Hey, so I'm pretty new too, but you can download Blender for free here: https://www.blender.org/download/
Keycap Blender files can be found here along with other stuff: https://github.com/drudru/keycap-design/blob/master/README.md
Try to color match a little better, and use a color resource to find what colors go best together. One thing to remember about that shoe is that black and white are also a part of the design, so don't be afraid to use them
Blender is very popular, mostly because its free and there are lots of resources readily available. It takes a bit to learn but is widely thought of as beginner-friendly.
I've seen these resources by Dakota Felder used pretty often, haven't used them myself yet though.
Good luck!
Most Linux logos (as suggested above) are very liberally licensed, just have to check in with the specific distro's policy.
But the world is full of interesting icons. Check out The Noun Project, their licensing is pretty cheap and they have close to a million searchable icons.
Also, I'd like to add that I had to hand design some of the glyphs because some of the Arial Rounded ones aren't rounded enough/at all for my tastes. The lightning bolt icon is courtesy of The Noun Project.
CHERRY PROFILE This is an early-stage idea that i had. I just joined the Tai Hao Mini Classics drop and that kind of inspired me. Note: The RControl and RAlt fonts on Red and Yellow are super huge and I'm pretty sure it's a bug in keyboard-layout-editor. Was thinking of just the ANSI 104 and alternate modifiers as sets but idk Colors >Grey- PBT GDE Red- PBT #RBD Yellow- PBT #YBV Blue- PBT #BFD Legends I just threw some of the default symbols in (I do like the floppy drive on ESC but not the current arrows on Shift and Caps) and I'm using the default legend as of right now. I'm having trouble using fonts in keyboard-layout-editor so if you guys could help me out- I want to use the "Nunito" font on Google: https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Nunito Final Thoughts for 11/7/17 I'll do more work on the legends and maybe make some novelties. I think (from replies on my geekhack post) that I'll have to decide on one color and I'm gonna leave that up to the community.
Nikola Tesla was not the inventor of the electrical battery. Tesla was indeed a great mind, but he is tremendously overrated.
The inventor of the electrical battery was Alessandro Volta. And the first known usage of the word battery to describe a group of electrical components was Benjamin Franklin.
So I suggest using symbol that are more related to Tesla like the symbol for Alternating currents which is a sine graph. Not an invention by Tesla but first theories by Michael Faraday, with yet another person to first produce a machine of the principal by Faraday. Though Tesla is known to have supported the adoption of AC current.
And instead of a lightning symbol I would suggest a symbol inspired by a Tesla coil, a contraption that Tesla did invent. Here is someones symbol for a Tesla Coil, I am sure you can make a great symbol (google for images of the tesla coil)
Well, this is cool anyways.
I looked this up in paletton (http://paletton.com/#uid=c0m1s0Q040kEXMvacTFnNMWMcqlRIdl) and there's a really cool thing I hadn't noticed. The hues seem to increase logarithmically (or fibonacci), which seems very fitting for a sunset. What I mean is that the distance between the dots grows. To the point where the reds are right next to each other (or would be if I could do 5 colors in paletton).
This strikes me as exactly how the sun would probably work in a sunset, I just hadn't really applied it to a color wheel before. Nature is so cool.
Also, when I looked it up the dark colors don't look as invisible to me. Maybe just a slightly darker text color and you're good to go. As said though, not a designer and crap with color, so please use your judgement.
I like this idea and would love to see it in an IC. Especially with a planck/preonic render so I could get a feeling for what those modifiers would look like in 1u.
Lmao don't get harbor freight pls. I know its cheap, but almost every harbor freight tool I've tried breaks at some point. I got this one. Works like a charm.
