That’s entirely incorrect: https://www.amazon.ca/Crosman-Pellet-Loader-177-Caliber-Pellets/dp/B002PTNXZI
This costs nothing to me, the mechanical pencil has been unused for a decade. Also making something from scratch is immeasurably fun to me.
> However, now the zero keeps shifting. Every shooting session I find my self chasing the zero all over the place. Checking the rings screws etc everything else seems fine.
Was this gun tuned by someone?
How many shots do you have through that barrel?
How far are you shooting?
First off if it was scope shift you would know it by your shot pattern prior and what does it looks like now? When you shoot at a given point (two different areas) in a 5 shot groups you will see either the shot group open up or start to wander. Aim at a given point and keep track before you even move your turrets to chase your shot you need to keep track on paper what your scope is doing first. However before touching the turrets just observe and record it on paper! I say this because you might just simply need some RWS Air Chamber Lube (pure silicone oil) but we need to see what your doing on paper first.
A few things:
RWS Airgun Chamber Lube you just answered your own question it needs some lube since it’s talking to ya. 😉 Put 2-4 drops in every 750-1000 shots in the air transfer port and work the piston up and down without fully engaging it.
It should help with the “honking” noise. I mean it will still fire but I’d refrain till its lubed since its like running a car with zero motor oil.
No, WD40 is not lubricant. You can get small bottle from amazon https://www.amazon.com/Traxxas-1666-Silicone-Shock-Oil/dp/B0006O5GKY/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1511143109&sr=8-4&keywords=silicone+oil&dpID=316QprPDMpL&preST=_SY445_QL70_&dpSrc=srch
Or you can take some from the pump gauge. It needs it only for shipping purpose.
This day and age its hard not to recommend a pcp rifle. prices have dropped and features have gone up. If you plan to hunt .25 is a solid caliber choice for most small game. Mike over at flying dragon dropped the price of the sentry to 200 dollars shipped. http://flyingdragonairrifles.org/index.php?route=product/product&path=59&product_id=68 throw in a 50 dollar pcp pump off amazon https://www.amazon.com/Mophorn-Pressure-Convenient-Pre-Charged-Pneumatic/dp/B06XQ4RLNY/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1542106328&sr=8-8&keywords=pcp+pump and you will have your self a very capable small game gun that will be worlds more accurate and easier to shoot that a break barrel.
Pick up an inline filter and fill it with desiccant. Your equipment will thank you for the dry air!
Hyperlinks are to products on Amazon.
I can’t speak on the M&P 40 or the 9XP, as I haven’t owned/handled them, but another good candidate might be the Sig Sauer p226 air pistol
It’s $95.99 and extra magazines are $13.19 for 2. With the design of the magazines, you can use both pellets and bb’s.
It’s not the most accurate if you’re looking to shoot dimes and whatnot, as CO2 blowbacks usually aren’t, but it’s a blast for casual target shooting. It’s also pretty hefty at about 2.4 pounds, as it’s a replica of a Sig Sauer p226 made by Sig Sauer. This makes it very comparable in feel to the real steel version.
It comes with a threaded barrel as well, but the thread size is pretty weird for suppressors, and I’ve heard the one made for it is a bit shoddy. If you decided to however, you could get an adapter and add a suppressor if it’s legal where you’re from. (I’m not very sure about airgun suppressor laws, I’d recommend looking into that more before buying one)
Anyways, I hope this helps, good luck on your search!
Provided your scopes not shot I would recommend Hawke Mount Inserts for Ring Mounts to add 25 MOA Elevation. They have them for 1in and 30mm ($17) and are plastic inserts you can cut to length of your scope ring.
If you mean a bullet trap, this is what I use in our backyard. It's rated for .17 and .22 rimfire, so it catches everything I throw at it with ease, and I have some seriously hard hitting rifles going at it, not a ding on it.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/402354105391
Either of these will work. I use the eBay one and it works fine. Just pump slow and controlled and every 100 pumps let the pump cool to not let it overheat.
The same thing happened to my 880, and after trying to super glue/epoxy it back into place, I ended up buying a replacement from Amazon. The same seller also has an Ebay store, if you prefer that marketplace. The part was easy to install and has been working great.
http://www.airgundepot.com/ebos-bb-gun.html
Pretty much exactly what you described. Takes batteries and is kinda loud, but it looks really fun.
EDIT: cheaper on amazon (shipping with airgundepot is expensive)
I'm out of the home and don't have a link, but I read something the other day that said that crossman invented the 12-g CO2 cartridges back in the 50s or 60s. Before then people used 8 gram cartridges. The 8 gram ones are still available and are used in the beverage industry. I did just check Amazon for 8 gram cartridges and they definitely have them.
But consider my advice anecdotal and double check for yourself.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074VGR6ZD/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fab_QCLyFbRRM4GTG
Buy a pellet trap. I use one designed to stop .22LR bullets knowing it will stop anything my air-rifle (.25 PCP) will throw at it. It also catches them all so you can just dump them in the trash. One like this: Champion Bullet Box
A $60 Havahart live trap works well on raccoons, opossums, cats, groundhogs and skunks. It even works while you sleep, work, play. Just sayin
Something like this?
Allen Company Monument Hill Scoped Rifle Case with Leather Trim, 50" https://www.amazon.com/dp/B010FMMXCA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_5iPQBb1W382VG
That's what I use for my RWS 350 Magnum. Allen has loads of options.
>propane gun filled
Does it actually need one of those expensive propane tanks with the adaptor or will the regular cheap plastic one like this do the job
Interesting. I love my F4.
I see the wood-stocked Express is $123 at Walmart. Not bad, especially, when Gander Mountain was asking $250.
This gun looked deceptively marketed to me, so, of course, my curiosity hackles are raised.
Let me know where I can get a wood-stocked version at about $80 to $90 and we'll trade notes.
Glad you're enjoying it.
Ok, like I said, I'm only suggesting brick and mortar stores, so you can return the rifle if you hate it.
My suggestion: Beeman Dual Caliber. There are a lot of variants of this gun in the stores. They used to come with a wood stock, but now all I see are synthetic-stocked versions. The latest version I've seen has a gas piston system, but it's about $40 more expensive at about $150 - $160. I've only used the Crosman gas (nitro-piston) system, but I definitely think it is an improvement because there is less vibration and no "twist" when firing. It just feels so much better to shoot, which improves real-world accuracy. This gun takes a lot of strength to cock, but it hits very hard in both calibers. The trigger is actually very good and predictable. If you buy this gun, inspect the breech seal (where you load the pellet) before you shoot it. All the ones I have purchased have a breach seal that was gummy and disintegrating, which will cause severe loss of power and accuracy. If it looks flat and/or feels soft, go to a hardware store with the old breach seal and buy a few rubber o-rings of the same size. This is essential for this gun to be usable!
Also, regarding those 3000 bbs: Either throw them away or buy a Red Ryder lever action to shoot cans at 20 feet. BBs are evil.
Let us know what you get!
I haven't gotten it yet(tight budget right now) but there is one and only 1 scope I want on my flashpup:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B085N9FBB5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_9V2Z5CSKEJ1W4814N1SN
The veyron line is just so compact that it's very fitting for a bullpup. I had a vector Taurus 3-18x50 on it and it was just way too big for the gun. Even with the scope mounted all the way forward, I had trouble getting far enough away from the eye piece to get good sight picture. Moved the Taurus to my Benjamin cayden and it's very much at home there.
But I personally love the vector scopes. I love the quality you get for a reasonable price. That's 100% my opinion, but a lot of the scope reviewers like them too.
On a budget probably the UTG Swat 4-16x44. Thats my backup scope that I use as a temporary scope on new rifles. Gets the job done and can take a beating.
I picked up a nice low profile adapter off amazon for my xisico p120d and went to get another for my p17 and they've disappeared. I have the one you're using too and this one keeps the site low to the bore axis.
For the price range I was seriously considering a Vortex but after seeing some real crap quality glass between different models with chromatic aberration I just had to stick with Hawke. I ended scoring an amazing deal on a 2015 Hawke Sidewinder 4-16 (mrad) FFP for around $350 so it was a no brainer for me.
The Sidewinder is the complete package (for most people) came in a very big box only down side for me was the lens covers being metal and hard to open so I ended up sliding on Vortex flip cap covers instead.
I do like the new 2021 model though! May end up getting another Sidewinder for the Hatsan.
3000psi is doable via a high-pressure stirrup pump.
Inexpensive from a materials perspective, but you'll pay in sweat equity.
If you ever have a problem with the picatinny adapter I recommend these.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01ABW7GS0/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_glt_i_K5PJHYBKE25PVY8GWTJ1
I probably have 20+ of these mounted on various springers and PCPs.
Great gun.
Just as /u/TheGregZone had mentioned with a rubber slip on recoil pad will do the trick. You just need to verify sizing.
On my RWS I ended up replacing mine for a rubber slip on recoil pad in a medium. The stock plate was too slippery so couldn’t safely lean my rifle against a wall or post. On top of that I noticed it kept slipping off my shoulder while shooting. It felt way too short to me. Once I removed the plastic plate and added the slip on the issues went away plus it gave me perfect length of pull.
I don’t know if your “length of pull” is proper length but you may need to remove the butt pad or plate if you add a slip on. Thats if it’s even possible.
Here is a link to a cheaper pump: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08LPL57WD/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_Y8N2KB2D70NDV0TSJR9R?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
The same pump can be used for all PCP airguns. PCP Airguns have either a standard Foster Fitting connection to supply it air, or a proprietary probe style connection.
I have two guns, one with a Foster connection and one with a probe. All of my air compressors, tanks and cables work with both of these because all probe style fittings attach to Foster fittings on one end.
Well you’ve already declared what you wanted. Based on your requests (and what is available) this gun is what you want the Crosman Vantage in .22
Other Crosman and Benjamin rifles that have the NP2 or Nitro Piston Elite which would be the better power plant you’ve have to really search for the older rifles with those.
The Scope you will have to buy separately but you should be able to shoot open sights till it arrives. The .22 would be ideal for your needs given there are more options available in store yet cheap enough without over spending on pellets/shipping. Walmart sells Crosman Premier Hollow Points for ~$6 can beat the price for decent accuracy.
Other Brands that have a gas powered spring like Hatsan 95 would be another good option too Vortex gas piston. Only caveat to those rifles is they need to be used it can’t be sitting there more than a year.
With shipping, it's likely just as cheap to get one from Amazon.
I like to keep my extras on hand to give away to lure unsuspecting people into the world of airguns.
Ah! This one.
Depends on what he liked If it were me i would go with COLT 45 replica like this one https://www.amazon.com/Sig-Sauer-AIR-1911WTP-BB-People-Pistol/dp/B07CWYJ1VG/ref=sr_1_2?crid=IM228I18EHJQ&dchild=1&keywords=colt+1911+bb+gun+blowback+co2&qid=1614182171&s=sporting-goods&sprefix=colt+1911+bb%2Csporting%2C164&sr=1-2
>Shootin'Darts
Thats it. and what do you know, you can still buy it! (and I just did).
https://www.amazon.com/Shootin-Darts-177cal-Air-Pistol/dp/B000W32TCC
If you have tools like an iFixit Kit just watch videos on scope mounting there’s a shit ton of them out there on YouTube.
Disassemble your rings from the scope and unmount from the airgun. Might need to bend that top cap ring to flare it out to drop that scope tube. Use some medium grit sandpaper from the hardware store or from your garage. Find where the burrs are on the ring halves that are causing scratches on the scope take that medium grit paper and sand them down till the scope can easily wiggle around without sounding like they are scratching. Often times on cheap rings just the outside edges need some minor sanding. However if you do the inside rings just sand till the paint start to flake away as its just aluminum.
Your going to need a Wheeler FAT wrench cause I don’t trust you. 🤣
Base Cross Screws tighten to: 20in/lbs (click twice) Top Ring Cap Screws tighten to: 15-18in/lbs (click twice) • reset your wrench back to 0 once done.
Mount it all back to your scope once you get your wrench and after you finished sanding. Adjust scope so its comfortable with your eye and ocular lens.
As for your rear wobbly sight I hope the threads aren’t stripped...🤨 you have to unscrew it completely it might have two screws as another could be hiding under the elevation detent you may have to undo. Once you found both screws add blue lock tight just a droplet to the end not much. Barely coat the thread screw it back in hand tight its only plastic let sit for 24hrs to cure. However if the sights are not loose like they are falling off theres no need yet. The plastic sight will wobble as if loose but thats normal for windage/elevation as its only cheap plastic.
If your unsure contact your guns customer service.
if you don’t need to be super accurate then I would recommend a red dot but that may just be me. I would use the monstrum prism sight or the predator red dot
If it hasn't been used in a while, you might want to run one of these lubricating carts through it. I've used these in some older CO2 guns with good luck.
Definitely put a drop or two of silicone oil on the top of the CO2 cartridge before you drop it in and screw it down. I like RWS but get whatever is cheap. One little bottle will last years.
Like others have mentioned, screw it down snug in a nice smooth fashion. If the seal is good, you'll hear a little pfft when it punctures, but then it will seal shut. You don't have to crank it down super tight or anything.
For "Over the counter" pellets, I really like Crosman Destroyers
While I posted the Amazon link, I find them locally in every store that sells air guns.
They won't help much with cutting through vegetation, but nothing I hit (mostly squirrels) moves more than a couple more steps after being hit.
Just saw this. A new one in .177 is $122 on Amazon with free shipping and returns and you'll get a scope with it
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001BS5OFG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_.t4LFb6SH815C
If that's not the exact same thing, there's other similar Chinese Beeman's for$150 or less.
In case you don't know about them, Mike at Flying Dragon Airguns is famous for tuning affordable chinese guns to perform alongside much more expensive guns. If I were to buy a gun for less than$200, I'd buy another from him.
He told me when I bought my CO2 powered XS60-C that he's going to be getting some of the German built Beeman R7's which are lower powered break barrels that are particularly easy to shoot and lightweight. That's going to be my first break barrel when I'm ready. Might be worth chatting with him if you're in the market for an affordable gun that will definitely shoot correctly right pretty of the box.
Does anyone know if the Competition Electronics ProChrono Digital Chronograph is any good? Seems to have a lot of positive reviews on Amazon.
Thank you for the advice. I actually did return the tank last night. Great thing about Amazon: hassle free return, even at 2AM. In anycase, look like I need to ponny up the cash to get a more expensive unit. Can you give me some recommendations? I was looking at this: Benjamin 90 cu Carbon Fiber PCP Charging System, but it's so expensive. Same with this one.
what would be best value?
Depends on your criteria 35 is the cheapest, has acceptable quality. Better with higher magnification on amazon cost 45 needs mount as well but those are budget scopes, better scope cost around 80-100 bucks.
https://www.pyramydair.com/s/m/Diana_Stormrider_Multi_shot_PCP_Air_Rifle/4449 thats the same gun but branded as a diana. you will need an air souce for it though. you can get a pcp pump for around 60 bucks on amazon that will work fine. https://www.amazon.com/Pressure-Stirrup-Charging-Silicone-Included/dp/B01MZ6O0ZA/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1527074294&sr=8-10&keywords=pcp+pump
I used amazon because I’ve had great customer support but I believe it’s on eBay as well. Very simple product- just a monitor mounted on the scope connected to a Infrared camera that mounts on the eye piece. Comes with a IR flashlight too. Just make sure you get quality 18650 rechargeable batteries if you do purchase it, they don’t come with it.
The seeker on Amazon; you can find both of these products elsewhere as well, for comparable prices, but these are the easiest way for me to link you to them...
I use this foam target; holding up well so far;
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004TAATM6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Can you link to a photo? I tried to pull it up but I'm getting a lot of different results, not sure which one is yours. It looks like either way you need a weaver style or a maybe a dual ring picatinny with a single thru bolt on the mounting plate. If it's the one that looks like a standard semi auto handgun with a proper slide, the thru bolt looks really close to the front sight. What is the distance between the slot and the closest edge of the sight blade? I like the dual ring scope mounts like this one https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0773CCLCS
I have the 3-12 version of this one on my bullboss, mine is sold out ATM. It holds zero well enough so far and has been easy to figure out. Pretty good for a budget scope.
If you want an amazingly accurate air pistol with an outstanding trigger and decent power, this should be one of the first guns that you consider.. Echelons better than the 340.
I assume you're talking about the swivel stud on the fore grip. Little nub facing down with a hole through the center? If so you just need a bipod for a swivel stud like this.
How about the Crosman bottle of 6000 for less than$9 on Amazon?
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000HKKY7M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fab_PAFDFbP04GYWF
For CO2, buy the Crosman boxes of 40 from Amazon/Walmart when the price is about$17.
I'm a hunter, I can help you with the DAMAGE and at least SOME accuracy.
I use Crossman steel pellets for headshots on larger game and Anything hollow-pointed for birds and small critters.
That's what I use on my .177 airgun. But I mostly hunt with .22 and above.
Is this what your talking about https://www.amazon.com/Gmconn-Flashlight-Compact-Handgun-Picatinny/dp/B098NFM7RG?ref_=ast_sto_dp? And does it easily adjust to the POI on your paper target with an airgun? And is 500Lm plenty bright? Also is the laser rated for 5mW?
I’ve never even read or heard of Brunox Turbo spray let alone use it for a CO2 airgun.
Your instruction mentions use “RMCOIL” for a reason which is the old name for Crosman Silicone Chamber Oil. It’s 100% silicone oil although there are other alternatives you can use such as and I highly recommend RWS Air Gun Chamber Lube.
Unless you want to risk ruining your gun do not deviate from 100% silicone oil.
Amzon I used one of these cheap pump from Amazon for 6 months till purchased a compressor
I have the following scope that is supposed to handle whiplash but who knows. Looks to be a middle of the road scope but has decent reviews...

A PCP may be in my future if this hobby takes off. I like the idea of a self contained gun for the meantime.
Thank you, I think I will get that one instead. I was considering this one https://www.amazon.com/Benjamin-High-Pressure-Hand-Pump/dp/B00460IFPW but am unsure about it
https://www.amazon.com/GX-Pump-Oil-Moisture-Stainless-Paintball/dp/B088T2234M
It is reliable and sturdy, the feet are thick and don’t flex when pumping, like the first cheap one I bought(which broke).
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09J4BHXT8?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details I love mine. Affordable and flawless. No water or oil. Works perfectly and great prices.
https://www.amazon.com/Genrics-Paintball-Cartridge-Capsule-Threaded/dp/B08D6CYPRW/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=14O0PBH63C2O6&keywords=co2+to+pcp+adapter&qid=1667920817&sprefix=co2+to+pcp+ada%2Caps%2C1294&sr=8-3 I just used one of these and my a stock gauntlet tank and reg. I had to trim the stock and remove the barrel to spin the tank on. I also had to remove the barrel shroud to accommodate the tank size.
https://www.amazon.com/GX-Compressor-Auto-Stop-Water-Oil-Separator/dp/B0819ZH85H/ref=mp_s_a_1_2_sspa?keywords=pcp+compressor&qid=1667915679&sr=8-2-spons&psc=1 there is also one with a built-in inverter for $40 more, but I like this version because I can also use my vehicles battery on the go.
Thanks! The foregrip has a little storage area for the seating tool and a little cloth for cleaning :)
4 inch that close? do you have like whats it called a gun stand? ig the thing that screws into a table GUN VICE
took some looking up anyways get sum like that if you dont already that should make you loads more accurate
heres a cheap one
scope also matters a tonnnnnnnnnnnn
i can hit a Nickle area consistently with my .177 pellet gun and i put a dif scope on it and cant even hit within a dollar at 100yards
A lot of people are using these:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08DRJ3JW7/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?smid=A3EE3FMH36ICX1&psc=1
Which one did you add? I ditched the black factory one mine came with after I noticed water bubbling from it. Ordered one of these and so far so good.
I started off with something like this Chrono The screen is now broken but it still will connects to my phone. I now have a Caldwell and have tested them with same shot, they are within 1.5% of each other
I received a CenterPoint 4-16X40 (https://www.amazon.com/CenterPoint-Optics-LR416AORG2-Illuminated-Adjustable/dp/B00TEAD3JW) as a gift and it works solid.
yep, it's a real airgun, it's for sale. Chose your flavor: PCP or Springer?
Rigth now, the PCP is cheaper ($450 US dollars) because most stores are out of stock from the springer, but you can easily find it at other sites and gun stores. Amazon is a jack of all trades, after all. And if you can't find it, just send an email to the brand (Diana Airguns) and they will help you.
and its not the fisrt time, one time they got 200€ in small rc helicopters from me, like this one. they ask me for everything in the book e give then all the bills and prints and mails and they keep them
https://www.amazon.com/Cheerwing-Phantom-Channel-Helicopter-Yellow/dp/B0178WRTG0
ok…I can help.
> Could anyone point me in the right direction here? Do I need to get a dovetail to weaver adaption?
depends on what you want to do. You can go dovetail rings (high) for your application but they must be equipped with recoil stop pin. However your limited on how far back you can slide the rings back before adjusting the scope itself.
OR
Buy a UTG Leapers MNT-DTW145 Dovetail to Picatinny Rail Adaptor! It’s an adapter mount that you use with separate picatinny (medium) rings of your choice. I have three of these and they fit the Crosman airguns very nice. Only one stop pin is needed and sets right into the hole on the receiver.
Yeah on the Prowlers it’s just a fluted plastic muzzle piece at the end of the barrel. No open sights are standard on that gun not to say its impossible if you want to take the time to source something and make it your own. But I think your better suited for a good optic.
I think your best bet would be to buy this as it seems the barrel is part of everything
So the orings I purchased did not seal. I believe the factory seal is not a torus but more of a cone. I ended up purchasing a whole new valve. It's not exact but it seems to seal okay with the o-ring that was on the old valve with a little care and work with a pick as not to crush/cut the oring when tightening down. Will do an overnight leak test.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09QS5484G?ref=ppx\_yo2ov\_dt\_b\_product\_details&th=1
Hatsan Optima 3-9X40AO just need coin (nickel) to adjust the turrets. It maybe real cheap but will survive springer recoil…lol…and the USPS shipping with or without the box.
Leaking Fill Valve going to try these @ 4.5mmx1.5mmx1.5mm
I want that gun…lol…only problem for me is it’s too loud for my back yard! Awesome choice.
Okay now I know what you have your going to also want to buy a UTG DNT06 scope mount (drooper mount) It locks into Diana’s flat dove tail slot perfectly to ensure that mount is going no where.
and your choice MEDIUM picatinny 30mm scope rings.
Do you also have a Wheeler FAT wrench as well? You might want one.
Basic torque settings:
I dont even have a tank yet but say I got this one https://www.amazon.com/HK-Army-Aerolite-Carbon-Paintball/dp/B07JHLK1K2/ref=sr_1_3?crid=5TTLCGF8FFD6&keywords=4500+psi+tank&qid=1663111852&sprefix=4500+psi+tank%2Caps%2C143&sr=8-3&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.f5122f16-c3e8-4386-bf32-63e904010ad0 it says it only fills to 800 psi but it holds 4500. Do I need something else?.
On Amazon usa. They are not under the Gamo name though..SIG Sauer .177 Airgun Magazine... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017WT806W?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share that's the ones you need. I just picked up 4 more for mine.
I don’t think it’s busted (but don’t rule that out) however these are typically not high quality scopes. But for what it is it’s something to use while you perhaps are saving out for something better or just figure you try it out. If your scope is like my 20+ year old scope the (0410) Superscope Targetfinder by Crosman these don’t have MOA style knobs let alone audible click values. The instructions on mine came on the back of the box giving you very little to go off of. And for adjusting the scope itself is literally trial and error with adjusting via a screw driver. I would be adjusting in half and whole turn from zero increments while using the same number of pumps every-time for consistency. Word of warning though do not use this tiny scope on a spring piston airgun (Springer).
Honestly what I have on my old Crosman 66 I have the Hatsan Optima 3-9X40AO it’s a very basic mil dot reticle and comes with rings to get you started if you have nothing.
Sightmark Wraith HD is a beast, I've got one on my S45 with a Gmconn IR laser sight. The Wraith has digital zero so it's supposed to be a single shot zero process, I need to find a range that will let me shut off the lights for a few minutes lol.
Flat White - Testors Enamel Paint and a tooth pick.
I have a Diana Chaser with the PCP conversion tank. I put some black fishing rod shrink wrap over it that made it blend in better and give it a grip. Where did you get the grip and other lower piece from?
I have the same problem with my Avenger; it wants to shoot low. I'm using WestHunter adjustable rings right now https://www.amazon.com/WestHunter-Adjustable-Picatinny-Tactical-Precision/dp/B08MDWGJ7F/ref=sr_1_2?crid=2J4IF50ZBGX5B&keywords=westhunter%2Badjustable%2Bscope%2Brings&qid=1661620479&sprefix=westhunter%2Caps%2C113&sr=8-2&th=1 , but I've used pop can shims in the past. The WestHunter rings aren't supposed to be more than one notch different (they use notches for adjustment) but that seems to be more than enough.
$350 I can work with that…lets see hmm…🤔
Honestly for the money your not going to get much better than this:
I was going to recommend a Vector Optics or Hawke Vantage FFP but price points doesn’t permit me to. Which leads me $152.01 left over which you can spend some money on your choice of scope rings or a one piece mount and a Wheeler Torque Wrench every airgunner should have in their tool box if you do not own one already.
> Why would you want to buy a scope on which the turrets and the reticle are not using the same unit though? That’s something I will never understand. Either you go full mildots, or full MOA, but a mix of both doesn’t make sense in my opinion.
I don’t disagree but it’s not OP’s fault Hawke does this with lower tier lines. In fact lots of budget brand scopes are like this. Though unfortunately the shooter has to mathematically calculate rather than rely on strictly the reticle info but mix and matching turret to reticle does not mess with accuracy after conversion. I’ve questioned Hawke Optics tech support about this and verified everything what they told me on paper. Yeah it’s a pain in the ass but if your on a budget only limited to SFP models your still getting a nice quality lens.
As for u/byebyeaddiction honestly if you can afford it I would suggest going with a Hawke Sidewinder 30 WA 4-16x50 in MRAD (FFP) it’s a complete kit that comes with everything you need to get started. I have the 2015 model of the Sidewinder it’s pretty bad ass after you know how to use it properly and it’s super easy to learn.
Get the one with the auto-shutoff.
If you're only doing direct-to-gun fills, it's a great little workhorse compressor. Mine's been going strong for 3 years now with oil changes every 10ish hours of total runtime (or when it gets really murky). For mitigate excess moisture getting into your cylinder if you live in a high humidity environment, this is a great add-on.
I only fill in my basement which runs 40-50% RH year round. YMMV.
> What might I not be considering?
BBs are very prone to ricochet, and thus are more likely to "escape" than pellets. You can avoid this by exclusively using "dust devil" BBs.
It’s a horrible habit to get into just like eye flinching every time the airgun goes off. I notice this with Airgun Angie and mind you this is with a Daisy Red Ryder. Winking while looking through a scope is another peeve of mine I even had to break myself. I guess only way to tell if you have such habits is to record yourself? 🤷🏻♂️
The girl behind the trigger is skiddish best way I can describe it while seeing the recoil followed with her head bobble like 0.75 seconds later. To me that gun intimidates her to the point where she may respect it but not very confident in her ability to wield it hence the tack driver bag. And that’s okay to start with but I would have her use a traditional Caldwell Deadshot bag over the Tack Driver style this way her muscles get used to experiencing like 75% of the gun vs just 10-20% balancing/pulling a trigger of the tack driver bag. And once she has more confidence then she can get used to shooting off hand with no head bobble this way she’ll hit her mark close to everytime.
Also this is for u/Abioape lets get some shooting glasses on this little darling. I’ve seen and experienced some interesting ricochets don’t just rely on large open areas for safety like Airgun Andy does.
> Those pesky screws! I refuse to loctite, but my 50s is horrible as keeping her screws in. Might have to reconsider.
u/stefanf86 / u/HackTossle I would consider using lock washers to keep them in place and flat washers to protect the wood. If you know the size of the screw you can use lockwashers to keep them in place. I flat out refuse to use Locktite/thread lock also its just a pain in the butt to wait for it to cure and tends to make a mess.
I ordered a set of stainless screws/washers/lockwashers the little kit is Glarks 510 Pieces Pan Head Stainless Steel Screws Nuts Lock and Flat Gasket Washers Assortment Kit. I got them on my RWS, Walther, Crosman, and Hatsan as they seem to be quite universal.
Wheeler FAT wrench is all you need. With me it’s under tightening and over…in some rare circumstances the wrench will find a fault in screws themselves. I’ve had screw heads bust at around 20 when scope ring manufacturers claim 30 being their max. With springer vibration under tightening can easily frustrate your day.
I got my self https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08ZN2YKGC?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details this filter, an my dry pac hill pump is coming thursday this little filter I got off amazon is perfect its not too big its only 3 inches long an 1.3 wide an the inside volume of air is not as big as you would think but I put a little silica pack 5 gram of the beeds in between 2 of the foam pads after that my cigaret filter screw in cap got my self a double dry pac system 🤣
The fitting is a one way foster valve, there is small piston inside it with an O ring they wear over time. Once the tank is empty you can unscrew the fitting and change the Oring. If you don't have an Oring you can get one from an Auto parts store, Hydraulic shop or Paintball shop. it is a very small O ring it is the green one in this link fitting
Pinty 6-24x50 AO I would not recommend it for a springer.
Get one of these...
I have,...several.
They are good shooters, you can pep them up a bit if you want, there are plenty of mods available for them..
One of mine will put 3 shots into the same hole at 60ft range, I shoot flies with it....

I haven't worked in the industry for a year, but this was a pretty fun one. You can get different varieties and it's the first thing that came to mind for me :)
If you get an Avenger, you'll need a chronograph. A good cheap one: https://www.amazon.com/VIKKA-Precision-Chronograph-Velocimetry-Chargeable/dp/B08DRJ3JW7/ref=sr\_1\_10?crid=2JPG5Y2KTOWR3&keywords=chronograph&qid=1657762733&sprefix=chronograp%2Caps%2C143&sr=8-10
