Marijuana decreases pressure in the eyes and increases blood flow. When this happens, the arteries in the eye-ball expand (due to decreased pressure). These areteries, especially when expanded, are visible in the white portion of the eye and make the eye appear "bloodshot" or red. This very result (decrease of pressure in the eye) is the primary reason marijuana is used to treat glaucoma. Glaucoma is the condition where there is excessive pressure in the eye. In some patients, the pressure can become so severe that it causes damage to the retinal nerve, ultimately damaging the patient's vision. Marijuana decreases this pressure. Because it causes blood vessells to slightly dilate (enlarge). So, the blood vessels in your eyes dilate, causing them to appear more red.

1 pack jello, I envelope raw gelatin, ⅓ cup water. Mix and leave for ten minutes.
Put syringe in glass of hot water to soften up.
Microwave jello mix for 30 seconds. Stir, and do it again. Whisk in distillate well.
Make some awesome gummy bears (buy 2 sets) - each will be about 11mg THC. Enjoy (responsibly)
If you know what weed smells like, you are going to be able to smell a vape, especially one with high quality oil in
it. EX: live resin etc. The spoofy should do you just fine, if you are really worried about it I would think about investing in a smokebuddy, which is basically a glorified carbon filter.

You can get a tiny cheap digital scale for $10-$15. Here's the #1 scale being sold right now on Amazon ($11.85):
https://www.amazon.com/Ozeri-Digital-Multifunction-Kitchen-Elegant/dp/B004164SRA
They run on AAA batteries and are good up to 11 pounds, showing your choice of ounces or grams. A good investment for the kitchen....
This. Don't fuck around trying different kinds, allow my 10 years of trial and error to work in your favor and just get this brand:
The screens are great at keeping your piece really clean, especially if you have a bong or bubbler. I started using screens when my piece broke like your gf's did, but I use them now in every piece I own.
EDIT: While you're at it, pick up some of this stuff: http://www.amazon.com/Grunge-Off-Super-Soaker-Cleaner/dp/B002LURISY?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage
It's an all natural cleaner, best I've ever used. After you've used a screen for a couple days and it gets gunky, just toss it in a shot glass with this cleaner. After a week or two, after you've gone through ~10-15 screens, dump the cleaner back into the bottle (it's reusable, like 20x or more reusable) and the screens are clean as when you bought them. It works on pipes, too. Just pour it in at night, and dump it out the next morning, and you piece will be perfectly clean. It's a little expensive, but like I said, it's reusable. I'm a heavy smoker, and I've been using the same bottle for almost a year now.
this is the go-to if you ask me. http://www.amazon.com/American-Weigh-0-01g-Digital-Scale/dp/B0012LOQUQ/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1435436261&sr=8-3&keywords=digital+scale
$10 and works amazingly for everything i've used it for.
Hey! Very cool that you're searching for your perfect strain. I love trying different strains and experimenting with them at home. It can be super fun.
The company I work for actually built an app that helps you log everything about how a certain strain is making you feel so you don't forget, and so you can learn from your past sessions and get a better idea of how certain strains might make you feel in the future. I hope this doesn't come across as spammy. I just wanted to share it with you in case you're interested:
iOS: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/releaf-thoughtful-approach/id1108402819
Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.releafapp.releaf
We initially built it for medical cannabis patients but we're in the process of making a recreational version. To use the current app in a recreational way, just select "something else" from the symptom list when prompted.
Personally, I find that strains with CBD in them are really helpful for anxiety and depression. My favorite strains have a 1:1 ratio of THC to CBD (my dispensary refers to these as "type 2" strains) -- the THC gives me the creative thoughts I tend to chase after, and the CBD lessens the occurrence of racing thoughts. I tend to stay away from super high THC strains because they oftentimes make me feel couchlocked, a feeling I dislike, and paranoid.
But everyone is different, so it's worth experimenting! Best of luck :)
