People, especially new to the genre, erroneounsly thinks that Resonance is part of Vaporwave when it's clear that it's not. Some people of the community seems tired to correct them over and over.
You can clearly hear that Resonance has much production while Vaporwave has another way, most of it sampling. The difference is notorious in 2014, year that HOME's album Oddysey was released. According to some comments, the songs give them nostalgia feeling, something that synthwave is based on in my opinion, while Vaporwave is based on criticism to consumerism, experimental and Muzak-inspired music; nostalgia is included, but in a second place.
Another reason (a theory) is that, long ago, Midwest Collective, label that has the album, shamelessly tagged Oddysey as "vaporwave" along with "synthwave" (which corresponds) "ambient" and "chillwave". The reason is to have more listeners, 'cause the muzak-inspired genre was more popular than synthwave and chillwave/hypnagogic pop, they thought, basically, that all the genres mentioned as tags are "cousins". As of May 2017, "vaporwave" tag is gone.
Despite being hatred and that is synthwave, stuff like that, is still part of our community to introduce the genre easily. In my personal opinion, I don't mind to correct them, I can also show them better stuff and they'll see.
According to Rate Your Music, Oddysey, where the song Resonance is included, is catalogued as "Fringewave", a vaporwave subgenre with caractheristics from my theory, check it out and maybe it may have sense .
Pretty sure I used to see these as a kid in the 2000's from my family. Also, they're prime.
because we're dealing with dinosaur technology, I only use amazon. Buncha shady looking websites out there, but to be hones they're probably just old.
Just wanted to post a quick note, a couple people are saying that the timeframe for the availability on these are super short but I want to clarify they are STILL AVAILABLE! Teesping is really misleading with their "timer" lol. The timer basically shows how much time until that current cycle of orders are printed for whoever bought, and then it auto begins again. These items will be on here for a couple weeks until the next collaboration or line of products, so do not worry about them being sold out already :)
So apparently someone on that 4chan thread you posted found some midi files and made them play with a piano vst, which kind of sounds like that g.o.d flame teaser he put out. Here's the link.
Ramp- "Daylight", 1977. Known best as the sample from A Tribe Called Quest's Bonita Applebaum, but sampled by many other people, such as Pete Rock.
It's currently $74.50 on Discogs — $20 is a steal
Just have everyone rate their favourite albums on RateYourMusic and there will be a better top whatever list.
This is my favourite music related website.
There's definitely a certain appeal for strange titles that stand out (for example: oh gosh how are you supposed to type this) but especially when people use entire sentences through Google Translate as song titles they often border either on hilarity or vulgarity, and you'll have basically no idea.
I don't want to point anyone out because I don't mean this as an insult (in fact, I rather liked the song) but I could tell one song was trying to say "She Will Be Here" when it actually meant "Here My Girlfriend Will Come"
Slow down cheesy shitty 80's music, and don't bother to put much if any effort into it. Add a filter on everything so it sounds old. Maybe do something easy but gimmicky like add field recordings you downloaded off youtube and say you recorded them yourself at a mall. Remember, vaporwave fans love stupid old shit smooth jazz tracks slowed down, so get the cheesiest ones you can find. Also lot's of synth funk tracks. Now just release a bunch of albums really fast, and you can be the next cat corp or waterfront dining. Remember to have some cliche looking aesthetic album covers, also don't try to do anything out of the ordinary or creative. Don't bother to add a good amount of chopping or manipulation. Do something lazy as shit like this: http://www.whosampled.com/sample/342604/Waterfront-Dining-Apple-Eyes-Nicole-Timmy-Thomas-New-York-Eyes/
Don't do this, people don't want to here interesting manipulations anymore: http://www.whosampled.com/sample/196248/Mediafired%E2%84%A2-Innuintendo-Queen-Innuendo/
If you have an Android device, you might wish to acquire the Vaporwave Radio app. It gives all track info, plus it allows you to adjust the stream for mood, tempo, subgenres and such. With that, you can zero in a bit better on the right feel you're looking for and find artists that nail down your tastes. It's not on the Play store; go here instead: https://apkpure.com/vaporwave-radio/com.NesCroft.VaporwaveRadio

This shows exactly that. If your a telepath fan and haven't compared the source material, I highly recommend checking this out.
A genre that was essentially gabber and a response to vaporwave being 'soft'. Many say it began with Wosx's album 'End of World Rave', though if you remember when it started you'd recall it actually began with Wosx's album Heil! by Khrist, which received a lot of backlash and he eventually took it down. The album cover was just a swastika.
I just added one of my tracks to whosampled, and I'm gonna put more on there every now and then.
alright here it is, the mixtape inspired by this very post somewhat (though I have to admit I already had the playlist half-created when I saw this. decided to dedicate Tuesday to getting it + its successor both published and live). 21 releases you may enjoy based on your request for 'weather channelesque' vapor. Enjoy!

(I want to put a comment in as well for all those who were completely disinterested in the personal history / ramble about DMT-FL that is above. I know that this is the place to come for music and that text posts are generally not the feature of /r/vaporwave and I appreciate the time to be heard/read by those this didn't annoy. To those it did though, a thousand and one apologies more <3)
$30 is super, super cheap. Sales history on Discogs ranges from $49 to $299
Someone did a lot of research and made this nice list on rateyourmusic:
https://rateyourmusic.com/list/FenrisulvenCpx/decipher-t-e-l-e-p-a-t-h/
It has samples for a lot of songs, and sources for many of the covers, including a lot of VDP stuff
That link specifically shows what's for sale. For all releases in the database period, regardless of marketplace availability -- https://www.discogs.com/search/?style_exact=Vaporwave&format_exact=8-Track+Cartridge
When are we going to get vaporwave on Edison cylinders though?
Flight is really accessible lmao, what are you talking about? It just sounds too "indietronicaish" for my liking, parts of it sound too cheesy, and I don't care for the vocals much. It's well produced but it's not my thing frankly.
> You're the one with the audacity to say you "don't care" on a post you didn't have to be involved with in the first place.
So you are admitting that you just wanted me to agree with you then. Okay got it. If you like the album, great, why do you care so much about whether I like it or not? Are you going to go on rateyourmusic and complain to the people there about it only having a measly rating of 2.91 out of 5 too? https://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/hcmj/flight/
I mean, if you really wanted to find out you could just go on forums that are specialized in that type of music, if there is any forums like that, or ask some people that listen to a lot of modern EDM, like this guy:
https://rateyourmusic.com/~bigfootisreal
I mean, I don't see why you would do that, as you would get less money that way, but I mean you could if you really wanted to.
I created an account on the video hosting site Bitchute in October 2017. It automatically backs up my uploaded videos on YouTube. This is probably the best measure to take in case VM disappears one day.
https://www.bitchute.com/channel/H5G0Avv98vUt/
I highly recommend mirroring content as much as you can on all platforms available. Unfortunately, we can't be surprised if videos get taken down or channels get suspended. Copyright claims on YouTube have always been a threat to music sharing. I've known the risk since the beginning and have gotten strikes in the past (luckily not 3 at once). Backing stuff up is the best way to keep it alive.

Dream Catalogue has stated in the 2814 TBOAND discogs review section that they are planning to repress it.
We're planning to repress it - keep an eye on our website / social media etc :)
Sure!
There's this one which was pretty good.

There was also these but I can't find them anywhere anymore. :(

Just download any random thing off of it and give it a listen, it's what I did.
Back in the mid-to-late 90's, there was a software from a company called MetaCreations called Bryce 3D. It was a very simplistic consumer-grade "3d rendering suite" that allowed you to place, rotate, and scale prefabricated primitive 'objects' (or alternatively height map meshes) inside a Cartesian grid space, apply either procedural or image textures to them (with various parametric wrapping modes - so you couldn't even tell it u,v coordinates for texture placement) and then ray trace render the scene slow as balls.
If you wanted to, you could move 'time' forward a frame, change the scene, and repeat Ad Nauseum until it can almost be called an Animation. Then you could tell it to render a 'movie' at various framerates, bearing in mind that every frame is going to take you minutes, dozens of minutes even, culminating in hundreds of hours lost on something that might not even look good, or might crash the moment it's done leaving you with nothing!
All in all it was trash. But I loved it. I sunk countless hours messing around trying to make something worthwhile when I was a teenager.
Then it was bought by corel, and then it was bought by DAZ, and now it's arguably even trashier because it's now freemium and feature-stripped to hell.
I think you can download its successor "for free" and flail at it haplessly with the procedural texture settings to see if you can get something that looks "state of the art thirty years ago" enough.
you can find it here: http://www.daz3d.com/technology/
It's also on cnet's download.com service: http://download.cnet.com/DAZ-Studio/3000-6677_4-10717523.html
Hooks and production clarity.
I think vaporwave is pretty hook reliant and without a solid hook it's easy to get lost in the noise.
One thing that grinds my gears is when someone just slows down a song and uploads it. I mean, if used tastefully (ie, as a bump into the next song) it can be really good, other than that, in my opinion, they're disposable.
Also the use of samples, I'm at the moment not good enough to write complete vapor-esque songs without samples, I've made this without samples, but it's very average, so I'm always impressed by anyone that has original stuff in their vaporwave.
If you exclude all the parody albums, there's F す べ て I N G by Bubblegirl which is surely the worst vaporwave album i've ever heard. It also has a 0.99/5 rating on RYM. Just read the reviews : https://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/bubblegirl/f_%E3%81%99_%E3%81%B9_%E3%81%A6_i_n_g/
If you want a sans font there's Roboto and Open Sans, if you want a serif font there's Amiri and Crimson Text. All can be found on Google Fonts.
I suggest also removing the barcode, and adding the disclaimer in its place with smaller font size. Make sure to share your progress in this thread!
The very first "Metrosong" compilation, featuring:
will be released on Cardboard Future after tonight's episode of Vaporwave Radio. Johnny McIvor (me) will be interviewed by Trademarks & Copyrights (bae). There will also be an interview by Stevia Sphere, a new but very talented vaporwave producer.

Thank you so much dude! you've been my fan since my very beginning so I really appreciate it :D and yes I have a radio show on This Website every monday, wednesday and friday at 10pm (GMT -3). See you there!
Future funk is a proper subgenre of vaporwave I would say, though. Definitely a narrower criteria, but in the truest sense, I feel contributing to FF is just as potential to contributing to vaporwave. But also, let's not forget how big Saint Pepsi's discography is. He was the opening act, FORTUNE_01, for the Fortune 500 label. A lot of people know Gin and Vibes and Artzie singles (love Artzie), but his back catalogue was pretty in line with traditional vaporwave too.
edit: World Tour is my favorite of his vaporwave 2012/2013 digitals. https://saintpepsi.bandcamp.com/album/world-tour
For real, this series has been maddeningly interesting to me. Heard the first 9; looking forward to the trio trio's now. 一つとして a contender for personal favorite
Kodak Cameo.
Two albums. One more acclaimed than the other but only because not as many people have heard of its sequel. Riviera is outstanding and I'll wait on the shoreline for my Riviera III until 2815.
unless everyone knows who KC is 'cept me.
These would be my top 25 releases tagged as vaporwave. I recommend them all wholeheartedly but I think you ought to go for a Kodak Cameo / Luxury Elite / Video 2000 combo.
For me it is While You Were Out by Kazumoto Endo, this what I imagine when the tag Vapor-Noise is mentioned.
>program
I use FL Studio, some others use Ableton, some use Logic. I'd say research your options, try a few demos, and see which one fits you best. Of course, there's quite a few freeware DAWs as well, LMMS being one I can get behind due to prior experience, but I'm not sure as to the timestretching capabilities, which is why I said research.
>Songs for sampling
Well, really, it all boils down to what kind of Vaporwave you're wanting to make, who influenced you, that sort of thing. I'd say just actively listen to your favourite artists, and try to get an idea as to where these samples might come from. Listening to a wide range of music also helps, as you can pick out things you like from other songs and incorporate them into your stuff.
Chopping effects are done in a variety of ways, but this is a good example (added timestamp because he rambles on a bit too much)
To stop this from becoming a long winded comment, I'll just leave it at this. I know there's a lot of unanswered stuff, but you can PM me or any of the guys here and we'll happily help you out. Have fun in this Virtual Plaza.
Got somethin' for ya: https://anonfiles.com/file/30f98c9d6ff9b3c3ee132f94d1f1e347
No idea why he didn't release it on his Bandcamp. Never heard of it myself. I took it from some Russian site: http://ololo.fm/search/Miami+Vice/Midnight
From ~~Haruomi Hosono~~ Haruomi Hosono, Ryuichi Sakamoto, and Tatsuro Yamashita's ~~1990~~ 1978 album Pacific. When I first heard this I thought it was a modern-day vaporwave artist. But no, it is the type of music that inspires them.
Edit: Here's a Mega link to the album
Details: It's a book the owner of the telegram room(t.me/vaporwavesadplanet) started to put together. The book is cut in half and each page are fun quotables by 2 computer systems in nostalgic reflection. One is rugged(Memphis Megahertz) and cyberpunk/spaghetti western in nature whilst the other (Kansas City Fractal) is traditional and emotional Vaporwave tech nostalgia and pre internet nostalgia stylings. We had a lot of fun compiling it and I(Robness) had help from the rest of the community members(mostly my other mod Rat Sarcoma) knock me down and made sure I wasn't falling too far off the mark. Truly a pleasure to make and I tried to make the cover as A E S T H E T I C as possible as ornamentation for future computer/coffee tables in a possible dystopian/utopian environment. Cheers! Here is a free PDF "Shareware" copy of the book to take a preview at....
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1FkK0NRe59EK2Chnw-lid6UToX3jweiKD/view?usp=sharing
The Amazon link for the physical copy is here. Thank you! The Amazon product link just launched so it's not fully compiled, the book description is all there and stuff though. I literally just pressed the PUBLISH button so yeah. Cool!
Yeah I released it on Amazon actually this week. I didn't want to post the Amazon link for fear of breaking rules or be too overbearing of a post. Here is the link (FYI: I tried to make it a color book but Amazon's print costs were too high unfortunately so I had to opt for the black and white page version) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1719819602?pf_rd_p=d1f45e03-8b73-4c9a-9beb-4819111bef9a&pf_rd_r=ZZ058GCR8JXM8ZXJ7H3X
It's $7.99 on Amazon, so that's a little better, at least.
Ah. I thought it might just be a mixtape so I googled Eminem Show Cassette, and it exists, though I'm not sure who's selling it or making it
I'd recommend Relay for Android users.

Reminds me a lot of the Mondo games by Cactus (Mondo Medicals and Mondo Agency). Wonder what came first?
Hi guys. I have also uploaded the collection.
https://mega.nz/#!WtcGUaAQ!_pRkdIbAwwCkGKLdRz7dBH8ZnZnDzMQA7_TMAqvxVh0
Use as a mirror or test if this has a higher upload speed. It's also nice if you have a mega account, you can import it to your cloud drive instantly.
You should do one with tracks that have more complex sampling, like these 2 Mediafired tracks, that use multiple parts of a track which are sometimes layered on top of each other (see the whosampled page to see what I mean)
http://www.whosampled.com/sample/196248/Mediafired%E2%84%A2-Innuintendo-Queen-Innuendo/
yeah ive played a few live shows mostly by doing a live mix. Mostly do future funk type stuff in club settings but on radio shows I've thrown a couple lowkey vaporwave sets
check some of them out here https://www.mixcloud.com/3D_BLAST/
https://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/chip_jewelry/nyetscape.p/
I found this while doing some digging after I saw the discrepancies between the different essentials charts. Can't seem to find the actual album anywhere though
edit: apparently it was just an early version Nyetscape leaked to a Skype group, not an official release so it looks like there's very little chance anyone will find it at this point
Sadly, I couldn't find anything. However, there is this account based around finding t e l e p a t h テレパシー能力者's samples. I too am really curious to what the sample is though
Edit: grammar
OK! So we can tune into your radio station here, and your show is at 11pm Eastern Standard Time (UTC-05 for the international folks), now all we need is what days your show is.
I'll second that. Plus, if you have an Android device, NesCroft's Vaporwave Radio is really nicely-done, allowing you to "tune" for tempo, mood, style, etc. Not on the Google Play store; go here instead: https://apkpure.com/vaporwave-radio/com.NesCroft.VaporwaveRadio
UPDATE: New dates discovered
September 14th: Le Batofar, Paris, France September 17th: Patronaat, Haarlem, Netherlands
マクロスMACROSS 82-99 - 葛城 ミサトYEBISU (YUNG BAE EDIT) samples Khemistry - Can You Feel My Love, Bae City Rollaz samples Junko Yagami - Bay City. Most of the other ones can be found here.
Look at where other vaporwave samples come from and use that to guide you in your own search.
http://www.whosampled.com/song-tag/Vaporwave/samples/1/
You could probably use those albums/sources yourself, just different parts. But also use those to get an idea where else to look. After all, half the fun of vaporwave is sample searching! ;D
Good luck wobz.
Use RYM and search for "Smooth Jazz" or "City Pop", then browse all the releases from the late 70's to early 90's. There will be thousands and thousands of obscure albums that no one has ever thought to use.
I know we should pay but.. eh... don't tell heh.

most of the bands are live-only right now, it's a visceral live experience for sure. other good znadecore bands include Neil Young Is Actually Old, Throbbing Boris Yeltsin, The Concept of Anarchist Hate, and The PTA Explosion

Your comparison is definitely valid, but your idea of hackers is slightly off.
Hacking at its core is messing with things, it's pulling things apart to see how they work and modify them to suit your needs. Ever heard of a 'hack', as in a 'fix'? Like if your phone speaker broke, you take it apart and glue the connectors to an external speaker - that's something you can call a 'hack'.
The term actually began as a way to describe student pranks in MIT. This is a great piece of history: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tech_Model_Railroad_Club
The problem is people used the skills they gathered for the bad, breaking into systems that weren't theirs and realizing they could make money by doing that. They are commonly referred to as 'crackers' or 'black-hat' hackers, and they are most loved by Hollywood as they make for great villains. They are the ones staying low and having an underground of their own.
But they aren't quite as oldschool or common as you would think. Most hackers are just hobbyists, tweakers, modders, ... They share their findings with the world and often gather in public. They don't wear Matrix jackets and dark shades, nor do they have 20 screens with green terminal text illuminating their rooms. Needless to say, they don't really care for these 'crackers' and don't want to be associated with them at all.
This is a great site to illustrate my point: http://hackaday.com/
See how none of those posts have anything to do with illegal breaching of systems? And that's exactly how hacking started out, and has been for longer than we can imagine.
I've been here and there, both on the web as IRL, and the hacking community is by far one of the greatest communities I know. It's a shame the term 'hacker' has become synonymous to criminal activity, because past all that is a world of free knowledge, discovery and excitement.
Sorry for hijacking your post, just wanted to point that out.
It's excellent...they sometimes do a live video feed from somewhere nondescript in Tokyo as a visual accompaniment. Another nifty Android app is NesCroft's Vaporwave Radio...a vaporwave radio which allows you to "tune" your stream for mood, tempo, and genre plus one or two other surprises. It's not on the Play store these days for some weird Googlish reason; you can find the .apk at https://apkpure.com/vaporwave-radio/com.NesCroft.VaporwaveRadio

A website called "Every noise at once" has a vaporwave page here: http://everynoise.com/engenremap-vaporwave.html#tunnel
If you click "Playlist" on the top of the page it will open up the playlist in spotify, which has a plethora of different vaporwave artists currently on spotify.
I personally love sampling more obscure or "non-musical" (heavy quotes, I'm a big fan of Musique concrète techniques when it comes to sampling) things. Like for example I sampled my dryer for a track off my new album. Or Daniel Lopatin sampling a wrigley's commercial. I think sampling can improve a song's ideas and melody (Macintosh Plus amirite?) but also how you treat the sample can have a greater, more compositionally impressive impact on your tracks.
For comparison, street art operates in a legal gray area [1]. Vaporwave is in a similar legal gray area, where art and the sensitivities of respectable society collide.
Vaporwave is not respectful of the original artist. It is, in fact, very disrespectful. This is, in a sense, how the genre began. Can you name any other genre where one of the seminal albums (Macintosh Plus - Floral Shoppe) consists of the kind of sampling you describe? [2]
Vaporwave is just like Capitalism: it violently appropriates the work of others, relabels and recombines it so that it is impossible to decipher the process that produced it, and takes over the world :-)
You could also look for early 00s or other era stuff that sounds similar. One of the Eccojams tracks was a 2006 sample of JoJo.
Also, sampling + MIDI is a good combo.
I've actually been re-dipping into the classics since I'm starting to review again. I wasn't writing as much when vaporwave entered my life so now I get to have first impressions all over again. having said that, waterfront dining has been so phenomenal lately and his catalogue is gigantic for such a new artist. Look here (and this ain't even complete).
I love how you tend to do the artists that have been on my shortlist. Sweet. Miami Vice was one of my first vaporwaves, since I was so heavily into chillwave when the 2010s broke in and I needed anything that made me think of it. Precursory to my Floridian vaporwave adventures, I can't imagine having made it any more than if Miami Vice one day released under us. Palm Haze forever obvs.

here's what side B of my roboempire cassette looked like pre-me smashing the shit out of it with a wrench. this is terrible.
there's more images on discogs if you want to indulge in just how poor quality this is https://www.discogs.com/release/8206644-ROBOEMPIRE/images
you could say i'm inspired by him
sorry, no. todd's label has been around for like a decade, i'd have to be connected to tons of artists and selling vinyl since middle school
Fake office plants and ferns plus the marble lugia909 mentioned. Get some of those amazon hue strip lights and in the companion app set the colors to change between blue and pink.
> Rocky's flow is one of the best in the game right now
Wouldn't say so, but you know, let's agree to disagree. Although I can see what you're referring to, so I suppose it's just a matter of taste.
Well there's no perfect answer to this. I just happened to know the track above but if I were to go on a search this is how I would do it...
Firstly search youtube for the track you are trying to investigate. Sometimes in the description YT does a good job of listing originals.
Failing that in most instances they have been pitched down so you could either try Shazam at normal speed or use YouTube playback speed and increase (not great). Or use audio software to pitch the track back up to what seems to be original speed and Shazam again. Both 'Audacity' and 'Nero Wave Editor' are free if you dont have them.
Youll obviously have mixed results because depending on the producer effects like reverb and distortion will make it harder to trace.
As a last resort you could even try a search on a helpful site called WhoSampled although it may be difficult to trace Vapor artists.
Hope this helps!

Vaporwave legends dds.wmv and I have teamed up to create a line of merch celebrating the band's impeccable contributions to the scene, implementing the classic , glitchtastic dds.wmv art style we've all come to love on some sweet streetwear.
Working with them has been a ton of fun, I actually received the original artwork psd's for their albums, seeing all the layers of artwork that didn't make it into the final cut and how each album art is constructed. You'll be surprised how many layers are in these things!
I also feature a design from the CD booklet for the limited ran Dream Catalogue "I'll Try living Like This" CD, overall a ton of cool stuff I received from the group to work with.
Also for just some quick Pad news, I will be doing the next installment of the Vaporwave Essentials Series on their album DERELICTメガタワー. Really exciting stuff coming to the channel that I can't wait to get to you all!
Anyway's, if you made it this far, thanks for reading and if you're interested in picking any of these up here is a link to the shop! These will only be around for a limited time only so get em while ya can!
Thanks again everyone and enjoy the rest of your week!
Heyyooo, yep me and the corpster did a Small collab run a couple months back that had a couple pieces of merch, working on the next collab now with another artist that’ll be dropping very soon.
11/23/18 @12:00am EST (BLACK FRIDAY)
AVAILABLE FOR 3 DAYS / 72 HOURS ONLY
THE LIMITED QUANTITY COLLECTION OF DESIGNS INSPIRED BY A HOLY GRAIL OF VAPORWAVE
ESTETICO PRESENTS
***THE LF420 COLLECTION***
With the LF420 collection, I wanted to create something simple, minimalistic, and clean. I really wanted to design something fresh and original from something that has grown to be such a recognizable art style in the Vaporwave scene.
As always, criticism and opinions are always welcomed and really appreciated!
Also, this is not any official mac+ or FS merch (unlike the Corp. collab where we worked together and used his actual album artwork/name/albums in the apparel) but purely original designs inspired by elements of the OG artwork and other various Vaporwave styles
If interested, here's the announcement video showcasing all the upcoming items for the drop.
We put some of our album covers on shirts and hoodies, I price them as low as teespring will allow. All proceeds go back to the artist whose apparel you purchase: https://teespring.com/stores/fantasy-deluxe
hi boi , I have seen you was looking for the original sample of my vaporwave song S A L O N サロン :3
the original is a saxophone solo in the track "Telephone Number" by junko oashi , http://www.whosampled.com/Zadig-the-Jasp/S-a-L-O-N-%E3%82%B5%E3%83%AD%E3%83%B3/
It's also up on Mixcloud, if you're into that: https://www.mixcloud.com/%EC%8B%9D%EB%A3%8C%ED%92%88groceries/%EC%8B%9D%EB%A3%8C%ED%92%88groceries-live-at-kung-fu-necktie-in-philadelphia-pa-on-april-1-2016/
Anything further I can add would just be speculation about a person I know nothing about, so we'll leave it to the imagination. Check out her Neon Nights FM show, though. So many episodes sound like early lux that I get the feeling she genuinely enjoys it. Like I said, pure speculation about a person who I know nothing about! Don't sweat your own stuff, there are lots of people who take vw as seriously as any other new electronic genre.
The fastest way would probably be to learn a little bit of Unity or Unreal. You could do the whole thing in a 3D editor like Blender or Maya, but from my experience the game editors are a bit easier on the onset.
I personally prefer Unreal because I found it to be a bit more intuitive and had a ton of documentation. Just pick one and poke around until you get a general sense of how it works. It will give you the tools to make a "level" and then animate and record scenes. Like I said you can accomplish the same thing in Blender.
Lastly, you'll probably want some video editing tools if you don't already have them.
Although, when you DO listen to vaporwave through high-end monitors, the results can be amazing...you can hear little touches that just don't come out on a Bluetooth speaker.
As for a good bedroom system, this is the successor to the one I have: https://www.amazon.com/Sony-Bluetooth-Wireless-Streaming-Playback/dp/B06Y3CYKQ2/ref=sr_1_2?crid=5PTXU6FZGDLJ&keywords=sony+compact+stereo+sound+system&qid=1640039933&sprefix=sony+compact+stereo%2Caps%2C93&sr=8-2 Instead of having the low end hyped, these have the ability to easily be set to a flat EQ curve, plus the "subbass" setting on these actually does what it's supposed to do. After nearly ten years, my Sony is chugging right along, which is also pretty impressive in this day and age of disposable electronics.
Ask and ye shall receive! https://apkpure.com/vaporwave-radio/com.NesCroft.VaporwaveRadio
Not 100% sure why it was yanked from Google Play (probably due to something performance rights-related), but it's still functioning wonderfully.
Starters? OK...my suggestion is to get over to Bandcamp and dive headlong into the releases tagged for vaporwave in their search by genre function. Start with the "best selling" listings, then dive into the "newly released" ones. Just immerse, let the funny noises wash over you, and then you should have a better idea of where to go next.
One Android app I'd suggest would be Nes.Croft's Vaporwave Radio. It allows you to focus your listening based on tempi, feel, style, and so forth. This is another good "where to go next" tool, as you can make notes of artists and/or albums to look into within the parameters you've set on it. This isn't on Google Play; go here instead: https://apkpure.com/vaporwave-radio/com.NesCroft.VaporwaveRadio
Lastly, this place. Lots of new releases get hyped here before anywhere else, and following links from those posts tends to be very productive if you hear something you dig. Also, the links on the right side of your Reddit window for the UltraGuides and the Best of XXXX lists are very useful.
You can find a lot of good synth pad presets on FL, and you should be able to make decent piano chords with the supplied piano roll. One thing you should really try is finding an obscure 80s slow jam (typically R&B/Soul but it can be anything), and just stretching it out, making it not only slower but also lower pitched. My best advice on sample picking is to go on whosampled.com and see how well-known vaporwave artists flipped their samples and what kind of samples that they used, and work off of that, try to do something similar while doing your own style.
http://www.whosampled.com/song-tag/Vaporwave/samples/1/
For an analogue sound, burn a dvd of your song and run it through a VHS recorder and render the VHS back out through your computer into an MP3, that's the most genuine way, but not necessary.
Good luck!
Depends on the part of the 1980s you're talking about. In the earlier parts, malls would pipe in the usual muzak-ish instrumental arrangements. But the 1980s was a weird period for BGM services, as that style of background fell out of favor during the decade. By the time you reach the end of the 1980s, it was more likely to hear light pop in its original versions, as Muzak et al switched to a more acceptable musical format. At this point in time, while Muzak exists as a part of another firm (see https://us.moodmedia.com/ , which now owns Muzak), you'll never hear the "easy listening" format out of them.
Fact is, easy listening just about died as a musical genre during the 1980s and 90s. There used to be hundreds of radio stations...sometimes a few in bigger cities...that played that format 24/7. And in some cases, those stations were part of other BGM firms, with the subscriber service background music being carried on an FM subcarrier to special receivers for in-store systems. Almost all of the easy listening stations are gone now, though...either they changed format (if they were making money) or simply went dark (which happened quite a bit). But we're quite lucky in the area that I live in that one of the few dozen remaining easy listening stations still exists! And yep, I do enjoy putting it on, although I tend to use their livestream over OTA, because FM interference around here is a real bitch. Check 'em out: https://tunein.com/radio/WGCY-1063-s28982/
Yeah no problem my mixes are all contained in this account:

Only 3 so far with Mysteries of the Web as a bonus ;) I'll make posts about the mixes and albums ill be producing later on. Thanks!
TFW you realise that you were doing collaborations with hardcore russian outsider noise musicians 10+ years before some internet kids made a 'genre' of merely pretending to be hardcore outsider noise musicians :3
https://vk.com/wall-103702682_213 The print on the cassette still makes me so happy
I was wondering the same, but I guess their supplier has a minimum limit of 500 per order, even though a order could have many designs. The material is printed one at a time, like digital printing. To get the shipping etc costs down, they need to order as many as possible at once. Like this: http://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Professional-custome-design-full-sublimation-printing_534779888.html?s=p - So I think it is realistic to get that price if they operate with minimum profit and pre-order only. My biggest concern here is that Macintosh Plus is apparently not affiliated with this venture. EDIT: Also looks like the shipping cost is added to each item
https://www.blender.org/support/tutorials/
Here's a few tutorials that should get you started. The head tutorial will be of particular interest. Just remember to use flat shading instead of whatever the tutorial says to use, and you might not need to go through the whole set of tutorials since a basic image like the one in the original post isn't really realistic and just has the basic proportions. Honestly once you learn how to create, extrude, and color vertices, the steps for creating a low poly head like the one in the original post will seem obvious.
