Not a cop but I had an 06’ crown Vic as my first Car and I just used a Bluetooth FM transmitter which plugged into the cigarette lighter in the front.
Idk much about the police models of the car, so if that port isn’t available to you, JBL has a flat portable speaker that you should be able to find a spot for, although it’s pretty pricey. You could probably find a similar speaker for cheaper
You only need one person who would fall for it like an old person or teen who is scared to be arrested. Just buy a costume that looks kind of like what the police in your area would wear and stop random people until it works. Here's a super cheap one I found on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0087JGICA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_NZPKMJR10KXZ43Y77Q98?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
My husband works in law enforcement but isn’t on social media- which is why I follow LEO stuff on all my platforms. This is his flashlight: https://www.amazon.com/Streamlight-Flashlight-12-Volt-Charger-2-Holder/dp/B018WICB2G. As far as his off duty- depends on the day. He either uses a m&p shield 9 mm or a rock island armory revolver that I think is a 38 special. He usually carries the revolver if we are going to go to gun range to shoot, since I’m a better shot with it than the shield.
Searching vehicles or structures? Mechanics gloves. Searching people? Nitrile gloves or nothing. If gloves are puncture proof you're not feeling anything. Pat and roll clothing before you stick your hand where you can't see and take your time.
Working cold weather? Wool socks. Hot weather? Lightweight wool socks. Wear layers and dress to be outside no matter the weather, because if it's shitty you're going to be stuck outside.
Keep water and snacks in your patrol bag along with pepto, tums, Tylenol.
Carry a cigarette lighter. People you arrest smoke more than the normal population.
Have a pen that can write out of position and in the cold. Pressurized pens do both. You can have something nice but there are cheaper options as well. Have throw down pens for other people. I trust some guys in my area with my life.... but not my pens, cuffs, belt keepers, or my wife.
Just keep a mask like this in the trunk.

These other methods are all legit, for the 1980s - we live in a future now where you can take care of the issue without giving up anything.
Other cops will give you shit, because they are jealous that they don't have one and didn't think of it first - just tell them to keep breathing deeper to sniff up all the stink for everyone else.
3M makes great ones to with ALL kinds of filters - find the one that lets you focus on your job without the distraction of someone else's unfortunate end.
He took part in a massive drug bust and wrote a book about it. It was apparently the biggest bust in Australian history at the time. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Operation-Clinker-Smuggling-Rod-Mason-ebook/dp/B08PQL4CH4/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?crid=36WBO1H5JF1FF&keywords=operation+clinker&qid=1654621370&sprefix=operation+clinker+%2Caps%2C71&sr=8-1
More details might help like what kind of phone it is but otter box usually adds clip on phone case holder. It's been good fir climbing on the walls of houses during framing (construction) or you could look for maybe a magazine pouch that you can use. https://www.amazon.com/Mount-PALS-Armor-Flat-Earth/dp/B00GJJ69HE maybe this might work.
Bala gear are extremely well made. They go on the outside of your uniform though. https://www.amazon.com/Bala-Gear-Police-Suspender-harness/dp/B00F4HGJMC/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=2A05CQRQ3D5VO&keywords=bala+gear+police+suspenders&qid=1649518384&sprefix=bala+g%2Caps%2C121&sr=8-3
Remember Soap McTavish from Call of Duty, or any girl working in retail with a walke talkie? They both had over the ear earpieces. I use one and it’s great, I can hear what’s going on around me, and others most likely wont hear what’s being said to me.

This isn’t the one I use, but it’s the same type.
I have been a Police Officer for three years now. This is a great question and one that I often think about and reflect on my own life.
One thing is certain, the hours and work schedule will make it quite difficult to have normal friend outings. You will notice you will slowly began to hang out with your cop friends, and soon, your "old friends", will be kept up with via social media and the occasional "we need to get together soon text." You HAVE to make time for non police friends. This is absolutely a requirement to having normal conversations and friendships that don't revolve around a profession that can at times seem very " in group vs out group."
Unsolicited advice: Read Flavio Mota's book and a book titled "Verbo Judo."

>I want to apologize immediately, English is not my native language, so the translation may be inaccurate and the meaning of some phrases may be transmitted incorrectly.
This does not explain anything. Police officers who are trained at special training centers are adults with an already formed personality. And any person is able to critically assess everything he is told and shown.
What do you think, if a person watched the TV series "Criminal Minds" he that turned into a serial killer?

I personally like the longer flashlights because I’d tuck it under my support arm and able to illuminate a driver or occupants and still have both my hands free to grab the paperwork. I’ve never been able to make that work with the trendy small flashlights. Also my large streamlight was just as bright as my smaller ones. To me each one has a purpose. I had a barrel style holder that would cup the head and kept it from swinging around. That was like 15 years ago and I can’t seem to find it for sale anymore. I used this keyboard for a while - main selling point for me was that I could just the little switch on the top left to go between my phone and computer - plus most phones will fit in that top tray to rest.

They tend to be pricey, but if you ride motorcycles or work in an environment with low flying objects they are priceless. Good leathers will save your skin from asphalt/concrete rash if you drop the bike going down the road. They want stop you from breaking bones but it is better than being laid up in an hospital ortho bed with a nurse peeling scabs off twice a day.
It’s a tad pricey for 1 clip but I haven’t managed to lose it yet & I haven’t had an issue with the mic coming unclipped! TMK - Tactical Mic Klip https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005RTTJ60/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_PT5ZEAV5SNQEJRAJVY56?psc=1
I recommend getting an open eared end for the earpiece. They are more comfortable as it does not feel like one ear has an earplug and you can still hear your radio.
I use these ones on shift https://www.amazon.com/HDE-Replacement-Earpiece-Insert-Acoustic/dp/B01N27TTDD/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=open+ear+earpiece&qid=1609741093&sr=8-3
I was gifted this for Christmas and I love it

More gift ideas I also appreciate. Quality socks. Thermal socks, summer socks, etc.
Also pens. Get him a few Zebra F-701's
https://www.amazon.com/LEATHERMAN-Emergency-Response-Breaker-Compatible/dp/B07N6QFXC8 something like this. My husband has it and carries it on his duty belt. Makes cutting seatbelts and breaking car windows with kids/ animals locked inside way easier.
I actually prefer non-polarized sunglasses because you can't read most computer screens with polarized sunglasses. It's difficult to find good quality ones though. I've got a pair of these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07B48NW39/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Nothing special or flashy, and they are under $20 so I just replace them when some idiot fights me and they get smashed. They are comfy and reasonably robust. I've broken a few pairs over the years. The last one was some guy at Great Clips who decided to shoot up some heroin, snort a line of blow, take his pants off and then try to fight a transgender person that was in the store trying to get their hair cut.
A friend of mine bought me some non-polarized Aviators, but I try not to wear them often because they might get smashed by a pantsless druggie.
Not sure what it's called but I did find this on Amazon after a little searchy poo https://www.amazon.ca/MaximalPower-RHF-COIL-BK-Replacement/dp/B014QN4YMQ/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?keywords=maximalpower+rhf+coil&qid=1562215384&s=gateway&sr=8-1
Fellow rookie here (coming up on a year). I’ve always had problems staying asleep throughout the night. I typically would wake up 3-5 times a night. I’m permanently on midnights so sleeping during the day absolutely sucked when I first started. About 2 months in I started taking these. I pop one in when I get home and by the time I lay down I’m ready to sleep. I stay asleep all day and wake up after 8 hours of sleep when my fiancée gets home. No more being tired on shift and no more worries about not getting enough sleep. They honestly give me the best sleep I’ve ever had.
I had the same issues you had when I first started, too. Always thinking about work and all that. But these really do help me sleep a lot better. Also, I don’t take them when I don’t work so it’s not like you grow dependent on them.
Not a LEO but I do recommend Oakley Patrol Boots . I’ve used these for years and they are comfortable and can survive both harsh and cold environments. Not sure if this fits your budget since you never mentioned one but they are worth every penny. The toes are also polishable. Also I recommend asking this question in r/AskLeo or r/ProtectandServe since this sub is less active compared to those.
