I’ve had so many clients who’ve tried to use microwaveable wax at home and have burned the ever living shit out of their skin. The plastic containers tend to melt and wax will shoot out the sides. They’re extremely dangerous!
You should buy a small wax station ($25) and linen strips. Most wax stations are temp controlled and heat to the perfect temp every use.
I hope you heal well!
Hydrogen peroxide kills healthy as well as infected tissues. You don't want to be putting HP in an open wound like that if it isn't necessary.

Oh, those have a special name and are very problematic, glad you sought out medical care. Pilonidal cysts
I get these so frequently it's crazy. And they're huge, like 3 times the size of that. I got this thing on Amazon and it's literally a godsend because they're not dropping down the back of my throat as I try to cough them out.

Also, happy cake day! Seems like a nice gift
Esthetician with keratosis pilaris here! I have good luck with this lotion from Alpha (formerly Alpha Hydrox brand). It has 12% glycolic acid with a ph of 4 and its fragrance free!
Whoa I thought this was more of a thing! Sorry for less explanation. That's the tool I use, got it off of Amazon, it's cheap and works kind of like a shaving razor except it has a thick edge - so it just scrapes along the skin, without cutting it. It scrapes up dead skin - it's extremely satisfying! I find that if I heavily lotion/oil my legs/arms that morning then have a hot soak, makes everything slough off that much easier. Your skin is nice and soft underneath.
Here's an after pic: http://m.imgur.com/xhKcSe7 My before pic /u/mostlytolerable posted ;)
I originally got it to help with some ingrown hairs on my legs from waxing - and I found if I would do it before waxing, it would make the hairs come out more easily. But I got hooked when I saw all the gross dead I'd scrape off... I am an odd breed, but at least I'm among my people :)
Oh and I have zero idea why Amazon is now selling it for $60?? It is not worth that, but was a good value when it was like $15-20. Search for "skin scraper" - I'm sure there's a more technical name, but the internet will still know what you're talking about. When dogs develop a callus, they will often get keratin plugs in the hair follicles. They look a lot like seeds, often a little shiny.
Here's a video of somesome pulling them out of his dog's elbow: https://rumble.com/v41em5-blackheads-on-the-elbow-of-my-dog.html
To reduce the size of these calluses and regrow hair, the plugs need to be removed, the callus need to be scrubbed down/defoliated regularly and the dog needs to be prevented from putting pressure on the callus.

They sell a skin tag remover on Amazon that has great results. It comes with a device that shoots a tiny band around your skin tag. Take 5-10 days to fall off painlessly.
Looks like hidradenitis suppurativa and it's a real bitch. I don't have it but others on this sub do. It's a poorly-understood chronic condition that's hard to treat. For your friend's sake I hope it's not that, but if it is, there's a whole subreddit for people who are dealing with it (/r/hidradenitis if I remember right).
Happy to help! If you get one while this thread is still active, give us all a review if you can!

In Europe we just go to the ENT doctor since healthcare pays for that. Also you can buy special syringes which can be used to spray some water into the ears which is the same as what the doctor does but with a more professional device. I use that from time to time to clean my ears on my own.
Hey! You did buy the right type of bandaids and they’ll definitely work, personally I prefer this brand:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D1CT9DX?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I buy these whenever I see the price drop and order a bunch at a time. Love to keep them on hand for not only pimples but also for cuts and bug bites. I’m a chronic picker and these help stop me picking and speeds up the healing time.
i get that too and i read that butt acne is totally different and needs to be treated differently. they're more like boils/fungal stuff. i had been using the prescription acne stuff for my face on them and it never worked.
i recently started using hibiclens after i get out of the shower to dry it out (maybe every other day) and antibacterial soap in the shower after using my cetaphil gentle cleansing bar and they've been so much better (knock on wood). i've just started using the antibacterial soap so i haven't tried other brands, but i've been using Derma-nu natural and organic anti fungal therapeutic soap all over body wash, tea tree and mint.
i have devastatingly sensitive skin and it affects all parts of my body pretty differently and this has been working for my butt stuff so far.

3mm is a good size for a small sebaceous cyst like this - big enough to get the thick contents out, small enough to not leave a huge hole on your face.
I also use 0.75 mm ones for tiny whiteheads and things. I am actually trying to shorten and upload a video of me using one on a whitehead in my ear a few days ago. It's completely healed and pain free.
Edit: paging /u/emmariiight to make sure you see my suggestion for 3mm biopsy punches.

Definitely ensure you are using distilled water. I heat it in the microwave for 25 seconds so it isn’t too cold. Depending on your microwave and your preference you may want to do shorter or longer.
Cheap USB microscope camera! Quality hooked up to my phone was bad ( first video I posted here ) but the quality plugged into the laptop here is pretty great. nice, thanks!
I found a trimmer that cuts super close without being ingrown close, but it is sharp stubble close down under. It's been like perfect for my underarms and more. I don't like amazon, but it's this one.
For everyone asking about the black cotton swabs, you can get them on Amazon. They're more expensive than the Q-tip brand, but they're pretty good. There are a couple options, but I have these now:
Daiso Japan Black Cotton Swab 200pcs Spiral head (1) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MRYER61/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_OpZ3Bb9TXMCD7
These 4”x4” hydrocolloid bandages are great, too. I typically sterilize scissors with rubbing alcohol, then cut the big bandage into ribbons for those pesky blemishes along the jawline.
IMO, the little hole-punch sized blemish bandaids are too pricy for the amount of surface area you get.
I take a hot shower and use a facial scrub. When I get out of the shower I put cold water on my face and neck, then dry It with a towel. I then use trimmers to cut down the hair before I use a wahl 5 star shaver/shaper which was recommended by my barber. After I shave I wash my face again with hot water and a face soap. I then put cold water on my face again. I then use tweezers to pull the ingrown hairs that I was not able to prevent. It's a long ass process and it doesn't stop all the ingrown hairs but it gets rid of like 75 to 80 percent of them.
Here's the shaver my barber recommended. www.amazon.com/dp/B01EG4G7BQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_OBBBAbH6EDM79
hey! the large patches are just the Band-Aid brand hydrocolloid patches, they come in a variety of sizes and i just use it on my forehead overnight!

after shower, take a tiny ball of toilet paper and cram it in there (it may be uncomfortable)
put a bandaid on, and go about your day
keep changing toilet paper ball every mornign and night. eventually it will somewhat scar up the area and you'll be able to get in there and go to work
ive suffered with this shit for over half my life. i have no nail on my big left toe (its more like a nub from phenol), the right toe gets ingrown every so often and this is my 'go to' method.
angled finger nail clippers help really get in there
Don’t know why you’re downvoted, it’s statistically true . Part of the reason married/partnered men live longer is because someone’s there to say, “hey you really need to get this looked at, I’m making you an appointment.”
🤷♂️ It's entirely possible that's where your doctor buys them. It's just medical suppliers selling non prescription items on Amazon - no different from, say, gauze.
You can contact a medical supplier directly if you want, but they may not even want to mess with such a small order.

Have you ever used/tried hydrocolloid patches?
Amazon sells some that are 2 different size small circles. You put it on and leave it alone. The hydrocolloid turns opaque and actually grows in size as the hydrocolloid pulls fluid out of the wound.
Regardless, hope it heals soon!

Ger a pair of these. They're very fine point, and are what you see used for DPoWs, and the Japanese and Chinese ear videos.
There is a powder called Honey Dust I use it for underboob sweat all the time. It's technically for putting on your body and having your partner lick it, but like nahhh. It's AMAZING I recommend getting a kabuki brush to apply it.
This is the manual squeeze bottle. As also posted you can get more sophisticated kits.
I shaved my head bald for the first time in my life over the holidays, and got a massive amount of ingrown hairs. You may want to consider not shaving so close.
Anyway, after a few weeks of growth, I still had some that weren't going away in a similar location as yours. I decided to buy a "cupping" set on Amazon, which basically put suction on your skin. This stretches your skin (and your pores) making it easier for things to come out, but also has a drawing effect and brings fluids to the surface.
Here are a few photo I took when I was doing it https://imgur.com/a/kQvlZbV
I'd use the included hand pump to put on a moderate amount of suction, and let it sit for 10 - 15 minutes. The ingrown pores would start bleeding as they opened up.
Might be worth giving a shot. The cupping kit I bought - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082TZK11J/ - I wanted to make sure I had the 3" cups
I’m a huge fan of Peach Slices Acne Spot Dots available at your local CVS/drugstore. Here is an Amazon link as well.
Can’t go wrong with these bad boys.
Pro tip: actually lance and open up the pimple prior to putting it on. They’re originally made for wounds, which are open. You get much more out if you just make a small, sanitized opening in the offending pimple. Read my other comment for further instructions.

Something like this. Sorry for the Amazon link. I'm also on an old iPhone and don't know how to do the fancy linky linky thing.
My friend’s son and her brother are allergic to mosquitos. They get blisters like this every time.
Take Benadryl, and bundle the hell up. She kept her son in long sleeves, long pants and socks, even during the summer when he was a baby.
I highly recommend the Katchy mosquito trap sold on amazon. We’re overridden with the damn things in my area and this thing has really helped us a ton.

now, I'm completely crazy. But if it were me, I'd buy one of these, and make a hole right in the center of the thing.
https://www.amazon.com/Qinlorgo-Disposable-Sterilized-Stainless-Piercing/dp/B07VF7MGMH/
Just push and twist, and it'll make a nice hole in the center, allowing you to get all the contents out, poke around inside with tweezers, and maybe even get the wall out.
3mm is small enough where it'll heal on it's own without stitches.
I got the MisMon one from Amazon for $190. I was between that and the Braun as that is an actual name brand but as that one is $320 eventually my cheapness won out. It also helped that the negative reviews of the MisMon were mostly people either not using it correctly or with unreal expectations (why am I not hair free in 3 uses!!!).
As for safety, I started on my legs as that seemed like my hardiest skin. So far I’ve had some residue burning feeing under my arms but only because I did it sooner that you were supposed to. It felt like when you fist get a sun burn and was gone in a few hours.
The MisMon has 5 levels and I can’t even few the first 3 and the last 2 are more annoying than painful on my legs, underarm and under chin. On my bikini line, I have only used the 3rd level. This is for pain and safety (I can handle a burn on my arm pit, I cannot on my crotch, lol). So far I’ve only done my thighs and my mons at that is were I have the issue with ingrowns. I don’t think I would use it on my labia because of how sensitive the area is and the awkward angle. I would feel safe doing between my butt cheeks if I had someone to help but that isn’t an angle I can do on my own!
If you currently suffer for irritation after shaving, I would shave a day before you do it (rather than right before). This way the skin can heal and you can put after shave stuff on it (the skin has to be clean with nothing on for the IPL).
I just learned that most people use after sun or numbing gel after they use it. I have not done that yet so I don’t know how much it helps but if you’re worried about the pain, it’s like $4

IIRC These are the brand I've bought before but skipping undies when u can is probably best.
Be careful of everything scented even toilet paper bc I've had reactions to how much chemical is in them, maybe how the paper is bleached white? Whatever it is causes an evil vicious reaction that takes days to clear up. I used to be able to use the Target Up&Up brand but they seem to have changed how it's made & now it kills me. I bought a bidet attachment for about $35. Best $ I've spent in ages.
All that said, it rly does look like HS. I sure hope it goes away quickly honey bc its got to be crazy painful & irritating. Take care💚
In some Asian cultures, women shave their faces. Amazon even sells the razors:
This is the brand I found to work best of the few different ones I've tried. You get 2 sets, so you can do it with someone else, or save it and do it a second time later. The price is a little higher than some of the others on Amazon, but I hated the other ones, they didn't work at all. Except, I've never tried the actual brand Baby Feet, I think they're priced even higher though, so I never bothered, since these worked so well for me.

So during bath time I've been dumping big cups of warm water over her head (something we started doing in swim class to practice holding her breath). After bath time, I would like massage the outside of her ear to make sure there wasn't any water in there.
Today after bath time I went to clean her ears and I used a little lighted ear pick I found on Amazon (linked below). Once I stuck it in her ear I saw that the blockage was dislodged and was able to slowly scrape it out.

i was seriously skeptic when she recommended it, originally, but decided fuck it, i'll give it a try. definitely recommend you try it and see if it works for you!
You can buy special syringes which can be used to spray some waterinto the ears which is the same as what the doctor does but with a moreprofessional device. I use that from time to time to clean my ears on my own. It's a lot better than using q-tips

Most docs will say there is an infection. I had mine out because of stones, but like others said, insurance varies. My breath was awful too. Few tips: 1) get a waterpik. I hate it and don’t use it anymore, but it was 100% the best way to clear stones daily. 2).TheraBreath is the best mouthwash to cover the smell. You can buy it at most stores, but this is an Amazon listing: amazon.com/dp/B00IRKRK9O/
You won’t rid yourself of stones without having them removed. Go see an ENT. I didn’t think the pain was bad during recovery either. I also had two really bad bleeds, one filling up my sink with blood (they actually cauterized me without numbing spray because he ran out too). After about two-three days it’s a bad sore throat. After you recover you’ll love life since you’re no long spitting out those stinky ass stones.
+1 to tweezerman. Ingrown beard hairs + whacky eyebrows and it works for both.

These bad boys rock, and are really hard to lose.
It's a splinter remover.

It's not the most cosmetically elegant option, but I have some 4 inch square bandages that work the same way. Scissors are an option, but I have a (clean, sanitized) dedicated hole punch that I use to get pimple-sized dots out of it. One square can last ages depending on how often you need to use it.

Diabetic lancets work great for this. They’re tiny needles and sterile. You can buy a box of 100+ on Amazon for cheap.
Just dig the hair out enough so you can grab it with tweezers. It will save you from damaging your skin too much by digging with tweezers.
this is the one I bought and I'm very happy with it, cheap and good quality, no trouble connecting and the video quality/ user interface is great considering the price

That’s the one I’m using in this video that I love!! My favorites came with another brand of scope that sucked but the tips were great, but I can’t make myself spend $30 again on the whole scope just for the tips and I can’t find them alone anywhere.

I doesn’t shave completely smooth, but it works incredibly well and I have never had an ingrown hair since I started using it :)
Modified a camera that’s a lot like this one:
Had my husband cut a notch out of the plastic piece that sits between the lens and the skin so I could use tweezers with it.
