A perspective from the mines:
This was the last mention of it on Trello
If you already knew this then sorry, just posting for those who maybe haven't seen that it is a WIP.
Myriad can be added to Bitshares exchange. Here is how developers of the Myriad can do that: https://steemit.com/bitshares/@ash/want-you-coin-traded-on-the-dex-possible-now
I think this would be awesome!
>No, bitcoin is PoW and has no aspects of PoS.
I argue Bitcoin is PoS because of this https://www.cryptocompare.com/mining/#/equipment?f0=BTC
How many people have money to buy this gear just for fun?
>PoW isn't going to be limited in consumption through limiting human greed without some substantial developments in the game theoretica.
I'll give you Myriad and Multi-PoW to counter that.. Have other ideas? Even if you start with the same "money supply" for everyone, based on our current society structures you will always end up with the same inequalities we see today
>If the network holds value, there is a value-based incentive to increase ones own mining throughout which directly consumes more resources.
Not always, what if you live comfortably with what you got and only help secure the nework? Incentive should be there to spread the voting power/wealth of the network among as many participants as possible not accumulating hash power
>The issues aren't the current power consumption levels, even though they're astronomical, the issues will come if/when growth itself can no longer be sustained or when the cost-benefit becomes too warped.
What is growth? I can't even understand what has value in our world..
I can make up shit and create "money" all day long..
everything is a bubble inside another bubble
V0.2 Released https://drive.google.com/file/d/0ByWglAHleAvMV1Q1NWpoR2p4QnM/edit?usp=sharing
Advanced menu for setting if you want to run the CPU miner as well as setting # of CPU threads Initial install will no longer max out CPU (Uses max # threads - 1) AMD fix for qubit (haven't had a chance to test yet, think it works though) Changed Nvidia miners to faster\more stable ones Settings in advanced menu stored in individual .conf files until I figure out a better way to unify them (Read one line at a time and specify a line for a write)
Edit: Also I will be beginning to write the *nix\OSX versions after this release. So expect updates to slow a bit unless any significant issues appear on the windows side.
I emailed Daniel about this a few minuets ago,
We are switching our funding over to KickStarter for Exhumed Race and I want/would like to, include myriad in my campaign. Such as: Rewards to include myriad themed items, having a few things about it and why it makes sense to use it as the in and out of game currency, ect ect.
Preview of the kickstarter project before it goes live is below:

Any info/thoughts/comments/concerns welcome, Thanks
i'm not too keen on the idea either. at best, it'll be akin to a the holding period for an IPO, only we're relying on each anonymous individual's word. at worst, it'll be your run of the mill pump and dump. it will inevitably crash, like a ponzi scheme, or even multi-level marketing.
i honestly think this coin is better than that. you make a fair point and the end-result is a positive one, but there are other means through which we can achieve it.
it'll be a grind, but adding actual value by putting in the actual coding/promoting/marketing work will pay off because we have a great foundation laid out for us, and several good developments in the pipeline.
so, what else can we do to increase publicity? also, have you peeked in the trello board which serves as the myriad roadmap? https://trello.com/b/BCamm97g/myriad-roadmap
> your flash drive could pretty easily die
That's true. So I two flash drives (one is a back-up of the other) and electrum. The cool thing about electrum is the "seed" function. Basically, the "seed" helps you recover your wallet, should you happen to lose it. Check out this electrum FAQ for a better explanation.
The MYR team are pretty receptive, bitcoin is sadly a bit big to get involved at this level, however if you did submit a really good fix that doesn't require a hard fork they would accept it.
As for learning to code, its not too bad. Check out these python tuts. https://buckysroom.org/videos.php?cat=36
I know the MYR guys are always looking for help from python devs for various things.
Yes, we will have to come to some sort of consensus regarding that. I do think we can keep alot of the existing string translations. But for a new site there will surely be new strings to translate. Altough my personal preference would be to start fresh as we would not be locked into current formulations.
Some other things we could do in the meantime is to install an SSL cert to the existing site. Check out Let's encrypt and certbot: https://certbot.eff.org/.
Hi there. I'm the guy who coded this. I'm in the process of debugging the switcher so any feedback and bug reports are appreciated. I keep pushing new versions to the same download link:
