Zerex G-05 Antifreeze/Coolant 50/50
Went through that journey a few years back when doing my coolant change on my Triumph T-Bird. Landed on this after plenty of forums. Similar to the OEM.
Most important characteristics of HD4X: HOAT, Low Silicate, High Nitrite

I don't remember where I bought my kit and I don't see it in my amazon history but its sort of like this. The spouse's car uses a couple types of them too but typically they are out of sight. Car Retainer Clips

Took /u/Agammamon 's advice and decided to keep the rounds on instead of swapping to the bug eyes. The LED lights came from Amazon and are crazy bright. Took about 30 mins to swap both.
Great recommendation.

It's not much use back there so the obvious thing to do is to run an extension along the loom to where you need it at the front. if you do then you should seal the join with this stuff
I use this: http://www.haynes.com/products/productID/422
Haynes manuals are really good (at least in my opinion coming from a shop manual), and written to make understanding how to do the work pretty straight forward.

Amazon usually has EBC pads in stock. Pretty sure the rear brake pad on my Speed Triple is the same pad for the front on a Thruxton. Check for yourself before your order
Amber Fog light I bought from Amazon.
I bought it to actually use. I did a 3K mile trip last summer and I SORELY needed a fog light when I was in the Appalachian fog. Have not tested it in fog yet to tell you how well it (edit: The amber lense) works. It's bright though. I also want to mount it lower but have yet to make the bracket for it.

I randomly came across this book,
Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance: An Inquiry Into Values https://www.amazon.com/dp/0060589469/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_luTqybJZ9JNNA
and everything just clicked. This book outlines the connection between man and machine and will bring a different meaning to riding.
The second part gets a bit spiritual but the first half is an amazing read for any rider.
Fun fact: Henry Winkler doesn't know how to ride a motorcycle. :)
"Turns out, Winkler only "rode" a motorcycle in a handful of quick shots; perhaps most noticeably when pulling into Arnold's drive-in restaurant.
"I was on the bike," explained Winkler. "I was supposed to go about five feet... I went five feet at about 90 miles an hour. I'm not kidding. And the man who was the Director of Photography was sitting right in front of me. I watched him fly. I dropped the bike. We slid under the sound truck. They came running over and they pulled the bike out -- because they rented it -- then they pulled me out!
"But here's the thing," continued Winkler. "The second bike I used, which was a Triumph, was the same bike that Steve McQueen used to jump the fence in 'The Great Escape'."

Update: called the dealership in town and they think it is the radiator cap since it has been in use for almost 9 years and is probably loose/cracked. They told me to replace the cap and top off the fluid. I am gonna try this out and see what happens.

Full disclosure - didn't get the halo working because the Triumph has a 3 pin connector instead of a 4 pin but it is so very much better than stock I don't care.
Thanks! I made a post a while back, they are actually like 15 dollar kids bags found on amazon. Perfect for sidecover bags, just need a bit of modding if you ride at highway speed
I’ve always gotten some cheap ones on amazon that help up great over time. I just bought [these](Bar End Mirrors, KEMIMOTO Motorcycle 7/8” Handle Bar End Side Mirrors for Suzuki, Honda, Kawasaki, Scooters, Aprilia, Triumph Speed Triple Updated https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071S21FV8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_C7qsBb1QN44NY for my speed triple I am picking up tomorrow.
I’ll get them Sunday and let you know how they are.
Resistance doesn't really enter into the equation. The light will draw as much wattage (or rather, amps) it needs, which is considerably less than the 55 watts or whatever of the Halogen bulb. Less current flowing means less strain on the wiring and everything else.
Your regulator/rectifier will, however, most likely have to work a little harder to deal with excess left-over energy from the stator, but a few watts here or there isn't crucial. For a gold star and extra credit the R/R can be replaced with a Shindengen series-type R/R, they lower the strain on the stator. But this is definitely not a necessity, just a way to possibly extend the life of the stator, and applicable to all bikes really, not specifically LED upgraded ones.
The most "normal-looking" 7-inch LED that's also performing quite well would also be relatively cheap, the Truck-Lite Phase 7 (or 27270... or some such). Under $200 on Amazon. However, the glass lens does stick out a bit; to get these looking good you might need a "frenched" trim ring, ie extended out from the headlight. Most LED reflectors look more radical, with multiple lenses and whatnot, though.
https://www.amazon.com/Truck-Lite-27270C-LED-Headlamp-High/dp/B013FX3YWO/
Worth noting that all LED headlight reflectors put the light exactly where they're supposed to. Which means there is much less spill light. Which means that when you lean hard, the headlights will fire a lot of light straight into the pavement next to you and not a lot into the turn.
This is why JW Speaker made the adaptive lineup. They literally turn on more LED's as you lean to light up the corner for you. Pricey as shit, though.

One minor upgrade I did was add rear spools. It makes lifting the bike from the back much easier and more secure. I also recommend a tank pad to protect the paint from your zipper. I got this one on amazon. Blends right in. I bought it a year ago and it still hasn’t gotten cloudy or yellow at all.
It doesn't put out enough juice to charge a lot of modern phones I think. My s22+ won't even register it's plugged in, but it will charge something slowly like earbuds.

I have them on my 2020 Street Triple didn't have to modify anything. I mean, i did have to buy new bar finishers, but it was all bolt on. no cutting or anything permanent.
>Thanks for the link to the LED headlight bulb! Just put it in today and it does make a pretty good difference. Hoping if nothing else that it will make me more visible to others.
Definitely seems worth the price, but will never match a big led light.
> >Also, if you're interested, I got a small $6 LED for the tiny "Position" bulb that's also located in the headlight assembly. It matches the color of the headlight bulb and looks pretty good. Just had to spin the contacts around 180 degrees and it worked. > >Link to the position bulb. It's actually a 4-pack so you'll have plenty of extras! The 2 packs were the same price. lol
Just bought one, didn't even think about it. What does this bulb even do?

Thanks for the information about the dresser bars, that's good to know. I still haven't decided whether I'm going to buy them or not, so I guess aftermarket would be good to consider.
For the headlight bulb, I bought this one: Link. It works very well, been satisfied with it so far. Night visibility is good, but not great. It is just a bulb, so it looks basically stock except the color. It's easy to install, maybe 10 min or so and you just have to be a little careful to get the bar back in place, which needs a little bending honestly.
Fly screen is definitely something to think about on this bike, the wind is just full-on. That said, even at 70, I think it's manageable for me for shorter rides, and more importantly, I have heard all but the biggest wind screens are mainly cosmetic. Maybe some others can give their opinions, but I've heard the Marlin is kind of minimum size for decent wind protection.
I just rode about 15 miles with the new levers, and they are very, very adjustable, and work well for my reach (my hands are fairly small), and they look good to. I have the ASV ones: Link. With the bike having a lot of black, it honestly blends right in. I think the levers are an absolute must for those who feel like the stock levers just don't give the reach character you want for the best control of the bike.
I haven't ridden in any kind of rain yet, but I have just really enjoyed every moment on the bike, and feel like I'm charging up the learning curve, trying to get safer and more capable every ride. I think someone said it the other day that it's hard to be sad on a Triumph and I have to agree so far. Happy riding!
Nope. Modern battery tenders are automatic and will do a "trickle charge" where it'll keep battery topped off once it has lost charge over time. They're designed to keep the battery in good condition for situations like this. For a motorcycle storage, you don't need to go crazy and get the best one with the best amps. The battery tender jr will work fine for your case (https://www.amazon.com/Battery-Tender-021-0123-Junior-Charger/dp/B000CITK8S). However if you can spend a little more I would recommend the battery tender plus (https://www.amazon.com/Battery-Tender-021-0128-Maintain-Damaging/dp/B00068XCQU/ref=pd_lpo_3?pd_rd_i=B00068XCQU&psc=1). The difference is amps and the more amps just means faster charging times and the plus model just gives you more wiggle room on that.
Look into the ABUS locks with alarms. I have a slightly older model that's absolutely enormous for my Rocket, but they make good ones that are a bit more modest.
The alarmed once aren't bargain basement priced but you only need to buy a disc brake lock for life - or until it's destroyed in a theft I guess.
https://www.amazon.com/ABUS-Granit-Detecto-XPlus-8008/dp/B01HGKG9QA - top of the line I believe.
The 8077 is slightly lesser but still solid and alarmed https://www.amazon.com/Abus-Brake-disc-Granit-Detecto/dp/B01AG1MTBA

It's 3M Scotch-Brite (TM) 7447 Purpose Maroon. This grade of pad is specifically selected for this type of header. (don't use it on chrome, it's too coarse) (and also, I shouldn't have to tell you: don't use it on black coated headers) You can get them in 6x9 sheets on amazon. The color grades go like this:
Additionally the polish I have selected seems to have a slight abrasive which is good for this type of brushed finish header. If I where removing color from chrome I would use a different application technique and maybe the "Blue Job" polish the other guy mentioned. (I don't work on chrome stuff much)
Can confirm this one works in my Daytona with TuneECU, torque etc. Used it to clear EML and fault codes when I messed up my daytona trying to fit a speedohealer (don't ask...). Haven't tried it on my speed RS though but it also worked fine on my car too

Aim for 6500K as a temp for the lightbulbs. It's the perfect colour otherwise it's too white.
I specifically bought these ones : Link to H4 leds on Amazon
As for the parking lights, you have to go the same colour. I can't find the Phillips one I bought 6 years ago but look for "T10 LED W5W" on Amazon and you'll have plenty of choice.
Try to find ones that are quite discreet (like not ones where you see yellow leds) so they don't stand out when bike is off
The result for me was perfect My bike with the LEDs
I didn't do side by side picture but on forums they did and oh boy
I'm in California and the first few trips on the highway with those tires made me wonder if something was wrong with the bike! The new tires seemed to follow the grooves in the road and made it feel like the front end was sliding around. Once they got a bit grippier that went away, but it had me worried!
That's the kind of screen I have. It works pretty well, but if you position it really vertically (which cuts the most wind), it reflects the light from the top of the headlight back into your eyes. I ended up putting some black tape along the top of the headlight, which isn't ideal. If you position it "properly" it doesn't reflect, but you get a lot less wind protection.

amperage is a too high for a bike battery,
if you want one that can do car and bike then something like this CTEK 5 it can be switched between car and bike suitable modes.
if you only need it for a bike then this CTEK 0.8 is suitable for smaller capacity batteries like on a motorcycle.
you do not have to use this brand - it may not even be available where you live - but it is a good example of the type of charger that will be most appropriate

It was blue, but I discovered that I could use Sharpies to recolor it. It’s not perfect, but it turned out pretty well.
Someone probably decided to take it with them, then, as a momento.
Doing the oil change on these is super easy to do yourself, the only catch is that you need a funnel with a long narrow spout on it, similar to this to get behind the exhaust pipes and to the fill plug. Also do your self a favor and get a K&N oil filter with the nut on the bottom and will be even easier the next time.
nice. In the meantime, I bought this jack to lift the rear wheel. My hope is the saddle-adapters will touch the frame only, not the oil pan which extends down about .5 inch past frame. It arrives today, I'll post a picture when I test it out.

I’ve done it on a long trip when I really needed it and I don’t think it’s worth the hassle to it to the front long term. Unless you’re willing to take off the tank and run it underneath, it won’t look good.
I would get one of THESE
They work well but don’t leave them out in the rain or they won’t work well after that.
i'm fairly comfortable from 20 degrees and above, below that is only okay for a very short ride. So i wear either thick hiking socks, or electric heated socks if its below 25. Welding would be the proper fix, but sometimes that's just not feasible. there are specific sealants for gas tanks
Instead of running the USB cable up, I used something like the below. This gives me a USB plugs near my triple tree. This way I can plug a cable in for my phone or something else and put it in a tank bag or something if it's not going into a handlebar mount. This also means that if I don't have something plugged into it, I don't have power running to a cable end that'd be always exposed.

Funnily enough I've just been helping my GF with hers this afternoon. She's got everything that you have and today we just added bar end mirrors, which she really likes. She's also got a rack and I put a pair of very loud horns on it too. This takes care of the chain and is well worth it.

This one worked with my 2012 Street Triple. I think I had to Google what the code meant (I’d left a sensor unplugged) but for $22, I don’t mind having to look things up.
That's about what my partner ended up paying for hers. The good news is that she loves it. Her biggest additions were a screen, centre stand and luggage rack. She's also just fitted tank rubbers and I put much louder horns on it.
I didn't take into consideration amp draw... Just voltage, but no blown fuses or anything, but didn't expect issues as it's essentially considered to match OEM specs. I went with this off of Amazon though. I figured the horn would help project it more, but can't really angle this forward as it'd end up collecting road debris and water. But even pointing down it gets attention without being too obnoxious, and sounds more like a car horn than the anemic *meep* originally.
MZS Bar End Mirrors Universal 7/8... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B089GN9SRP?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share. These are cheap, functional, and look great. I dump my bike a few times a year- drawback of barends. And i have a backup set ready to go. The mirrors can be left or right, so one extra set is worth 2 breaks. Maybe something like this. I think a better option might be to get a flasher designed for leds

Thanks for the help! That was my thought exactly. I do like how the fly screen looks, not a particular fan of bigger wind screens and only do longer highway rides occasionally so the universal screen over the fly screen may be the way to go. This shows $104 at the moment which is slightly cheaper than normal. They also come in different finishes, like “Vintage” if you don’t like the black and chrome look.
Yeah that’s ridiculous. You could maybe use something like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07S649YJR/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_zBO2FbE223NY8
That’s a very low quality one but I’ve seen nicer ones out there. Just clamps onto the forks.
I understand where you're coming from for the integrated tail light deal. I prefer to have my flashing indicators be as obvious as possible. They're not there for any other purpose but to announce that I'm doing shit I want other people noticing I'm doing, you know? I am thinking of installing a BackOff unit to flicker my brake light though. Do miss that from my old VStar 1100 I'd put one on. Anything useful to help raise awareness of my presence helps.
I did swap the relay on mine, it was something like $11 on Amazon as well. (Edit:This one here for $10.99) Easy plug-and-play swap. It's right by the battery, just pop your seat off and there it is.
Real book deals come with editors, you're one step above self-publishing on Amazon. You're in the same class of 'professional scifi writer' as https://www.amazon.com/Taken-T-Rex-Dinosaur-Erotica/dp/B00GT06XB0/ yet they sell better than yours.
I've downloaded a few kindle samples and it's hilariously bad writing and I was one of the people who hated how the sub was obsessed with some nobody writer. The only thing that made me come around to the idea was your severe arrogance which far outpaces your ability as a writer.
I guess there's enough other functional retards at your scifi conventions spending their gov cheques to keep your lights on. Quite the accomplishment there.
Yea that's what I'm thinking, although maybe something like this might work considering the rigidity and straps.
I spent too much time looking for the perfect LED replacement for my Street Twin and got this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08BC4G48W/
Very happy with it. It fits perfectly and produce more light than the stock halogen bulb while producing less heat and using less electricity.
Thanks! This the Angeles Crest Highway just outside of LA. Its about 60 miles of riding just like this when it's fully open. Talk about awesome!
As for audio and video, its a GoPro Hero 7 Black mounted on top of the instrument cluster and it's covered with this little foam wind sock I found on Amazon. It really works wonders!
I ran these. They are apparently the the same as the Triumph branded ones, except these aren't plug and play.
Somewhere in between, actually. Imagine Spaghetti-Os but a milder tomato sauce flavor, and then beans instead of pasta and that's pretty close. It's a tomato sauce instead of the sweet brown sugar flavor of Busch's baked beans.
In the states I find Heinz Beans in the international isle of my local grocery.
You can also get one of these.
Just roll up on it and you can spin the wheel. I like paddock stands too, but the pipes on a Bonnie tend to get in the way.
If you don't have one, get one of those good grime buster brushes like this https://www.amazon.com/AUTDER-Motorcycle-Cleaning-Mountain-Maintain/dp/B07PLV7MFZ/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?dchild=1&keywords=grim+brush+for+chain+motorcycle&qid=1600468973&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEyVjA0MDVaQVE2OEg3JmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwMDk1MTI0MUNQNDNXN0ZSWDlRNCZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwMjIwODY4M1BCN0tNWDI3R1E0MyZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX2F0ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU=
Ah yeah, you got a nice price. That fairing alone is about 2 grand if I remember right.
I got these headlights - Wisamic 5-3/4 5.75 inch LED... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01L1SK9Y6?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I’ll say they’re mostly plug and play, but it was a bit more of a pain to get em in and clamped than I expected. I did have to flip the retainer ring on the left light and bend a tab to make em fit. No issues after install tho.
These are the turn signal bulbs - Inertia LED - RY10W, BAU15S,... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B018UWBPK8?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Pop right in. You’ll get fast flash if you turn em on with the engine off, but once the engine is on they sync with the can-bus and flash normally. Little pricey, but cheapest option given the work you need to do to get other bulbs to work right.
You can add some heat shielding to the bottom of the seat. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0833WGP9S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_iG0qFbBYFTVCC https://www.revzilla.com/dirt-bike/moose-racing-heat-shield?gclid=Cj0KCQjwp4j6BRCRARIsAGq4yMEuULtiMf81oll5Q5lJzUFObOZOu7lHiCpVxEbRqoHgbemvjVVxBNsaApTAEALw_wcB
Here’s the set I bought. This company makes the Triumph branded indicators as well. Even the company’s PDF says triumph in the pic 🤣
Thanks. The clock I got from Amazon: Oxford OF218B Black Analogue Clock for Outdoor Vehicles : https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004GOONSG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I made the frame that is holding the clock.

I got this one on amazon a while back mainly for the look. Definitely not as high quality as the other options but seems to work well at low speeds. Can’t really feel a big difference at higher speeds unless you’re tucked down (+60mph).

I got this one from Amazon. After a few big packages and probably improper wrapping (I’d wrap it around the seat when not in use in the future) it’s got slight stretch. Still useful whenever needed.

It’s called wash wax all, by aero cosmetics. It’s a little steep but you get so much and it’s the best one I have used so far.
For everyone who wants to know.
The helmet mount is a MotoRadds Chin Mount from Amazon. It's pretty solid value, I've had it on my helmet for a year now with no issues.
Thanks! I wanted a simple mesh grill. Nothing fancy, no branding, a simple grill. Found this sucker on Amazon for less then $20.

Cheap and accomplished the cosmetic goal.
I purchased an OBD sensor from Amazon and it works great for this. I have not used the function to replace fuel maps BUT I know it is on the TuneECU app as well as available maps (not all exhausts will have a map to load though so maybe look for one first).
I have used mine to check error codes, run tests on my radiator fan, and adjust throttle bottles on my 2013 Street Triple R so I know yours will work too. Just make sure you have an Android device as ours does not work with the Windows version.
Here is a link to the one I purchased along with the $10 TuneECU app on the Google Play store: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005NLQAHS/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_byzzEbPJXSACF
Yes, you want the BFX one on Amazon for ~$24 IIRC on the price, but it's definitely that one. Use it myself, works like a charm. Gotta start the bike and use the killswitch to stop the motor, but leaving the electronics on, and then you can do the things. Reset the service interval reminder, flush the ABS, etc. For things the bike's running for like throttle body balancing, easy enough to do too.
Edit: This is it: https://www.amazon.com/BAFX-Products-Wireless-Bluetooth-Diagnostic/dp/B005NLQAHS
Chain maintenance is a bit of a rabbit hole, with 10 riders having 15 different opinions.
My process is to spray chain oil onto a dirty chain, give that a brushing with a chain cleaning tool, and finally a clean rag to remove excess.
I used to use kerosene to clean, and had great results making the chain sparkle. But I stopped after the Fortnine video the other poster mentioned. Besides, the immaculate chain was dirty the instant my bike saw rain.
Added 3 pouches on the bag for a little more versatility and organization. Not bad fit. Military molle webbing system. Small pouch (fits phone, wallet, and such things), water bottle pouch ( looks like it could hold a 32oz easy) , and a large pouch (could fit a roll up tool kit-ish)
Got it on amazon

TuneECU lets you read the current map and save it to your laptop. For the cable, look for something that supports VW/Audi cars since that will support the specific ISO standard Triumph uses (ISO-9141-2). This should work: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B00K6498D0
