The Adams and Sullivan were unopened, and the Hemingway appeared to only have one that had even been removed from the box, with the others having unwrinkled wax paper still on them and unbent spines. They seem to be from the 1930's, so possible first editions...?
Edit: Thanks for the information everyone. While certainly not first editions, they are very early prints.
Still available and on sale!

They are a beautiful soft leatherette! They have the illustrations and maps in them as well!
I think that's a Barnes and Noble leatherbound classic. They have tons of classic literature and sci-fi in that set if you're looking for matching volumes.
I purchased it a few years ago off of Amazon and the grey version appears to no longer be available, but here is a blue version of the chair:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B013F6WEZY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_SR3kDbX2YH2EG
There are also 33 of them for sale on Abe.com
Some of the booksellers are in other countries, so you might be able to find a local dealer.
Yeah, that's the right wrong spelling, but I've never seen an ARC of it before. Interesting. It would make sense that it would have the same misspelling as the first print run, though. It's also likely worth way, way more than the hardback true firsts, since it's even rarer. A quick look at Bookfinder doesn't turn up a single ARC, so I'd have no idea what to estimate on it. Awesome score! Keep it safe and in good shape.
The Cry For Justice is a reader/anthology edited by Upton Sinclair and available through Project Gutenberg. It's a really great volume of various types of radical leftist writing from the time period along with art work throughout. It's a great place to start.
Pitzer College also hosts The Anarchy Archives which has a ton of stuff in it.
Exactly like Bloodborne. The game is very lovecraftian overall and the Fishing Hamlet is inspired by 'The Shadow over Innsmouth', so that could be a good place to start. I haven't actually read any Lovecraft yet though I am considering this edition which includes Innsmouth
Sure, it's a low fantasy setting and focuses on a diverse range of characters who are experiencing their own dilemmas- a princess returning to the home she fled to face her traumas, a king trying to maintain peace for his people but slowly losing the trust of his family in doing so, and a peasant boy conscripted into a savage war.
I've linked the Amazon page too where I have a more detailed synopsis, because I'm planning on making this epic in scale and so there are A LOT of turning wheels.

Good eye! It's the recent edition illustrated by Allen Lee
The price fluctuates between £100 down to the mid 50's so keep an eye on it and you should be able to pick them up without breaking the bank.
The place used to be a beer brewery, and the chandeliers are made of old beer bottles.
Ooooooh Very nice, I've started collecting these http://www.barnesandnoble.com/s/?dref=9%2C149&sort=SA&store=bargain&view=grid&fmt=physical&AUD=tra
I've only got 2 or 3 but its somethin!
> I'll admit I have a "buying faster than I read problem."
I have the same problem, my problem is now stacked 1 meter high! (and growing).
This disease has a name: Tsundoku http://www.openculture.com/2014/07/tsundoku-should-enter-the-english-language.html
First (signed) edition of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. Droooooooool........
Both online! My copy of Vampire chronicles was supposed to be used but I bought third party and it came wrapped in the original plastic and sticker that it was in when it came from barnes and noble. Be weary of ordering the Dune it can be bought directly from Amazon but the price can bounce around pretty wildly from as little as 40 to as much as 100! Hitchhiker's is the funniest book I read, the characters and the premise(travel through space) is really fun. This edition has all the 5 books in the series - Hitchhiker's
A light we cannot see is an amazing book, it is a journey through time from the point of views of some characters set in Europe during World war. The prose is really beautiful.
Birthday girl is a short story, nothing unique about this but the ending is open to interpretation I think. I started this to get a flavour of Murakami's work.
Have an upvote. :)
Forgive me for stalking you, but my suggestion would be to add some Erich Kästner to you reading list.
I would especially recommend this book in this exact edition:
Drei Manner im Schnee [German]: Erich Kästner: 9783126757218: Books - Amazon.ca
Yeah, it's a little intimidating. If it seems like a bit much, one of McCaffery's better short works, The Smallest Dragonboy, was also published in this anthology (which, as an aside, is probably the best collection of short stories I've ever found) and it stands alone quite nicely, so you could give that a shot first to see if you like her writing and world-building.
After a little hunting in http://www.bookfinder.com/ I found these beauties. I am no expert book collector, but I must say that I never thought that you could buy early 19th century tome for a few dollars. Leaves of Grass: $7.12 Ralph Waldo Emerson’s Essays: $4.95 and $8.80 Think and Grow Rich: $16.99 Marcus Aurelius’ Meditations: $9.66 As a man thinketh: $8.41 The Edinburgh Lectures: $3.80 Walden: $25.90

Amazon's Kindle Matchbook is a good start as well. I will always buy the physical book as I prefer it, but it's pretty cool they are doing this now. And that it's retroactive is even better:
Hey thanks! I ordered it from Amazon:
10 Pieces Magnetic Bookmarks... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B085MCJ28Y?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
What cover was that? Haven't heard of it.
And about as random as these LOL?: https://www.amazon.com/Dracula-New-Bram-Stoker/dp/1702558150
https://www.amazon.com/Dracula-New-Bram-Stoker/dp/1702559467
If you're still looking for a good cover to get, there is SeaWolf Press' edition which has a poster from the original 1931 adaption: https://www.amazon.com/dp/1952433991
And then you could get this one for the LOLs: https://www.amazon.com/Dracula-New-Bram-Stoker/dp/1702559033
I have this set, but would note that it is the Heritage Press reprint of the 7 volume Limited Editions Club version. The columns on that one are more impressive - http://www.openculture.com/2015/06/the-splendid-book-design-of-the-1946-edition-of-gibbons-decline-and-fall-of-the-roman-empire.html
I chose the HP on the grounds that it is, in addition to being a great read:
- a lot cheaper than the LEC
- the LEC is made of sheep leather - this is not durable
- not as tacky as EP shiny leather
- has all the footnotes which are missing in Folio Society eds.
That’s the Foundations of Freedom box set from Word Cloud Classics….you can get them new for only like 40 bucks and they’re totally worth it, here’s an Amazon link if you want it!

Amazing, amazing, amazing book.
Amazon Prime Video has the miniseries with Robert Duvall, Tommy Lee Jones, Danny Glover, Robert Urich , Diane Lane, Ricky Schroder, D.B. Sweeney, Angelica Huston & Steve Buscemi!
I have the Penguin edition of his book. Absolutely love this book, especially reading about erendira when I was a kid just destroyed me.
Tbh I wouldn’t recommend them but here’s the link! Sauder Select Collection 5-Shelf... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01FG92PD4?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share Originally was looking to get an IKEA Hemnes but they’ve been out of stock /:
You can find these on Amazon as well. Just search for “monster bookend”. I have the demon one for my shelf. There’s a ton of these things out there, a lot of which are from unreliable sellers. If you get one from Amazon, make sure it at least has prime shipping (even if you don’t have prime), and ships from Amazon, and has at least a few reviews.

This is the only link i could find, i dont know if they sell the book with this cover anywhere else online, i bought it in Venlo, the Netherlands today at a store called Koops!
This journal is written to encourage women of all color and creed that they are more than what the physical eye sees. The level of greatness they possess sits dormant, and I believe that this is the season, women of all backgrounds should raise the bar of little- mindset and embark on the journey of greatness. Knowing is dangerously good in this instance!! When a woman discovers who she really is, it can be a life-changing moment; when a woman knows whom she belongs to, who holds her future, and who fights all her battles will revolutionize her thinking. She will no longer settle for less and will begin to soar to new heights.
I believe that it is vital for every woman to take the time to learn to discover who she really is and what is her purpose.
LOVELY AND AMAZING BOOK TO READ
Madman's Library is awesome. It actually got me to buy a translation of Renard's "Fishes, Crayfishes, and Crabs" just because I decided that I wanted that vivid beautiful madness in my life.

...unfortunately, the colors in the copy I got are much more washed out than the ones that Brooke-Hitching gives us. No idea who's at fault there.
You might be interested in this book compiling Carroll’s letters. This manuscripts is referred to in it often.

Btw Carroll had an unhealthy infatuation with young girls. To the point where parents started to become concerned. Also in this book.
Below is the link for that copy - was only £22, it’s nowhere near folio society quality but it’s pretty decent quality for the price! Pages are very thin and text is pretty small to keep the size of the book down.

Congratulations! One of my holy grail books has still eluded my grasp http://www.abebooks.com/servlet/SearchResults?kn=asbestos+firestarter&sts=t&x=0&y=0
Maybe one day, firestarter, one day.
Very nice, I would love to see the Dali. I have no Alice books, but I do have the limited edition of Frank Baum's The Wizard of Oz book, which has incredible illustrations. I would recommend it for your collection if interested. https://www.amazon.com/Wizard-Oz-L-Frank-Baum/dp/1558586385 On abe books the limited editions (out of 500) are pretty pricey tho.

That is the closest match I can find. Looks like the spines are pretty close, but I cannot find that blue slipcase anywhere.
Sure! The only issue is that I bought it from Amazon MX, so I hope there is no problem with that. So, there you go
“It's Summer 2005. Nineteen-year-old GRAYSON WINTERS is slacking around Rotterdam, New York, when his dysfunctional PUNK ROCK band TROUBLE BORED lands a last-minute gig that could rocket their careers: opening for legendary rockers ANGERFM at the renowned venue GREEN 90, just outside of Burlington, Vermont. Calling on the help of his drug-dealing best friend, NICO RICCI, GRAYSON risks life and love to get his bandmates to the show in one piece.
"When I think about the years I spent with my brothers in music, before it all slipped away, one weekend comes to mind as the supernova of our entire existence as a band. The climax and the point of no return, where everything we worked for and everything we took for granted was gut checked out of our control. Before we self-sabotaged, before some of us lost faith, before some of us left this earth, we had this last crazy weekend where everything we earned and everything we owed played out."
Shipping costs can be a killer, that’s understandable. These may be helpful if you have trouble with small font
A little more about my book:
Genre: Psychological Thriller/Fantasy
Blurb: Waking to a living nightmare, David White finds himself trapped in his own home. Accompanied only by his dog Buddy, they search for a way out before it’s too late. But the key to their escape is trapped within his shattered memory.
This week the kindle version is only $0.99 cents on Amazon.
Link: Fate of the Firelight
I’m not sure where to buy this exact set these days. My wife is a very clever thrift/antique shopper and put this set together for me from a couple different stores. This used set on Amazon is all I could find. Looks to be in good condition, though.
Right now my first book is available on Amazon Kindle for free from 2/8/21-2/12/21. Here is the link: Fate of the Firelight
It would be this trilogy here once I started reading the first book I couldn't put it down. The book you just described sounds like a really fun read and I'm going to check it out. Thanks!
These are two Japanese artbooks by Emi Tamaki (玉木 えみ) , where she personifies different species of mushrooms as cute anime girls. I order the books through Japanese Amazon here:
In Brazil a publishing company called Darkside Books published in 2018 an edition of Dracula that it's almost a facsimile of this one.
you can check it out here
I once found a book in a used book shop that had its original butcher paper slipcover. The slipcover intrigued me, as it had no writing on it, but had a hole where a logo could be seen on the hardcover, so clearly it went with the book. It turned out to be a copy of "Sex without fear" It was not racy per se, but it does go into detail about the human reproductive system and how the sex act is performed.
Shameless self-promotion of my poetry books!
Hard to say, but this might be it:

I'm not a fan of Steinbeck and I hated TLP, but Marcus Aurelius should be required reading.
If you like Stoicism, there's a new book that does a great overview of it with a lot of citations from Aurelius. I've only just started it, but Farnsworth's others books are best of breed on their topics. His rhetoric book will change the way you write and possibly speak.
Awesome! I too got my first Folio Society books this christmas, I got The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat (Beautifully illustrated) and "Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman!". I've been eyeing Fahrenheit 451 in Folio, and I may just have to pull the trigger what with the sale going on!
Nice, looks like one I'll add to my ever growing tbr list. We share similar tastes so I'd like to recommend you a few things:
Nottinghill Editions - publisher of modern essay writing
Kenzaburo Oe - Nobel prize winning author, for me he's writes the perfect novel
Library of American - similar to EL but only publish American authors, bit more expensive but most volumes are omnibuses
LOAs recent special edition of DFWs tennis writing link
Atlas of an anxious man
