I am not sure, at all, what this shitty borrower is trying to accomplish by lying. PayPal does offer international payment transfers, even to Israel. Link here for international transaction and fees.
This isn't a shady deal, obviously, as you have lent before and everything has turned out pretty much A-OK. How can the original borrower claim that you are scamming them when, in fact, it appears they have scammed you. How can you be scamming someone for the money THEY RECEIVED from you? lol I don't understand this person's post at all. I'm sorry you're dealing with this.
Just wanted to also thank /u/Tjstretchalot for making my life a lot easier pulling some of these stats. I got a few requests for stats for unpaid loans. For the month of Feb, here are the unpaid stats
Here's the distribution curve for unpaid loans $50 increments for the data I had from Feb:
https://plot.ly/~elaboratexplanation/77/number-of-unpaids-per-50-increment/
From the graph you can see loans in the $150-250 range had the highest number of defaults for the month of Feb
If someone were to transfer you the money through paypal you'd have it as a paypal balance. You can then transfer that balance to a bank but do your research, it can sometimes take up to 21 days for the money to transfer depending on the transfer type and your account status (https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/helpcenter/helphub/article/?solutionId=FAQ2175&topicID=&m=ARA) . Or you can use that paypal balance at many physical and online merchants to buy things you need as long as they accept paypal as payment
According to Paypal ToS minors are not supposed to use Paypal:
Children are not eligible to use our service and we ask that minors (persons under the age of 18) do not submit any personal information to us or use Paypal services.
> Purchase Protection covers all eligible online purchases where PayPal is used, as well as payments made through our website. To take advantage of Purchase Protection, we require, among other things, that accounts to be kept in good standing and ask that a dispute be filed within 180 days of your purchase or payment.
Doesn't the first paragraph defeat the whole point of the second paragraph? It someone has stolen an account, how does having the whole history prove innocence? Comparisons of writing style? Anyhow, here's proof of usage six years ago.
I could 99.99% prove via a phone call, live cam, and virtual desktop that this login username is the same as the one I have for Twitter, Gmail, and even Wells Fargo. I mean, it's not like this is a random username (it's the brand of a billion dollar company) and I could do a damn good job of proving ownership.
And I post there as a supporter, cheerleader, and observer. I don't think coherently written statements in a sub proves anything, especially since I'm more than willing to escrow with my bank account info and more.
Cheers.
So would the $500 be enough to cover your credit cards, rent bills, and the payday loan? A general breakdown of these expenses might help make lenders more comfortable with this one. You don't need to list transactions or anything, or even specifics. I just mean like how much money would go to each.
And is your Paypal verified (attached to a bank account)? You can check if you're not sure by plugging your email address into the end of this url and then copy/pasting: https://www.paypal.com/verified/[email protected]
it doesn't cost any money to create a paypal account.
you just won't be able to access the money for 3-5 days while it transfers to your bank since you won't have a paypal debit card.
If you sent him the money via goods and services, you can file a dispute against him. Just don't bring up that it was a loan in the correspondence between you and Paypal (they don't cover it). You aren't guaranteed your principal back but its worth the try.
Here is a link describing the dispute process. Its pretty straightforward.
Thank you....I failed my "background check" because I used a mail.com "https://www.mail.com/" email address, and selected a counselor domain, which I thought would look better on resumes with my Psych degree...I wish you wouldn't air arbitrary info as "some information that made me change my mind," it's not fair to simply post that mate. Otherwise, cheers.

Hey, just want to give you some information on the interest.
Based on what I have seen, 20-25% is an average for approved loans. For anything lower, you will need to have a good rep on the sub, usually, or a story that compels someone to help.
Offering more is two fold, it will get you more people looking, but will also make people more suspicious, because if it's 30% and up, people think it's a trap.
Ultimately however, if you are here requesting a loan, it means you have mismanaged your financials. You are the only one that can determine how much you can afford to pay back how quickly on top of the loan. You don't want to promise too much and then struggle to make ends meet again.
I would recommend learning to budget. YNAB is easy and offers free classes (with the chance to win the software). Some people don't like it, but I find it lets people get a grasp of budgeting. Sorry if that sounds like an ad, but I switched to the software to kill pen and paper balancing and it just fucking works. I know some people prefer Mint, but it lacks something for me.
I apologize if I did anything incorrectly.
I am asking for this loan to help pay for part of a bag of cat food for my three cats. I live off of my Social Security Disability (can provide proof to lender), and I thought the bag of food would last until my next payment on Friday, February 1st. They eat both wet and dry food. Last night was the last bit of their dry food, and I've been feeding them wet food today so far (usually they just get it at night). The oldest kitty is used to grazing on dry food all day so she's a bit confused. I feel horrible and would really prefer to ask for help to place an order ASAP, then repay on Friday.
I have a bit of a gift card balance left over, and the $15 would cover the rest. I am able to repay $20 on Friday via PayPal.
I am happy to provide pictures of all the kitties, and anything else needed.
Thank you!
From what I've read, if I were to come in and give them my laptop back right now, I would have one year to come back and pick up my contract from where I left off. If I were to come in one year and one day from when I dropped it off, my money in the item is lost.
The contract told me that when they physically repo an item, the contract ends immediately.
Bonus: If you try to pawn it, there is a pawn system in place that will automatically report the serial number of the laptop as stolen. Also, if you don't pay it and move to another state, it's a class E felony of "obtaining property by false pretenses."
EDIT: Extra special bonus: I was once borrowing a Galaxy Note 5 from them until I could get a replacement, and I noticed that the firmware ended in '_RAC'. Turns out, their headquarters installs a custom ROM that allows RAC to find its location if you default on it.
EDITEDIT: The reason I wanted to leave RAC so bad is because of this. Here is the laptop I have from them. After paying it off, I would've paid $3,639. Here is the exact same laptop on Amazon for $1,313. That is a 177% increase.
Pricy vehicle to maintain.
