If it had an english translation, there would be a publisher with a UK Flag next to it to indicate english. Only a Japanese publisher means there is no translation available.

I think you're referring to Three Sisters Story. It has been several years since I last read it, but I remember a decent amount of it. The story was written almost twenty years ago, and first translated about fifteen years ago. Whether the main character chooses to use a condom, or chooses not to, is an important plot point.

There are surprisingly few visual novels in English with trap heroines. There is about one page's worth of VNs in English with both male and female love interests. That said, in both categories, only a few of the entries have any adult content. Thus I'm really not sure what to suggest. Perhaps there's someone else on this sub-Reddit who can recommend some interesting freeware or indie titles...

If you have an interest in writing, and if you want to create an interesting story about a bisexual main character, go for it.

Just be sure to install the guest additions afterward to get things moving well, and give enough resources to the guest machine that it doesn't chug, but not so many that you cripple your own machine. 2GB should do it.

It's great for VNs, just keep in mind 3D performance is going to be crappy, so the more taxing games are probably not going to be an option.

I also use it as a sandbox for stuff I don't really trust on my main machine. You can also save the machine state and throw away the changes if something goes wrong, or clone the virtual machines completely.

Sono Hanabira ni Kuchizuke o is probably the most popular yuri game. There are like 10 in the series with a bunch of different girls. That's the only one I played, my friend says Escalation ~Kuruai no Fugue~ is good.

Is it any of the characters on that list? I used the tag School Newspaper Club Member and filtered it to only include females. Maybe that will help, the list is pretty short though...

There are genuinely not a lot of those, simply because managing stats wasn't as popular as just having a linear story. Indeed, it's as you say: Visual novels are choosing a path without meaningful input and going through it. However, from my experiences, dating sims are often just like those VNs, except with stat barriers along with choices.

There are notable exceptions to this. This oldie, Love Plus and Tokimeki Memorial . Tokimeki Memorial is pretty much EXACTLY what you want - you have to call girls to set up dates, manage your relationship and time, etc... but it's Japanese only. 残念! Love Plus is also pretty much exactly what you want, so you're in luck there (it even has an English patch). Only problem being, it's on DS and ergo has no lewd. Finally, Ren'Ai club. I haven't played it, but it's pretty well known as a dating sim, so I listed it. Its visuals are quite dated, however.

What kind of problem do you have with disk images? ISO or other formats?

Personally I use Virtual Clone Drive as a "virtual optical drive" and you can mount disk images with a double click once you have it set up properly. And it's free!

The only one that I know of that's in English is xx na Kanojo no Tsukurikata 2 As far as I know not many Dating Sims are translated because of how much you need to translate. If you don't mind Dating Sims with no sexual content then there are a lot to choose from like Amagami
