i dont think its against old games (thats an overexaggeration imo), its just that fortnite on twitch gets 100.000 viewers and on mixer it gets 10.000. so if an indie game gets 10.000 on twitch, imagine how low its gonna go on mixer.

however, ive been enjoying mixer a lot, at least as a viewer. the community is very positive and not cynical, the terms of service are clear and well-put, and it just feels nice to be a part of. i would say try it, you could stream on both platforms via restream.io
You should absolutely find something, anything other than WMM to make YouTube videos. If you need a free option, BlackMagicDesign offers a free edition of their DaVinci Resolve software. Another one I've heard of (but haven't used) is HitFilm Express.
In either case, finding a video workflow is something that you will need to work on yourself, but you can find lots of YouTube tutorials out there.
Me and my friend are creating a RU community for the mixer >!https://vk.com/mixersquad!< I wanted to know if there is any russians in EU discord and reddit.
You know, several russian streamers are moving from twitch to mixer because of twitch's tos so here we are :)
I'm only doing Twitch right now, I've only got like 56 followers so far but 3-6 viewers average I suppose. My best I think averaged 11 people for a whole a 4 hour stream! but with restream.io there's no real reason not to stream on both, I don't think. If you were a partner maybe you can't stream anywhere else, I don't know, and I'll probably check if I can "multi-stream" as a Twitch affiliate if i ever decide to try Mixer again, just to be safe y'know? It's just that for me changing the stream info and title on Mixer when i know there'll be very little traffic is yet another thing I gotta do before i can start my stream so i cut it out of the routine. I tried Periscope too but I couldn't get it to stop autotweeting about itself so I stopped that too, those vids got a lot of views sometimes but I don't know if any converted to the Twitch channel
To be honest your problem is actually Mixer's fault in a small way: there is not a large German-language market. There is not a large spanish-language market. There is not a large French-language market.
Also I can tell you one of the problems is that Mixer is not as big as twitch.
These statistics are not 100% accurate, but compare Mixer vs. Twitch here:
https://www.similarweb.com/website/mixer.com
https://www.similarweb.com/website/twitch.tv#overview
I think Mixer will grow, to tell you the truth. You don't need to focus too much on streaming now. You need to focus on making a stream with amazing quality. When the German viewers leave Twitch and come to mixer, you will grow too.
Right now, Mixer needs this:
Gaming YouTubers that will stream on Mixer in their free time. New gaming YouTubers. When PUBG was a new game, one year after the game was sold on steam, I saw three streamers on Twitch go from zero viewers to thousands of viewers because they make guides on how to play PUBG better.
If you want my advice, I will give you my advice now:
1) Find a game that you are waiting for and really want to play.
2) Make a new YouTube channel. You will make videos for the new game on this channel.
3) If you are not an amazing player, then just make videos about the story for the game (for example, Destiny II "lore" videos are popular).
4) Make sure that your YouTube followers know that you stream on Mixer.
You will get some viewers, slowly the numbers will grow.
Well I've used restream.io to stream on both Twitch and Mixer simultaneously. In that time I've gotten over 500 views and become an affiliate on Twitch, which means that I've gotten 50 followers and had an average of 3 viewers watching me for some amount of time, and meanwhile I've only gotten a dozen or so views on Mixer. Only like 2 people from Mixer have even ever said hello in the chat. So I got tired of taking time to edit stream info and whatnot for the service every time I streamed and gave up on it because no one ever watches me on it.
is it possible to stream on both platforms without being booted off for a ToS violation? if so, restream.io is kinda useful, i had it setup with over a dozen streaming platforms.
no one watched though.
So I'm currently running into an issue. Maybe you can help me. Background: I recently started streaming to Twitch via slabs OBS and have enjoyed it enough that i wanted to expand into Mixer. I setup restream.io to stream to both Twitch and Mixer, and am using the Chat App as an overlay over the game so i can keep up with both chats. All well and good. Normally, streaming to just twitch, ive been watching the Slabs Live/Recent Events list in a second window in order to thank followers and such. Its worked great. I am understanding though that this Recent events list will not show mixer event of the same type. So my question is this. How can i, either through an overlay or widget that i can have up on the second monitor, keep tabs on a activity feed of all follows/subs/etc for BOTH mixer and twitch siumultaneously. I've been googling the internet for a fix for this for a while with no luck. I've noticed some streamers on mix have a chat line that pops up when someone subscribes. Is that something that is default to Mixer Chat and would therefore appear on my restream.io overlay? Any advice you can offer would be great.
You might want to check out glimesh.tv, it's an upcoming platform that has similar (if not better) FTL technology, plus it's completely open source. It hasn't launched yet but I'm really excited for it.
This may be a game not uploaded to http://player.me/, the website where Mixer gets their video game directory from. I had a similar issue as well with a game I wanted to stream. Through the linked website, you can request to add a game to the Player.me directory.
That is useless. This has been bought up multiple times on their feedback with no action. I brought it up two years ago. Got tired of waiting and made my own app.
I made an app to watch mixer on ATV, since the SPL was only streaming on Mixer and I got tired of casting chrome tabs. It's only ATV, no chromecast.

Here is a codepen link with my fixes. If you change the streamName on line 5, everything updates as expected.
I copied some of the HTML and CSS from your site to make it display properly but the only edits were made to the javascript part.
Have you tried Mouse Without Borders? You can use 1 keyboard and mouse shared through your network to seamlessly control two computers. Love your setup, by the way!

Real easy! First thing you will want to do is upload them to a image host for example https://imgbb.com once it's uploaded copy the URL from the upload site and head over to your mixer channel. Once on your mixer channel scroll down a bit and and click on "Edit" right above your channels description.
Once your in your channels description editor click on the image icon in the top of the editor (the one that looks like mountains and a sun) and copy and paste that URL you got from the image upload site and paste it in the URL field and click the OK button on the bottom right. That should be all.
Hope that helps, if you need further assistance just reply and I'll do my best to assist.
Hope
Since you are starting from scratch there is no reason not to do both and see where you get traction. I've streamed exclusively on both for very long periods of time. Now I use restream.io to do both. I still see more growth on mixer, but I'm not partnered atm so it doesn't matter. Get your stuff out to as many people as possible.
Actually you can stream to both, restream.io is a platform that allows you to broadcast to multiple sites at a time. To answer your specific question I would recommend Mixer since growing your audience on Twitch is extremely difficult. Best of luck on your stream dude!!
If you want to keep the VOD, you can stream to Restream, it will keep your video.
Mixer vs Twitch pros and cons can help in making a final decision
Never got an email myself, and I dont check this reddit or even check my mixer page since I use restream.io, guess no one can watch my stream on mixer today but ill be streaming on youtube and twitch (plus facebook I guess) so Im not that concerned but anyone watching on that platform will be missing out. I get the idea but it is giving competitors a free 24 hour boost.
Streaming to multiple platforms is not something new - restream.io has long had the multistreaming service till castr came into use and became a paid-only service. But yeah, you can multistream with both restream and castr.

P.S. restreaming to Twitch is not allowed if you are an affiliate or a partner. And it doesn't matter which multistreaming service you will decide to use.
Super easy to use. Of course, you gotta make an account on Restream.io then download the chat software. There's even a handy feature to hide the background without needing to chroma key!
This is such a great idea. I noticed lots of streamers migrate to Mixer from Twitch and this is why I suggest reading Mixer vs. Twitch: is there a real choice? article. Good luck
It is possible to livestream to up to 30 platforms simultaneously with 3rd party services such as https://restream.io/ In order to do this properly you will require a PC and capture card when streaming from xbox.
Now you can broadcast FTL streams to Mixer via Restream.io so this is another thing making Mixer more powerful. I like both Mixer and Twitch but the Twitch affiliate program is making it difficult for streamers to grow on other platforms. I think it is time they have a look at this restriction.
I use https://Restream.io to multistream and then coded my own chatbot to merge chats between both channels. So when someone talks on Mixer, inside the Twitch chat people would see: Mixer|Chat: Username: Message, and vice versa with Twitch|Chat: Username: Message. This way both chats are fully envolved and a lurker won't be wondering who the hell I'm talking to when I address the other channel. Would recommend!
I am assuming that a good chunk of your current base followed from a different platform, hence the large growth. Or possibly also use of Restream.io? That is normally what I see that contributes to huge growth in the first few days. But the growth is nothing to scoff at. Transitioning folks from one platform to another is difficult. Congrats on the first couple days of success and welcome to mixer!
I'm positive that your issue may be escalated to the engineering team so they can do proper troubleshooting with you.
In the meantine gather a list of the follow info to send them:
- Computer specs
- Internet speed using speedtest
- Browser you're using and version (test alternatives - they'll ask for it)
- OBS settings
- A traceroute using WinMTR (they'll give you the host to use in the program)
These are some basic things the Support team will ask you to get. So giving them all this in advance you'll save some time.
Keep us posted!
You had to be special, right? haha
Considering I've been doing troubleshooting way too many times since 2015, here are the steps you can take in order to save some time submitting a ticket.
Send them a ticket with the following information:
They will also ask you to run a traceroute (WinMTR) however, I do not know which host you have to use for the effect needed.
Keep me posted Mister!
Stream directly to Mixer and then restream from Mixer. You should see little to no change in latency for YouTube/Twitch using RMTP, but Mixer will still be able to use FTL and get that low latency.
Castr.io allows you to restream directly from Mixer.
Well it appears that it’s in use? Either make a different account or try going to a few place https://www.xbox.com/en-US/live or https://account.microsoft.com/account?lang=en-us and log in with your info and see and see if you had an old account that needs to be removed
If this your account then idk reach to Xbox support
This post felt more of a self promotion than you looking for players. Also this post can be off subject and be considered breaking rule 7.
Looking for people to play with normally is done by better means other than a blanket post.
Feel free to join the discord community to see if anyone wants to join you. Also it might be a good idea to build up relationships with people first then asking them to play.

Something that worked for a few people on an old Top Gear game was the Play Store link if you're using an Android and are curious. Besides that, my sympathies for the app and the phone.
If it's anything like my mixer it should have a separate input for recording from usb, does anything pop up in your audio input tab in windows? if not you may need a driver for the mixer. the other option would be to plug an adapter like this into the main output of your mixer and plug it into the line in of your pc.
I got this mount for my webcam on amazon that comes with a ring light attached. It has great control of lighting. I think it works very well, and gets the camera at a right height. You can checkout how the lighting looks on my channel DonShaun. https://www.amazon.com/Light-Webcam-Mount-Stand-Logitech/dp/B07H3NRJ7H/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?keywords=webcam+camera+mount+with+light&qid=1573049205&sr=8-5

Shop around alot of referral links float around like from big youtubers have links, check out vpn sites for %40-50 off e.g. NordVPN if a good one, I use CyberGhost I just paid for a year a month back which was %40 off and got two free months on top of that. I connect to the same city i'm in but different server different IP so i can keep a good ping boom protected.
I bought this a while ago, and while it's currently unavailable on Amazon, you can search the product name on Google and find alternative sellers. The back of this has a panel light with two brightness settings, and it's powered over USB. Bonus points because it holds a phone on the reverse side.

I purchased this about 2 years ago and it does great for me. I was streaming for a bit but mainly it works well for my videos and my virtual classes.

There is a single one for about $44.
A note about the light socket on these. I use LED lights and the socket is a regular size but you have to push them in just a bit to get them to start in the socket. You can then switch out light bulbs to fit your needs. I am planning on purchasing smart bulbs so I can adjust the light level and change colors.

Was looking into them, just the cost adds up, a friend or two always come for a brew day, then would each one need a mic as well?
If I get a condenser mic and mount it on a arm in the center ish could work? Something like this perhaps
Put this in between the XBOX and the TV. Setup OBS on your PC and you can stream absolutely anything that you would normally see on your TV.
I'm not sure what devices you have in your home but I saw this.

I am going to assume your not using Mixer Create, an official app by Mixer themselves made for IRL streaming ( Their official app is used for just watching streams ):
( Google Play ) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.microsoft.beambroadcast&hl=en_US

Hey there, we've made a Sound Effects Soundboard app for general purpose reaction sounds, including funny sounds and effects.
I don't know if it would help but if it would help you guys the slightest, it is great :)
If you have any feedback I'm more than happy to listen, all the best
The mic I started out with is a Yeti Snowball mic and it worked well. There is a mic bundle with arm and pop filter that I am going to be ordering in the next day or two that I will link so you can see as well. Something to consider with the mic aspect is software to help balance everything to your voice. I use VoiceMeeter for my needs and it works great but can be confusing when its first getting setup.

I use that with my Astro Mixamp with no problems. The isolator the other poster linked should work with that. You'll probably need a 3 pole cable to connect everything, also.
I actually used one of these https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07JLCJF96/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 bad boys for my camera.
No issues with it, should work just fine for game capture!
I don't know if this will affect your decision in any way, but the Internal Elgato HD 60 Pro is on sale right now on Amazon. Cheaper than the external.

All you need to do is download the Mixer Create app on iOS or Android. it is a seperate app from the viewing app. Look for Mixer Create.
iOS - https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/mixer-create/id1237889246?mt=8
Android - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.microsoft.beambroadcast&hl=en_US

Seems the exact thing I was after? Allows 4k60 passthrough and captures in 1080p60. Am I missing something or is this okay? Obviously it's USB 2.0 so it'll have some delay but that's fine.
OK your best bet is to Buy a separate microphone, a mixer and headphones.
Gaming anything is just marketing you will end up paying a premium for something that you really don't need.
For first timers I would recommend a cheap XLR microphone into a cheap mixer. DO NOT GO WITH USB MICS or USB AUDIO INTERFACE.
If you buy a USB device that uses a regular windows generic driver. windows will muddle your audio. This is commonly known by advanced users.
Instead plug in your mic using your mixer to your mic jack on the back of your motherboard.
Here are some affordable but great mic/mixer combo you can even maybe get them on eBay for Hella cheap.

No. There is a way. You need to have a PC though w/ this card.
You'll also need a 4K monitor attached to your PC to see it in 4k in the elgato viewer app.
