If your laptop is overheating, might want to buy a laptop cooling fan to put under it. I have this one and it's been helpful for my little old compy that gets super warm

My processor fan went wonky awhile back and I've been too lazy to replace it. My Sims, like yours, is not enjoying the summer months and lack of processor cooling.

I've resorted to running Open Hardware Monitor in the background, checking it occasionally to make sure my temperatures aren't too high.

I've been noticing problems when the processor gets up to around 70°C, so try to shut down the system and let it cool whenever it gets anywhere near that hot.

If that doesn't help, I personally don't know what would, but there is a subreddit called r/sims2help, you could look over there and ask for help.

You can try using the no-CD.exe. Put it in your installation location > Sims 2 > Fun with Pets > SP9 > TSBin. Right click on the .exe and choose create shortcut. Send it to your desktop. Load the game with that.

No problem, I have to say I've never seen this version of the open with... dialog box! What you want to choose is search through Windows, and then navigate to notepad in C:\Windows\System32 if there is a browse option. If you're struggling to do that, take a picture of what comes up after choosing search through Windows so I can direct you further. You can use this site to upload the image and share the link with me, so you don't have to create another thread. :)

may i recommend you lightshot for screenshotting? you'll need to put the game into windowed mode for lightshot to work.

The graphics are glitchy though NGL, but so far it doesn't crash and it's supporting my CC ...so I guess it's okay for now haha
