> Material (M) Casting some spells requires particular objects, specified in parentheses in the component entry. A character can use a component pouch or a spellcasting focus (found in “Equipment”) in place of the components specified for a spell. But if a cost is indicated for a component, a character must have that specific component before he or she can cast the spell.
Having a focus doesn’t help, because the material component for Simulacrum has a stated cost (1,500 gp in powdered rubies)
I used to use it, but I’ve since shifted to using Obsidian, which I prefer by a mile. It has a really in-depth linking and media insertion feature, it’s free, uses markdown for formatting, and saves everything to your hard drive in plaintext so you don’t need an internet connection to use it.

IFTTT. Trigger from reddit: new post from search ( author:Failer10 subreddit:gametales ) with some appropriate action. I have all of mine dump into a dummy account on Tumblr that I then pull into feedly via rss, but that's because I enjoy an overly complicated solution.
I use this note taker app called Obsidian
Totally free, and it's pretty easy to use. Just make pages for everything you want, use [[double brackets]] to link any page to anything else(so npcs to organizations and towns, items to shops, etc). Once you've got things linked together you can look at a web that shows you how everything is connected and you can trace every page back to all of the places it is linked in the sidebar.
Pretty easy UI, and you can drag and drop any audio or image files from your computer directly into it since it's all saved right there
Wrong sub...?
But also, ya. I have an audible subscription and love it. I listen to books during my commute. I recommend The Boys in the Boat, about the 1936 US Olympic 8 man rowing team. Or another really good one it World War Z, which if you haven't read it, the audio book is almost better than the book.
