This is what I bought. It works perfectly. You put your MicroSD (it supports up to 64GB) into the adapter and then put the adapter into the PSP like a normal memory stick. Then you'll need to let the PSP format it.
After that, just put your files onto the MicroSD and you're good. However, like some of the reviews on Amazon say, it is EXTREMELY thin and probably very fragile, so be careful that you don't break it.
But yeah, it works great. I've got over 30 games on my PSP now :)
Ill try to find it but its for my 3001 edit: i looked at my battery i use and its basically the same thing here https://www.amazon.com/Insten-Compatible-SONY-capacity-1800mAh-Battery/dp/B0069R5A8A/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=psp+1000+battery&qid=1595702894&s=videogames&sr=1-3
This is what I’ve got in my PSP right now: https://www.amazon.ca/SanDisk-Ultra-microSDXC-Adapter-SDSQUAR-128G-GN6MA/dp/B073JYC4XM/ref=asc_df_B073JYC4XM/?tag=googlemobshop-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=292925723919&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=12732056169082587810&hvpone=&hvp...
Any MicroSD card would fit in the adapter and work, but just note that the PSP isn’t designed to work with such large storage spaces so it’s a bit slow sometimes when loading the list of games on the memory card. It was super noticeable after switching from an original 1GB Memory Stick Pro Duo to that 128GB MicroSD, but I don’t even notice it anymore
I found it! Case anyone wants this classic, i re uploaded it for anyone else. I had to make an account on some Spanish forum, but it works : )
also i am selling a PSP parts bundle if anyones interested :D https://www.gumtree.com/p/psp/psp-1000-bricked-full-bundle-oem-parts-/1386258345
For adaptors, I came across this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Gamer-Micro-Memory-Adapter-Camera/dp/B084P5TLVN/, the one you linked wasn't appearing on the Amazon UK site.
As for micro SD cards, this is a bit confusing. Turns out there's Micro SD, Micro SDHC and Micro SDXC. What's the difference and which do I need for the PSP?
The classic nes gba games are surprisingly copy protected. https://mgba.io/2014/12/28/classic-nes/ You should look for some patches to remove it from the old gba flashcart days. I remember patching all the roms a long time ago with something to make then work on my flashcart back then.

Sadly most psps batteries were made a long time ago. You may need a soldering iron and some mods. I bought a few online to upgrade to infinity for nostalgia reasons three years ago.
The battery board and shell are really the important parts.
Check the capacity of the dual stick. Many max out. I use a dual with two 32gb mini SD and don't have a problem.
Format the cards at the same time in the dual adapter. (I see that you tried already)
After you format, I assume it only gives you the data available on 1 mini SD? Try switching the cards and reformatting.
It might very well be a faulty adapter. I bought off Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XHPS43Q/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It could be the brand of SD card. Bargain cards can be quirky.
