I also have this model, but was able to download X64_G3_4.0.0.BI82.img
It may help to open @aoleg77 's link in a private/incognito tab.
Also to keep tracking to a minimum, I used a temp email address https://temp-mail.org/en/
I suggest you to avoid NordVPN.
Go for another VPN that allows you to seed because NordVPN has blocked the seeding in P2P explicitly.
You can go with any of the recommended ones in Reddit (Mullvad, AirVPN, IVPN, OVPN) or any other that allows seeding or port forwarding.
As for Asustor, you should know everyone here (including me) has issues with how buggy Docker is in ADM.
Personally, I wouldn't get another Asustor NAS, unless your plan is set and forget with Docker apps (with no updates to the containers).
I went with this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08C4WV6FT?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details It was $44 a few months ago. replaced the 4gb and installed these 2. no issues
I have the 6706T and used a single 8GB stick of this:
TEAMGROUP T-Force Zeus DDR4... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B091ND8KJT?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
16gb seems to be hovering around 30% memory usage with quite a few apps running including Plex.
I don't recommend those SSDs they are not designed for Cache or NAS devices.
I bought 2x of these "Seagate IronWolf 510 240GB NAS SSD" for the CACHE drives.
Performance
Max Sequential Read Up to 2450 MBps
Max Sequential Write Up to 290 MBps
4KB Random Read Up to 100,000 IOPS
4KB Random Write QD32T4: 12,000 IOPS
QD32T8: 13,000 IOPS
MTBF 1,800,000 hours
This drive has 5x the read data rate of the SATA SSD drives you are looking at. The IOPs are about the same, and so is the life expectancy, but the endurance is 435TB lifetime for 240GB of space, vs. 360TB / 1TB. So the 240GB NAS CACHE drives have 20% more GB of writes in them, than the larger drive. Depending on your exact situation you might be fine on the larger 1TB SATA SSD, but it's certainly not ideal.
I bought 1x of these "Crucial RAM 8GB DDR4 3200MHz CL22 (or 2933MHz or 2666MHz) Laptop Memory CT8G4SFRA32A" for extending the ram. Extending the RAM was tricky and required multiple reboots and shuffling the ram around to find the right slots and order of inserting. You'll need dual-rank memory and my ASUSTOR was VERY FINIKY about ram, but now that it's installed it's rock solid.
I use this transceiver to connect my AS6508T to a Mikrotik SFP+ switch via 10 GbE RJ45.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RN7JCM6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I also have the same TB3-SFP+ adapter, and I don't see why it wouldn't work. You don't even need a DAC, you can just plug the transceiver/RJ45 cable into the TB3 adapter.
XG-C100C is $92 now after discount and AS-T10G2 is $119 with the IO plate for NAS in Amazon. Both are with stock. If you intend to use it in PC, XG-C100C is cheaper as the IO plate sfor NAS do not matter.
I'm certainly not advanced in any of this and some things you stated I haven't tried.
I don't think I know how to check the external IP from the router, is there more info step by step guide on this? I looked up online on both computers and the public IPv4 matches.
I did change the HTTP and HTTPS ports as asustor recommended. I changed them back to what it was default and tried that. Didn't work. How do I get a new cert? I have only on default in there and I uninstalled and reinstalled let's encrypt.
The 32400 port is closed. I went into settings and turned on EZ-Router and the status is a green checkmark. I went into firewall and made a rule to allow for ingoing and outgoing for port 32400. Still not working.
I also tried again uninstalling plex and reinstalling the apk file and that also didn't work.
I should have mentioned earlier that I recently started using Hotspot Shield VPN 2 months ago on this same computer since the ransomware. I can turn that on and off, I don't know perhaps if that has been creating an issue with any of this.
I also restarted my modem arris SB6141.
Okay so to the client side. I am running Ubuntu 18 on a fairly new HP machine. Do you happen to know if Ubuntu easily supports SMB multichanel (sorry I didn’t even look it up yet). A quick glance at Amazon and I see something like this SIIG Dual 2.5G 4-Speed Multi-Gigabit Ethernet PCIe Network Card, PCIe 2.0 x2 to Dual RJ-45, 2.5GBASE-T, NBASE-T, 2500/1000/100/10Mbps, Realtek RTL8125 Chipset, Dual-Profile Brackets (LB-GE0711-S1) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08DVF857S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_BRGXPJ5608QT5AB2EXC3
I am so happy you took the time reply to this post and my additional questions. I will dive into this topic some more with these new insights before making any additional purchases.
I was able to get NordVPN working on the NAS, but I would also like to run my own VPN server at the same time I’m running NordVPN. That way every device connected to my NAS’ VPN server will be connected to NordVPN as well
I would like to be able to have my NAS connect to NordVPN while running a VPN server. I’m hoping to be able to connect to my NAS’ VPN server from my iPhone, which will then be connected to NordVPN via the NAS. Is this possible?
Raid 5 can be mounted to another drive, you just need to plug them all in. I would recommend something like this.
You will need a unix distro with mdadm installed and possibly lvm if that was also enabled. I personally love these little docking stations as they make it really easy to pull data off a drive that's dying.
Create a bootable memtest pendrive ( https://www.memtest.org/ ), plug a monitor into the 5202t’s hdmi port a hook up a usb keyboard and boot off the pendrive ( hit esc during POST to get to the boot menu )
Most likely cause of these kind of lockups is a ram issue - only way to be sure is along ram test like memtest
I just thought of maybe another way to get Takeasy working again.
PS I just noticed your issue is with subscribing to YouTube channels. The latest version of Takeasy only has Twitch available in the subscription section.
I don't think there is. As far as I can tell even if you had a Raid, you can't span a raid across the expansion bays. Just so you know I don't have any experience with the expansion units.
If its just jbod just save the money and buy something like a Sabrent 5 drive bay with usb 3.1 gen 2 like this.
Interesting on the read/write speeds. Hadn’t considered that the faster LAN link would mitigate the need for improved cache. It will primarily be for media hosting/streaming but really just the data hosting initially. I have a dedicated media server currently to handle most of the supporting apps and the plex server itself. I am somewhat of a hobbiest so anything is possible in the future.
I was originally considering this QNAP switch but then the price jumped. Then I found this NETGEARone, which I will likely end up getting.
It is my first foray into going beyond 1000mb. I am open to your thoughts and advice if you have any to share.

to get it to work, I had to replace the 4GB ram DIMM in it's current slot, and then add the 4GB DIMM in the expansion slot, for a total of 20GB of ram.
get dual rank, and CL=19 or better, and you should be able to get it to work.
I got a 16GB Stick of OCW 16GB 2400 Mhz RAM (https://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B071K8K8LZ) which I inserted along with the pre-installed 4GB (so total of 20GB). I am currently on ADM 4.0 as well. 4+ months and everything has been working fine.
I love the fact that I can stream 4k movies using Jellyfin with no struggle.
I will answer myself here.
I decided to install Lubuntu (LXDE remix of Ubuntu) and now I have pretty much the same functionality and performance but everything is updated!
RAID1 can be configured during installation (I used Lubuntu 18.04 LTS x64 alternative from here: https://lubuntu.me/downloads/). Samba and OpenSSH have to be installed and configured manually, but with plenty of Ubuntu tutorials it was easier than I thought.
i did manage to finally get rclone to mount a cloud storage drive (put.io in my case) on this nas. after getting the arm7 binary from rclone site, i then got the archlinux arm pkg in arm7 for fuse2. i unpacked it and put the fusermount in /usr/bin and ulockmgr_server and mount.fuse in /sbin. the library files i put in /usr/lib and recreated the symbolic links. rclone worked but only as root user. no other user mount worked. but that was good enough for me as rclone offers enough mount options. the drive cannot be seen using nfs but is fine using smb.

I've used these in my AIO before so I might go with these... https://www.amazon.com/Noctua-redux-1700-high-Performance-Award-Winning-Affordable/dp/B07CG2PGY6/ref=psdc_11036291_t1_B00KFCR5BA
Im pretty certain that This one has 2 2.5gbe and 2 10bge ports https://www.amazon.com/Asustor-Lockerstor-Enterprise-Attached-Quad-Core/dp/B07Y2BJZKC
So basically im going to use all the ports but im with only two devices on 10gbe at one time.
It sounds to me like you connect to to NordVPN with your NAS as a client.
While I appreciate the responses to alternate solutions, I have an alternate solution that works. However the question I posted is around the native VPNserver offering on the NAS and more specifically around the config file it produces.
>d model or the one I found? EDIT:
Yes, the one you found:
