Yes, you have to download software.
For Windows - go to the website and install.
For Mac- follow this Acestream for mac guide.
Once it's setup it's simple to use, just paste in the URL into the appropriate place. The Mac guide above goes through what you need to do to start using streams also.
ESPN app is actually working quite well. It casts to Chromecast. I don't like the search and navigation though. E.g. a query for "New Zealand" is associated with Cricket :-(
But, for 4.99 per month you get full Superugby, rugby championship (former tri nations) and many other matches. Worth it for me!

NordVPN get geoblocked pretty aggressively. Especially from BBC, ITV and Channel 4 streaming services.

Easiest set up I've ever done. Clicked on the link to play an acestream, downloads an extra extension, and its done.
Fuck me im angry. Live in Austria, buy amazon Prime to watch Scotland play. Turns out that amazon isnt offering the match in this reason. Cool, ill just buy a new ExpressVPN and use Amazon UK. Amazon kicks up a stink trying to get me to confirm location change. Fine. Head to Prime Video on and the fucking link wont work. Absolute joke.
Is anyone else having trouble with the NordVPN and ITV? NordVPN said they're having trouble with their streaming service and have technicians working on it... and that it should be resolved by the end of the week...
Thanks, this helped me figure out a way to watch on mobile. Here's my setup:
