So, as far as the pens being ugly, you can get the Japanese version on Amazon without the ridiculous early-2000s tribal tattoo design.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00F92248K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_UNiLAbZ0PRRF8
And for the stylus, there is a Japanese multi-pen frixion with a stylus tip, but it's FORTY DOLLARS.........
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IPH2UHQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_oPiLAb46J5NV2
Maybe you could find a stylus refill that fits in the regular $7 frixion multi-pen?
You might look at the Pilot Juice Gel Pen. It comes in several tip sizes, down to a tiny 0.38 and has a sturdy spring-loaded clip. Also has a hole in the clip that you can thread a chain or clip through. https://www.amazon.com/Pilot-Retractable-Premium-Roller-0-38mm/dp/B00IXCPYAS/ref=mp_s_a_1_8?keywords=pilot+juice+pens+0.38&qid=1564291113&s=gateway&sprefix=pilot+joice&sr=8-8
Also, the Zebra Sarasa Push Clip has a really robust big clip that will go on clipboards even and comes in a 0.4mm size tip.
https://www.jetpens.com/Zebra-Sarasa-Push-Clip-Gel-Pen-0.4-mm-Black/pd/797
I’m not sure any pen will be great on labels except maybe Sharpies.
This is a copy of a Waterman ballpoint pen, specifically the Waterman Expert II Prussian Green Ballpoint Pen. The band and the clip, and the finish shows that it is a copy and not an original Waterman. However the pen looks quite good and is quite striking to look at.
https://www.amazon.com/Waterman-Expert-Prussian-Green-Ballpoint/dp/B000NK0CPA
The refill seems like a normal Parker style refill, so you have a lot of choices for a refill on your pen.
Wow, this is such a perfect fit for OPs requests:

> The ink had to dry within five seconds and be guaranteed not to smear or blot. Printed on paper, the ink had to withstand being submerged underwater for 48 hours and two doses of chemical bleach.
> the pen’s unusually slight size — 5 and 1/8 inches long
Here's the amazon link for the fine point, for the lazy ones: https://www.amazon.com/Skilcraft-Government-Retractable-Point-7520-00-935-7135/dp/B0055KSNYK
OP thought they were getting this: rOtring Rapid PRO Retractable Ballpoint Technical Drawing Pen, Medium Point, Matte Black, Blue Ink (1904292) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0055ZZQFY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_9Cs8Ab1HWKF0H
But ordered the pencil version. They are pretty cool. My pen is on the way and I’m super excited for it.
It's called the G2 limited. Amazon here. It is actually metal! it's got a nice weight, and it's just slightly larger than a normal G2
If you want a little nicer pen that writes better than those, IMO, the Pentel Energel Alloy - $8.30 is a good purchase. I find the ink fully saturated (the black is really black not dark grey) dries quickly, and writes smoother than the Pilot G2. Refills 10 for $8.
Pilot G2 Limited is metal. As well, that's a popular refill shape, so many pen bodies will hold it. Jetpens compatibility search is useful.
https://www.jetpens.com/Pilot-G2-Gel-Pen-Refill-0.7-mm-Black-Pack-of-2/pd/7461/compatible
Amazon!! Pentel EnerGel RTX Retractable Liquid Gel Ink Pen, (0.7mm) Medium, Assorted Ink, 20 Pack (BL77BP20M), Assorted https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08P2DBN8J/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_B0Y9F6Y01KR9F3RC5VH5
Honestly as a civil engineer he may just appreciate a Fisher Space Pen. Get him one with a clip. $20 on Amazon right now. He'll appreciate the versatility and the history.
Tru Red appears to be Staples store brand gels. I might suggest Pentel Energel. Which this reviewer said he preferred they're just more expensive.
Use pliers like this preferably...if not...wrap the hell out of the jaws and the pen both with rubberbands or electrical tape...be careful not to scratch it. If it won't budge heat it on your stove a bit (yes it's fine) until it's hot to the touch and try again. Bend clip back into place. Clean the threads and apply loctite to keep 'em in place once screwed back together tightly. Let dry for a full day for thread locker to cure.
I am. I have a few of the regular ones and a couple of the all weather ones (looks like they’re sold out on the website but apparently available on Amazon). They’re a solid “okay” little pen that I keep stashed away in strategic locations (car, jacket, wife’s purse, and my kids LOVE them). I liked the all-weather version better than standard, it had a finer line which I prefer. Supposedly they have Fisher Space Pen “technology” in them but I have not tested them in extremes. They feel relatively cheap but then again they’re not exactly the kind of pen with which you’re going to write the next great American novel...but for scribbling down a quick address or something they’re top notch.
All in all they’re a fantastic, reliable, backup pen for when you don’t have another/run out of ink, etc.
Well, first read this story for a summary of the controversy surrounding the Visionnaire.
Then buy a Pilot Metropolitan for $15 (they're available on Amazon and most pen shops so easy to find), and spend the $35 you saved on ink, notebooks, or even another pen or two. (There are lots of under-$50 starter FPs from major manufacturers; poke around a pen dealer site like gouletpens.com or jetpens.com and you should find a lot of possibilities. And you can ask in /r/fountainpens if you want more info on something.)
I think it's some masonic thing, but I'm not familiar with it beyond knowing to search "mirth is king".
Kind of looks like a Staedtler Pigment Fineliner. They may have turned the pen around to hide the logo or took it off somehow.
It should take Montblanc rollerball or fineliner refills.
If you specifically don't want to use the Montblanc branded ones, then you can look Monteverde, which I'm not recommending either way. I'd say try both and see what you like. The Monteverde refills are about 1/4 the price of the official Monteblanc.
Looks like a MUJI Centre Gravity Mechanical Pencil or on Amazon
Looks like a Muji fountain pen. If that is the case standard international ink cartridges will work. Probably not at most office supply stores but you can get them from Amazon or Anderson Pens or Goulet Pens. Good luck
On mobile so no formatting but try these
Fountain Pen Ink Refill Cartridges International Standard Size (BIG VALUE PACK OF 24) ZenZoi Cartridge Set 6 Color Variety Blue Black Red Green Pink Purple Generic Disposable 100% Quality Guarantee https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GYYY7UE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_8XHoybG4F1G3J
CamelCamelCamel indicates this is the best price they've ever been at too (at least this particular listing):
https://camelcamelcamel.com/rOtring-Retractable-Ballpoint-Medium-Point/product/B077GQDPYM
For those that want the Amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/ROTRING-800-Ballpoint-Pen-Black/dp/B077GQDPYM/
I use the Pilot V7 RT refills in my Swift. They fit without any modification. It dries quickly enough for me, even on receipt paper. It doesn't smear when highlighted over or even when the paper gets wet. I buy mine on Amazon here. Some prefer the finer tip of the V5, but I don't think it's as smooth.
Dr Grip Center of Gravity. I don’t see the orange on amazon but here’s a link to the pen in a different color:
Pilot Dr. Grip Center of Gravity Retractable Ball Point Pen, Medium Point, Navy Grip, Black Ink, Single Pen (36181) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0006SW9EG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_1wf5CbJGQKEB5
Dude you can get replacement cartridges on Amazon for like 5 dollars. Not sure if it comes in green, but it certainly comes in black and blue. Here's a link: https://www.amazon.com/Pilot-FriXion-Erasable-Mistakes-Americas/dp/B009QYH51S/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?keywords=frixion%2Bcartridges%2Bpen&qid=1561612721&s=instant-video&sr=8-2&th=1&psc=1
I just got the Rotring Pro ballpoint for under $14USD on Amazon and I’ve been pretty impressed with it. I love the texture of the knurled grip. I can only imagine the 600 would be better, but the Pro May be a good test drive first.
If you like weighty well-made pens, have a look at the Retro 51 Tornado line. They taper down, but are still thicker than a Jotter. I love mine and I was able to trim a Jetstream insert into it. They run around $20-50USD depending on design.
+1 for Zebra Sarasas, specifically the Dry / RDI line. I would recommend the X20s as they are the best balance between quality and price.
How about a Parker Sonnet?
PARKER Sonnet Ballpoint Pen, Black Lacquer with Gold Trim, Medium Point Black Ink https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015N3QTIK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_6QNQT7DCQM7GK0YC6583
Old-school Papermate Profile. Papermate makes a profile today but it's a regular plastic disposable. They stopped making the refills about the same time, but other companies make equivalent ones.
Uni-ball Signo Dx 0.38 Um-151 Gel Ink Pen
The Best. Pens. Ever.
Super fine point and all-around amazing to use. Little to no smearing, usable for front and back page writing (with some slight bleeding).
Costs $13.00 on Amazon. Comes in a pack of 10, they'll last you each for quite awhile.
did you try uniball pin drawing pen? i find them rather constant until the end, there are different sizes to try out (amazon link, just to show the pen and sizes - https://www.amazon.com/UNI-BALL-DRAWING-FINELINER-ULTRA-MARKER/dp/B00HJVULOS )
but, if you are really just looking for isograph/rapidograph, i would say 0,1 just like your pen
You won't find SS the barrel by itself, but a new all-SS Jotter isn't all that expensive, and you can find older ones on eBay in a wide range of prices.
Less than $12 on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/PARKER-Jotter-Ballpoint-Stainless-Chrome/dp/B0017D5WXY/
I usually use the Jetstream refills in my Jotters but lately I’ve been enjoying the Itoya Aquaroller gel (Amazon Link). Just make sure if you get them you get the gel version. The ballpoint version is not nearly as good.
Or "pill box pen". This is an example. Note that some will write. Some will not.
Actually, I think I found exactly what I need, unless you see anything wrong with it. For future reference:

I like Monteverde Gel in my (way too many) TT shorts.
Blue/Black is my favorite color there. I'll note these don't work great for signing receipts on glass counters, I do a Schmidt P950 pressurized refill for my pocket pen due to that.
Thanks for this. I'm using a Pentel Style pretty regularly now, which seems quite business-y -- sleek design and a silent twist mechanism. It's a bit more expensive though:
https://www.amazon.com/Pentel-EnerGel-Style-Medium-Barrel/dp/B0776M8VY1
I really like the Schneider Slider 755 XB. It's bolder than the 1.0 Jetstream but also quite smooth.
It does look pretty Parker Jotter-ish, but I'm not sure about the ring that the clip attaches to. On a jotter it's pretty thick. This has a thin flat ring. There have been a number of pens with that mid-century look in the decades jotter has been out. If not a jotter then one of those.
Can I suggest one of the several rollerballs that use fountain pen inks and cartridges, plus a bottle of ink? The J. Herbin refillable rollerball runs about US$11, uses standard short international ink cartridges, and there's even a little piston converter available that fits it for another US$6.00.
https://www.amazon.com/J-Herbin-Refillable-Rollerball-Pen/dp/B00A6VZYKE
As for purple ink:
That looks like a Cross ballpoint refill pulled out of its cap. The length is right for that as well:
https://www.amazon.com/Cross-8511-2-Refills-Ballpoint-Medium/dp/B00006IEC8/
Just pull the blue plastic piece off and you should be good to go. You can probably find these in an office supply store if there's one near you.
If it's like prior models (maybe just Glider/Slider...been a while since I took apart a bolt) I think the bolt carrier was reversible. Flip it and see if the same thing happens.
Barring that I'd sand the inside but that'd be a laborious process.
Also...plastic electrician pliers like these are great for not scratching metal.
found them on amazon for $7 guess that will have to do!
Pilot G2 refills are a standard form factor and will fit in many pen bodies. In fact buying just the refills is cheaper. If you're used to a grip you could get a knurled model. This small company has a titanium model. Many options.
It’s a fisher space bullet pen clip. The pens are about equal diameter so I pulled it off the fisher and snapped it on and it matches perfectly. It made me love the squire so much more. It’s perfect for a pocket with the clip.
Fisher Space Pen bcl Matte Black Clip for 400 Series Bullet Pens https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0014M0AO4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_g-Y.FbM6EQM4Y?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
no the poster but the Ohto flash dry fits right in. It is available on jet pens and amazon.

This is a delightfully silly question. I work in a hospital, and carry a variety of pens. The only one that I have been complimented on is my Waterman Hemisphere in steel/chrome. Very classy. Steeply discounted on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Waterman-H%C3%A9misph%C3%A8re-Ballpoint-Stainless-Cartridge/dp/B004NSCALM What you can't see in the pics is how well the chrome pops from the brushed steel.
The Pilot Metropolitan Rollerball Gel pen uses a G2 refill. They're $10-13 depending on where you look. I have a Rotring Rapid Pro and really love it. I'm generally not a ballpoint fan, but this one is awesome. It has a nice weight to it, feels really sturdy, and has a smooth nock mechanism. It's $23 on Amazon right now. It also takes some gel refills if you prefer that.
depends on your budget, but tactile turn and Karas customs make some very nice machined pens that will serve him well, also I bought a really not too bad generic brass pen on amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0641079605/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It takes the fisher space pen refill also. +1 on fisher in general.
Retro 51 Tornado. Twist at top to deploy the cartridge. Takes Schmidt P8126 or P8127 as well as all standard Parker-style refills. Can be found for just around $20 many places, including Amazon. Comes in black and silver (and many other colors).
https://www.amazon.com/Retro-Tornado-Rollerball-Stainless-VRR-1315/dp/B0002HT6UQ
Outside your budget, but a bit nicer metal (titanium) as well: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07PY2M8SP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
For my small writing needs I use the Uni Jetstream Parker style refill (Amazon link) or Ohto Flash Dry (JetPens link)
I just wish they’d sell either of them in blue!!
Have you tried the Uni Kurutoga mechanical penicl? Supposed to keep the edge pretty sharp as it rotates the tip slightly when pressure is applied. $8 on Amazon.
Ooooh la la, 8 pack for $20 on Amazon!

https://www.amazon.com/Pokka-Pens-Compact-lightweight-affordable/dp/B07JN281ZZ?th=1
Got it on Amazon after ordering one with dimensions too small. The depth has to be 7 inches long, so the 6.5 inch ones wouldn't be long enough to hold pens.
I bough the medium gel refill and really like it.
I also highly recommend the Schmidt Easyflo 9000 refill. It's a ballpoint refill as smooth as gel refill.
You don't have to, you do t even have to get one from parker. It's the same refill a lot of manufacturers use, so there are tons of options to choose from. This is the one I personally use
To add to that long list. Kaco G2 is a nice gel, and probably the cheapest option. Easyflow 9000 is a hybrid ballpoint.
Agree. You might want to try hybrid ink like found in theUni-Jetstream
Just some cheap clear housings for gels pens I got on amazon. G2 types gels and international rollerballs are just about the same size and can usually be mix and matched with no issues. Some of them needed some cardboard in the back to fill the space, others just press fit into the tip.
Left: Top and middle are Mildliners (x25). I love these for notes + lettering. Bottom is all my Muji 0.5 black gel pens — can’t live without them — and my one pencil.
Middle: Pilot Juice 0.5 gel pens (x36). These are so smooth and the colors are bright!
Right: Top is Stabilo point 88 (x38?) - an old standby. Middle is Tombow Fudenosuke brush pens, which I’m not wild about but still use often. Bottom is Tombow Twintone Markers, which I LOVE and will re-buy once they dry out.
Top bins: A few Mildliner brush pens, glitter Sakura Gelly Rolls, Pentel Slicci metallic, a giant Sharpie, Pilot Varsity fountain pens, and a Pilot Kaküno fountain pen in Fine.
If you know of anything similar to the Fudenosuke brush pens, but with a different tip, let me know!! I like the small size but not how hard they are.
ETA: The tall bins are from Amazon and the flat bins on top are from Target, size small :)))
take a look at twsbi precision. It is a cross between the caran and a rotring 600. Amazon has them for around $25. Nice SS body and takes Parker g2 refills.
Pentel energel alloy, Zebra sarasa grand, energel twist are all nice.
I am personally geeking out over Lamy swifts at the moment. They are super classy and take a decent capless rollerball and also will take the pilot precise without mods. Then have a clip that retracts when the refill engaged.
just a few I know I have and like.
What does the tip look like? I found some that have a very similar barrel on Alibaba.

Sorry for the late reply. I just uploaded some images to Etsy to show the various wood types that I have currently. However, I can make a pen out of almost any hardwood. If I had to choose a favorite it would be the Amboyna Burl (http://imgur.com/3bIxoPA). I can also make pens out of different plastics, and I should have examples of them up soon.
Jetstream actually comes in a super thin tip.
Check out the jetstream edge!!!
Super nice body too!
If that's too thin though, maybe give the normal 0.7 jetstream a test.
Really ant ballpoint dries super fast though. Look at smidt easyflow 9000. Or Parker QuinkFlow.
This looks like one I brought at Staples, one of their gel pens. At least the one I have,(somehow 🤣) Check this link. My pen though, never had the logo on it. staples pen via amazon, first pic I was able to find
Feela gel pens. I've never used them but that same pen has been asked about before. Funnily enough, the clip on the other pen was also broken off. Must be made of cheap thin plastic.
Right now - the matte black metal g2 limited

Refyne EP1 Copper, putting the Schmidt P850 Megaline refill to the test as an EDC ballpoint. I am not a fan of how the Fisher Space Pen refill writes, so I thought I would give the P850 a try.
Looks to be a Uni UM-153S Gel Impact.
Amazon link - Uni Ball Black Capped (UM-153S) Gel Impact Rollerball Pen Ball Point Pens Broad 1mm Nib Tip 0.6mm Line Width Ink (Pack of 3) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00M1VZPK6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_XWAMG8P9WPSY3QYEPDHK
Also: a Faber-Castell "Grip" ballpoint has a Reuleaux triangle cross section, and accepts the ISO G2 refills without any extra bits. The Fisher PR series refills only need the plastic Parker adapter it comes with in order to fit.
I really like the paper mate profile 1.4 B pens. Very bold like and they write smoothly. They’re more difficult to find now since papermate has released some new lines. Here’s an Amazon link.
Paper Mate Ballpoint Pen (1741478) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0749WKY8Y/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_EABX3PG6R49GTZMNNZP7
I got these Parkoo erasable pens, they’re pretty nice

"Smootherpro" on Amazon. They have a bolt action pen that's made to take energel refills. It has a clip, but it's super affordable at under $18. I don't own one, but it always seems to pop up as a suggested item when I'm looking for office supplies. Here.
Very much so! Just glad you jumped on it, honestly. Zirconium is absolutely my favorite...as we've discussed. I somehow didn't realize you had others of their offerings. Ohto makes a phenomenal refill that fits the short (midsized) Tactile Turn. I, too, am a lefty. And I really dig that one. Someone out there (who will probably see this and reply) keeps trying to convince me to get these as well but I've yet to give them a shot.
That's a bummer about the ultra sharp edges. I haven't experienced that with mine...but I was anodizing a friend's and noticed I was covered in blood somehow...and that's what had happened.
I used the ones for Montblanc ballpoint pens and the spacer is, embarrassingly, just a section of Q-tip stick cut to size with an X-acto knife.
The Montblanc refills have an endcap with a hole in it so you could find a dowel that fits is appropriately. The space is there because older Montblanc ballpoint pens use something called a "Giant" refill that is no longer manufactured, but there is a spacer that snaps into that hole.
Cool thanks just bought this 3 pack, it’ll fit the 600 right?
I haven't seen the refills in the wild, but they exist. As far as I can tell, it's compatible with all the standard gel refills (Pilot G2, EnerGel, Uniball Signo, etc.)
reverse image search brought back the model but it looks like jetpens might have been the only place selling them, however they do still make an updated model with the only difference being in the tip shape on amazon.
I actually use the Novus three step system on my Montblanc pens. I'm not really interested in saving a few bucks and using toothpaste on something as expensive as these pens.
Link to product on Amazon U.S. - This is NOT an affiliate link.
Thank you! I'm not sure about the exact weight but it feels pretty heavy for its size
Heres where I got it: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0837NDFR6/ref=cm_sw_r_u_apa_fabc_FRWWN2N9D1ZFGH7ANK29?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I went with one of the knock off Gertner Oak tool chests. It has lined drawers and looks vintage like. Amazon and Harbor Freight has them. Hold a lot of pens and works for me.
here is one on amazon...
Mine is now full with Parker Jotters and I am looking for something else.
I agree - I have a set of Bertolucci Handwriting pens from Amazon and love them. Plastic nib pens are bomb! Berol Handwriting Pens (PACK OF 4) BLACK INK https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00M1WG6CG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_NN3B92EZ0Y3SZGQRNNEP
I agree on using a Fisher Bullet Space Pen. Though my clip seems to work fine. If you want a really small pen that still functions well, I would highly recommend the Zebra Mini Ballpoint Pen.
This is a very tiny, skinny, pen that works well.
I can't determine the particular brand, but it looks like a nylon-tipped pen. Some needle point or fineliners have nylon fibre points for durability.
PaperMate makes felt and nylon versions of these, for example. Good luck!
https://www.amazon.com/Paper-Mate-Flair-Original-Medium/dp/B000I5ZMQ4/
That's disgusting! Where would somebody even get one of those things these days?
EDIT: As it turns out, Amazon really does have everything.
I share your frustrations. I STRONGLY recommend these. They are expensive, but so worth it. Especially if you prefer a fine line.
Never used or seen that brand pen before, but looks very similar to my Delfonics pen. https://www.amazon.com/Delfonics-wooden-ballpoint-0-7mm-MINI/dp/B00PXLGHX0/ref=sr_1_17?dchild=1&keywords=delfonics+pen&qid=1611041299&sr=8-17
Cross Classic Century in gold pressed. You can find em on ebay for a lot less than that link, but $14 is good. Might be because of the deluxe logo. That was purchased as a promotional gift, I guess company name Deluxe. Takes Cross style ballpoint refills, aka C1, if it doesn't write anymore.
The gold clips are their recent "vintage" line. More interesting color ink, in new color bodies. Just get the regular one. It will fit other gel refills too.
Well if it looks official and not a knockoff, it's probably real. So keep using it. G2 is a popular refill form factor if you want more options.
Here it is. Unfortunately only available in black ink for now, and you can get it in 0.5mm or 0.7mm. They are supposedly going to make it available in blue but it hasn’t happened yet.
Jetpens carries singles rather than multi-packs, and they also have it available in 0.38mm.
amazon has the high grade refills.
they will pop right in the f701 without mods. Black only, but they do write nice. I work in the field doing engineering work and sometimes conditions aren't perfect for a regular or gel pen. This will get the Job done.
I bought a different blue colored version:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002CKN422/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It does not work with anything but the Jetstream and is definitely not the same quality as the orginal Jetstream alpha. I like the color, but it is inferior in almost all ways compared to the others.
The advice about jetstream is that it's a low viscosity/hybrid ballpoint. Most of the smoothness of a gel without downsides. Another hybrid is Schmidt Easyflow 9000 which does come in blue. You mention it but it is the alternative. Also Monteverde is another good maker and comes in a variety of colors.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07L8K32HG
Not cheap but they last. Jetpens has a 0.38 size as well. Again, not cheap.
For best bang/buck for a G2 Parker refill, I recommend Kaco gels. They're a decent gel ink. I use blue.
