Federal agents are searching multiple Republican state lawmakers' offices at the Tennessee legislative office building Friday morning.
At least five agents from the FBI entered the Cordell Hull building at 8 a.m., fanning out to multiple offices carrying empty boxes with them.
An agent could be heard telling a facilities manager that the FBI was executing search warrants.
An agent stood guard outside the office of Rep. Glen Casada, R-Franklin, the former House speaker who resigned from the position in 2019 following a vote of no-confidence from the House Republican Caucus.
Agents were also posted outside of the office of Rep. Robin Smith, R-Hixson, and Rep. Kent Calfee, R-Kingston.
A spokesperson for the FBI referred comments to the office of Don Cochran, U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Tennessee.
David Boling, spokesman for Cochran, said the could not yet comment on the matter, other than to acknowledge agents' presence at the building.
Doug Kufner, a spokesperson for House Speaker Cameron Sexton, did not respond to a request for comment about FBI activity in the building. A receptionist in Sexton's office Friday said they would speak to the matter later.
Neither Casada nor Smith immediately returned requests for comment.
Calfee said he wasn't aware that agents were in his office.
"I didn't have a clue," Calfee said. "I hadn't heard."

A $65 million economic grant was approved by state leaders to help Oracle Corp. with its move to Nashville.
The State Funding Board unanimously cleared the way for the funds to be released from the FastTrack Economic Development Fund on Tuesday.
The fund is designed to "offset costs companies incur when expanding or locating a business" in Tennessee.
The money can be spent on Oracle's $1.2 billion campus in development along the east bank of the Cumberland River.
The grant is "only used in exceptional cases where the impact of the company on a given community is significant," according to a state economic development statement.
Oracle paid $254 million for 60 acres of land directly across the river from downtown, in East Nashville. The software leader is building a second U.S. headquarters to match its new offices in Austin, after leaving California last year.
The company is fronting Metro Nashville $175 million to build a new pedestrian bridge across the river and other infrastructure to modernize that part of the riverfront. In exchange, the Oracle will get a discount on property taxes until the funds are repaid.
Oracle has promised to create 8,500 high-paid jobs and deliver millions of dollars a year in taxes.

The Metro Nashville Police Department launched a series of public data dashboards on Friday that allow residents to view information on crime, victim and suspect demographics and actions taken by officers. Data is automatically updated nightly, with dashboards covering firearm incidents, traffic stops and vehicle crashes, police use of force and other events involving police reports.
"These first-ever MNPD data dashboards enhance the police departments transparency and present timely information in an easy-to-understand format that can be accessed on a desktop computer, a tablet, or a smart phone on the go, MNPD Chief John Drake said. "The dashboards help better inform the community at large about crime issues and police responses."

Authorities reported Tuesday that Jordan Gorman, who was missing from Cheatham County, was found.
Jordan, 9, went missing from his Joelton home on Sunday. He was found Tuesday afternoon, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation tweeted.
More information will be shared soon, the agency said.
Authorities worked Monday to piece together a timeline of Jordan's disappearance and learn what prompted the boy to leave home.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation issued a statewide AMBER Alert Monday morning as authorities urged Cheatham County residents to search their yards, outbuildings and crawl spaces for the boy.
The search pulled multiple agencies out as they combed the rugged terrain full of rolling hills and steep dropoffs. Jordan went missing while only wearing a t-shirt and was barefoot as temperatures dove into the 30s.

Opryland USA was one of the first amusement parks I visited (roughly a year before its closing). It’s partially the reason I’m a roller coaster enthusiast (nerd) today. I still feel a little sick when I walk inside Opry Mills.
I’m not sure if the park would have survived to present day with the recession, flood, competition from Dollywood, etc., but 1997 certainly wasn’t its time to go.
The theme/water park industry is a challenging one for parks that aren’t already built up and established (Google “Hard Rock Park” in Myrtle Beach). I’m sure the Nashville market could support something...but I won’t hold my breath.
Also, I highly recommend this Opryland history book. It brought all the feels: https://www.amazon.com/dp/1467116335

The Rotier's Restaurant cheeseburger on French bread is nearly as Nashville iconic as hot chicken.
Starting tonight (May 21), Predators fans and anyone else going to a Bridgestone Arena events will be able to get one for the first time in 14 months.
The arena will debut its Rotier's burger stand serving only cheeseburgers, chips, beer and soft drinks for the Predators' first playoffs home game this year.
The move revives, even if in a limited way, one of Nashville's longest-running and best-known restaurants.

"We wanted to reach out and see if theres a way to keep that iconic hamburger place alive," said David Kells, executive VP for entertainment and venues for Bridgestone Arena and the Nashville Predators.
The beloved meat-and-three, fatally wounded by last year's pandemic restrictions, announced earlier this year it was permanently closing its Vanderbilt University-area spot.
Rotier's general manager Jacob Crouse, the third generation member of the Rotier's family to run the restaurant, said he's excited to see what happens with the arena stand.
"I've been down there every day this week," Crouse said, adding that longtime employees Gene "Eddie" Cartwright and Pam Howse will join him in the arena.
"Its going to be a good thing," Crouse said. "Its just one item, so it should be simple. One good burger and we do it right.

Nashville Armory and Franklin Range, two prominent businesses for Middle Tennessee firearm owners, have a new owner. Joey DeGraw, co-owner of the Nashville Underground honky-tonk in downtown Nashville, announced Thursday that he purchased both properties.
The armory and range have such a deep rooted history in Nashville, and I am thrilled to have a part in their next chapter," DeGraw said in a news release. "The opportunity to purchase these Nashville staples was irresistible."
DeGraw co-owns Nashville Underground with his brother, musician Gavin DeGraw. The 55,000 square foot bar in Nashville's Lower Broadway tourist area added a bowling alley in summer 2021, and the news release said the brothers aim to expand their entertainment portfolio in Middle Tennessee.

A Nashville councilmember on Tuesday filed a resolution to end emissions testing in Davidson County.
"I filed a resolution today to end emissions testing in Davidson County," District 14 Council Member Kevin Rhoten posted on Twitter. "The EPA has given Davidson and its surrounding counties the green light to end testing. All counties except Davidson have all decided to end their programs. It's time we do the same."
In August the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation announced that vehicle emissions testing in five counties will end early next year after the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) approved a revision to the states air quality plan.
EPAs approval, which was published in the Federal Register on Aug. 17 and becomes effective on Sept. 16, means vehicle emissions testing will end Jan. 14 in Hamilton, Rutherford, Sumner, Williamson and Wilson counties.
Davidson County chose to continue its testing program, TDEC reported.

I ordered this hands-free mount from Amazon and it's a good one. Thanks to voice recognition I can say "Hey Google, load the TDOT Smartway webserver" and it'll pop up. And with Bluetooth, I can take calls over my car's stereo system instead of using my hands. If you have an older car without Bluetooth, you can add it for $18 with this adapter. I have one in my older Subaru, and it's good to go there. It has a surprisingly good microphone built-in, as well as a quick charger.

When The Tennessean visited the freshly constructed Brooklyn Bowl Nashville in March of 2020, workers were still busy putting the final touches on the music venue, restaurant and bowling alley, which was set to open two days later.
They ended up with plenty of time. Before we left the building that day, their team had decided not to open that weekend, as the emerging coronavirus threat grew by the minute in the U.S.
15 months later, the wait is nearly over. Brooklyn Bowl Nashville will mark its grand opening with two concerts by Old Crow Medicine Show on Friday, June 25 and Saturday, June 26.
Tickets are $49.50 and go on sale at 10 a.m. CT Friday, June 4.
Audiences have had plenty of opportunity to see the venue's stage in action just not in person over the last year. They've hosted several dozen livestreams for a paying audience, including concerts by Jason Isbell, Margo Price and Billy Strings, so the production team has had more than a year's experience making the room look and sound its best.
General Manager Sara Barnett told The Tennessean the team is "very excited" to get back to the work they were gearing up for 15 months ago, and promised there's "lots more to come" in terms of show announcements.
The concert calendar already features 25 previously announced or rescheduled shows, including stops by Madison Beer, Dinosaur Jr. and Lucy Daucus. See the full list and more information at www.brooklynbowl.com/nashville/shows.

Ding ding ding! Yes, it's not most people's idea of a job. I doubt a single one of the people selling it now grew up dreaming of one day selling a homeless newspaper. People that complain about The Contributor usually don't know much about it. We live in a country of vast income inequality. When people complain about this opportunity for homeless people at the bottom of our society to possibly better their circumstances, I always wonder why it offends them so much.
Here's a documentary I made in Nashville about poverty and The Contributor years ago that may shed light on how it works for some.

Get a vacation home on the outskirts of Nashville where you're not right on top of neighbors. This one may be good: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/16375429?location=Nashville%2C%20TN%2C%20United%20States&adults=10&children=0&infants=0&guests=10
Since it's dirt cheap, save the cash on a hired car service to ferry you out and about downtown where you'll have awesome food and get ripshit wasted. Then go back to the vacation home, hang out in the yard being loud and drinking more, safely far enough from neighbors so you're not annoying them.
If you do the same thing but closer into town while sharing a wall or 20 feet away from neighbors who put their little kids to bed at 8pm: 1) it's ridiculously inconsiderate and bad karma, 2) you may have your party interrupted by some uniformed people, 3) you may be the final straw that drives an air-bnb neighbor to finally burn the place down.
Just did a search: there are 94 rentals in Nashville on airbnb.com that advertise to 13 or more guests/night, a blatant violation of Nashville's 12 person maximum.
Codes is in charge of enforcement (currently). What perplexes me is why THEY can't do this search and then send notices to all the homes in violation? I bet along the way they'd discover tons without permits too.
Blows my mind that these simple steps are not being taken.
Another example: https://www.airbnb.com/users/show/23861014. This person has 3 listings in the same neighborhood. Almost every review talks about a bachelor or bachelorette party and guests in excess of 12 staying there.
Raising Cane's is opening another Nashville location, this time on Lower Broadway.
The Baton Rouge fried chicken chain will take over a two-story space at 208 Broadway, according to a permit filed with the Nashville Metro Codes Department. The space is currently occupied by Redneck Riviera Bar & BBQ and the Honky Tonk Party Express Bus office.
Raising Cane's announced its first Nashville location at 36 White Bridge Rd. earlier in August. That location will open in early 2022, according to a spokesperson.
Currently, the only Raising Cane's location in Tennessee is located near the University of Tennessee's campus in Knoxville.
Raising Cane's expansion in Tennessee comes as Huey Magoo's and Whataburger also announced Nashville locations slated to open in the next year or two. Guy Fieri's Chicken Guy! also recently opened in downtown Nashville.

Amazon customers just got even more options for same-day delivery in Nashville and Middle Tennessee. The company said a new "mini-fulfillment center" will allow customers to receive their items in as few as five hours after ordering.
"We see this being really great for people who live within Nashville, that they can more easily and quickly get the things they need and want faster than ever," Amazon spokesperson Robin Handaly said. "They now will have access to four different windows throughout the day to be able to order and get the things that they want."
Amazon's airport facility at 10 Dell Parkway opened in March and stocks three million unique items, from dog food to health and beauty products to books and toys. While many of these items were available for same-day delivery, the new facility allows customers to choose from one of four time periods for delivery. Orders placed by 8 a.m., for example, will arrive by 1 p.m. that same day. An order placed at midnight will arrive by 8 a.m. the next day.
"Sometimes, you run into that situation where you're getting ready for bed at night (and) you've used your last bit of toothpaste," Handaly said. "You can then place an order before midnight and get your toothpaste at your front door by 8 o'clock the next morning."
The service is free to Amazon Prime members for orders totaling $35 or more. Prime orders of less than $35 can still have the faster delivery option for a $2.99 per-order fee, and non-Prime members can access the service for $12.98 per order.

Two students were injured, one critically, in a stabbing at Overton High School on Thursday afternoon, authorities said.
The stabbing was reported at 1 p.m. at the school at 4820 Franklin Pike, the Metro Nashville Police Department reported.
Nashville Fire Department spokesman Joseph Pleasant said crews responded to the school to assist an injured student and transported one student to Monroe Carell Children's Hospital in critical condition.
An additional student was also injured, Pleasant said, and was transported to General Hospital with a minor injury.
A student is in custody in connection to the stabbing, police reported.
The incident occurred inside the school, Metro Nashville Public Schools officials said.
The school has been placed in lockdown, and families of the students involved have been notified, according to district spokesperson Sean Braisted.
The incident follows another incident of a potential threat at Hillsboro High School on Monday.
Around 11:35 a.m. on Monday, Hillsboro High school leaders received an emailed threat from a student. The school was placed in a lockout protocol and the school resource officer was immediately notified, Braisted said in an email Tuesday.

I've owned a few different ones over the years. This is my second WR120 (the first one disappeared during a move). I talked to a meteorologist who recommended this one, too, so I felt good buying it again.
I like it because I can basically turn all the alerts off and only be alerted for the serious things I care about - like a tornado. Another radio I still have won't let you customize the alerts you received, so every 12 minutes it would go off for a flash flood warning. I never left it on because it was so annoying, which defeated the whole purpose. Now I know if the alarm goes off, shit is real right now.

Former Memphis TV news anchor Marius Payton said he feels comfortable coming to Channel 4 despite the station's recent history of controversial moves.
"Have they had bumps in the road? Yes, they have," Payton, 51, told the Tennessean. "But theyre doing good things."
Payton replaces 14-year WMSV anchor Tom Randles, who left in September after he and Channel 4 could not agree to terms on a new contract.
Payton is set to co-anchor Channel 4's evening newscasts with Tracy Kornet and Lauren Lowrey starting Jan. 26, news director Mitch Jacob said.
Payton said he did his homework on WSMV before accepting the job, adding he is aware of recent layoffs as well as the age and gender discrimination lawsuits from former on-air personalities, including longtime anchor Demetria Kalodimos.
"I asked[station leaders]what they were going to do to make things right in the community," Payton said.
"Their answers told me we both were on the right path with this partnership. I feel comfortable they're doing the right things."
Payton comes from a television station in Raleigh, N.C. Before that, he worked from 2015 to 2018 at Fox 13 Memphis, where his reporting helped find a 12-year-old girl who'd been lured away from her parents into sex trafficking.
Payton said he hopes to be at WSMV for at least 10 years and then retire in Nashville.

The Metro Nashville Police Department will create a dedicated team of officers to monitor Broadway for people violating the city's face mask mandate.
Although the department first announced that they'd begin enforcing the order on July 3, they haven't issued any citations, a department spokesperson said.
The department tweeted that they'd begin enforcing the mask mandate on Wednesday after consulting with Mayor John Cooper and the Metro Health Department.
The decision came after a recently released heat map showed a high concentration of active coronavirus cases downtown that showed the virus was spreading among patrons of popular bars and crowded honky-tonks.
Lower Broadway, a tourist attraction, has drawn droves of unmasked people visiting businesses and entertainment venues amid the coronavirus pandemic as the city has moved forward in its phased reopening plan.
Health officials said that a spike in Nashville coronavirus cases could be linked to downtown bars, which prompted Cooper to initially re-close bars for two weeks, which he later extended until at least July 31.
The Metro Health Department has issued 48 civil warrants to businesses whose employees were not complying with the citys mask order.
As of Tuesday, there are at least 5,436 active coronavirus cases in Davidson County. The positivity rate is around 19%, meaning that nearly one in five Nashvillians who receive a coronavirus test are testing positive.

Nobody comes to Nashville in February seeking sunshine! According to weatherspark.com, “The month of February in Nashville experiences essentially constant cloud cover”.

>Explain how people can only get healthier if they have health insurance. I did not realize it was a pre-requisite for buying healthier foods and exercising.
If you are looking at "healthier" as solely staving off Type 2 Diabetes and not having elevated cholesterol levels and blood pressure, than you are right.
Affordable healthcare access allows more people to afford regular check-ups and get vaccines. It allows more people for pre-screening, which can catch issues that society will have to pay for in the long run if left untreated.
>A new study, published Monday in JAMA Internal Medicine, offers another way of looking at the issue. Low-income people in Arkansas and Kentucky, which expanded Medicaid insurance to everyone below a certain income threshold, appear to be healthier than their peers in Texas, which did not expand.

It is a good and accurate tool for comparing the weather in two cities imo.
You will need clothes for 4 seasons. The cold will take adjusting but we have heat and central air in pretty much every building. You won't die. It rarely snows. When it does, stay home. No one can drive in it either because no one is used to it. Stay home when it ices, which is also rare but more common than snow, because literally no one can drive on ice.
Our winters aren't that bad. We maybe have 2 to 3 weeks of below freezing temps spread throughout winter. Otherwise it's in the 40s and 50s and pretty rainy. Spring is temperate and from like the end of March to beginning of may. We are humid and hot from May to early October. I mean sticky swamp ass hot and we are 6 hrs from the closest beach so it is less worthwhile. Our lakes are mostly gross and get kind of boilingly hot during the heat of the summer so they are less than enjoyable to me. I enjoy kayaking down some of the rivers though. You can also go out to the smoky mountains out east for cooler water and some slight reprieve from the heat.
Kentucky is actually a colder, much more snowy state.
Learn about tornado seasons and how to prepare for them.
What? that makes no sense. My house value has only gone up from all the new development going on. The issue is that units within a general area only go on sale 1 at a time, at a high price (at least 2x whatever old maximum sell price was) in an area where there was NO DESIRE to live at that price range.
They are attempting to create a market for it in that general area, but instead of putting the neighborhood on sale, they trickle them out one at a time, to keep supply steady and demand high, which lets them price the house beyond typical for that general area.
In the mean time, the developers have finished units burning up money in interest, so the devs have someone come in and furnish them and then the devs rent them on Airbnb, etc (undoubtedly paying their taxes due to the city and state, as well has having the proper insurance for occupants).
Don't believe me? here you go: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/24356038?location=Nashville%2C%20TN&adults=1&children=0&infants=0
And everyone is wondering why the prices are so high and the demand so high, when there is new construction going on everywhere being completed daily. The market makers are controlling the supply to their advantage and working around the rules to offset their own losses, so they have no motivation to actually increase supply or build more affordable housing.
IT WILL REQUIRE REGULATION OF THE DEVELOPERS BY METRO TO CHANGE THIS.

You might be best off looking for a roommate situation and save a little money. A nice $800-$1,000 rental in those areas is kind of like the chupacabra and, no offense, but your credit score might make it more difficult given how many folks are looking for rentals in that range.
When I was looking for rentals, there'd be a lineup before a showing and they'd have 10 applications by 10 a.m.
In either event, I would strongly suggest browsing and maybe even posting on the East Nashville listserv, which is a great resource.
Good luck to you and I'm sorry our rental market is so crummy.
I agree with /u/hotcandiedsoup that a difficult to access savings account is a better options that a safe deposit box.
Once you get that figured out, you need a budget! YNAB can change your life!

After 25 years as the announcer for the "Grand Ole Opry," Eddie Stubbs just made another big announcement: he's retiring.
Stubbs broke the news Tuesday night on Nashville's famed radio station WSM, where he's made weeknight broadcasts since 1996. His last day with WSM which also broadcasts the Opry is July 29.
"Were grateful for the knowledge, wisdom, and passion he has shared with fans of country music near and far," WSM said on its social media channels.
Stubbs, 58, became the "Opry" announcer in 1995 amazingly, just three months after he moved to Nashville to play fiddle for Kitty Wells and Johnnie Wright.
Along with his unmistakable voice, he's been celebrated for his encyclopedic knowledge of country music, and appeared in Ken Burns' 2019 docuseries covering the genre.
His stint at the "Opry" is the third longest in the radio show's 84-year history. WSM says it will be celebrating his career for the next two weeks, playing archived interviews and past studio visits from country stars.
Others, including fellow WSM DJ Bill Cody, have served as "Opry" announcers along with Stubbs in recent years. The station says it will soon announce plans for the 7 p.m. - midnight shift, while Jeff Hoag will serve as host in the interim.

The Titans and Derrick Henry are not expeccted to reach agreement on a long-term extension by Wednesday's deadline, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The Titans placed the franchise tag on Henry earlier this offseason, ensuring he'd be with the team this season. But they had until Wednesday to find common ground on a multiyear extension, something both sides expressed interest in.
Instead, Henry is set to make $10.27 million this season after signing his franchise tender in May and become a free agent next offseason.
Henry, 26, is coming off his first Pro Bowl season. In 2019 for the Titans, he led the league with 1,540 rushing yards while serving as the engine for the Tennessee offense. With 446 more rushing yards in three playoff games, he played a vital role in the Titans' advancing to the AFC championship game for the first time since the 2002 season.
At the NFL Scouting Combine in late February, Titans general manager Jon Robinson was asked about his philosphy when it comes to handing out second contracts to running backs, who generally are one of the more replaceable marquee positions.
"I think any time, really with any player, when you do a deal, regardless of the position, if the player works out, it looks great," Robinson said. "If it doesnt work out, then I look like an idiot. Thats the way it goes. Thats what I signed up for. Regardless of the position -- you asked about running back -- I think if we get something done with Derrick, I think he has a great career, which we expect him to, and he continues to build on the foundation that hes laid here for us, it would be good for all of us."

Quick Google Search says you're good to go. Might have to get your firewater over in Gatlinburg if you want it by the bottle. Apparently there's a brewery in town (also per the article). I would also check out anything coming from across the state line out of Asheville. They pump out some high quality brews (Highlands comes to mind off the top of my head, but I'll leave that google searching to you).
Also, if you like feasts/southern cooking might I suggest the Apple Barn restaurant up in Sevierville. It hasn't not left me fat and happy upon walking out the door yet...and those apple fritters.
I was placed in my last job by Scout Staffing. I would recommend them to anyone. They fill all sorts of jobs, but primarily technology from the posts I see, and they're always focused on culture which was important to me.
having briefly stalked your profile (and i know who the spa is for), i'd recommend the following nighttime activities:
daytime activities:
um, daytime is harder. i recommend sleeping until just before sunset if you're here a couple days. sunsets are awesome here. get an uber to "love hill" from either the parthenon or that spa place at sunset and you'll be blown away.
I used a groupon at a place in Nippers Corner called iJunkiez. Did good work. $30 screen repair groupon.
Mine was an iPhone 4S, they repaired it about 6 months ago. Screen was shattered badly, bits of glass were coming out of it. Their repair work was reasonably good. The home button was very, very slightly out of flush with the glass, but other than that there was no problem. For $30, I was extremely happy, and went back to them without a groupon later to get the power button repaired.
I work as an SEO on an enterprise level for large companies and also my own business for local presence (all my leads are from organic search (seo)).
A lot of people here seem to have okay advice, but this really boils down to basic local SEO strategies. It'll be easier to appear in the local pack than competing with aggregate sites such as Angie's list, home adviser, etc. who almost always take top spots in normal results.
Have a website (check!)
Register and fill out your company's profile for Google My Business
[hard part] Garner positive reviews on the GMB profile. Bonus: set up other local review sites and drive positive reviews to these (yelp, etc).
Caveat: SEO is a very long-term strategy and is a marketing strategy that varies depending on algorithm updates and user location/search habits. Also, SEO is fairly competitive these days. Best bet is to simply have great word of mouth and referrals.
If you're only here for 1 or 2 months, I highly suggest AirBnB Sublets. My wife and I did one for a month when we moved here to help us learn the area before settling down on a neighborhood. The cost includes all utilities (we got wifi too) and the places are furnished. I think this would suit you well.
It's here and by virtue of the roads being twisty and turny and a lot of dead ends, it's not a good shortcut to anywhere, so the traffic is very minimal, especially if you live off of the main roads like Blackman, Trousdale, and Hogan. It has great access to Harding Pl, Old Hickory, I-65, and to a lesser extent I-24. There is very little crime, it's very dog friendly. Most of the residents are retirees and young professionals. The houses are mostly 1950-1965 and very good construction. I have been nothing but impressed with the area.
Garden Cafe on Jefferson is a great little local place. The bananas foster pancakes were hands down the best pancakes I've ever had; I'm not always a fan of sweet stuff for breakfast but that day, at that time they were like ambrosia.
I have quite a few ideas.
Feel free to ask any questions.
Awesome. I have a book like this about Spring Training that used to go on in Hot Springs, AR. Glad to know this exists. Thanks!

I bought this for my dad who used to tell me stories of climbing the fence at sulphur dell to sneak into games and returning home run or foul balls in exchange for a free ticket. It has lots of photos and references to follow up on!
I think I have this one. It might not be that exact model (not at home to confirm), but it is that same brand.
I'd suggest looking to see if NashSevereWX has a specific recommendation, but I think this is a brand they've mentioned in the past.
Antithesis of local but this vase is hand blown w sapphire & set in wood. Just over a foot tall & can be delivered by Thursday in case u come up short around town here
we just got a guest bed mattress from Amazon. Queen size, memory foam - $250 including tax. It's not quite as good as our super-fancy mattress (that we overpaid for), but it's way better than an air bed!
We have prime, so it came in about 2 days.

You can find some off brand packets that you can use to make your own. It is acceptable. I want to say Kroger or Publix on Nipper's Corner had cans of Skyline.

You can order it from Sam's Club as well.
Very expensively order it from Amazon.

Unfortunately anywhere you're going to find it isn't going to be very cheap.
Just stumbled on this and love the price. Seems weird the people want to come around and chat though.
Polly's on Belmont across from Christ the King is where my family has gone for fifty years or so. Good people.
Surprisingly there are places still showing up on airbnb. Looks like some people are just now realizing they can make a few dollars by tolerating some houseguests for one night.
This one's out toward the airport and $170 for 2 people.
We had a reservation at Magnuson Hotel Nashville North (Goodlettsville) but cancelled it yesterday, due to fear of their bad reviews and lack of confidence they'd actually hold the room for a late arrival. Travel sites are now showing "call property" rather than "no rooms" for that place for tonight.
While we're talking mysterious structures does anyone know why there's a pirate ship in the middle of a lake surrounded by barbed wire out in the Joelton area? We were driving around exploring the backwoods one day and we found it.
It is surrounded by barbed fences covered with security cameras and threatening signs indicating that we would be shot if we got closer.
https://www.groupon.com/biz/nashville/southern-belle-biscuits-spence-lane
I don't how good the biscuits are, but you might give this a try. Edit for clarification - these are what Americans refer to as biscuits, i.e. a usually savory quickbread, similar to a scone. Not biscuits in the British sense.
After 60 years in Music City, Pancake Pantry is expanding with a second location in downtown Nashville. The Nashville breakfast spot is set to open at the Hyatt Centric Hotel in November, meaning long lines and short stacks will soon be walking distance from Lower Broadway.
"We are so excited to bring this Nashville tradition to the heart of the city and offer even greater access to our world-famous scratch-made pancakes for locals and visitors," managing partner Chip Bradley wrote in an Instagram post announcing the new restaurant.
Robert Baldwin founded Pancake Pantry's original location in 1961. Members of the Baldwin family owned the restaurant for 56 years before selling the restaurant to Crosby Keltner, a longtime manager at Red Pony in Franklin, in 2017.
The restaurant moved to a larger location in Hillsboro Village in 1994, and that location will stay open along with the new Hyatt Centric location.
Pancake Pantry's notoriety has grown as Nashville has become both a tourist destination and an expanding urban area over the past decade. The shop is known both for its scratch-made pancakes and its perpetually long line of local residents and out-of-town visitors.

First, realize that actual cleverness is often inversely proportional to self-perceived cleverness. Thought is rarely original, so the less impressed we are with ourselves the more meaningful we have the potential to truly be.
Secondly, I was actually speaking of two or more plane curves having two separate parts or branches, formed when two cones that point toward one another are intersected by a plane that is parallel to the axes of the cones.
I can see how one might mistakenly think I was referring to multiple incidents of obvious or intentional exaggeration, but that would be incorrect from both a linguistic and pedantic perspective.
Seriously though, how often do I get to end words in -ae without straining awkwardly for mythical Greek undertones and false gravitas? Opportunities must be seized.
This is a great answer.
To add to this:
A decent resource for getting information about new careers is from the Bereau of Labor Statistics
You can go there and explore lots of career paths, how to get there, what they do day to day, etc.
Specifically in the IT space there are breakdowns of many of the different paths - from DBA's to Application Developers to Front End Developers to Data center Fulfillment and so on.
Leveraging recruiters is a really good way to get started in a new industry. They usually are quite knowledgeable about your area and the companies that comprise their industry. I have found headhunters and recruiters as invaluable to have discussions with fairly regularly (once or twice a year or so) to get an understanding of how the industry in your area is evolving and what skills and jobs are "hot".
Additionally they get paid when you get hired and are already networked with insiders in a company, so they are usually a good resource to have on your side.
The last thing I'll say is that one easy way to break in to the IT industry in particular is to get recognized certifications. A good example of this is the AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate certificate. AWS is very hot in the IT industry right now and their certifications are recognized by most companies as legitimate and applicable to a very wide range of careers from operations to development.
Have you messaged East CAN? I'm sure they would put out a "Missing Cat" Facebook blast for you. Also, I would post to the East Nashville list serv. https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/east-nashville
Also, good luck finding the owners. We lost our cat 2 weeks ago and its been very hard. I really hope someone was kind enough to open their home to her not knowing she was someone's pet.
A Metro Nashville Police Department officer indicted on rape and sexual battery charges turned himself in to law enforcement Thursday.
Officer Jeremy Arrington, 26, who has been with the department for two years, was indicted Thursday by a Davidson County grand jury on 12 charges related to the reported rape of a 25-year-old woman who visited him at his apartment on April 6 while he was off duty.
The woman reported the alleged assault in May. The department's sex crimes unit began investigating, as did the Office of Professional Accountability, a department news release said. The OPA investigation remains open.
During the investigation, Arrington was placed on desk duty and taken off the midnight shift at the Central Precinct.
Arrington is being held on a $25,000 bond.
This is a developing story and will be updated.

Would still save you $5/mo over paying separately if you fall into that category. Unfortunately we do not.
I'm surprised you haven't had better luck with Airbnb, tourism is light right now and there are tons of Airbnb rooms/apartments that are just sitting empty.
But if you can, I'd join the Nextdoor group from the area that your new place is in and ask if anyone has a short term sublet available.
Good luck!!
The largest sports group on meetup.com is Nashville soccer, check there. Also I would look at Nashville Sports League or Mid State Sports Leagues. Not during lunch per say, but a start
I can't remember a new years in the last like 20 years when we had any snow. Your best bet would be in the mountains 3-4 hrs east in Gatlinburg but I can't guarantee you'd see any snow out there at the end of December. We aren't in the mountains here in Nashville and we usually have pretty mild winters, at least until the end of January/early February. You would need to go up to Ohio and into the northeast for better luck in regards to snow.
Here's a good website with a summary of weather data. If you scroll down to the Snowfall section, you can see that the likelihood of you seeing snow here in general at all year is significantly low. We usually have one good snow that last for 1-2 days on the ground in February/March, then it's spring again and hot.
If you guys just want to hike around in the cold, check out Radnor Lake and Percy Warner Park.
It's going to be swampy even if the temp isn't listed as high. Heat index is where the nasty comes in. It's humid as fuck and will be super crowded. But welcome and have fun.
Accuweather is predicting a feels like temp of 102 on the 4th. https://www.accuweather.com/en/us/nashville-tn/37214/daily-weather-forecast/16176_pc?day=9
Don't be too spooked about rain in the forecast. It's that time of year where it usually rains at least once a day in the afternoon.
Agree here. I've used simple for a few years. Great mobile experience, photo check deposits and a minimum amount of fees.
It's invitation only so if you need one let me know.
If you need a place to stay for the short-term, I have an air bnb listing here:
https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/3458371
It's cheap because I need to get some references down. I'm happy to show you around, what-not.
I'll be there, already got my tickets this morning. Was at the one in Chicago last year on 4/20 it was pretty awesome. Maybe a little parking lot meetup before hand.
Here is the Link
Edit: I hope they announce the release of the entire Alpine Valley run on Bluray or something.
OT: I had an extremely difficult time reading the article due to all the pop up ads. Here's an extension that will work with your ad blocker to block the "whitelist us" message some of you may be getting. https://www.ghostery.com/try-us/download-browser-extension/
Also try posting to the the NextDoor app/site - https://nextdoor.com/city/nashville--tn/ You can post to your neighborhood and include surrounding neighborhoods. I see a lot of rooms/roommates and apartments for lease posted there. Plus everyone is there with their real names and legit connections.
If, for whatever reason, these other suggestions don't pan out (though I can't imagine how they wouldn't), you could also try a pet store. They sell them for dogs. I think they are probably more expensive.
Also, I might recommend this. Especially if you want to be able to store it easily. https://www.amazon.com/Jasonwell-Foldable-Collapsible-39-5inch-D-11-8inch-H/dp/B01MU0JMNG/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=dog+pool&qid=1623503687&sr=8-5
THere are more sizes than that, so you can get one that holds quite a bit more water.
I like these and I think you can get them mail order. oh the recipe? On the box, salt and butter to taste. I add shredded cheddar cheese and more butter when I serve a bowl.
I replied to another person above -
this is the one I bought: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00176T9OY
I've owned a few different ones over the years. This is my second WR120 (the first one disappeared during a move). I talked to a meteorologist who recommended this one, too, so I felt good buying it again.
I like it because I can basically turn all the alerts off and only be alerted for the serious things I care about - like a tornado. Another radio I still have won't let you customize the alerts you received, so every 12 minutes it would go off for a flash flood warning. I never left it on because it was so annoying, which defeated the whole purpose. Now I know if the alarm goes off, shit is real right now.
Look for this version at walmart and barnes and noble and maybe mckay.
Here it is on amazon for sale. Just overnight it.
What neighborhood/part of town are you in?
I had a solicitor come by my place not too long ago trying to sell AT&T. I'm fairly certain she was legit as she didn't make any suspicious comments. I don't recall her wearing anything AT&T branded, however.
If you don't have any sort of security system, I can't recommend these Yi Home Cameras ($30 on Amazon) enough. Easy to set-up and controllable with a free app. They'll even alert you when they pick-up movement. Consider picking one (or more) up. You'll also need a microSD card to store video.
You have to dust for them. Its a pita but it works best. Something like this https://www.amazon.com/Delta-Dust-Multi-Control-Insecticide/dp/B002Y6B4A8/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=brown+recluse+dust&qid=1595656909&sr=8-2
For foreign languages, there is the Tennessee Foreign Language Institute:
For finance... If you want to learn the mathematics of finance, there's no real substitute for an actual finance class. If you want to learn investing, read books by/about Warren Buffett (especially "The Warren Buffet Way"), "The Intelligent Investor", "A Random Walk Down Wall Street", "The Little Book of Common Sense Investing".
If you go that track, taking a class on economics would be more beneficial than taking a finance class. You'll learn things like why fiscal stimulus rather than monetary policy is the best way of stimulating an economy against the zero bound, why interest rates (and growth) are likely to remain low for years, why government spending can "crowd out" business investment, except when the economy is against the zero bound, and a whole host of other things that will reward you.
I took marketing at NT, and subsequently at Vandy. You get what you pay for... You may find "marketing management" to be a more useful class.
I used to do website design. Just buy a book on your preferred languages, and Just Do It. I don't think a teacher would add much here.
Go to a book store and buy a copy of "What Color is Your Parachute?" and "How To Win Friends and Influence People."
Once that's done, get involved in your community. Taper back a shift (you already said more time doesn't mean more money always) and volunteer somewhere. Why? Because you need to build a human network. Next schedule some informational interviews of individuals who hold jobs you'd like. Ask them how they got there etc.
Stick with it man! Hope everything works out!
"the question of why this procedure requires such legal maneuvers is a perplexing one, since ectopic pregnancies will not lead to a birth."
Literally because some politicians have said 'maybe Jesus will intervene and save the baby'. If you haven't read Fantasyland yet, do it now. https://www.amazon.com/Was-Cat-Hat-Black-Literature/dp/019063507X
> Was the Cat in the Hat Black? - The Hidden Racism of Children's Literature
> In this carefully constructed analysis, Nel brilliantly strips away the mask of innocence from Seuss's Cat in the Hat, layer by layer, to reveal the Cat's complex and sordid racial history. Placing this famous feline alongside other time-honored classic characters from American children's literature, Nel removes 'Whiteness's invisibility cloak.'
If that photo/map posted by MNPD is correct he was only just barely outside the park. He was well away from his car and well off trail, but the park boundary extends pretty far west. Still crazy but I guess once you get ensnared in all those hollows it can be pretty confusing
Maybe get one of these doodads? That way it'll help with balance and you've carrying your chair and a few small things with you if you need to sit for a minute.
If this is any indicator? No.
I also found this shop that specializes in combat armor. Again, prices are high.
