Good on you for pointing this out. They're using the images from the listing on ebay. For the future I'd recommend using something like Privacy for online purchases. Definitely not for this but for other purchases it would keep your actual cards safe.

My idea was to use federated servers. Similar to Nextcloud's federation.
My thoughts for how the game play would look is like mixing Eve Online systems with custom No Man's Sky planets. And each planet can be customized by the host to look and play however they want.
This was just a random thought I had a few days ago. I don't have the resources or know-how to be able to create something like this. Maybe sometime in the future I will. :)

It has a similar premise to Ready Player One - a dead tech genius who has left an AI behind to continue his legacy. It's a much more intense thriller, and more hard sci-fi than Ready Player One. The sequel - Freedom, is also great.
And yes, Ready Player Two is worth reading...if you're looking for something similar to Ready Player One it's the closest and most obvious thing to read.

Just some info for anyone looking for first editions- (apologies for those who already know all this) ;)
The two paperbacks on the left are the advanced readers copies (also known as ARCs or galleys) that reviewers (and librarians, like myself) get from publishers to create advance buzz, review for professional journals, and also for collection development purposes. They're usually the hardest to find and can jump in price depending on how the published book does. I can't tell you how much I wish I had gotten one of these back in the day! They're getting harder to find as publishers move to digital arcs.
The true "first edition" is the hardcover on the far right. But it doesn't stop there! To have a true first edition, first printing, you need to flip to the copyright page. There you'll want to look for 2 things:
1) The words First Edition
AND
2) The full Line Sequence in one of the following ways:
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10
10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1
1 3 5 7 9 10 8 6 4 2
This means you have a first edition, first printing of a title. Even if it says "First Edition" you might have a later printing, like in this example:
First edition
3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10
You'd have the 3rd printing of the first edition.

More interestingly, IMHO, the engine that Zork was written in has continued in development as an open-source project called Inform7, meaning that you can write your own Zork-style games.

I've wondered about this as well. George R.R. Martin wrote a novel in 1983 called The Armageddon Rag where he made extensive use of song lyrics. The book opens with something like fifteen pages of references to all the permissions he had to get (and pay for!) to use the lyrics.
Check out the Amazon Preview. Even though they removed a bunch of the permissions pages from the preview it still runs on and on for several pages. Crazy. (The book also sold poorly, FWIW.) He also talks about when they tried to reissue the book in the mid-2000s they found out a bunch of the permissions had expired, and had to be re-licensed.
I guess what Cline did was fair use in the sense that it was mostly descriptive rather than directly quoting song lyrics or movie dialog or similar...but I'm pretty sure during the War Games "playthrough" quite a bit of dialog was directly quoted. (Don't have the book at hand to confirm.) I'm sure Cline's publisher's attorney vetted the book for that sort of thing, dunno.
