https://stripe.com/ This is the company getting your 15 cents everyday you work and or receive a tip. They have weekly and monthly payout options which pm doesn’t provide so I believe they get some kind of kickback. If I’m paying for it I should be able to decide how I get paid! Also be sure to deduct those charges when it comes to tax time.
the new tip update does kinda suck theres a really big change in tips however drop-offs are faster with a here you go hand the items and say goodbye

i sit lodged in the higher income areas where they buy food that runs in the hundred dollar range... also in range where i can quickly run on freeways... but oddly these were jobs on the weekend...which is very busy...
LA market
It's a bit pricey for what it is but I splurged and bought one of these. I'm actually waiting for it to arrive sometime today.
Yea I’m not a big fan of just stealing food but I get why people are doing it and I don’t think it’s outrageous for how they feel. Hell read some reviews PM takes money from customers and postmates alike.
Search 10 gallon insulated bag on Amazon. You can usually pick one up for 20-25 and you will get paid back in tips. The postmates bag is a piece of shit that will only fit small orders. This is the one I use (sidestraps for pizza) it doesn't seem available at the time but there are others similar
Looks like they already released an update to fix that. > What's new in 3.0.2: > • Fix for receipt camera issues on some Samsung phones.

Also at least two power banks (or one big one), headphones-not for music as this is dangerous as you are essentially driving without rear views- to hear the pings OR better yet, a Bluetooth speaker granted this will drain battery quicker but that's what the power banks are for
They currently use Stripe for the usual payment processing. Since I do not have the instant payout I cannot confirm they are using Stripe for the instant payout at well.
From Stripe's docs, they charge 1.5% with a 50¢ minimum. So, if PM is only charging the 50¢, then they don't appear to be adding in anything on top.
If someone can check a payout over $33 and see if the fee is 51¢ we can pretty much confirm they are just passing on what Stripe is charging.
See the Stripe Instant Payouts doc here

To put all these savings of a few minutes into perspective, let's assume the average speeding ticket cost is $150. In order for six minutes of your time to be worth $150, you would have to make $1,500/hour or about $3,000,000 per year.

Avoid left turns
get a jackery charger on amazon. i own 3 different sizes. all incredible build quality at affordable prices. the "jackery bar" is probably a good bet for a day's worth of use, the "giant" will get you 2-3 days depending on how many charges you need a day. You can get a Bar for $15, giant for $20, just grabbed one for the girlfriend for her bday. i recommend it to all of my friends and all of ours are still running fine, oldest is 2.5 years old. I originally bought the giant when it was $40 so its pretty cool to see it so low in price now.
Ditch the postmates bag and get a decent 10 gallon hot/cold bag on Amazon This is the one I use and it's awesome https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071WT97X4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 You'll need it for pizza and most family size orders. You can use the postmates bag for the crappy Chipolte orders that are always `1 or 2 burrito bowls and/or chips.
I got this drink holder on amazon for $10. My car only has 2 cup holders and one of them usually has my drink in it, so I keep this one on the passengers seat for when I have multiple orders with drinks. The free drink holder that restaurants will give you (when they haven’t already run out) doesn’t support drinks well and they’ll tip over if I make a tight turn or hit potholes/speed bumps.
i bought this thing and it saved me. once i got a 8 drink order from a Tea place for some nurses. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00006ICOT/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It's a terribly-coded app and server system you can rent and do deliveries by just buying a dot com.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.datadreamers.wisdomgps&hl=en
I got a blitz notification text. You have to register your phone number when you are signing up for the onboarding.
I would honestly just try to install the app and login. My friend at Chipotle said she tried and it just notified her she couldn't deliver until they actually approved her to drive (which happened to be 3 weeks later). It doesn't hurt to login early or slow down the approval process.
Here's the driver's app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.postmates.android.courier
Here's the driver's website login (where you put in your bank account info for direct deposit; which is super important): https://postmates.com/courier
Do you use your PostMates password for other accounts? Password reuse is how hackers are getting into accounts but they usually don't cancel orders. You could check out https://haveibeenpwned.com/ to see if you're in any breaches.
sorry to hear that happened, the advice the other user gave was correct on changing the Password. This could have happened if you reuse Passwords across different sites and someone hacked/viewed a PW list from a previously hacked site. If you use your same Password on Postmates on other sites I would recommend changing it immediately. A site such as https://haveibeenpwned.com/ allows you to see what "data dumps" your info is included in.
The gas lines are not bad on my local costco, but I usually fill on Saturday mornings early when they first open, so doesn't matter so much. Also, pumps reach both sides with long hoses at most Costco stations, which helps reduce wait (I find that space on the right hand side pumps often opens up much quicker).
Also, you don't need a Costco membership to buy Costco gas if a member buys you a Costco Cash card. When you swipe a Costco Cash card, it won't ask for a membership. You'd lose the 3% credit card cashback, but that would only be about 7 or 8 cents with modern gas prices. Especially given the price disparity for Costco on premium. You can get them in quantities ranging from $25 to $1,000, and if you know a Costco member, they can reload the card when they're at the warehouse (or just buy a new one).
Right now for the Costco nearest me: Costco and BJs clubs charge $2.55 for 93 octane, Sunoco charges $2.67, Shell charges $2.89, Mobil charges $2.89. This is within a two minute drive down the street from Mobil. If the line is really long I get why you might not want to wait at costco, but 34 cents a gallon difference is nothing to sneeze at. Pump fifteen gallons and that's five bucks and ten cents more on the fill at Mobil. Even if you get a cent back per gallon, then Costco is still $4.95 cheaper for the same quantity of fuel.
I use my PenFed rewards visa at all gas stations (wasn't able to before June 20th at Costco, but as of that time they accept visa instead of American express), and that's generally more rewarding than Plenti. Even when Mobil has a special, it still can't touch the price of Costco (if you consider the plenti points awarded as an effective discount on your purchase).
I haven't had a pump that didn't like my speedpass yet, but I had plenti that hated the order I did payment and swiping of the Plenti card in, voiding/declining the transaction...ugh.
One thing you could do is see if they know of a Nextdoor group in their area that is organizing support for the elderly and disabled that can't get out. And if there isn't you could organize volunteers to support them.
Of course this would require doing a couple of runs for them.
A lot of restaurant delivery guys use e-bikes or electric scooters. You see them everywhere but they must house the bikes at the restaurants and be able to plug-in to charge. Whatever they are they are unlicensed (I think) and parked on the sidewalk.
I can't believe most in-house delivery people live close enough to use the bikes to commute to work (both range and legality...).
This kind of thing (maybe). Don't you want to ride the Dragon God?

I'm old fashioned and just use a mileage log book. It will never break though. :P

haha let's see.. I have a Tourmaster tank bag, pretty sure it's this one. Fits a 2x3 drink holder perfectly, though not quite level on my bike. YMMV. Oh, and my main bag is an insulated 23" x 14" x 15' bag that I strap to my tail. It's not super stable but I haven't had any issues with food not staying in place. Just don't put a case of beer or something in it that could shift and fall to the side of the bike.
That's all that comes to mind immediately but I'd be happy to answer any other questions lol
Make sure you're in a dense area like someone else said. Like a downtown type deal.
Get this backpack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07F28LFNB?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I've been using it on a motorcycle and it's amazing.
You can fit two fat doubles with no issue
Put your app on motorcycle (not sure if it has a bicycle setting) so you can see what the order consists of before you pick it up
For us it comes down to orders with drinks
Try and avoid them or pick them if you know the establishment packs them well
If you get a normal large drink make sure to tape the cap down and wrap it in a plastic bag and tie it down snug
Besides that you should be fine.
Bicycle has many advantages. You'll shine in a downtown setting. Park on the sidewalk. In and out quick. You'll figure out the complexes and apartments and how to navigate in and out quickly.
It'll be difficult in a suburb area where there's over a mile between the pickup and drop off for you I wouldn't recommend it.
Postmates relies mostly on tips. I couldn't imagine doing a "long distance" on a bicycle and not getting tipped and sitting there with 3 dollars and being exhausted.
Again dense area and you will make BANK if you grind.
Don't let anyone deter you. It's profitable. Just takes more work but with headphones it's quite enjoyable.
Yes, you can deliver food on your motorcycle but it might be a little difficult on one unless you get a topcase or one of those food backpacks like the one that Postmates sells. A major issue you might have is transporting drinks. I deliver food on my scooter and one time, in addition to the food I was delivering, I had to take 5 drinks with me. I have a 6 drink holder that fits on my scooter's floorboard so I was able to transport the drinks but I'd imagine it would be somewhat difficult on a motorcycle.
If you do get a topcase, I suggest getting the biggest one you can afford. I just bought a 45 liter topcase that's replacing my 30 liter topcase and all that extra space is going to be nice.
I did buy one of these food backpacks but I didn't end up using it because it was uncomfortable for me but it might be a good option for you. It has an adjustable shelf and comes with a 4 drink holder that secures to the inside with velcro.
I bought a tray from Amazon that has room for 8 drinks. It's worked great and since it's plastic, if something spills, it's easy to clean
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00006ICOT/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I use a bike in NYC with this bag:
https://caviaronlinestore.com/products/caviar-food-delivery-bike-bag-%25f0%259f%259a%25b2
(It folds flat with a bungee cord when not in use for easy transportation and it’s much cheaper)
And tape:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00RSAF6NQ/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_4i78DbSBG9DDA
(like I go thru one roll every two weeks or so if I work most nights)
It does last’s, and if you keep it in your Amazon wish list sometimes it goes on sale and it’s even cheaper, now I never spill drinks anymore and if you make a quick comment like “I taped over your drinks to make sure nothing would spill, I hope you don’t mind” most people not only seem grateful but it also seems to increase your chances for a better tip...
a) Tell them about Beans, if they don't already know
b) figure out the GPS coords of the closest parking spot to your door (or your door if the spot is a ways away from parking) they should use and send them those. Their map app should be able to navigate right there.
Oh, wasn't trying to push mine here, but here is the link since you asked. Only works in my area unless someone is willing to be Manager for their area and piggy back off the app.https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.amaranthine.delivery.share
I recommend using an on screen reader app. Idk if IOS has them but on Android there are several apps you can use that quickly screenshot your screen and instantly allow you to copy text. It can even copy text from images.
With these apps you can often bind the trigger to a button. So with a press of a button you can copy an address and input them into a GPS.
Here's the one I use.
Before you just say hit the "navigate" button. GPS apps often take you to the incorrect address or a block of addresses. Doing it manually MAKES SURE it's absolutely where you wanted to navigate.

I got this a few months ago for drinks. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00006ICOT/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_TUGlFbB62V4JK
For food I got to rectangle baskets that are kinda shallow but big enough surface area wise for large food bags. It helps to also keep drink trays from sliding.
If you looked on Google Play, you would see that the current version is for androids is 5.2.4. Similarly, if you looked on the Apple App Store, you would see that the current version is 5.1.19.

You could try uninstalling and reinstalling the app if you're not getting prompted to update it. If you still have a version that's "not up-to-date" after attempting to re-install, it's likely because your phone isn't compatible with the most recent version and you're forced to use an older version.
I asked this question Yesterday and ended up going with this.

3 days for my $85 hot/cold backpack to pay for itself.
PK-76F: Doubledeck Insulated Pizza/Food Delivery Backpack Bag, 16"x 15"x 18", With a Cup Holder. A Waterproof, Collapsible Food Take-Out Box For Catering, Restaurant, Delivery Drivers, 76Liters(Green) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01NAGT78G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_5v0vDbG3ES0SX
Got it to start doing motorcycle deliveries on PM. It also came with an insulated 4 cup drink holder. Leave it in the back seat, keep your regular hot/cold bags in it and still keep the food in them. It will keep the food from warming the drinks. When you have someone nice enough to be waiting outside to meet you and they just expect you to hand them something from the front passenger seat, they will tip the shit out of you when you get out, open up the backseat, unzip your insulated box, take the food out of the insulated bag, so on, and so on. It’s a backpack so it’s easier to carry on apt/hotel trips. It still makes the same impression. CAREFUL ABOUT STUFF SLOSHING AROUND WHEN YOU PUT IT ON YOUR BACK. It didn’t take long to get the hang of it. Some people snicker, most respect the hustle.
YMMV: In Denver
Ps: If your killing it, try to pay it forward and tip out the people making it possible. It’s more work for them and they really aren’t getting a slice. Obvious I mean chains, mom & pop’s love it.
I've been using this for my bike deliveries until I get my bike rack fixed - it has insulation to keep things cool (and I'd assume opposite as well).
Thanks for this tip! I think I'm going with Pewag for sure. I wanted a longer one. I found this on Amazon. They have a 6' version. This uses a Pewag chain. The price kinda sucks but not as much as a stolen ebike.

An imgur link will suffice. As for the backpack they currently offer here in NYC, i've seen Postmates couriers with something in the fashion of this except the ones exclusively for postmates have a design on it and are probably built better, at least they seem like they are from observation. The Caviar backpack is a bit bigger at L:20 1/2 W:15 H:18 roughly.

This was a great investment. Not only good for pizzas but those oversized bags certain fancy restaurants give me. I highly recommend this bag.
