This guide explains everything:
https://openrct2.org/forums/topic/2747-guide-how-much-can-you-charge-for-your-shops/
You don't really need wider paths. All you need to do is keep building rides because those raise the guest cap, and keep advertising because that brings in extra guests.
https://openrct2.org/forums/topic/2861-guide-when-and-how-do-guests-spawn/
If you're looking for the in-game font RCT2 from FontStruct, but you would need to create an account.
...but since it's already free here's a direct download link
The Logo font is Impact, which should be on your computer already
Someone wanted an animation of the ride running without scenery, so here it is. To make the operation of the ride clearer, I've highlighted the block sections in red.
Each loop is it's own block. Behind each lift hill is another block brake. A train sitting on the lift hill occupies that block. Once the train starts to move off the lift hill, it clears that block which allows the next train to begin moving.
Somebody else wanted a download for the file. I have uploaded it here.
Just checked right now mine loads up and can find it on the play store. Try this link https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.atari.mobile.rctc
Download here, if anyone wants it.
EDIT: While it does technically fit in a 13x13 square, there's no way to make a path to the entrance from that side, which I didn't realize until I tried getting people to ride it... oops. It's fixed by moving the entrance station back a square and putting the entrance at the rear.
Yeah, there’s a folder for download online somewhere that has all the rct1 scenarios converted to rct2. That, or you can play classic
Edit: found this: https://openrct2.org/forums/topic/2522-download-rct1-scenarios-for-rct2/
OpenRCT2 is just a fan-made version of the game you can download on top of your existing game. It has a lot of bonus features and cheats not available in the base game, so I would definitely recommend getting it. You should just be able to get it on https://openrct2.org/.
As for the tunnels, you can do that in the base game as well. The caveat is that the ground surface must be at least 2 units above the height of the track. So you have to raise or lower the land until you create a tall enough wall for the track to enter through. Alternatively, you can hold the shift key and drag your mouse down to lower the height of the ride when you're first constructing it (this won't work on pre-made layouts, it'll only work when placing flat rides or when building the first piece of a tracked ride).
My guess is that they reduced the price by mistake and have temporarily taken it off sale until they are able to increase the price again. It's still on the site, you just can't see it unless you already have it.
You need to create your own scenario using the scenario editor to do that.
I recommend getting openrct2, which is an amazing mod that enhances the game in many ways with quality of life improvements and a lot of extra features. You can find a download here.
I hope you have a lot of fun playing this great game again!
The park is 100x100 and took about a week to make. My scenery building has taken steps in the right direction while building it, (the boxes over the railway stations were the first I built) and I've generally had a lot of fun with it.
~~Download link goes here once I get it uploaded~~ Download
Here. Get the development build -- it's actually more stable than the release build, since more bugs have been fixed.
But also ... just learn how to make great roller coasters without overloading on the intensity. It's a little bit more challenging, but that challenge is where the fun is at.
Actually, peeps will pay up to 0,60 for using the bathroom, provided their bathroom need bar is maxed out.
Here is a guide that explains how the max price is calculated:
https://openrct2.org/forums/topic/2747-guide-how-much-can-you-charge-for-your-shops/
Quick summary of the guide:
Guests have a bathroom "stat" ( how much they need to go to the bathroom, is represented by a bar on the page with thirst, nausea, hunger etc. )
They won't go to the bathroom until the stat is about a third of the way full. In which case they will be willing to pay 0,10
As the stat increases, they will be willing to pay more, up until 0,60 when the bar is completely full.
This means you can always charge 0,10 without affecting guests' happiness
Another important fact is that not all advertisements have the same strength, and a higher price doesn't correlate with better advertisements. /u/deurklink1 wrote a guide on guest spawns which also includes a paragraph about how advertising influences it which shows how strong each one is. The best method is to just always run all available ad campaigns for two weeks at a time.
You can get it from here!
It has Day/Night mode but you have to be on software/hardware accelerated mode and enable it, but it only works at like two angles in the game. Plus it's flickery. But it's pretty great when it works.
Scenario guide:
http://rct.wikia.com/wiki/Gravity_Gardens/Scenario_Guide
Guide on park value:
https://openrct2.org/forums/topic/2876-guide-how-to-calculate-park-value/
An easy way to get the park value up is by placing some rides with extremely high nausea and intensity. Even though peeps won't ride them, they contribute a lot to the park value.
Other than that, you could just spam cheap rides over and over again. This will win you most scenarios.
See in that post where it says "OpenRCT2 mod"? Google that
EDIT: Sorry, upon further reading it seems that that branch of OpenRCT2 has been abandoned - you can try building the older version mentioned there if you'd really like to see lights yourself, but the developer of that branch would need to do a lot of updating to get it merged into the main OpenRCT2 develop branch. Note that regular OpenRCT2 has implemented a Day/Night cycle you can enable in the options menu in-game.
Short answer is that it's an open-source reverse engineering of RCT2, allowing for people to fix problems the game had and add new features to it. For free. If you are familiar with OpenTTD, it's pretty much the same story, but much earlier in the life cycle. https://openrct2.org/ has a lot more information than I can recite off the top of my head.
This is a tutorial about using Dropbox to do save game syncing automatically by leveraging symbolic links. Alternatively, you can simply upload/download the save if you want to do it manually without all the mklink work:

The movie "Mission Impossible 2" contains exactly the same crowd sound effect as was used in RollerCoaster Tycoon ! It's well hidden, but if you watch the film carefully, you'll notice the same "Come on, come on, come on" chant in amongst the crowd background sound as exists in RollerCoaster Tycoon. There's no connection between Mission Impossible 2 and RollerCoaster Tycoon though, only that the film makers happened to licence exactly the same 30-second sound recording as we licensed for the game.
Maybe the RCT wikia has more information.
/u/deurklink1 posted some great articles about pricing in RCT

Calculator: http://rct2calculator.ga/
You can find a guide to install RCT2 on MacOS here: https://github.com/OpenRCT2/OpenRCT2/wiki/Installation-on-Linux,-macOS
The next thing to do is install OpenRCT2 to be able to run it. You can find download links here: https://openrct2.org/downloads
I do recommend using the launcher, this way you're always running the latest version of OpenRCT2.
Just tested and it appeared in the install dir of RCT2 (using the GOG version).
Even better would be getting OpenRCT2, opening your save file in there (it's compatible), zoom in all the way and make a giant screenshot from the menu. The screenshot will be in <user folder>/Documents/OpenRCT2/screenshot
Done.

Would appreciate any criticism, because in many ways I am a bit of a newbie. I played RCT and RCT2 back in the day, but only casually.
Now I've finished RCT2 (I'm playing on Mac with Wine), does anyone know if it's possible for me to install the expansions? I never played them back in the day, but from watching other people's YouTube videos it seems easier to get very high excitement levels with the expansion packs (14+ on Giga Coasters for example), and the new scenery looks awesome.
So this is a tiny, space-effective Woodie I created some week ago, and fine-tuned last night to the final form. Cool story below:
The original build did not have 2nd station, and the only one was longer. It was pretty good, but I decided to try 2-station setup and it worked way better. For some reason the trains still seem to stack up in the end.
Good parts about this ride are:
-I like the look of it, I personally think I made pretty good job, the primary idea was to build a small footprint-ride, but it also looks decent.
-It makes good amount of money.
-It is pretty safe(9 block sections for 5 trains).
-It has high excitment with relatively small maximum speed, g-forces and so on.
-It has plenty of space inside, you could build small plaza inside, or observatory tower, or whatever you want.
-Entrance and exit can also be placed "outside" the ride, if you wish to use the insides for something else.
Some technical information that I did not include in the pictures:
9 block sections
5mph lift hill speed
Maximum capacity: Around 3400 riders per hour
Cost: Minimum 6648£
I will upload the file if someone wants it, just a word.
edit: Download link here, RCTGrotto didn't work so I just used general file sharing site: http://www.filedropper.com/silvermedal
Download: https://www.mediafire.com/?l5l24lnxgxrfb31
EDIT: I forgot that, yes, there are some custom parts in this scenario. The AE Matterhorn Bobsleds ride is used in a 5-car per train setup on Shenzhou's Testament. The boats for Okinawa Falls are also custom. There may be other custom bits as well that I'm pretty unaware of, so unfortunately this park will either work or not work for you.
Rocky Mountain Miners and Wacki Wakiki, however, are much less likely to have issues so long as you have both those scenarios installed properly (RMM has some custom rides that I believe are bundled with it. Wacki Wakiki has custom boats as well AE Jungle Cruise. I did not ever anticipate putting these parks for download so I did not care for my CSO spread, unfortunately.)
Otherwise, you're outta luck. I made these parks years ago so I cannot remember all of what's custom and what isn't. Sorry!
/u/DPaluch requested a video, so I've uploaded one here. Unfortunately it seems this site requires Flash. If, like me, you don't have Flash, you can download the file here to watch locally. If anyone knows of a better place to upload this (that doesn't require an account), I can upload it there instead.
> he has since removed that page
> I also remember there was a website with some RCT development/alpha screenshots
That's why I felt that RCT2 was just an improvement rather than a sequel. To me, the RCT series is best in isometric 3D. There are just some games that don't transition well to true 3D. Limitations encourage creativity. All I ever see people doing in RCT3 YouTube videos is crashing them into people or other rides. RCT1 and RCT2 YouTube videos I see people getting really creative or showing off their creations.
I found out a long time ago that sprites created for RCT1 used 3D modeling and pre-rendered them to fit the scale of the game, like this. To really modernize RCT, we need higher quality pre-rendered graphics instead of the dated "bit-crushed" graphics we see rendering in DirectX 5 RCT1 or RCT2 or whatever and use something better than DirectX 5, what Chris said went into making RCT1. It doesn't need to use a more modern DirectX's full capabilities or use the fanciness it can provide like a lot of games do for PC these days. It just needs to look like a true RCT game with a modernized look and just feels great to play. That will take a lot of tweaking to get right though. It may be required to redesign the engine from the ground up.
RCT2 + open source overlay (https://openrct2.org/) is probably my favorite. it has everything you need in your bullet list AND you don't need top end hardware to run it. typically on sale at Steam for mere pennies...
easy to master...easy to play...you can play the same game indefinitely

In this guide you will find some tips on how to make more guests spawn. If you follow them, I'm sure you will be able to beat any scenario! Good luck!
https://openrct2.org/forums/topic/2861-guide-when-and-how-do-guests-spawn/
I agree, these limitations are very frustrating. I doubt they will leave it this way.
The problem you see in the screenshot is related to path caps being formed at the end of those path intersections. Path attachments cannot currently be placed at a path cap (intersection)
Here's a highlight from my stream that explains the current path system and it's flaws: https://www.twitch.tv/jordanmrichards/v/60138345
Hey! It is time to show another compact coaster I made, this one is even smaller than the previous! Check out the imgur album first to see some pictures. Allright, so I went out and made Vertical Drop Coaster that only takes up 8x8 space.
Some info that was not visible in the pictures:
Maximum capacity: about 2300 per hour
Cost to build: 9600 ish(sorry, I did not check the exact price this time)
Trains: 5.
Lift hill speed: 5mph
This ride has high excitement, relatively low intensity and nausea rating, so not only is it very small but also guests love to ride it! Once again you can also put the entrance and exit on the other side of the stations, if you wish to do so.
Downside with Vertical Drop Coaster type is that it is rarely available right in the beginning of a scenario, so it takes some research before you can unlock it.
The original design had the exit station directly under the other one, however I did change this. Result was slightly longer ride, also this way I was able to extend the queue line(exit line had to be placed on the other corner of the ride).
Also as a funny sidenote, I think I actually spent more time figuring out the queue and exit path placing than building the ride itself. I just wanted to fit them in the 8x8...

edit: Sorry, I had wrong links included. These should work in case you want to download.
Yes, Using the openRCT project patch. https://openrct2.org Adds a large number of quality of life features. I stream these sessions every monday and we build with roughly 20 - 30 people over the span of 8 hours.
Download OpenRCT2 for Mac from here: https://openrct2.org/downloads
Then download the original RCT2 demo (the ZIP, not the EXE) from here: https://openrct2.org/download-demo
Extract the ZIP files to the same folder the OpenRCT2 app is in, and when you open OpenRCT2, it should automatically find the demo files and run the full game.
(This is just from memory. I'm on mobile right now so I can't give exact instructions.)
There are no hex changes to make RCT1 run in full screen @ 1080p/1920x1080. It only scales up to 1280x1024. Or you could just use OpenRCT2, it doesn't have any of these restrictions and even has more FPS.
Well, solved my own problem, said fuck it with changing dll files and what not. Went to https://www.virtualbox.org/ and installed it. Booted a Windows XP SP3 iso to the virtual machine. Then installed RCT iso (that I ripped from my personal disc) on the virtual machine. Voila! I'll leave the post up in case anyone has the same problem and they search the subreddit. http://i.imgur.com/5jK4eGC.png
His mobile release of Transport Tycoon is actually really good. Hopefully they can get a version of RCT working just as well as this one.
I apologize for the wait. I decided to do a little extra scenery addition and went a little nuts on the foliage. Everything's within park bounds, so it should be easy enough to just delete things if there's anything in there that's not to your liking.
I've got economy enabled (Because sandbox isn't a challenge) and set to $50,000. You can always edit as you like. As always, drop into Start New Scenarios in your My Documents folder, and you're good to go!
So I still have a long ways to go when it comes to custom coaster and scenery design, but after browsing this subreddit for quite some time, I figured I would try my hand at a few things based on what I've seen here. Any criticism or feedback/tips are greatly appreciated, but I've spend so much time on this park that I'll probably be giving RCT2 a break for a few weeks now! Thanks for looking! And in case anyone is wondering, I made this map based off of the Xtreme97 2013 workbench on nedesigns. All coasters in the park are custom designed.
Edit: If you would like the save file for this map, you can download it here. It's for Roller Coaster Tycoon 2. Please note that there is custom scenery, so you will have to first download and open the Xtreme97 2013 workbench which can be found at the following link: http://www.nedesigns.com/park/2871/xtreme97-workbench-2013/download/
Chris Sawyer's website (where he mentioned writing the thing in assembly) has a list of graphical tools used as well - tons of them:
> The graphics were created using a variety of 3D modelling, rendering, and paint packages, including Lightwave V5.6, Raydream Studio V5, DeBabelizer Pro 4.5, Photoshop 5.5, Paint Shop Pro V5, Deluxe Paint 2E, Pro Motion V4.2, Painter V5, True Space V2, Corel Draw 8, and Meta Creations Poser 4.
Yep, got Elite a few weeks ago. If you like space-sims in the vein of the "X" series or Freelancer you will like it. I play it with a stick (X52 pro) and it's really great. Some say it feels a bit empty but Frontier is (or at least they say they will) adding new stuff, like walking around in your ship an landing on planets. All in all it feels extremely polished an I would recommend it.
Feel free to read their official website, specifically the tutorial videos and com on over /r/EliteDangerous.
I would just recommend downloading OpenRCT2. It's free, you will get a LOT of new features, fixes, and content, and most importantly, it will work on modern systems!
> but it seemed like i was just getting soooo many break downs.
Heh. In OpenRCT2, you can configure which notices you get bothered with, and I just turn ride breakdown notices off entirely. Who cares? It's my mechanics' problem, not my problem. I only get notified if a ride has been broken for a long time and still hasn't been fixed.
>I am playing on PC, i just dropped $20 on RCT classic hah. I can't remember if I have my original copy of RCT2, don't you still need it to play OpenRCT2?
I'm not sure... I think you might be able to use Classic as your source for the OpenRCT2 files. If not, you can always download the RCT2 free trial and use that. Perfectly legal, and there's no reason to feel guilty about it -- they've already got your money from you purchasing Classic.
>Does RCT2 run better on Win10 than the first game? I recall it having issues.
As far as I know, it should run better than the original game and/or Classic by this point. They've done a lot of work on making it better.
I've only tried it on Windows 8 and Linux, though. Never had Win10.
OpenRCT2 is your best bet for getting that RollerCoaster Tycoon feeling on a modern computer. It requires RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 but can also import RollerCoaster Tycoon 1 data once installed. The project team has a quick start guide for Mac online at https://openrct2.org/quickstart/extract-rct2-files/macOS. Both Steam and GOG.com versions of the game are supported if you're looking to buy an online version of the game.
You don't even need to go to the bay, if you really can't/don't want to buy the original game, you can just use the demo of the game with OpenRCT2. I would recommend buying the original tho if you can, to support the developer.
I recommend RCT2 because of the OpenRCT2 mod, not sure what the exact differences between RCT1 and RCT2 are but I understand they are fairly similar games.
OpenRCT2 has a ton of quality of life improvements to the original game including the ability to play at any screen resolution and even play RCT1 scenarios, check out this video, which goes over some of the best added features.
I have only been playing the mod for a couple weeks and the devs have added a significant new feature in that time, the "Simulate Ride" function makes it possible to test coasters while building them.
In RCT2 (and classic) guests are only willing to pay 1/4th of the normal price if you also charge a park entrance fee. Keep this in mind if you play RCT1 scenarios. Also, as rides get older, their value decreases and guests don't want to pay as much for them anymore.
Here's a guide which explains how much you can charge for your rides: https://openrct2.org/forums/topic/2737-guide-how-much-can-you-charge-for-your-rides/
You're not blind! OpenRCT2 is something you need to download
> OpenRCT2 is an open-source re-implementation of RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 (RCT2), expanding the game with new features, fixing bugs and raising game limits.
This guide may help you to spawn more guests: https://openrct2.org/forums/topic/2861-guide-when-and-how-do-guests-spawn/
Basically, you should keep your park rating high, and spam lots of cheap coasters.
Read this: https://openrct2.org/forums/topic/2747-guide-how-much-can-you-charge-for-your-shops/ It is a guide that explains exactly how the prices are calculated. The sheet found above was based on the excel sheets provided in this guide.
Consider getting OpenRCT2. My personal experience with RCT2 on Windows 8 is that it's finicky and doesn't work all that well, especially since it depends on the old Windows dialog box to handle loads and saves.
If you get OpenRCT2, you can play in windowed mode, use widescreen resolutions, and have features that are not normally present in RCT2. It'll also be a lot less of a hassle. OpenRCT2 requires an installation of RCT2 anyways (it uses the datafiles), so it's not a waste of your money to go use OpenRCT2. If it matters to you, OpenRCT2 also has a launcher that will allow you to keep track of how much time you've played RCT2 in Steam.
Compilation is the processes of translating source code into executable machine code so it can be run. The OpenRCT2 project provides precompiled binary builds on their website (and the launcher fetches builds from here I believe), but I can't see any with lighting enabled (if they're out there, /u/janisozaur is probably the one to ask).
The process of compiling the game (on Linux at least) is straightforward:
git clone git://github.com/OpenRCT2/OpenRCT2
cd
into the newly created OpenRCT2 directoryadd_definitions(-D__ENABLE_LIGHTFX__)
. This turns the lighting on.cmake ..
and then make
. This will create the openrct2 executable.make g2
. This will generate the g2.dat file that OpenRCT2 requires.I assume the process is similar on Windows but I'm not familiar with Windows build tools. If you have problems, ask /u/janisozaur because he's more knowledgeable than me (also, if there is a binary available somewhere, he'll probably know where it is).
EDIT: fix typo
Yes you share the same resources. Its just multiple players all collaborating on the same park simultaneously.
Try watching some videos of OpenRCT2 mutliplayer or try it for yourself:
Hi, I'm the webmaster of .net. Me and Jarno (the developer of .com) have made .org now, which will be a mix of both the website.
The launcher is available on openrct2.org, builds are available on .org, the forums are available on .org.
In the future, the coastercloud (to backup your saved games) will come back (to .org, that is) and we'll also make a Steam Workshop-ripoff-thing for OpenRCT2.
So https://openrct2.org is the place to be! :-D
To all PHP dev's who are interested, the source code is available on Github and we'd love some help ;) https://github.com/JarnoVgr/OpenRCT2.org
You could try using innoextract or similar to extract the data files from the disk without running the installer. I've heard of this recommended to people trying to install the game, I don't know if it also works for the expansions.
> I don't want to accidentally get a virus
RCT2 expansions contain only data files and no executable code.
I'm not sure that will be happening anytime soon. I did get RCT2 working with Wine on Linux.
You can get Wine for Mac and try it yourself. Do mind that compatibility is not going to be optimal as you're faking Windows.
I have done some quick Googling for you. Doing everything manually may be a bit advanced, so if you need a GUI then I recommend this piece of software. Otherwise this is pretty nice too if you're into advanced stuff :-).
I imagine most gamestores should have it, depending on your country and so forth of course.
Version 1.0.3.1612301 includes fixes for: - Building sloped tracks/curves hill in car rides, karts and coasters - Scenario completions not being triggered correctly - Guests walking too fast - Frozen people in queues

I believe this to be the RCT2 demo, 60 minute time limit, a few maps.
Back it up if you want, I did.
Edit: I miss-read, can you compare the two files, the CNet one, and the one you found? If they are different, I'd like your copy for personal storage and/or later date recovery.
Alright, sorry for the delay, but here's the file
EDIT: Forgot to restrict the available track sections to unbanked curves - this has now been fixed
These three track layouts are in the zip I uploaded in the other thread (This also includes some of my other tracks - the ones you're looking for are called Alternator, Tailslide, and Insectivore).
The trick to building these is to build a ride that starts high up (lift hills are one way and will stop the train returning), then drops down through a short layout, but doesn't quite make it back to the station, and so rolls back. On the return journey, the back of the train needs to make it into the station. If the back car gets into the station, the entire train will then be pulled in. The length of such rides is limited by this restriction. The game also enforces that the track is a full circuit despite the train not completing it - you want to minimize the amount of unused track because unused track is wasted money, and it looks bad. However, these rides traverse each piece of track four times per ride cycle (the first time it returns to the station doesn't trigger the guests to unload for some reason), so they don't need to be long to get decent excitement, but capacity is absymal. They are good for starting out because they're cheap, but as the park becomes popular they tend to get complaints about the queue time.
Edit: forgot to mention, I changed the break run a little bit - I think it looks better and allows for a station building to be built. Should be a very easy fix if you don't like the change.
Sure, if you would like the save file for this map, you can download it here. It's for Roller Coaster Tycoon 2. Please note that there is custom scenery, so you will have to first download and open the Xtreme97 2013 workbench which can be found at the following link: http://www.nedesigns.com/park/2871/xtreme97-workbench-2013/download/
OTTD is good; a different take is also http://Simutrans.com/ - generally, folks who like one don't care for the other, so if you're new to both, check them both out and chances are you'll like one of them, at least. :)
RCT Classic? Did you see the note on the page that says it does not work on Macs running macOS 10.15 or above? Do you know how to check what version of macOS you're on? If you can I would say return RCT Classic on steam, buy RCT1 and RCT2 or just RCT2, you can get both from steam, and use openRCT to play them. They have instructions on how to set it up on a Mac. https://openrct2.org/quickstart/extract-rct2-files/macOS Thats what I do and its simple, easy, and works. Plus you get all the quality of life improvements from openRCT.
OpenRCT2 is a project to open source reproduce RCT2 with a lot of extra QOL features. It's what most of the creative community is on these days. Modern resolutions, refresh rates, trainer/cheat features, active dev support. Also native macOS support as long as you have the base game files (RCT1 works too!).
RCT2, single player and sandbox. You can then download OpenRCT2 for some extra features and play multiplayer scenarios or sandbox with him at the same time!
Yeah, I have RCT Classic. I was also pointed to this page last night.
https://openrct2.org/downloads/releases/latest
Where there is an android release of OpenRCT2
So if someone could help me get that working like I described above, that would be amazing! 👍
Tbh, you should probably just install OpenRCT2 if you're already using RCT2. You get access to a bunch of new features and cheats, and you can turn those banners invisible so they don't ruin your aesthetic.
So what's in OP is RCT Classic for mobile, but a lot of people have RCT2 and play with the OpenRCT2 conversion, which self describes as follows:
>OpenRCT2 is an open-source re-implementation of RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 (RCT2), expanding the game with new features, fixing bugs and raising game limits.
And lists the following features:
You can always skip ahead if you don't like the examples. I think it's good to show a few things you can achieve by making things invisible, or else you won't know what it's actually useful for. By the way, you can read everything here as well: https://openrct2.org/forums/topic/2880-guide-how-to-make-invisible-rides/
The sheet was made based on this guide I wrote: https://openrct2.org/forums/topic/2747-guide-how-much-can-you-charge-for-your-shops/ Everything will become clear once you read this. The data was taken directly from the game code, and is not outdated.
Umbrellas are a special case because they bypass the normal price check when it's raining. You can often charge more for on-ride photos because guests will be happier after riding a roller coaster.
I usually start at around £40 entry. They will pay once you have enough rides. The more guests that come in at a low price the less space there is for guests when you can charge more so I'd rather have no guests at the start than have guests paying £10.
Assuming you don't want to just spam tons of super small coasters then start by using no entry signs to cut off the areas of the park with no coasters. From here just build non stop, small at first and larger as you progress but remember that value is linked to your E/I/N stats.
Placing lots of stalls can be very lucrative, especially if you merchandise your ride exits to make the most of happy guests.
I really enjoyed this scenario so my advice would be to just take your time and concentrate on building cool coasters and lots of shops.
Check out Deurklink's park value guide. https://openrct2.org/forums/topic/2876-guide-how-to-calculate-park-value/
And here's my play through on classic (it's more or less the same) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_YBFn21xW50
We have daily Android builds, you can snatch then through our unofficial, but affiliated website: https://OpenRCT2.org. We also have support for webassembly target, but as of this moment you would have to compile it yourself and include required assets through memfs.
If you download Open RCT 2 (https://openrct2.org/) you can get RCT to work on a mac. You still have to own the game, so you will still need to buy it on steam. My gf managed to get it to work on her mac after searching through this subreddit for instructions/answers to the exact question you're asking (I don't understand the mechanism myself, sorry I can't be more helpful).
Yes and no. It's the original RCT2 but a group of people on the subreddit recoded it into a more easily understandable coding language so there can be future additions to the game and to fix some bugs that were in the original. It does require the base game though.

I don't mean to steal your thunder, but I've already made 2 themes very similar to this one on the OpenRCT2 forums: https://openrct2.org/forums/topic/1730-yoloswegglords-themes/ I like where this one is going though, but I'd suggest getting some more colors in there for accent. If you want to keep it subdued, I'd suggest going with dark purple or maybe brown.
You'll need a legal copy of Rollercoaster Tycoon (GOG has a lot of good deals on this type of thing) and then go to https://openrct2.org/ and follow instructions there. It will certainly run on a ton of things.
Lighting is an experimental feature, though, and isn't in the link I gave above :)
Hmm, I'm afraid I won't be much help as I use a PC. I know it can be done though, I think people often use Wineskin but again I don't have a lot of experience with it. I suggest you make a new post about it and the experts will likely chime in!
If you're feeling adventurous, you could also try the WineBottler (http://winebottler.kronenberg.org/) which emulates Windows programs to run under Mac. They try to make it fairly painless to install and setup and you don't have to feel guilty about playing a less-than-legal copy. ; )
Windows 7 is known to have compatability problems with some more obscure and dated games. An old favorite of mine called Space Empires 5 didn't work flat at all, some driver/dll changes or something. If you happen to have a L*egitimate classic Windows (XP, 94/5, ME, etc) disc (*cough or ISO cough) kicking around, it's for the most part drop-dead easy to set up a virtual machine for free that will emulate and run dated games like RCT as if they were on native hardware.
And heck, I don't think M$ is going to be chasing anyone for pirating WinXP, it's pretty much abandonware now.
I posted this on the other thread as well, but the original source is here, under "RCT has you". (It's on the internet archive because that website no longer has these comics.)
Oh I uploaded those files to mediafire myself, I'm using adblock however so I wasn't aware of it's dodgy advertising.
How about this one on WeTransfer.com: https://www.wetransfer.com/downloads/35f7e269dacfba118581f70abff3116d20160629231425/97c24224f7910c2587b3db92f0c1a9d720160629231425/2bfca2
Edit: I forgot where I originally downloaded those from, I believe it was http://galax.moe/rct/ but their link is offline.
I bought RCT2 from Amazon, nothing needed to be installed: https://www.amazon.com/Rollercoaster-Tycoon-Triple-Thrill-Download/dp/B004APAELG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1544128765&sr=8-1&keywords=rollercoaster+tycoon+2

It runs Out of the Box with Windows 10, I think Windows 10 automatically applies compatibility settings. But I installed OpenRCT, it's a better experience.
I still have it downloaded, so I can't check it in my library, can you look in your payment history, found it there too: https://i.imgur.com/0uy78nd.png
And here is the url: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.atari.mobile.rctc
Here is the play store link
and the forum link
You can see that here, just scroll down.
After the initial bug with starting the game, which was fixed right away, I haven't encountered any crashes.
What's GOG? I am asking about the physical CD-ROMs that can be bought on Amazon like this one
It's been some time, but check your play store account for uninstalled games. You'll find the old version there. Maybe this link might as well work for you.
(they made the game free in 2019, then pulled it from the app store and relisted it again)
You could also buy an external DVD drive. I don't know what country you're in, but they certainly aren't that expensive.

RCT was released in 1999.
Someone must have ported RCT into a flash based game by now and then uploaded it to the web. I just know it.
EDIT: If you have an iPhone, iPad or Android phone/tablet, try Funpark Friends.
RCT2 doesn't exactly have a sandbox mode, but it does have a scenario creator where you can add whatever rides and scenery you want (up to some certain limits). Many people have pre-fabricated large empty "workbenches" for this over the years, some NCSO but many CSO. Here is a good place to start. The popular way to play RCT2 these days is OpenRCT2 which adds a lot of QOL improvements to the game. This more seamlessly blends the features of the scenario editor with the normal game so it is easier to add or remove rides or scenery objects as needed. There has recently been a new save format pushed to the development branch which raises or eliminates many of these caps, but it is still experimental.
RCT3 does have a dedicated sandbox which automatically has all rides and scenery unlocked and no money. But it is a 20 year old 3D game which hasn't aged as well as its sprite-based predecessors. Soaked! and Wild! add a fair amount of complexity - if you go this route, I'd recommend playing through the scenarios first to understand what the needs are for pools and animal enclosures.
OpenRCT2 is generally considered the best version of the game right now, it's a fan version of RCT1 + RCT2 with the best aspects of both and a ton of QOL stuff.
If you're looking for 3D then RCT3 is definitely the best 3D game in the RCT series, though Planet Coaster might be better depending on what you're looking for. I believe Planet Coaster is free on PS5 right now too if you have PS+.
