I don’t like the setup. Wood or particle board retains heat (place your hand under the Xbox after playing for awhile and feel for yourself); causing your Xbox to heat up more than it should. Four glass coasters between console and wood will significantly reduce fan noise and keep your Xbox cooler. Glass coasters with small spacers from Amazon:
I have an 8TB self-powered HDD from seagate when Amazon had a sale going last year. A link to the listing:

I had a weird issue with my new x in that it would not play movies from 4k blu rays or from my digital collection. I tried the xbox one x cable and the cable that came with my monitor with no luck, same issue with both cables. I bout this one from Amazon and so far everything is working great. So, yeah I agree most cables are the same, but you might get a dud and have to go with another option.
Up until a few months ago I had never used a gaming headset. Never needed one. But I got PUBG and wanted to game with friends and my Xbox headset was broken. I also quickly learned that if I wanted to hear what was going on around me in game I needed something better than the standard Xbox headset. Did someone research came up with a few options and then checked out the feedback. I wanted something premium enough to use in a competitive game like PuBG but no so costly that big feel silly considering I'm only using it for one game. In end I settled on the HyperX Cloud Alpha Pro. Currently $99.99 on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074NBSF9N?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf
I got the LG 32UD59 and I love it, especially at a good price point.

Looks like this might work
The most important feature in a 4k TV is not HDR. It's not OLED. It's not any of the stuff you keep seeing in these threads: It's having a low input lag. Input lag is the time delay between what you do on the controller, and what shows up on the screen. Anything over 40 is unplayable, and some TVs don't even have a decent game mode to knock it down some and make games playable.
This is why I went for the TCL Roku TV S401/S403/S405 (model number depends on the retailer). It still has decent HDR10, and it has beautiful 4k resolution, but the input lag-- even outside of game mode-- is fantastic. It's among the best in the lower price range. and on top of it, the built-in Roku is fantastically integrated and supports 4k HDR from Netflix, Amazon Prime, and YouTube without any problems (of course, for Netflix you need to pay them a few more bucks per month to enable 4k streams, which if you ask me is pretty shameful when you consider none of the competition asks for more money).
You can pick up a 55" model for $370 USD, or around there.
Oh, and YES, the One X is worth it. Hell yes. The enhanced titles are gorgeous, and the load times are wonderful.
I found this one on Amazon. Its specifically designed for the Samsung evo 970 pro. M.2 NVME to USB3.1 Type-C GEN2 10GBPS Enclosure M.2 PCI-E SSD Hard Disk External Drive Box M.2 M-Key SSD to USB-C Adapter (Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FK1BBYM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_pTt3Bb7SHX2P6
But! I understand what you are saying. I will not buy it. It is meant for a computer. Not xbox lol I just want faster load times. Was all. But thank you very much for taking the time out of your day to explain it to me. And saving me money lol
I bought this LG Electronics 55SK9000PUA at Amazon on Black Friday. It is now 100 dollars more than it was a few weeks ago. Man is this TV awesome.
Make sure you get the 2018 model as this one has Full Array Local Dimming vs. the earlier models which are Edge Lit. The LG has:
4K Cinema HDR on LG SUPER UHD TV with AI ThinQ features comprehensive support of major high dynamic range formats including Dolby Vision, as well as HDR10 and HLG, both with LG’s advanced tone-mapping technology that provides scene-by-scene optimization.
So FYI... I just tried replacing the OEM thermal pads with 2mm thermal grizzly pads and got bad results. The system now runs at max fan speed (worse than before). The replacement pads I used are really firm and don't have much "squish" to them like cheaper silicone pads. I'm wondering if these pads aren't allowing the heatsink to sit tight enough on the CPU which would result in poor thermal conduction. If you could let me know which one you end up going with (1.5 or 2.0) that would be great. I like your idea of putting it on dry first to get an estimate.
Note: The console has no air intake or exhaust restrictions, CPU fan heatsink was cleaned, CPU thermal paste was replaced with thermal grizzly and a "fat pea" sized amount was used.
Buy this it will make it easier to use and give you more sound options:
Turtle Beach Headset Audio Controller Plus (Xbox One) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00PWRYKDE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_VZ2XCb21Z78CR
I also recommend buying the Dolby Atmos app for Xbox one headphones on the Xbox too :)
I was able to get things working with new HDMI cables. I got these <https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07M89LV8J/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1> from Amazon and they "appear" to have fixed my problem. I say "appear" because when I started the 4k UHD movie it started to play and then it froze for about 10-15 seconds and then resumed playing. It was as though I was streaming a movie, when in fact I was playing a Blueray 4k disc. I didn't watch the whole movie as I have seen it before, but it appears that my issue is resolved. I'll report back if things get worse.
I'm considering between these two monitors.
Both on sale for the same price ($379.99) & both support FreeSync via HDMI.
Let me know what you think.
when I got the x900f, I got all my devices to run on the HDMI 2.1 belkins and everything looks and runs amazing. Made specifically for apple tvs and their dolby vision streaming so you know it has high enough bandwidth: https://www.amazon.com/Belkin-AV10175bt2M-BLK-Vision-Optimal-Viewing/dp/B075N83B9X
You can find on Amazon the Turtle beach adapter. It's around 40 something like that but then you can plus any phone earbuds with a microphone and it will allow you to have all the features like super human hearing, microphone feedback, sound presets, I find it to be a good solution ...
Wait for TVs to go on sale, don’t sell yourself short. Easy to find a good deal. But keep in mind you get what you pay for. HDR is big when looking for a tv. Games that don’t support 4k but have HDR is a nice boost to the color depth.
If you are patient grey Thursday/Black Friday/cyber Monday always have good deals.
This t.v. Is 100 bucks off amazon right now and seems to fit your budget. It is their 4 series. I personally have never owned a tv from this company, I usually stay with Sony, Samsung, and LG and have yet to be disappointed.

They also have many other colors also. These are in the US Amazon store by the way...
I'm also looking at this one https://www.amazon.com/Monoprice27in-ActiveHDR-Desktop-Monitor-Aluminum/dp/B0778S2JQ6 for about $350.
Has HDR. The amazon question and answer has an response of 8ms but I can't find anywhere confirming that number or anywhere that talks about input lag.
I use the Astro A40+mixamp which are okay I guess. I am looking for better sound quality. I don’t know where to start looking. I’d say budget is $300 max.
I can confirm the issue with Planet Earth 2 4k UHD discs, not playing on Xbox One X with the latest OS! I have 10x 4k UHD discs in the house, all of them play absolutely fine without any trouble, except for the Planet Earth 4k UHD discs!
To be specific, it's this version I just bought from Amazon UK: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B06X16HDJD/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 - The Blu-Ray non 4k play fine, but the 4k UHD discs are causing problems!
Disc 1 never plays correctly but Disc 2 plays in I would say ... 50% of the time.
I've tried re-installing the OS as some ppl said that would fix the issue ( but keeping apps and games ), uninstalling and re-installing the blu-ray player app, resetting the whole xbox one x machine and tried all kinds of different settings, none of them seem to make any difference. I've also cleaned (the brand new!) discs over and over ... but it doesn't matter, Disc 1 never playes, and Disc 2 plays in 50%.
I'm not having ANY issues with other 4k UHD discs in my Xbox One X machine, so this is definitely something in the manufacturing of the discs, i.e. how they're pressed / made in the factory. I can hear the disc spinning and spinning as the Xbox One X is trying hard to read them, without luck in most of the cases ( like I've stated before, Disc 1 never playes, but Disc 2 plays 50% of the time - i.e. without me changing anything in the meantime! )
I've tried disconnecting the hdmi and re-connecting it ... both using my Yamaha Avantage RX-A2070 and directly to my LG Oled B7 tv, doesn't make any difference.
I'm very disappointednot being able to play these beautifull episodes through my Xbox One X system, so I'm downloading them now to put them on a usb stick, and play them that way, which is NOT my preferred method.
Any helpfull input on the matter would be well appreciated!
Kind regards,
does this support freesync, 4k @ 60hz? Overall, is this a good option?
OK - I'm going to order the U.S. version and try it out, Amazon refunded me the UK version, they're always top class!
This is the U.S. version I'm ordering right now, the 4k UHD ... It's 3 discs, but the UK version was 4 discs ( 2 4k UHD's, and 2 standard Blu-Rays )

I think I must have the older version of that monitor and you the newest one because on Samsung's website it says *Supports HDMI 1.4 (3840 x 2160, 30 Hz) and Display Port 1.2 (3840 x 2160, 60 Hz)
Also I just picked up a similar adapter ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00S0C7QO8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ) and it gets no signal. I think for those adapters to work the console has to have a display port output and only works one way not both, which makes 0 sense to me =(
LG c7 just got it last week and cannot be happier... even the TV alone with my S is a HUGE upgrade over the 1080 Sony I bought 2 years ago

It has been a while since I had looked into this, but I upgraded my monitor earlier this year for Xbox in preperation. I ended up going with the following:
I spent a great deal of time deciding what to get and this is what I landed on- hope this helps.
