There's some concept art/gameplay on Heart Machine's tumblr page: http://heartmachinez.tumblr.com/
And also some screenshots at the bottom of their main page which weren't in the game: http://www.heart-machine.com/
But other than that I haven't seen much else
I looked at their jobs page and it seems they are already building something in ~~unity~~ Unreal Engine 4. So something is coming for sure!

I guess it will be 1-2 years at very least till they will show what they are doing so I guess its just sit and wait and not be to anxious about it. But still very excited what they will do next!
Since you already mentioned dark souls (which is so grossly incandescent) I don't feel the need to repeat the praise.
Tho in my mind there are a couple of games you should try
Cave story (http://www.cavestory.org/, also available for a little price in steam as a plus-version but this is basically the same thing) In my mind the best indie game I have ever played. Just because the mechanics are really really good for a platformer and the atmosphere is surprisingly mature.
Axiom verge I'd say that this would go to the category ''metroidvania 2.0''. If you like adventuring and exploring alien worlds this is the thing for you
Any 2d metroid game These you can emulate pretty easily on your computer. All classics which are heavy on the atmosphere and exploration and the perfect fit for your need
I have four save files here. All four are from the start of the game, immediately after waking up in town before doing anything else, and the saves are in the first room of the North region, after the outskirts room. In the North outskirts, there are two gearbit crates--one close to the town entrance over a small pit, and the other toward the North region entrance that requires an invisible path to access. The first save has no bits collected, the second has the southern bit collected, the third has the northern bit collected, and the fourth has both bits collected. Hopefully this will be of some use to you.
Platform in South doesn't seem to have collision:

If we find an Out of Bounds in that North room, I'll see what's behind those pillars. No known way to cross them atm. But what Janeator said sounds right.
they are targeting this summer (which in my experience can easily turn into winter holidays - unforeseen technical difficulties/paper work and all that)
edit: if you subscribe to their mailing list I'm sure you won't miss it http://www.heart-machine.com/
From my experience, steam remote play isn't as good as another program called parsec, does the xact same thing, but seems to be more reliable and it works on games beyond just steam, but I guess it all depends on how good your connection is...around 20mbps download an 15mbps upload seems to work well for me as the host. You can check it here https://www.speedtest.net/es#
This is central map exported to https://www.mapeditor.org/ format, straight from the .lvl file. I almost fully reversed the format. The only missing part here is foreground only sprites such as the drapes in front of the shop doors (I need to do further processing to allow tiled to properly show them).
gotta admit, I just scrolled to the end. But I like your score for the game. Also, your tumble post 404's for me: https://www.tumblr.com/post/148479490489 Edit: If you need any help finding all the secrets, I got you covered.
It's really a matter of taste - I liked that Sundered had a map, but that parts of it were random so when you had to go back through an area there was a bit of variety. You still knew vaguely which direction you were going, but not exactly how to get there.
As I mentioned in my quoted bits, I absolutely loved the controls in Sundered and found Hollow Knight's clunky. It may be people were trying to rely on dodging too much in Sundered, it's really a game where you need to get stuck in. It's hard, but not in the same way that Dark Souls or HLD is where one mistimed dodge can end you. I found the same difference in Jotun, their first game. You couldn't dodge like in HLD, but also unlike HLD you were a giant burly viking and you could take a punch, so sometimes you had to get hit and then hit back.
Jotun certainly threw some people off, there was one reviewer who talked about being stuck on one of the boss battles for longer than it took me to complete the game...
Ever since 14.04 the kernel has xpad driver. I then decided to try to use ubuntu-xboxdrv, because it was much easier to setup than xboxdrv, but was the same thing.
I suppose I will try going the hard route.

I have the "Pro" version I don't think it matters. The free version is the same thing.
