yeah most likely. Just try it out and see, you can just change it back if it doesn't work.
However this is a live development version, isn't it? To avoid bugs, I'd recommend using the latest stable release which is here: https://www.moddb.com/mods/beautiful-doom-6100/downloads/beautiful-doom-632
BD21RC2, the newest. But modded.
If you don't like the newest weapon sprites (particulary the plasmarifle) check out this mod which allows you to chose from a bunch of skins to use.
I also deleted the bloody footprints (I just don't like them so I get a free performance boost) and added this much more realistic flashlight
1) nope, alt fire is the quick bash
2) no idea, it seems kinda random :I
3) yes, light punch them or press E but it requres berzerk pack/demon strength
4) what do you mean with lower quality? Make it less bright?
I highly recommend installing this superior flashlight mod. When you use it, you need to rebind the new flashlight bind in the controlls options. In the options there is a new flashlight menu that let's you change the range and strength of the flashlight.
What makes this flashlight much better is that it's realisticly emits light from the player like a real flashlight would, unlike emiting light from where you point your crosshair. It only works on GZDoom though.
About the mp40, it's in your pistl/smg slot
Thats exactly it, some mods require specific GZDoom features, and some are designed for Zandronum, usually for online support.
For GZDoom visit this site once in awhile and see what the current version is (4.0 right now). Often the readme or website where the mod is hosted will tell you what source port and version is suggested.
I keep a backup folder with some older builds of GZDoom just in case. So if I need an older version I just extract and overwrite the newest, then when I'm done I replace that with the newest.
BTW, don't install two source ports (such as GZDoom & Zandronum) in the same base folder.
Many mods conflict with each other as they are replacing the same assets (weapons, monsters, textures). When you load a mod load order is important, generally whatever comes last supersedes (replaces) what came before it.
Like Orcus216 said, the Bolognese mod adds blood and gore to most other mods without breaking them
I'm using GZDoom 64 bit Windows 7, and I downloaded Brutal Doom v21 form this site--https://www.moddb.com/mods/brutal-doom/downloads
As far as I know the download wasn't corrupted but that could be the issue, I have no idea. How would I go about find that out?
I found this one, I don't know if this was considered "2.0" or something earlier? It was in 2015

Make sure you're running the recent RC of Brutal DOOM and a current stable GZDoom.
To start the games/mods I setup my own shortcuts, some people drag and drop (noobs), other use SDL (a launcher).
Load order is important, so whatever wad/mod you load last supersedes what came before it.
I create a DOOM folder under my C:\games folder and dump everything in there beside DOOM2.wad and DOOMU.wad and GZDoom.
To create a shortcut right-click on GZDoom.exe, then edit the new shortcut by right-clicking and selecting Properties. Edit its Target line, here is an example from what I'm playing now: "C:\games\Brutal FreeDOOM\gzdoom.exe" -iwad DOOM2.wad -file JPCP.wad bd21RC6.pk3 UDV_v2.12b_A_BASE.pk3 UDV_v2.12b_B_VISOR_Alt_2.pk3 UDV_v2.12b_C_GFX_HIRES_Mugshot_BASE.pk3
The C:\games\Brutal FreeDOOM\gzdoom.exe section should be fine on your end, its where your GZDoom.exe lives, easy.
This part: -iwad DOOM2.wad could also be -iwad DOOMU.wad, it depends on the wad/mod and should be specified by the creator in their readme.
This part: -file JPCP.wad is the mapset or wad, depending on the contents it could also be a .pk3 extension.
This part: bd21RC6.pk3 is where Brutal DOOM goes.
The last section is for extra stuff like HD textures, music, and HUD stuff.
As a player you don't really need to worry about the error messages in a console but mind that the version you are using is still WIP and not intended as public test build.
The last 3.0 public test is this one: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1aRFCJeXDpjTxqYUgz_kNaLjkLVS9I6cK
Alternativly you can also play PB 2.03: https://www.moddb.com/addons/project-brutality
It's been a while, but I believe the helmet hud is a different mod.
https://www.moddb.com/addons/doomvisor-hud-for-pa1nki113r-v51
and for how to install multiple mods with PB
https://www.moddb.com/mods/brutal-doom/downloads/brutal-doom-v21-beta
It doesn't look like you are using a different version though. But then again, changing that one setting shouldnt suddenly give you vanilla guns... perhaps you should just set it to server in the main menu and then start the game (check that you not accidently select the purist mode)

This link leads to the FULL FAQ.
EDIT: http://www.iconarchive.com/show/mega-games-pack-26-icons-by-3xhumed/Doom-The-Ultimate-1-icon.html <------- That link will lead to you a website dedicated to custom desktop icons. This way you can have your BrutalDoom/GZDOOM folder have the The Ultimate Doom icon or whatever Doom related icon you want.
There are two popular and modern source ports: GZDoom is best for single player, while Zandronum is best for MP & co-op. Zandronum includes an MP browser & Wadseeker so it will help you connect to others and find wads/mods you might be missing.
I've never played online, but I think it mostly depends on which sourceport you use to play Brutal Doom.
Zandronum is the one that supports multi-player, download and install and then read this wiki page.
I guess that upload service removes the files after a while?!
I uploaded the same file to another host: https://www.filemail.com/d/cngjdcocgkszkry
Hmm it only stays there only for a week. Well anyway enjoy. :)
Download 7zip. It's a free program that can unzip .rar files.
https://www.7-zip.org/download.html
I also recommend downloading ZDL. It's a launcher for Doom that makes it really easy to use mods and works with GZDoom.
How do I transition my save game from 1c ? I want to resave in the 2.0 version. Also getting a log of script errors from the terminal on Linux using gzdoom. Using the V2 pk3's, I get a doubled health count, but the left side is the only text that changes. log: http://slexy.org/view/s21i24xMss. I always use GzDoom, but should Zandronium be used for maximum compatibility?
Guess I'll go back to 1c for now.
I know it's not free, but this is by far the best way to play Doom and it's various ports/mods/wads on Android:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.opentouchgaming.deltatouch&hl=en_US
I've played Brutal plenty on that app and it runs great.
I'm not at all familiar with Freedoom, so I can't help you there. But I just wanted to give you the heads up about Delta in case you didn't know about it.
