I can't state the utility of this option (I never used it personally), but there is https://www.freecycle.org/town/Barrie and maybe some Facebook groups (I know there are some from my old town, but I haven't joined anything in Barrie yet)
Shoppers has had them (last time I looked though I couldn’t find them), but I got these on Amazon and like them
Maybe 1 way mirror film on the window for daytime, and a infrared floodlight near the window for night. Bonus if you can set it up to flicker because he will get a notification for every time it turns on haha
My wife is using recipes from a book called, Fermented Vegetables by Kirsten K. Shockey and Christopher Shockey.
There are tons of recipes for different krauts, but she like the basic naked kraut.
This is the book on Amazon: https://www.amazon.ca/Fermented-Vegetables-Creative-Fermenting-Chutneys/dp/1612124259/ref=asc_df_1612124259/?tag=googlemobshop-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=292951821317&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=7160782588753962029&hvpone=&hvptw...
Looks like its now available on the Apple App store and the Google Play store.
This is going to be a god sent. Pickup a bottle before Amazon jacks up the price, I bought mine last month while it was still available on Amazon prime
I know of 5 used bookstores in barrie, and a handful of thrift shops and shit like that. For used bookstores:
The Book Store @ Mapleview and Huronia Rivendell Books @ Wellington Plaza Old Foresters @ 31 Ross St. Kerry's Books @ 25 Dunlop St. W. David's Books @ 12 Commerce Park Drive (right by Goodwill)
As for thrift shops, I don't usually have much luck there. There's a bunch of little ones scattered all over town, then a few bigger ones like Good Will and Value Village. I've had decent luck a couple times, but mostly there's nothing that interests me there.
Glad someone finally responded to my post though, lol. I'm doing a reading challenge type thing for 2012, where I want to read 25,000 pages and 52 books. I'm doing well so far, but it's still early and classes started this week, so I'm sure my pace will slow down. Here's my progress so far, though.
We haven't gone out of our way to hide ours as being visible is part of the deterrent. No one has said anything and I think, nowadays, it's becoming a lot more common to see them. I know at least 3 other friends who have them (two of whom use the same ones as me).
In terms of cameras, I would recommend Eufy - we have these ones . Unlike Ring, you don't have to pay a monthly fee and they store the notifications and recordings you take for, I think, up to approximately 3 months or so before overwriting them. We also got their wireless doorbell and were able to easily do the installation of everything ourselves.
The quality has been great and we get almost instantaneous notifications - even in the midst of winter. The only downside is that the battery life isn't amazing. I think we charge ours every 3 months or so, but you can easily pull them out and connect them to a USB charger for a couple of hours.
I got one of these Auto Rolling Mouse Trap,Reset Multi Catch Mouse Trap Bucket,Safe Rolling Flip N Slide Bucket Lid Mouse/Rat Trap || Humane Mouse Trap || Live catch for mouse traps indoor || Safe for Children and Pets(Yellow) https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B099Z13PT5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_SEAZPHTM3E4SBW5BKNNG?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
And they work fine, you may capture the whole family in one night
not sure how much traction this’ll get but i’m a local artist working on a webcomic if anyone wants to kill a few minutes.
(some adult content later on, not without warning though.)

Consistently at or over advertised speeds. Promised 500 down / 20 up, just got 532 down / 21.57 up with a 12ms ping.
I am also hardwired, which would bypass any restrictions that the wireless router portion of the modem may have. If you're on anything besides a phone, you can plug an ethernet cable between the modem and your device and see if the problem still persists, and if that remedies it then the issue is congestion on your wireless network.
Just how much below advertised speeds are you actually receiving? Run a speed test and let us know what you're getting compared to advertised speeds.
pretty river valley its about a 45min drive from barrie near collingwood https://www.alltrails.com/trail/canada/ontario/pretty-river-and-bruce-trail-loop

Can't help on the housing side, however, I can make some suggestions on the income side.
You mentioned you're disabled, not sure to what extent or what specifically is the issue... however I can see you at least have access to a computer and internet. You can type and write quite well, and seem to have a good head on your shoulders!
That said, have you considered applying for any jobs that allow fully remote work and allow you to just work from your computer? I know dozens of companies hiring remote exclusively that pay quite well and require basic skills, like English language, a computer and internet.
Even as a virtual assistant, you can easily make $15-$20 an hour to run basic admin tasks that anyone can handle.
You could also try creating a listing for yourself on a site like fiverr.com where anyone can basically make a profile and start freelancing. You can edit people's writing, transcribe audio to text, and a variety of other things that again don't take much skill and pay well.
Hope that helps somewhat, if not... I gave it a go! Best of luck.

+1 for just physically destroying them yourself.
Depending on how sensitive you think the data is, you could also wipe the drives first using something like DBAN. That way if they were ever reconstructed (technically possible, highly improbable), the data would be more difficult to recover.
Can't recommend Zed Shaw's Python book enough: https://learnpythonthehardway.org/book/. His learncthehardway book was pretty good too.
Plenty of resources out there to get you started and then some.
Also, you can get more practice solving katas: https://www.codewars.com/.
I have a backup Sump that runs on the city water. This way if my electric sump doesn't kick in this thing will. Its cheaper than a Battery backup and will last longer (assuming the city water keeps pumping.)

Yup, even less - I bought a cheap one for like $12 and it ended up working ok-ish with basic phone app, but was detected as a "Cheap clone" on PC based laptop software.
This one however, I think I paid $18 for at the time has worked great on all platforms and software:
