Vampire learns Genome Skills and aside from the -ja moves, every other skill is physical base. I gave mine Knuckle Lore and Natural Talent to boost the genome skills. You can use Drain Atk Up, Two Hand and Sword Magic Amp for more survivalbility. Monster Attack up should be your staple. I gave mine the Conjurer as the sub class because Susano-O and Prometheus Fire will bump the damage your Vampire can dish out to insane heights. White Wind and Fire Storm are great moves for Vampire. White Wind heals for the amount of HP the user has and Fire Storm does AOE damage and debuff.

Less than a year or so is a bit on the slow side, but not all too long considering all the translating, writing, re-writing, and recording that's going to be going on with what's likely a very small team. That being said, games like The Witcher 3 came out in all of its languages pretty much at the same time and the anime Space Dandy managed to broadcast in both Japanese and an English dub at the same time, which might strike people who are used to these long localization schedules as odd.
If I had to guess, the real reason they're probably taking so long is because Square Enix didn't do any of that localization work at all during the development of the title in Japan. It seems that a lot of Japanese companies do this (probably to gauge interest in the title before risking spending money on a localization) instead of just having their teams work on everything at the same time.
Mostly just speculation on my part, but that kind of organizational stupidity and/or risk aversion are the only real things I can think of that would make these things take so long.
Well, this is quite a bit different than tactics, this is more like the traditional FF games, but that was my favorite game as well! The Tactics Ogre series was very close to tactics, so you might want to check that out as well!
As an aside that's hardly Bravely Default related, but related to FFT, there's a spiritual successor being made by Yasumi Matsuno currently being kickstarted here:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/482445197/unsung-story-tale-of-the-guardians
But I can't wait till Bravely Default gets here, it's been a long time since I've been excited about a JRPG!
Why do you have only one villager? Normally you can update once a day to get about 4 dudes to level up the shops (it's the update menu item in the save menu of the red adventurer).
You get the false ending by breaking any crystal. This is done by spamming X during any Rite of Awakening and ignoring Airy. Once you get the false ending, you restart your current chapter so it's possible to to get both the false ending and true ending in the same playthrough. You can do the false ending at any point that you feel strong enough to finish the game. The true ending is gotten by awakening each crystal normally.
If you're looking to get all of the event viewer cutscenes, it's impossible on a single playthrough. For example, you get a different cutscene if you meet Chapter 1 asterisk holders for the first time in chapter 5, but then you'll miss the cutscenes that you would have gotten in chapter 1. I followed Sailor Nemesis's guide on gamefaqs to get most of the cutscenes: http://www.gamefaqs.com/3ds/729328-bravely-default/faqs/68431
This FAQ has a couple of team builds, but I've never tried them other than the first Eternia money farm build so I don't know the effectiveness of them.
You can see how the jobs affect your stats here. The table show that the Thief (compared to the Red Mage) gets a slight STR reduction (-10%) but a big DEX/AGI bonus (+50%/+30%).
The result from this alone should be most probably that the Thief causes more damage. When you attack an enemy with a regular each attack is a compund of multiple hits (it shows X hits when they damage an enemy). DEX/AGI (haven't looked it up) increases the hit count and accuracy. The Thief has higher values in these stats so they cause overall more damage because they have more sub-attack and more of these actually hit the enemy (even if individually they cause less damage).
For example (all made up numbers) The Red Mage could cause 12 damage with 5 hits for a total of 60 damage (that's what gets shown) while the Thief would cause 10 damage with 9 attack for a total of 90 damage.
The rank affects the weapon's P. Atk. and the Red Mage has a rank of C with bows except if you equip the Bow Lore support ability (to get rank S). The Thief already has a rank of A so the difference between your two jobs (S and A) is not that big (20%). This would probably contribute a bit to the Red Mage's better damage potential that would be eliminated by the Thief's better DEX and AGI stats.
I just looked it up: Press X for the menu, then Tactics, then Status. Chose a character and select the second (from the top) tab for their stats. Touch DEX (accuracy) or AGI (hit count) for details.
If that character is a already a Knight then your Knight already has an S rating in Swords and Shields so he doesn't need these Lore support abilities. These are useful if you want to transfer this competence with that equipment to another job. The same goes if that character were a Templar for Swords and Armors.
Both have an A rank for Helmets (and the non-S ranked remaining armour type) so you have evaluate for yourself if the slightly higher P. Def bonus is worth the support ability slot for the Helm/Shield/Armor Lore. If you want P. Def then P. Def 10% Up might be worth more than any of the Lore abilities as both jobs already have quite hight ranks in most armour types.
Also Protect Ally in the Knight's built in ability so you don't need to select that one too. That means you probably have all five slots free to select something else.
You could look at this: http://www.gamefaqs.com/3ds/729328-bravely-default/faqs/68700
It's an job guide for the game where the author comments on the abilities. Just remember that these are the authors preferences and you might find some combination that fits your play-style or is needed for a combo. In addition it has some general explanation regarding the job system.
A little explanation on what your Knight should do in a fight would be useful so people can suggest sets that work with the role. There are three other characters and too many abilities to make one set useful in all circumstances.
Here's a link to the rod section of a gamefaqs.com guide. Like staves (who get grouped with the poles and other fighting staves) rods get grouped with clubs and maces so their selection is a bit smaller.
The same goes for the robes that have to share their category with vests and other lighter armour.
Well, spoilers from now on: The Spiritmaster job is more or less better at nearly everything. It's a White Mage+ if you take White Magic as the second action ability. The job starts with Save WM MP which causes White magic to cost 25% less. The White Mage job starts with Self-Healing (cures Poison, Blind, and Silence after a battle) and spread over all the stats the Spiritmaster is just better (link for details).
For most of the game I even had someone with very high MND and amplifying equipment just use the Blessed Shield (it casts Cura without costing MP or being affected by Silence, and items if used can't break in this game) on the whole party. Used with Healing Lore it cured more that most could damage, and left me with the Spiritmaster and one other ability set of choice for flexibility (and that was on hard difficulty).
Only at the very end would I use Holy One instead of Healing Lore (amplifies healing a bit more but only work with real spells, not spells from items) and cast healing spells like a filthy commoner, and need to use Ethers now and then. ;)
This also meant that by the end my regular healer was a Spiritmaster with White Magic as secondary action ability.
That was regular playing without considering Stillness abuse. Which goes like this: You get everyone two Falcon Knifes (+20 AGI, 88230pg from the Adventurer's Shop) and a combination of other equipment, jobs, and the Thief's Speed X% Up support abilities until all your characters are faster than anything else with the one rule being that the last one needs access to the Spiritmaster's ability set for Stillness.
Then result is that you can attack with everyone, the last one uses Stillness, and then the enemy can't harm you. When it wears off you just do the same again (and again until you are finished with the fight).
The stat difference between characters make very little difference. We are talking +/- 1 or 2 points. A single bun can bridge the gap.
You will pick up Salve-maker in chapter 3. Salve-maker is pretty good at this point. Attack item amp will bump those 1,500 damage items to 2,250 damage. You can force elemental weaknesses on bosses, which is very powerful in conjunction with a spell-fencer. The stat buffs are powerful too. Giving a quick +30% physical damage to your big hitters adds up. You can have him go Black Mage or Red Mage for his subclass.
Refer to the salve maker chart of stuff.
check gamefaqs, I remember finding a few different threads on this and I think someone actually did make a homepass for it.

if not just make sure you connect and update your game every day, you will eventually get one!

BOSS: Dragon Key Stats: 10125 HP, Dragon, weak to Water. Immune to Fire
Strategy: The Dragon has high attack and has moves which do high damage such as Bully, as well as Mow Down which hits all members in the party. Using Default is recommended to build up BP, then attack 4 times. Be prepared and have Phoenix Downs ready in case the Dragon uses critical attacks. If you're using Special moves, use Water upgrades on them, not Fire upgrades. The Dragon has an equally low physical and magical defense, so using Monks, Knights and Black Mages as attackers works well here. If you find yourself taking too much damage, cast Protect using your white mage.
Reward: [](#s "1680 pg, 840 EXP, 84 JP, Thunder Charm")
>How do I determine what jobs are best for each of the characters? Or does each character have a shot at being good at any of the different jobs?
The four character are nearly identical (stats growth) and you can change jobs at any time so if something doesn't work just change it. The only real need is to have a healer once you get the White Mage job (it's one of the first two you get).
The game has tutorials and you can get a longer description of all classes/skills/equipment. The game is very, very newbie friendly in that way. You can change the difficulty in-game (not just at the beginning), as well as the enemy encounter rate. Plus you get hints on the map where you should go (that can be deactivated). >Also, how would I know which job to change to for its abilities?
When you get a new job you get a little description and when you are in the job selection screen you can see the character in the job outfit on the top screen and have two tabs of stats and information on the bottom screen where you can see all the changes and abilities that are available right now (and you can touch some stuff for more detailed information).
the same goes for abilities and equipment so you are never without information and can always change things back if it didn't work out like you thought it would.
I think this is probably the best/easiest game to get if you want to try JRPGs but have never played one before.
For more details on almost anything try gamefaqs http://www.gamefaqs.com/3ds/729328-bravely-default/faqs
I don't know why Agnés is a White Mage/Spritmaster instead of a Spiritmaster/White Mage. Take a look at the Base Stat Changes and other Information table here. It only makes sense if you need to job points for the White Mage job, otherwise it's better to switch them around as the Spiritmaster has better stats for a spell caster (better MP/INT/MND, even AGI). The equipment ranks are not that different and the Spiritmaster's built-in support ability is (in my opinion) more useful (Save WM MP instead of Self-Healing).
Ahh, that's one of the wikis I check too, but I missed these notes--thank you!
I see what happened here. 初心者にお金ケロ was only sent from early morning ~9pm JST, and then the level 1/2HP version was sent from 9pm to 4pm the next day. 初心者へお金ケロ then became its replacement.
Hm, there could be three Pollywogs for both overseas versions after all. I updated my data shortly after Asano's tweet about the bug, so my first NA Pollywog was the "second" one going by the Japanese versions (level 1/2HP). I thought the English level 1/1HP version was exclusive to the EU/PAL region, but maybe it's not. If someone in NA updated before 9pm JST, they probably got the 1HP version, too.
If you mean articles/references on the English Pollywogs, this is my only source (Pollywog convos start midway). I was the first to see and spread the Japanese Pollywog tweet/announcement among my peers (and Gamefaqs); at the time, I couldn't find further information.

These walkthroughs are searchable. Just skim from where you left off in the game. It'll give you a play-by-play all the way to the end. I recommend the one written by "Alex 'vin' Kleinheider / noz3r0".

Click on job guide there. It will help you build a successful team composition to battle your chosen nemesis. Although I have to admit, most nemesis battles requires you to first investigate what it does first and build accordingly. For example if that nemesis likes to cast confuse then you're going to want to have confuse immunity on all characters.
Here is a list of all the jobs: http://www.gamefaqs.com/3ds/729328-bravely-default/faqs/68449?page=3#section583
In game you have the wheel, and I think a few of the jobs you get out of wheel order so don't panic about that. Like the other have said: If there is no blue mark then you probably have not missed anything (except the pirate).
So I have them dont remember where I got the precious thing though, is there a way for me to share legally with you?
Have them all, the 1 the second one and the stickers* Edit
nyaa.si found them also here, dont know if it is legal though
I use it for anime too, it is my main
It looks more like a promotional Image, not a diferent version of the book. You can see that here they use it, but in reality the cover has this desing.
I fixed my joycon drift with this spray:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AF0OFVU/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
You can take a toothpick to lift the rubber flap of the stick and use the nozzle to spray the smallest amount you can under the rubber. You can then just roll the stick around to make sure the spray gets everywhere and then let it fully dry (I think I waited about 30 minutes). It solved my drift and I could repeat if I noticed it was getting worse.
Incredibly easy! It just plugs directly into the normal dock. Here it is on Amazon:
PDP Gaming Custom Light Up Protective Dock Shield: Multicolor - Nintendo Switch https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073X4RF9Q/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_56VVF2NC54J3YSF1ZFYN
I'm not sure if you are US or UK but I've found this link here on amazon uk. I'm based in the UK and can still buy things on the US site so I'm hoping that its the same vice versa if you usually use the US site.
I can't. It's out of stock :(
It is available to pre order
However for some weird reason it has the description of Fire Emblem Fates Special Edition.
