From their FAQ:
>Am I allowed to run multiple Foundry Virtual Tabletop servers with a single license key?
>Example 2 (Permitted): Your gaming group plays two ongoing campaigns. You are the game-master for one campaign which meets on Wednesdays; for that campaign you host the Foundry Virtual Tabletop server which is accessible to everyone during the game session. On Saturdays your friend is the game-master and they host the Foundry Virtual Tabletop server using the same (shared) license key. Only one Foundry Virtual Tabletop game server is accessible at any given time. This usage is allowed with a single Foundry Virtual Tabletop license key.
In short, generally speaking, so long as the license is only being used on one server at a time, it's portable.
What's "simple" and "easy" for the first two items?
Shmeppy probably has the simplest usable maps on the market, but it does pretty badly on almost anything else (by choice, mostly).
The Tokenizer module for Foundry is probably the easiest integrated token tool I've found, if you're just pasting online images anyway it saves you a few clicks compared to e.g. TokenTool.
But speaking of the *Tool sphere, MapTool has a pretty simple basic "character sheet", where you just have "properties" and then you can use them in macros. That would allow you to e.g. have one where you select the attribute and the skill from drop down boxes (which having the "regular" usages on separate macros, for easier access).
An import tool from e.g. a spreadsheet to tokens would be neat, and I think both Foundry and MapTool would be candidates for that.
(I think generally you could do a lot more with just a few simple macros instead of trying to model all nooks and corners of a rule system. Of course, systems like D&D and 5E, with constant changes by leveling-up and buffing make this a lot harder)
I'd recommend exporting as a PNG from Dungeondraft, then using an app like Irfanview (or just an online converter like cloudconvert https://cloudconvert.com/png-to-webp) to make it a Webp format file (assuming the VTT you're using supports it). Or, export as PNG, then use one of the online png compressors to squeeze it down a bit.
There are a few official ones, or you can set one up using an AWS or similar, but it requires a bit of know how, however there are plenty of people on the foundry discord and reddit who have done it, so you can get help.
The official ones are linked below. (I use the Forge and very happy with it as I think that is the only one that has a market place for premium maps and adventures that you can purchase directly and they are also working with DnD beyond to be able to import your books owned there into Foundry (in beta and patreon required at the moment)
The other benefit of the Forge is that they have servers in 4 parts of the world to speed things up, which for me being in Australia is awesome.
For me, self-hosting was as easy as finding the option in the menu for the invite link, which my players could click on and join.
Setting up the hosting option (I used forge but there are a few dedicated hosts for foundry) required signing up to the host much like roll20, entering my credit card details, and sending the link to players.
If you are a discord user, the people on the foundry discord are pretty good at helping people set up port stuff if you want to self host and it turns out you need to do it.
According to be FAQ. there is a 30 day refund window, so you could try it and see if it works for you.
But it may be worth trying some of the free options too. Nearly everything is feature comparable to roll20.
I use foundry with a projector in a two computer setup. I have my laptop which runs foundry and then I have another laptop connected to the projector, which connects to foundry under an Observer player that has ownership of all player tokens.
Then I use this foundry mod, https://foundryvtt.com/packages/monks-common-display, to control what is displayed on the observer laptop / projector.
Sometimes we use minis and I just move the player's token to match where their mini is.

I have also used MapTool in the same two computer setup and it works great as well.
I just checked, Foundry has the following systems supported, so I suspect you could work something out. The guys and gals on the Foundry Discord are super helpful, so I recommend checking in there. anyway here are the systems that you mentioned above that are supported:Mutant Year Zero (not sure if this is the same game as you play, there is also Year Zero Engine - Coriolis)
Tales from the Loop
Forbidden Lands
FFG Star Wars
Alien RPG
Edit - the complete list can be found here:https://foundryvtt.com/packages/systems
Please note that those artpacks are exclusively for use in Battlegrounds: RPG Edition and/or Battlegrounds Gaming Engine (both are VTT programs).
The media they contain cannot be extracted for use in other VTT apps.
The artpacks are provided for free to help offset the cost of the software itself, and as a "thank you" to BRPG and BGE users.
Well the base CoreRPG ruleset will let you play almost any RPG out there. And the community has built a bunch of rulesets that has some automation for different systems.
See list at the bottom http://www.fantasygrounds.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page
What are you looking at using it with?
If you are looking for modules/systems, check out the Foundry site and join the discord for systems etc... in development. There area ton of systems being actively developed for, the discord will give you more information there.
FoundryVTT has WFRP system support although I havent tried it. Seems to receive semi-regular updates and has some module support (not as much as 5e but most generic modules work with it)
Download for iOS
Download for Android
Been living in a cave for quite some time now I wonder if these kinds of jpegs (card) work within VTTs or not? Feedback is much appreciated. Thanks for having a look!
Hello my friend!
I have been using this tabletop rpg app for android for a while and i have been enjoying it. It is a pretty simple app. Not complete, but mostly free and substitutes paper maps in my campaings, so it is already good to me.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.Tomorrow.Roll20TabletopRpgMaps
It has been pretty usable to me for a long time and i think it is the best tabletop rpg app on android for offline campaign management.
Foundry seems to fit all these criteria best. it's 50$ one time for the license and if you don't have the knowledge to host the webserver yourself, you can choose from a variety of hosts here https://foundryvtt.com/article/partnerships/ I've been using foundry for a few months now, feel free to PM me with more questions. I also have roll20/Fantasy grounds unity experience as a player, so I have the experience necessary for comparisons.
Since you use Foundry, have you tried the new Dungeon Draw module? It is so much better than the built in tools. It has textures, patterns, walls, door, etc. , without being complex.
I love Foundry and consider it one of the best, however for a non 5E user they need to browse the systems and make sure the games they are interested in are supported.
Once you get away from 5E and Pathfinder 2E the support can vary. Free League's games and Swade have incredibly good support and some fantastic premium modules available. Very obscure games might not have any support. Custom building it via sandbox or simple worldbuilding system could be a serious effort depending on the complexity of the system.
It probably has the games they want, but it is best for them to double check.
> if you use it for a complete homebrew you are likely keeping the sheets in google docs or sheets and use Foundry only for chat, seeing scenes, maps, tokens
This is not necessarily true. Sandbox and Simple Worldbuilding System both allow no-code custom sheets.
I haven't used them and am not sure how flexible/pleasant they are, but there are options for adding basic sheet support without programming.
You could check out Foundry VTT, you can self host or run it through a server and there is a great community around the software. You can check our r/FoundryVTT as well.
I used Realm Works for about two years, it has a lot of great features but be aware that Lone Wolf is no longer updating it as they are concentrating on their online tools.
Had a game yesterday and tried to capture the feel. https://snipboard.io/jz5PwL.jpg The minis on camera was an experiment my friend who was running was trying (we didn't end up using it).
There is Fantasy Grounds. It's a paid application but you can just get the Standard license and that would do what you want. Run two instances, one as a player and one as a GM. The player instance is what you display on the projector. Using your GM view you can mask maps and only reveal portions. You can apply grids and drop tokens on there to represent characters and monsters. You can also use the combat tracker, manually enter initiative (or roll it for monsters or everyone) and always know who's next and quickly. I do that for my offline games and it works great.
You can also pick up Fantasy Grounds on Steam. Every few months the licenses go on sale for about 20/25% off. There's also a subscription available if you want. You don't need an internet connection either to run it and all maps and such are local to your computer too.
If you have any questions just ask and I'd be happy to help out!
If you have the books on DND beyond, there's an importer that can import the content right into foundry.
This can import all the spells you own, allows a seamless import for characters (create your characters in dndbeyond and paste a link).
Yes. See Step 2 in the instructions:
https://foundryvtt.com/article/installation/
In terms of supporting players, the actual interface is web based. So when they connect to your computer (or server) it will be done through their web browser.
Edit: Also I know you were looking for self hosted options, but you can also host through The Forge. Which costs about the same as a license for a years worth of service. https://forge-vtt.com/plans
Can I interest you in Foundry VTT?
Its currently in Patron Beta but is releasing next month, I have been using it since December since we built a gaming table and just recently switched to using it online.
Once released it will be a one time purchase with free update support. Its also self hosted which means you control all the data and can be hosted locally or on a server, the creator just announced partnerships with some hosting places to set up and host for people who don't want to bother with setting up there own server as well.
I probably sound like a shill but it has saved me so much time with how easy it is to learn and use. It's being made by a single developer who just wants to make a good tool for DM's to host games and the progress made over just the few months I've been a part of the community has been immense and the year prior more so.
The community is another really positive thing. The Foundry discord is full of excellent people ready to help and troubleshoot as well as just get you up to speed when your starting out. The creator also started the project with community developed Modules/plugins in mind and has fostered quite the community of developers making a whole host of cool plugins and game systems. (Yes Foundry supports a number of game systems of which can be made buy the creator or the community.)
I could go on but if there is anything else you want to know just ask me or check out the web page I linked above which has a ton of info and a bunch of development log videos to check out what it looks like in motion.
I second https://foundryvtt.com
It's pretty close to release and it will have pretty much all of the same features as Roll20 without being locked behind a monthly subscription.
Look into Foundry VTT (https://foundryvtt.com). It is still in Alpha/Early Beta stages but it has most of what you are looking for. At this stage, some of the stuff you are seeking aren’t fully implemented but are on the horizon.
I think you will be way more pleased with it than any kind of streaming solution you may currently be using.

Thank you.
Great, if it's a personal work than there is no need for credit. I don't know of any sorry. I would probably make my own, because that way I know that I have license to it, I can customize it and it's pretty easy and quick with something like figma.
Ah, yea, you would then have to go to a paid VPN like PureVPN since they will not have to install anything on their end. Good luck, and as Talyn said, FGU should be out soon which will solve this issue.
Have you tried using Hamachi or another VPN solution with FG? I know it's a hassle, but Hamachi is free and works. Though if you want a low hassle VPN PureVPN with dedicated IP is another known good solution.
IMO, the hassle of Hamachi is a lot less work than trying to input the whole adventure yourself.
