Amazing how people get upset over piracy, like it's their right. Go buy the damn thing.
Here's a damn link, honestly it costs fuck all, stop being a tight arse.
Edit: Go ahead and downvote, but fuck me if you want something for free then take what you're given, if not then buy the damn thing.
This is the set I want: https://www.amazon.com/Frank-Herberts-Dune-Chronicles-Volumes/dp/B00PE3VTVW
Struggling to find one and when I have found them it's become clear I'm not the only one bidding very quickly, Australian internet lost me the last bidding war.
Like other commenters have mentioned, this is the most current edition, so it'll be easy to find anywhere that sells new books. I got mine at Barnes and Noble. :) It's such a beautiful cover and I confess that it was definitely a big factor in getting me to finally pick up Dune and read it. Now I'm absolutely obsessed!
There is one thing the other commenters haven't mentioned, though — there are two paperback versions of this cover. There's the "nice" version which is taller and narrower, and it has a beautiful matte finish. And then there's the mass market paperback, which is shorter and fatter. It's not as nice, but it still has a cool silver shine on the "DUNE" logo. The former is 8.2" x 5.4" and has about 700 pages, and the latter is 7.6" x 4.2" with about 900 pages.
For most people, it comes down to personal preference on which one is better, though it seems like most people prefer the "nice" version. But here's one thing you should know: They just released the five Dune sequels in the same cover art style, and they're only available in mass market paperback dimensions. For people who want to own the whole series, they might want the mass market version of the original Dune so it can fit nicely with the other books. Otherwise, you'll have a tall, thin Dune book with all its sequels next to it in a different size.
I personally own the bigger one. It's really nice and the size discrepancy doesn't bother me, but it might be worth knowing what your friend's preferences are on this sort of thing :)
The Best internet place to go for this type of stuff is Abebooks.com Rare Books. Ebay is a notorious front for stolen books and counterfeit signatures in books. A cheap signature would be in one of his worse books i. e. "The White Plague", but those would also be the ones more likely to be faked, as that would greatly increase the worth of an undesirable old book.
Frank wasn't stingy with his autograph. There are stories of him going into bookstores, and signing all the copies of his work on the shelves. Also, he had a particular habit of crossing out the printed name on the title page and signing there. That was something the first authors did when printing presses were in their infancy.
I didn't mean to reprimand you. It's just that sometimes we get complaints from people who actually like those books saying our sub is too negative.
As someone who likes his books (from one series) to have a uniform look, I think it's a shame they didn't do the entire run in that design (yet?). I'd totally buy the whole set if they did.
I think it's TOR, but even on their website you can't really find those editions. It looks like they only did the three "Legends of Dune" books.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001J3U22S/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_UCbfDbZD18T11
Oh I agree with you. Working for the smugglers is the best and smartest move for him to stick it to the harkonnens. But it's like finding out that after writing The Art of War, Sun Tzu ended up running drugs across the border for some cartel. It just seems so beneath his skill-set is all I'm saying.
I finally received my hardcover copy of Dune, praise Shai-hulud! It's beautiful, and well worth its weight in water.

What if Telltale Games does for Dune what they've been doing for Walking Dead and Game of Thrones? Might be the perfect introduction to the Dune universe for a modern audience. And with the text heavy style of game Telltale has been doing, they could really focus on building a world and complex characters befitting Dune.
One Dune game I'd love to see re-appear is the CCG from the late '90s. Some of the artwork is gorgeous. Only a few thousand were ever printed, so they're tough to find and expensive when you do find them.
Overview of the CCG: https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/739664/god-created-dune-ccg-train-faithful-paul-muaddib-a
~$20 on Amazon US. I've been really impressed with the quality of this printing, it's clear they put a lot of thought and care into it. I love paperbacks for their ergonomics and low cost, but for a classic such as Dune, this feels like a really good tradeoff.
I actually think that it is open source don't know if thats whats you are asking. Westwood put all the code online sometime, and you can already play an remake/updated version at openra.net
It's not a big deal to be lazy about getting directions to the bank. Algorithms are genuinely dangerous right now, already, because people feed poorly curated data into an equation that's almost entirely unrelated to what the powerful people pretend it's doing, and then nobody bothers to check whether it's getting good results until a lot of lives are ruined by things ranging from being denied loans to getting accidentally put on the no-fly list to being constantly tailed by police with a grudge because the math says red cars in your zipcode are all criminals.
Buy this and take the full plunge into the Dune Chronicles.
Have you tried walking into one of their stores? If not, did you look at their website? They're selling it for $25 + Free Shipping.
You should do a poll. List all the actors in Hollywood who look the part and then see who comes out on top. Tye Sheridan, Ansel Elgort, Ezra Miller, Timothee Chalamet, Nicholas Hoult... (I just picked 20-30 random actors who fit... I'm not sure if polls can be edited to include more people... Maybe a secondary poll would be needed if there are enough write-in people.)
In fact, I made one here you can use: https://www.strawpoll.me/16100175
Hope it's ok to post an Amazon link for the book this appears in. I just finished reading the prequel novels.
my gf got it for me on Amazon!
As /u/Falstaffe said it's a first book club edition. Here is a listing for apparently the same version asking USD 600.
There are cheaper listings, but this one has decent photos.
Or, if you'd like to add it to a physical collection, it looks like used copies aren't spendy at all.
Thanks for the link; I didn't know this existed!
If I recall correctly, a true first edition Dune has a blue cover, not red. The red binding was done on subsequent printings.
They have many of them for different books. Some are give aways, while others are public domain like Gutenberg and some are illegal. Here's Project Gutenberg https://www.gutenberg.org/wiki/Category:Bookshelf
What are you going to do differently? Because there is some competition:
OpenRA has a pretty good version, you download OpenRA en from there you can download Tiberian Dawn, RA1 and Dune2000 with the click of a mouse. Also the soundtracks.
It supports all resolutions and has working (online) multiplayer and a map editor.
Here's a good look at it from a t-shirt on Legendary's Amazon store!
Edit: Not quite the same as the collar symbol, my bad
I recently ordered CoD online from one of these book places that have a ton of new unused old stock. I have been collecting the regular Ace series paperback and I ordered an Ace, based on the details and cover and paid the regular price but they sent me the Ace turtleback edition for schools and libraries!
So I put them up for comparison.
Here they are. All 6. They cost more, but I got it for the same price as regular, so who knows? Shop around.
You can see the library binding editions on Amazon here.
They are very nice. I got God Emperor for Christmas in turtleback but paid the full whack for it. They look just like the Ace editions, same covers and back covers except for the turtlebook logos, they are pretty cool versions of the same book in a hard shell.
Just thought those into collecting the Ace editions might like to know this and see it.
So what about COD.
COD goes back to Dune basics for 2/3 and spends about 1/3 doing the Dune Messiah thing. :) Like Dune Messiah it takes
Unlike Dune Messiah, Children of Dune
It's sadly out of print, but you can still find it on places like Amazon. I paid about a hundred bucks for a paperback version, and it came in the mail in really good condition for a book from the mid 80s.
There is a pretty good civ 4 mod called Dune Wars if u want an rts game similar to dune 2000.
https://www.moddb.com/mods/dune-wars
I expect to see both a survival mmo and rts game. Petroglyph Games will probably work on a reskinned version of conan unconquered while the main funcom dev team will focus on a conan exiles clone.
> The Dune Encyclopedia paints a different picture, and that is where TheFlyingBastard gets Jehanne Butler.
I'd like to add that Frank Herbert's close friend McNelly wrote the general outline and that Herbert was going to write a prequel to Dune, based on that outline. He even started writing it, but then he died.
Huge waste, I think. This is as close to the real history of the Butlerian Jihad as we're going to get.
If you would like a dune rts, maybe check out openra
Its is an open source project to clone the command and conquer engine. So far they have the first Red Alert, Tiberian Dawn and Dune 2000 implented. It's not AAA for sure, but it runs well.
I am sorry I didn't catch this earlier. There are a few articles and good literature on it and Frank Herbert in general. I would definitely start off with Tim O'Reilly's book about Frank Herbert. William Touponce has one too, but there is no online version available and I like O'Reilly's better.
From the articles I read, hands-down the one I liked the most was Lorenzo DiTommaso's "History and Historical Effect in Frank Herbert's Dune". John L. Grigsby's articles comparing Dune to Foundation are good too. Here's a zip of the few articles that I have on hand. Please cite them properly if you intend to use them.
Oh, and a word of warning. I'm a deleter, so save this information if you want to keep it.
I'm going in full costume with custom printed 3D stillsuit mask, and a nose filter (actual black nose filter plugs you can breath through on Amazon, just velcro some thin black tube to it).
So I should be pretty well covered, heh.
Don't stress it! I managed to track down this link from a file dated in 2013
https://dune-2.en.uptodown.com/android
But I ended up using this version, directly from the Play Store
After installing it, my 6 year old sister saw me playing and asked to try, sparking an interest in RTS games. I then started my computer and got her hooked on the OpenRA version of Dune 2000, as well as Red Alert 2. You did that with that comment dude, you're a bada$s ✌️😎 we finally have played 4 for LAN parties 😁👍
For starters, just buy the first book $10-15. Dune in Amazon
If you like it (which I can think you will) then start doing the sequels. The movie is based on the first book only, so no need to buy the whole series.
Secondly, the first 100 pages throws a lot of worldbuilding and new words at you, don’t be turned off by that, it’s only really in the beginning, and even if you don’t look things up, it all makes sense and context in given.
Thirdly, I have never read a book so long, so quickly. To me it IS the definitive page turner. Yes, some concepts are heavy, but this is a thoroughly enjoyable book in my mind. I didn’t find it tedious, it moves at a wonderful pace.
Finally, it really is considered one of the greatest sci fi books ever for a reason and you’ll only know that through experiencing it. No need to buy everything, no need to get extended lore, just buy the first book and dive in, just like people did in the 60’s when I first came out.
>- Dune, the board game (by GF9)
This is the remake of the OG board game. It is a great game that is very replayable. The issue has always been getting people to play with. Many men have tried.
It's on Amazon right now, Dune and the follow up Children of Dune, as a collector's set.
Frank Herbert's Dune & Children of Dune - The Complete Miniseries Collection https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08GL7BK46/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_4ETM5AP3NCV8H3ZH7VWX
on amazon (https://www.amazon.com/Dune-Chronicles-Book-1/dp/0441013597/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=dune&qid=1609986173&sr=8-2) that edition is listed as 'Dune (Dune Chronicles, Book 1)' and has 704 pages. The reason some editions have so many pages is because they use larger font.
Eek! I'm pretty sure those are in Mexican pesos. $21 USD at Amazon US, $426 MXN ($21 USD) at Amazon MX.
Well first off there is a sewn outline surrounding the knuckles included in the Fremen gloves, the knuckle part looks more round and is if it was made from different material. The material surrounding it, which encloses the palm of the hands, also looks like different fabric than the Oakleys. Then you can see a noticeable rubber-designed rise where the the pin-shaped “O”s are located, while the rest of the finger material is fabric-based. The thumb section is also all one-material while the Oakley has the top of the thumb designed differently. Finally, Oakley does not have a glove in that color. All of the linked Oakley brown gloves are too vibrant for the darker brown tones of the gloves seen in the released set pics, which perfectly matches the color of the stillsuits.
As you can see here, those “O”s arent a trademark thing: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07XT694Y4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_H9fgFb1P6R7SN
which are supposedly meant to make the gloves breathable and less sweaty (wasting less moisture is good for a Fremen)
Found several on YouTube but they are blocked in the USA...
I tried using HideMyAss but I couldn't get them to work...
A lot of folks don't like using Viooz.co because of the ad-ware, but if you use Ad Block Plus with Google Chrome you never see the ad-ware...
Viooz.co has every movie ever made... I've tried the most obscure b-rated crap movies and viooz.co has 'em... hope this helps...
We Fremen have a saying: "God created Arrakis to train the faithful." One cannot go against the word of God.
Here's a non-science fiction recommendation:
Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance.
It goes deep on the questions of how humans and technology fit together. On that theme, it is as deep as Dune. Though it does less on politics and social evolution, what it has to say on those topics is interesting.
Looks like the Ace Publication Dune Paperback
*Gammu itself had to be part of the design. Caladanian marks all over the place. Danian subtleties piled atop the more brutal ancient ways. Something other than population had come out of the Danian Sanctuary where the Tyrant’s grandmother, the Lady Jessica, had lived out her days.
Teg had seen the overt and covert marks when he made his first reconnaissance tour of Gammu.*
-- Heretics of Dune, ch. 21 (Ace, 2019, Ebook ISBN: 9781440619649)
this gold version hardcover looks really good in person.
the pictures dont fully do it justice but the gold lines on the cover shine in the light. also the book is gold edged (like the sides of the pages when the book is closed. the whole thing has this retro future art deco thing that i love
I don't think you can purchase that one anymore.
Tales of Dune has been sold in an updated edition for a few years now that omits the above two stories (and adds five others).
https://www.amazon.com/Tales-Dune-Expanded-Brian-Herbert-ebook/dp/B0B5WNVVY6/
This Australian 2-disc set released last year is your best option.

https://www.amazon.com/Frank-Herberts-Collection-James-McAvoy/dp/B09JK35F7Z/
I don't think they are exclusive to B&N. You can pre-order them through Amazon.
There is a blu-ray for CoD. (US/NA)
> Blood Of The Sardaukar, which I believe is novelised in their recent Sands Of Dune collection of short stories
They're all adaptations. Blood of the Sardaukar was initially published in another collection in 2018.
What do I know; maybe it is?
You should check out "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep". Incidentally also by BOOM Studios. Really really good.
https://www.amazon.com/Androids-Dream-Electric-Sheep-Omnibus/dp/1608867846/
Just to be clear (I'm sure it's not clear to a lot of people):
The 6-book set are the six trade paperbacks.
The 3-book box has mass market paperbacks, so if you want the rest to match that size, you'll have to go for those.
Trade paperback (ISBN 0441013597)
Mass market paperback (ISBN 0441172717)
I have 7-8 copies of the first book and 4 sets of all six. I still don’t have my favorite ones though. A set with the Marc Simonetti covers are a close second.
Maybe the House Atreides comics?
This here is a straight adaptation of the first book. The second part of it anyway.
There's another comic coming in October, but that's a different thing altogether.
(Dune? Facebook? ...what?)
> tiny versions
I think many people are still not aware that there's two different paperback formats.
What you're looking at are mass market paperbacks—as opposed to trade paperbacks. The latter format's considerably larger, with better binding and paper quality.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0441013597
From a textual standpoint, the most recent Ace paperbacks and all editions using the same text (Deluxe hardcover) are the most correct. They clearly proofread all the books since the texts are just about error-free now. Messiah and Children in particular used to have lots of typos.
I guess that's probably because Amazon can only reduce a price so much. It's possible you could get them cheaper if you buy them individually.
The paperbacks are either $18 (trade) or $9.99 (mass market). There's two different paperback sizes.
Tales of Dune is the first short story collection and includes the following:
https://www.amazon.com/Tales-Dune-Expanded-Brian-Herbert-ebook/dp/B073Q84DWQ/
Four more short stories will be collected in Sands of Dune, coming this June:
https://www.amazon.com/Sands-Dune-Brian-Herbert-ebook/dp/B09C4FYJ46/
As for Blood and Water and Fremen Justice... those are nothing more than chapters from House Harkonnen and House Corrino that were released to preview these books. They can't even be purchased anymore in that format since obviously the books have been published by now. The list on dunenovels.com can be misleading in that regard.
Hope that clears it up.
The Fremen are based on Caucasian Muslims, specifically those found in Chechnya and Daghestan (literally, the Caucasus mountains).
If you want a better understanding of what Herbert was aiming for, you can read some of Herbert's source material - Sabres of Paradise (https://www.amazon.com/Sabres-Paradise-Conquest-Vengeance-Caucasus/dp/0993092721)
I got the picture lights on Amazon here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0937C137V
They have a built-in battery that charges with a micro USB. The light bar sticks to the support arm with a magnet, so when you need to charge it you can just grab the bar off the wall.
There are about 4 other manufacturers on Amazon selling the same exact product under a different name, at similar prices.
I use this website https://www.justwatch.com/us/tv-show/frank-herberts-children-of-dune Hoopla app is currently streaming it.
Also, check your local library. I use www.worldcat.org to find books/DVDs/etc nearest to you by zip code.
We are waiting on the funds from the Kickstarter so we can finish coloring it, and get it printed. But you can preorder it, and help support the series continuation here - https://www.patreon.com/user?u=756517&ty=h
You should buy whatever cover you find to be pretty but this is most peoples favorite cover, plus it has a map and a few extra things. I believe most editions of the book have apendixes in the back for wordbuilding, but I'm not sure that you can find any illustrated editions of the book on Amazon.
This seems to be the Dune, Penguin Galaxy Edition. Here's an Amazon link to where I found it:
Dune (Penguin Galaxy) https://www.amazon.com/dp/0143111582/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_QT1CTFNDYY85WTVTNW0V?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
But if you can, go out or online to support your local bookstores!
Can't speak for other people. I listen to audiobooks driving and exercising.
I don't do very much leisure reading anymore because I read stuff and learn at work and for personal plans/investments.
I wouldn't have read Brian Anderson's prequels without audiobooks. I like the story but it isn't worth dedicating time exclusively to it.
I recommend Simple audiobook player to anybody who wants to listen to audiobooks on android.
Otherwise this is removed per Rule 2: Post Quality Content Content must provide unique value to the subreddit, i.e. promote discussion about the books or other Dune media.
Screenshots, quotes, and generic photos of Dune books, actors, or merchandise are typically removed. Articles and videos should be submitted with their original titles.
Also available for free on libgen - all tomes, and in many digital formats. Herbert's water has been returned to the tribe; you shouldn't have to pay anything to read his writings.
Funcom also did Anarchy Online back in the day, which is some hard sci-fi stuff, with a few Dune vibes - never played due to it being a MMOrpg but always liked the setting.
According to the below thread there are about 3 million active users a day so that would be 1/3,000,000 odds or 333.3333333e-9
However, there are about 20 million registered users (most inactive) so to get that user out of the total population is 1/20,000,000 or 50e-9.
Or to put it another way pretty damn low.
https://www.chess.com/forum/view/general/how-many-users-are-there-actually-on-chess-com
Really?
Because I find the plothole here to be that a human can override any nerve in the body. So why didn't Wanna just override hers?
It shouldn't be possible to torture a Bene Gesserit. You could do awful things to the body, but she just won't feel it.
The first line of Wikipedia says, "Anne Inez McCaffrey (1 April 1926 – 21 November 2011) was an American-Irish writer known for the Dragonriders of Pern science fiction series."
Here's a good definition:
Look up the story of the Taiping Rebellion and its leader, Hong Xiuquan. I highly recommend God's Chinese Son by Jonathan Spence. It's probably the most vivid historical example of a holy mission gone horrifyingly wrong. There are actually quite a few parallels between Hong's story and that of Paul's. I wonder if Herbert knew of it.
Frank Herbert lifted a lot of the lore from Sabres of Paradise https://www.amazon.com/Sabres-Paradise-Conquest-Vengeance-Caucasus/dp/0993092721 Which are the Muslim Caucuses not Arabs
The Muqaddimah , his magnum opus and introduction to the Kitab al-Ibar, which not so coincidentally is also the name of the Fremen religious book.
Regarding Nietzsche I am not sure, not familiar enough with his work to give an opinion.

This contains everything right?
Hey! I'm late to the discussion but I just saw this edition from Gollancz and it looks stunning! but I'm confuse, I found this version of the book on Amazon US, but this version doesn't have the sprayed edges like in this IG post (scroll to the third picture in the carrusel) I mean, do all versions come with that sprayed edges or what?
Does anyone know if Frank Herbert's Dune Collection on Blu-Ray is region-locked? Here's a link to the specific Blu-Ray collection I'm talking about. I'm wondering if this will work on Region A Blu-Ray players.
That’s a bummer, but this seems to be 1080p release, not 4k. On the French amazon page for 4k version of Dune, it does say there are variable ratio scenes.
https://www.amazon.fr/Dune-SBK-V-BD4K-BD3D-BD-Blu-Ray/dp/B09G3J6VXQ/?tag=bluraycom05-21
We’ll see once it releases!
The deluxe edition is the entirety of the book Dune. It's a little confusing because the text of Dune is split into three "books": "Book One: Dune", "Book Two: Muad'Dib", and "Book Three: The Prophet". These "books" aren't literally separate books, they're just three parts of a single text. All three are included in every edition of Dune, including the deluxe edition.
If you want to get Dune and some of its sequels, you can get the deluxe edition and then buy the sequels (that is: Dune Messiah, Children of Dune, God Emperor of Dune, Heretics of Dune, and Chapterhouse Dune) in paperback. Unfortunately, there are no editions of the sequels that match the deluxe edition of Dune. The Easton Press set is the only matched hardcover set of all six books, but it's out-of-print, extremely difficult to find, and very expensive.
So it's not Dune-II and not AAA. But open ra is an open source project to clone the command and conquer engine. So far they have the first Red Alert, Tiberian Dawn and Dune 2000 implented.
Yup! From The Making of Dune by Ed Naha (the quote is by Freddie Francis):
>"Jerry did all sorts of tests with filters and nothing ever quite worked. He was sort of pondering that problem at home, sitting in his study. He was gazing at his lawn through a closed window, just staring at a silver birch tree. Inside the room were green curtains. The sun hit the green velvet curtains and reflected back onto the window. The window turned green. Looking through it, Jerry saw that the green affected everything but the highlights. In other words, the shadows were tinted far more than the main objects. Jerry set to work and came up with a primitive version of what we're using today.
>
>"It looked like a large cookie tin with a light at the top and a pane of glass on the front. The light illuminated the glass with a certain tint and the camera shot through it. It colored the shadows and gave the film sort of a pre-fogging effect. I used it in The French Lieutenant's Woman as a sort of contrast control on the film. With Dune, however, we're really furthering the light-flex system. We're using it constantly to subtly alter the reality you're experiencing. Little oddities."
Here's a photo of the LightFlex system. It was apparently also used to create the sandstorm overlay effect.
[edit] Here's a piece on Freddie Francis that mentions the Lightflex as well.
With Deep Fakes and all improvements in CGI and such, I don't think we are that far away from celebs just submitting for scans and then generating movies from scratch.
Heck, with that fake person generator, they could just make realistic fake people to be new stars.
I don't know what friggin order I have them in. It looks like I might have been going for chronological, but if that's the case, I have the prequel's after the originals... I'll re-order them by order written.
The one that is in the home made binder and the clipped papers are short stories that were only available on line that I printed out - The Faces of a Martyr (A Tale of the Butlerian Jihad); Dune: Nighttime Shadows on Open Sand; and Whipping Mek (A Tale of the Butlerian Jihad)

I can't find any information about versions that have redacted any of the original text anywhere online, but I would like to get the original version if possible
Are there "sanitized" versions of the Dune series? I want to pick up the 6-book boxset from Amazon, but this review left me very skeptical.
I couldn't find any information on there being alternate versions of Dune. Is there any truth to this? Where can I get original copies if so?

It totally depends on what edition you have. Even the most recent editions is available in two sizes, one of which has 704 pages, the other 896.
You're right about the chapter though.

Thank you for your kind words!
I'm honored that you like my reference sheets enough to translate them into French! I actually too French in high school and college, travel to France quite a bit, and teach at a French school -- but it's not good enough to write them in French for you!
Have you ever played the French jeu de rôle papier «Crimes»? I have always wanted to play it, but it needs translation into English for my players! I love that era of French history and really want to run a game of it on my channel!
Hope to see you on my channel in the future!!
my question from yesterday got lost in last week, does anyone have this hardcover edition of Dune? Can you tell from the images if it's (poorly) glued like the rest of the Dune hardcovers? I'm thinking of getting it

It's been bugging me so I had to go look. This DVD from Amazon says it's region free.
Jacket
Don’t know about the exact pants pictured, but search “Men’s Thermal Leggings” on Amazon and you’ll find about a thousand identical leggings that look similar to that.
Discovering oil in the Middle East came after oil was an established global business... oil companies were looking for new sources outside of the US and Russia (among other places).
The Prize by Daniel Yergin is a pretty comprehensive history of the business... lots of names, lots of places, lots of details, a lot like the Dune universe. https://www.amazon.com/Prize-Epic-Quest-Money-Power/dp/1439110123
Although your post is better asked in the weekly questions thread, there is no infamous edition to avoid. People have been buying the new paperbacks which is the recent best seller and a good price for the content plus the other 5 books are available as well.
Does anybody know whether this new (Gollancz) hardcover edition of Dune has glued binding?
I want to get a hardcover copy that isn't glued

Around halfway through the book. In the edition that I have, the movie ends specifically on page 391, albeit with the order of a few scenes swapped around.
DUNE Gateway and DUNE saga 1-6 , my mistake its gateway not getaway. In india the saga is double the cost of the gateway.
I watched the movie and instantly fell in love with it so i want to read the books, there are so many editions of them am beginning to get really confused, but basically my question is, is this the first one? and is this edition good?
