportant characters.
Check out "Steal This Episode" or "The War of Art" Both are good and provide a good view on some popular subjects.
Alternitvely "Diggs" has a guest star of Daniel Radcliffe and he DOESNT PLAY HIMSELF!!! Thats another thing that sorta makes it feel like the older ones. I didn't care for it all that much but everyone here seemed to say it was great.
"Luca$" was pretty hilarious too and it had Zach Galifianakis playing this competitive eater kid that Lisa develops a crush on. Thus leaving Marge worried Lisa will marry someone like Homer which leads to drama.
Sure no problem. Here's a link https://www.amazon.co.uk/Simpsons-Complete-Season-DVD/dp/B00005NGUN/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1476640070&sr=8-6&keywords=simpsons+season+box+sets From what I can tell, it's a legit copy since it's actually sold by Amazon themselves.
It looks like, according to Amazon, that it might have been season 15 in the US. Unfortunately here in the UK they are still DVDs for the moment.
My sister gave that to me and I still haven't gotten around to getting the others. I really should put that in the bathroom. Is this worth buying when compared to the post
Hmm, you can buy all of the bracelets them from Amazon (along with some stickers) for $15.00, but there aren't too many lots left in stock. There's also a Buy It Now auction on eBay for $7.00 (minus the stickers from the Amazon lots), and the seller has at least ten lots available.
Oooor... You could buy set of 250 bracelets in those little capsules for those toy vending machines for about $75.00 to $100.00 from specialty sellers! Woo-hoo!
yeah it doesn't work on a tablet unless you have a flash player installed. try https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.browser.flashfox&hl=en if you're on android. works for me. sometimes a little buggy.
