Seeing English isn't your native language, I'd say you're doing ok.
To help, if you want to give a book a try, I'd read On Writing Well: The Classic Guide to Writing Nonfiction, by William Zinsser or The Elements of Style by William Strunk Jr.
Hello. I have started a blog that focuses on motivation/mental health.
I took a look at your blog, and I just think you need to add a bit more to your body to break up the text. There are royalty-free images you can use at sites like Pixabay.
Also, subheadings go a long way as well. They help separate your paragraphs a lot more into their own sections simply and efficiently. Good luck! The hardest part is the beginning. Keep building momentum.
Hi Picard,
I read some of your posts and enjoyed reading them. For example the juice routine, maybe you should continue with that. I liked the way you described the 5 days but are you going to make a habit out of it? Love the idea of using reddit only for self improvement. This site has so many opportunities and you gave a great way of using it most efficiently. I guess that in the road to your own succes the social support it can give is a great detail about it. Keep up the good work! Also I don't know if you know habitica but it's a great way to structure your life and make habits
I have been using Medium for a little under a year. If you are looking for a very simple clean layout, I think it's the best. Mind you, it is VERY simple, but that's kinda what I like. You can direct link You Tube videos on your page, and use a photo for a banner (as well as throughout your article).
Doing something is better than doing nothing, so start your blog today. You will learn a lot by simply starting. It will not be perfect first time and you will make mistakes, but that is how we learn. Many successful bloggers were not successful on their first attempt, it is there second, third or even fourth site.
Start with a free wordpress.com site and get to know it. Long term, you will be better off with self-hosted WordPress, but you will find it easier to move between WordPress hosts than between a non-WordPress site like Blogger and WordPress.
A free Grammarly account and browser extension can help with your writing.
Not necessarily. Wordpress powers a lot of big sites so that might be the best way to get started, whether you self-host or use their Wordpress.com services.
You can however whatever you name your blog in the beginning may have its URL taken before you can build up your visits! Also, if you are trying to build loyalty its best to have an address people can remember so if you move to a paid service later they can still find you. It isn't to expensive to purchase one but you can work your way up from a free service for sure!
It take a lot of self promotion on the various social networks and leaving comments on other posts/blogs to get your blog noticed. Overall search engines will eventually find it and list it, but unless you are good at getting your site optimized for search engines you may not even show up on the first few pages. Therefore focus on participating in various forums, social networks and on other blogs to start out. Overall be genuine in both what you write about and what you comment on, people can spot fakes or people just trying to get attention real quick!
Wordpress.com is your best go-to for a free beginner's blog. You won't be able to do much with it (for e.g. free themes are often fairly simple, and the last time I used it you weren't able to install plugins). It also has adverts on sometimes, but for a general newcomer it has enough for you to practice and get started.
I think OP meant this.
For comparison, I think a read of Thompson's work is in order.
Honestly, a free version of WordPress might do the trick for you.
If your aim is not online traffic and just having something easy to use, this is as easy as you can expect. The free version is really straightforward, and you can set it to be a protected blog.
So I have been writing blogs about TV series, This blog is about Westworld, hope you enjoy.
Check out https://unsplash.com/. They have free hi-res stock images that they update daily. For cartoons and vector images try pixabay.com. I do marketing for a financial firm and use both of these for photos so you should have some luck.
