Dude, skateboarding isn't about tricks, it's just part of it. I'm 40 this year and I'm just getting back into it (broken ankle, head). I've spent most of my working life around pro skateboarders, yeah, that shit's intimidating. Try and find a bunch of fellas that have a laugh when they skate, good or bad, they're out there. Never give up buddy. Here's a recent video of me, I can't even pop. ;) https://vimeo.com/27553069
Apparently you've never skated NYC. Jokes aside, embrace it man. Small companies who sponsor pro riders with an emphasis on style over skill are blowing up and its awesome. Watch this for a good laugh. Then watch this and get hyped
So this is from a contest in sweden called Vert Attack that they have every year. It seems instead of a spin to win contest like most xgames vert contest, this one is straight up gnarly tricks all day long just like this sacktap. You can watch the whole thing here https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2jmcqb_vert-attack-9-pro-am-final_sport
Anyone here who knows how to setup a node server with mongodb wanna join us make our skatespots app? Ours is better than the Skatespots app in the App Store :D
We just started working on it. We've sketched quite some ideas already and might be nearing finalizing sketches/blueprint for the app. Our backend guy has been on and off lately due to some matters. He'll be back. We'd be so stoked though if we don't have to wait for him for us to continue working on the app.
Here's our features list: https://trello.com/b/Hd5Diju1
Thanks! :D
I think smaller companies are pushing style over skill and thats where you will see this trend. Maybe this video Skating is very self aware.
Can confirm: I have this same table. Doesn't work https://instagram.com/p/my5SfdRuxz/
Edit: oops, his instagram is private. Direct link to video file https://scontent-sjc.cdninstagram.com/hphotos-xfp1/t50.2886-16/10267398_1477927015755115_206156666_n.mp4
I am going to add as much footage of him that I can find.
This one will have you wondering how he is still skating ~0:27
Go hang out at the embarcadero and skate a bit . I usually hit it up every day after work as I work 2 blocks up from it. There is a pretty regular crew of dudes I hang with there and they are pretty friendly and know the city well. There are all the really well known blown out spots that you can hit up too, though they are usually harder to skate that you would assume (ie, 3up3down at the kink.com building, etc). There is Potrero skatepark over near the mission. There are a lot of places in the East Bay that are pretty fun. If you can get out there, the plaza in Richmond is really nice. Berkeley Skatepark. The Youth Uprising Plaza in East Oakland. North of San Francisco in Mill Valley is a surf/skate shop called prooflab. They have an indoor facility that you usually have to pay to skate, though thursday nights you can show up and there are usually a bunch of people there skating after hours. Pretty friendly crew there as well. I wish wasteland and boardertown were still around. They were both really awesome DIY parks in Oakland, but they were bulldozed last year :(
Just finished studying for an exam. Sorry for the late response. I'm uploading it now to mediafire.
edit: 2big4mediafire so im going to put it in another zip and compress it some more. Or find another place to upload it to.
edit: Found a place that will allow me to upload a file the size that it is. I'm getting it up now.

After a quick google search I found a couple online stores. All the boards are going for around $75 though.
He's still around. I grew up skating with him and the Carroll brothers and everyone else on the SF scene in the late 80s and early 90s. I was friends with Jovantae on Facebook, but he deleted it a few months ago. I don't think Mike has a FB, but his brother Greg does:
I loved those long days at EMB. Even though it's been almost 2 decades since I skated there regularly, I can still feel the vibration of those bricks under my wheels. Thanks for the flashback.
These are numbers straight from the IASC (International association od skateboard companies)
No bullshit here
also SGMA studies says theres about 12 million US skaters back in '04
looks awesome, cant watch the whole thing right now because im at work, but i totally recognize the pool from the hovey house. we rented that house a few years ago with a bunch of people from pink crack, totally had a blast that weekend. i'm not a filmer nor do i have any editing skills but i put together a little clip just for fun. you might see some familiar faces https://vimeo.com/17034270
guessing you're in the UK because of your chosen form of currency, but in Best Buy used to sell these little cheaper fisheye lenses for camcorders that ran about $50 IRC in the States. Something like these:
I have always had really weird kickflips and I just want to change them now, I am consistent and can do pretty much all the basic flip tricks alright its just this one I struggle with? Any help is appreciated.
I'm the slo mo skater if you didn't know

I've used the oil that comes with an electric shaver most of the time... but only because I've had it sitting around for so long. It works pretty darn well I'd say.
edit: To quote this page: http://www.instructables.com/id/Clean-and-Grease-your-Skateboard-Bearings/step5/Grease-and-re-seal/ "Bike grease is fine. Marine grease will work. Silicone or lithium grease? Sure. Molybdenum grease? Overkill, but if you've got some lying around the house, you can use it. "
You could always just pour one yourself, it wouldn't be that hard. You could even do it on location.
Just put together a mold with wood, and pour some cement in there. Let it harden overnight, and pop it out the next day. I'm sure there's some kind of grinder to smooth out the edges, but you're probably looking at 3 or 4 hours works and a nights wait.

You may already know about them. I don't personally know the owner but my buddy is good friends with him and the board he got is F'n sweet!
My wife and I got in to skating last month! I personally recommend getting cruiser style wheels. We got two boards one with big soft wheels (cruiser), one with small hard wheels (trick). And the cruiser wheels are by FAR the most enjoyable to learn on. After poking around on various forums, I found that you really don't want hard wheels until you are ready to start doing some serious tricks (you can still do some tricks on soft wheels too)
I just grabbed some of these Bigfoots (they arrive today) to replace my hard wheels. Look for something with a low ish (generally 75a to 85a) durometer (hardness rating) this will allow the board to go over rougher surfaces, bumps, etc with ease. (you will still stop dead on a rock, so keep your eyes on the road, lol) What is important in the beginning is to make just riding around an enjoyable experience. Once you have developed good balance and pushing skills and can roll around without thinking about it, then switch in to harder wheels when you are ready to start hitting the skate park.
Poking around the forums it doesn't look like brand matters all that much, as long as it's a real brand and not generic or knock off shit.
If you want to know my impressions on the bigfoots when they arrive let me know, lol.
It's probably the bearings. I'd suggest you take out the bearings and clean them with some kind of bearing cleaner and lubricant. You could get bones speed cream, or something similar to that. I left Amazon links below. https://www.amazon.com/Bones-Swiss-Skate-Speed-Cleaning/dp/B00IOZ02JW?keywords=bearing+lube&qid=1533586168&sr=8-6&ref=mp_s_a_1_6
I'm 49 and I do every time I skate. I bought some off Amazon, they're for in-line skating/skiing/skateboarding. They have definitely saved me from bad hippers.
Roslyn (or technically Patrick Kerr Memorial) skatepark in Abington. It's a few miles north of Philadelphia in the suburbs.
once he invents this many tricks then people can think about comparing him to Mullen, but I still think it's no contest. Mullen has done so much for skating; he practically invented the skating we see today. He will forever be the best not only due to his style, but due to his elegance and his creativity, as well.
Skater Trainers I found these really helpful to me to practice stationary and not worry about the board flying out from under me while learning something new

We have a mountain in the state I live in which has the worst weather in the world. Mt. Washington in New Hampshire is nuts. Always nice for spring snowboarding though. Enjoy your heat. I like it here because you can always put more layers on but can only take so many off haha
I have been skateboarding for about 5 years, but I am just getting kickflips. I think one of the main things that is holding me back is the fear of falling. What can I do to help me build up confidence? And speaking of kickflips, I need help making them cleaner. This is what mine look like now. How can I clean it up?
i peeped some of your durham footy, specifically that indoor park. forget what it's called... ydg?
i used to live in nc and did a lot of filming
archived a lot of the videos at: https://vimeo.com/skatenc/videos
By the looks of things it's a Powell Peralta Mike McGill Skull & Snake deck of some kind with a load of stickers and/or custom paint over the top.
They were shown on the 23:50-04:00 overnight BBC1 broadcast, so on iPlayer it's available here:

But they didn't show the last of the four preliminary qualifier as part of that broadcast. I'm not sure if they showed that on the Red Button broadcast.
Recently finished and released a zine that I make once a year. Decided to do a feature article on my mate and go out and take some good shots.
You can see the zine in full here - http://issuu.com/oscarfehlberg/docs/think.sans_issue_03.
Skip ahead to page 13 if you just want to check out the skate article.
Critiques on the images are also welcome. Taken with a 500D, 50mm 1.8, 11-16mm 2.8 and a really shitty flash with cactus triggers.
That's probably because some people have had bad falls that broke their arm above the wrist guard. It happens, can transfer the force to a different location...
...but in FOOSH (fall on outstretched hand) injuries, you have a better chance of sliding off the plastic guard of a wrist guard. That's what you always want with pads, not absorbing the impact but sliding and your momentum being slowed not stopped suddenly through your body. Helmets are different for obvious reasons.
I bought these wrist guards designed by an orthopedic surgeon that are cool because they HAVE the ability to flex. They are a step above the old school wrist guards people have been wearing since the late 70s. Yeah, they are 80 bucks but with my deductible my out of pocket expense for the surgery was 5 grand. Each physical therapy session was 60 bucks and I went to them twice a week for a year. In my opinion, there around be no expense spared on protective equipment since even the most Gucci shit is nothing compared to serious medical bills.
IDK if this is the right place to ask, but does anyone know how much the Shaun White Core Green skateboard is worth? I can't find any anywhere, and was curious if I own a rare board.
Hey All!
I'm a Masters student doing research into action sports related concussions and would really appreciate if you could take the time to fill in a short survey.
It would be greatly appreciated!

I don't know who, but it was a 15 year old kid for a gang initiation. The shooter was caught and sent to jail for 35 years. He was shot in an ally off of Beaconsfield road and Harper Ave, in Harper Woods, at least that is what a quick internet search pulled up. Also here is satellite view of it, though I do not know how accurate it is.
Carving is the best.
OP : this is the best explanation I could find on carving http://www.ehow.com/how_2318595_carve-skateboarding-bowl.html
Watch how others do it. Ask for tips from whoever is skating the bowl well and looks supportive of your efforts.

Hi guys! I'm tall 1.95 CM and i have the 43 EU of shoes. I've recently bought the following skateboard: https://www.amazon.it/gp/product/B08W32VC36 - Wheel: 55MM 85A PU (ABEC 11) - Board: Hikole 31 "x 8"
Once my friend that have a little more knowledge than me have tried it, he tell me that my skateboard is more difficult to run than the one that he have. Comparing the two skateboards, I've found the following difference: - My wheels are bigger than the other skate - My wheels are more soft than the other skate - My truck are "higher" than the other skate (this means that I'm more far from the ground) - My board is steeper at the ends than the other skate.
Now, i don't have enough knowledge in order to understand what to modify from the skate that i've bought, but my questions (as the title) is: Which is a skateboard (maybe already built or that have to be built manually) that it's fit better with me that I'm 1.95 cm tall and i dress a 43 EU shoes? My purpose is to perform "trick" on street (ollie/grind/kickflip/pop shove it) and RARELY run on a ramp.
OK i think i know the godox one. So maybe something like this then:
https://www.amazon.com/Flashpoint-XPLOR-Battery-Powered-Monolight-Adapter/dp/B07JQ7DSN6
Hmm.. They call them "monolights". And also, they are TTL. I feel like maybe these are a bit of a different beasts than the most typical "outdoor strobes". Like lumedyne. Man, this whole area is so vast, really, and there are really a bunch of different ways of working.
They can print whatever they want on it, the date in the copyright stamp doesnt matter.
As others have said, the reissued decks have “The Original” instead of Gonz’s name, ironically enough. Search a little online and you will see reissues with the 1986 date and the same text. Look for any actual originals and you will see the difference.
Not to mention I got that same Bones sticker in a set of bearings like 5 years ago, and I doubt anyone in their right mind would sticker up an original Gonz deck. Maybe, but I doubt it.
It's already been made! Gulf wax! It's a super refined parafin wax. https://www.amazon.ca/Gulf-Wax-Household-Paraffin-Pound/dp/B07G88LDV8
Note! I don't buy it from Amazon. Our local hardware store carries it.
Aside from just using your feet, there are skid plates. We all used them in the 80s, but you don't see them much any more. You screw it onto the bottom of the tail, then then press down on the tail with your back foot while you're moving to skid to a stop.
These are the super low profile ones I wear when I skate street or cruise: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IS6KP30/
They're thick enough that I'm confident they would prevent chipping the bone or scraping my skin if I fell, but I'd still have a hell of a bruise. It's soft padding only and no plastic. However, they're invisible and super comfortable.
For normal sized pads for transition or new tricks I'd go with the 187 Fly: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MUGAYXL/
Does this look like a cruiser board? I’m trying to get my younger sister into skating but not as in doing tricks and stuff but just for cruising. Right now I only have 50$ and she also really likes the design. I also know that it doesn’t have bearings so I’ll probably buy Reds Bearings.
If that’s not a good board what cruiser board do you recommend? Or I’m also thinking of just buying a 7.75 deck and then buying the parts itself. By the way I have a 7.75 deck and I want to put cruiser wheels on it. What kind of feels should I put on it. The skateboard I have is a 7.75 ATM Neon
Neon Beach 7.75" Skateboard Complete from ATM. 7-ply maple construction. Slight concave, no wheel wells. 120mm Blacksmith trucks. ATM brand wheels. ATM Abec 5 Fast As Hell bearings. Standard grip tape applied to top. Width: 7.75". Length: 31". Wheelbase: 14".

Does this look legit to y'all?
No doubt! Pair it up with one of these and you can hit any spot at night: PowerSmart Generator, Super Quiet Generator, 2200... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0843JZY3W/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_api_glt_fabc_CJEY8D9AXXH22RA7TSCC?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I’ve used something similar to this for years:
Woods WL40272S Portable LED Duel Work Light On Steel Tripod, 12000 Lum... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D5R9WH5/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_api_glt_fabc_WGVG444MPQW3VBF6G2Z0
Hi guys, I'm 5, 10in and have a shoe size of US 10.5 . I was looking at this board to purchase because I thought the old school look and the graphic of the board looked really neat. I also always wanted a Santa Cruz board which is why I wanted to pick up this one. I just want to know if the board size will fit me alright and if there will be any issues if I get this board.
Context - I am a novice skateboarder and have been using a "$100 off of Amazon" longboard for approx. two years, on and off. Finally figured out how to kick and such, now looking to increase my speed and master carving. To this purpose, I just now got around to replacing the no-name trucks with Gullwing Sidewinder IIs (love them); I also went ahead and swapped out the bearings with Reds Big Balls (reused original wheels on account of them still being in good condition).
However, for some reason that I no longer remember clearly, I elected to use Sta-Plex red grease rather than a speed cream-type product within the bearings (I think that I possibly read somewhere online to do this if expecting to skate in the rain, etc). I noticed immediately when spinning the wheels by hand to test them after that two adjacent wheels were not spinning at the same speed despite seeming to have the same axle adjustment - I possibly put more grease inside the bearings that are running slower as well - to be honest I was literally just dabbing globs of it into each bearing; did not register at the time that there was more to this part of the process!
So, did I mess up here? Should I go ahead and grab some new wheels / bearings + something like this (applied consistently in the recommended "2 drops per bearing" proportion) and relegate the Sta-Plex wheels for when I for some reason want to skate in the rain? I have been looking at the SharkWheels already so this would be a good excuse to make the plunge for them (presuming the 95mm 78a 's ever come back to the market)... Or are there some other considerations that I should be making around my specific trucks, which I understand are squarely on the "unique / specialized" front?
Hello! Still an novice when it comes to skating and im been interested in parts lately and was wondering if anyone can answer a couple questions i have about bushings.
thanks in advance if anyone answers sorry for the many questions
I got this to lube my bearings https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CVZO8NC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

But I just used it on my freshly cleaned bearings just 2 drops and now they are spinning slower then before I put the lube on
Honestly he's not anywhere near that point yet. He's never been on a board before, and I don't think he knows what he wants to do yet, so I am really looking for something good all around, but not great at anything. If he gets way into it we'll get something more tailored to what he wants to do.
He's about 5' and shoe size is a 3.
I ordered this one but it can go back:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07TMKRHCB
Let me know if it's a total piece of shit - appreciate all the advice here.
Something like this should be a good starter board, if he gets the complete later on, any skate shop employee will help you find the right parts
187 killer pads is a good brand, amazon has like a set of 187 pads for like $60, idk about helmets tho. I just wore the homies pads when learning to drop in and shit, they’re sick.
I was really liking some of the music, so I searched around and found out that the band I was digging was called The Lovely Bad Things. I ended up buying their album mp3s on amazon
Thanks for the post.
i did a shitty patch job but you can make yours look really nice the tape comes in many colors too
DC is still making some of those shoes from the late 90s, amazon has legacy 98s https://www.amazon.com/DC-Mens-Legacy-Skate-White/dp/B0798FS6FX/ref=sr_1_79?keywords=dc%2Bskate%2Bshoes&qid=1565844802&s=gateway&sr=8-79&th=1

Hey, so I just have a quick question if anyone could help me out. I’m a college student that wanted to get a pennyboard to get from class to class and generally just ride around on, nothing special. I haven’t skated ever in my life before, other than the old RipStiks that were the fad back in the day (I know it doesn’t count lol). I ordered a cheap pennyboard on amazon and didn’t know that pennyboard was an actual company and every other “pennyboard” is “fake”. I’ve linked what I bought below, and just wanna know if it was a good decision on me to get, and if there is a massive negative stigma against “fake pennies”. Thanks!
I've never heard of Eseewin, but that board looks pretty low-quality. Basically, that's your "supermarket skateboard". If you're willing to spend a little more, I spotted this complete on amazon fr: https://www.amazon.fr/Globe-Goodstock-Planche-Skateboard-10525351/dp/B07KSHX43C. Globe is a pretty solid brand. Tensor trucks are good entry-level trucks that you'll find on most cheaper complete boards. For a 9-year-old, the 7.75" size is great, but plenty of little kids ride 8, 8.5, or even 9" boards. If it's real, that's a good deal.
The average skateboard is probably between 100-200 euro. 80 is about the minimum, maybe 70 if you can find a really good clearance deal. Anything lower than that starts to get pretty bad.
Hi, I just bought an 8.18 size board and am confused about the size trucks I should get. I'm pretty sure that this set is the correct size, but i dont wanna have to repurchase trucks and stuff, huge hassle.
I would appreciate any advice, thanks!

If you can get a pair of kitchen pants, try them. Like they slide on concrete rather than tear, they're cheap to replace, supreme flexibility and they got that classic baggy look. I used to work in a kitchen and have a shit ton and it's what I usually wear if it's not too hot out.
Hey, when it works it works!
If you want to grab a lot of clips solo? I suggest investing in an octopus leg mini-tripod. Something like this for example.
You can get some really cool shots by attaching the fucker to a railing or something if grinding, or get it pretty much anywhere otherwise.
Also nice to just flip upside down, crook it about halfway, and what do you know, you immediately have a passable filmer grip to get low rolling shots of someone else!
When looking for one of these, the longer the legs, the better. It just means more versatility, but they're small enough to always sling in a bag side pocket or something.
For the wrists regular wrists guards, the ankle is tough though. You could wear some sort of light brace something like this one or a heavier duty one , I'm not sure how built up you need to go to. It's also not common to wear these as a means of prevention but it's the only thing I can think of. A problem with them too is that they prevent the ankle from strengthening over time so you might want to consider doing some reading into ankle strengthening and proprioception work like they do in physio as a proactive/maintenance kind of thing. There isn't a lot of talk about this kind of thing so you might want to talk to a physio or something, you will have to do some more research. Unfortunately skateboarding is just one of those things that isn't a great idea if you absolutely can't get hurt for work, it's not super common to be out for more then a few weeks but it happens and smaller injuries which can take you out for a few days will eventually happen at some point.
Hi guys, I'm after some advice.
I've always wanted to learn to skate and recently I've lost a lot of weight (16 stone down to 13) so finally feel confident enough to give it a go. I'm an 'older skater' I guess 25 years old.
I'm looking for a good beginner board, but don't want to break the bank (in case I don't fall in love with it). I'm in the UK so there's really not make skate shops around so I'm limited to online.
I've found this Osprey one on Amazon, do you guys think it's any good? If not, is there any alternatives you know of, under the £40 mark?
Thanks!
Not sure if this is the right place since these are longboard brands..? So I apologize in advance but any help would be appreciated
I'm generally new to skating and I want to buy one for getting around campus. I'm not too interested in the huge longboards, so I've been looking at small cruiser ones https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00O2GIGGI/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A2NUV9C3MO3CNC&psc=1 (White Wave's Rocket) or https://www.zumiez.com/sector-9-bambino-wilderness-27-quot-cruiser-complete-skateboard.html (Sector 9's Bambino) Although I'm not yet comfortable riding around a group of people yet, I can still manage to get around.
Is there anything you guys can suggest for a newbie like me? Any other boards you would recommend around this price range? Thanks!
I'd say that herd mentality may have been a factor, especially when it comes to downvotes, but I also think that most people, especially the people who commented instead of just voting, genuinely hold the opinion that there's metal on metal, because I also genuinely hold that opinion. I don't think the proof you think is indisputable is indisputable. I don't think it's any more conclusive than the sound the sound you can hear in the instagram clip, which lead me to the opposite conclusion as you. I also don't think it's impossible for the wheel and truck to both touch the fence, particularly if the wheel is touching the top of the fence and the truck is touching the side of the fence that is opposite the camera (and therefore cannot be confirmed either way). When you do crooks you put the very edge of the truck on the rail or ledge and pinch it to the board (hence why Jamie Foy is called the pinch god) and the pinch makes it so that the truck is not parallel with the ground or board, but rather titled at an angle, which makes it possible for both the wheel and truck to be on the ledge or rail.
For real this might sound douchey of me, but if you have the time I'd recommend reading or listening to the audiobook of The Republic by Plato, just because Socrates models this awesome way of disagreeing and having a dialogue. I think everyone should read it, but it seems really helpful for when you're disillusioned because everyone seems like a douche.
No other way to get a set up? Are you too remote where that shop's the only way to get one? I know some people are, but if you can order online there are decent boards available.
I got a rebel t3 off of ebay for like 120 bucks and it works pretty well but if you have the budget def. get the t3i. as for recording audio i just use a shotgun mic off of amazon. i also have this handle thing https://www.amazon.com/Stabilizing-Stabilizer-Fujifilm-Panasonic-Camcorder/dp/B01IFM8ZI8/ref=pd_lpo_vtph_421_tr_t_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=407PR9Z5AW9XHT8KHXSJ
Could anybody shed some light on good parts that are available on Amazon? I have a gift card and wanna pick up some stuff. I have a deck with new griptape - so I guess I need trucks/wheels/bearings?
If there is a complete set that is pretty good for beginners I would probably go with that. For instance, I was thinking about something like this
I guess it depends on how big your 4 year old is. My 6 year old is getting use to a 28 like what is linked above but i started my 3.5 year old on one of these. https://www.amazon.com/Powell-Peralta-Ripper-Complete-Skateboard/dp/B01ID1OGWU/ref=sr_1_34?ie=UTF8&qid=1500577468&sr=8-34&keywords=powell+mini+deck
downsides are no nose, its made in china, but wheels are powell minis and trucks arnt total trash. at this point im just getting her accustom to riding/pushing. the quality is much better than a walmart/toysrus board.
I waxed my wheel wells after this, so it's better, but man, wheelbite is horrible.
I skate loose trucks and my cruiser has these big soft Bones Rough Riders wheels.
I was at the hospital for hours. Apparently I've broken my hand and wrist several times before, but didn't get it checked out. Hrm.
Getting back into riding bowls and vert. I need pads cause I slammed my knee pretty hard a while ago. I'm looking at these on amazon and I almost feel ashamed asking if these are quality pads because of their price.... what do you guys think? Again I'm still noob, not catching any air but I do want something that can take an impact cause I'm starting to go faster.

Hi I'm looking to get into skateboarding I have a pair of adidas NEO Daily sneakers

I'm wondering if these would be okay for skateboarding, thanks
Depends on the shape and size of the deck, wheels, and what you're comfortable with. Welcome Skateboards has a bunch of odd shaped decks and they have footage in anything from bowls to stair sets. So you can, but it's going to come down to preference.
I have a Sector 9 Swellhound that I got for cheap (like it was cheaper to buy the complete than cruiser wheels, bearings, and risers). It's marketed as an cruiser and commuter board, and once you swap the wheels you can skate tranny and street with it. I already have a street setup already, and the idea of skating tranny is already scary before you factor in the idea of skating fakie on that shape (the tail is pretty steep). So Idk if I'd go that route, but so people are into that shit.
Recently bought this (its bad, i know i know) and i want to buy some decent bearings bc the ones it has are pretty shit. Don't know much about skateboards but i use these for my longboard. Will they work the same or are there other things i should look for?
Is there any kind of skateboard wall mount solution? Tried googling it and I could only find permanent deck mounts, like if you want to hang a deck for art purposes.
I want to just store my board on the wall so its out of the way when I'm not skating. https://www.amazon.com/StoreYourBoard-SYB-SH-Skateboard-Hanger/dp/B00A9X94LO
I saw that but frankly it looks ugly to me
Not exactly what you are looking for but there is a great photobook about skate photography around the world and some shorter stories about different countries and how they adapted to skateboarding and such.
This is the pole I use...you could just use your phone with it if you don't want the close-up action shots. Again, with the pole the video turns out much less shakey.

From my experience and others Vans don't seem to hold up for very long, even if you're not skating in them. Currently I'm skating in Adidas Busenitz but I can't see them lasting for very long (although they skate really well)
I've never skated in high tops so I can't help you in that department. Off the top of my head the only high or mid top I can think of is the Emerica Hsu G6. From what I've heard Emerica shoes skate really well and can last for a while.
Amazon sells $40 complete setups. Like this: https://www.amazon.com/KPC-Pro-Skateboard-Complete-Ace/dp/B004UOL6AA?ie=UTF8&ref_=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top
I'd assume they skate as well as you need if you at least replace the bearings. Maybe wheels too. Maybe try that board I linked with these: https://www.amazon.com/BlueBallz-Premium-Skateboard-Bearings-Lubricated/dp/B00EDO62GA/ref=sr_1_5?s=outdoor-recreation&ie=UTF8&qid=1466533551&sr=1-5&keywords=skateboard+bearings&refinements=p_n_feature_keywords_browse-bin%3A4583...
I do a bit of photo and video. Of course I also skate. I've been looking for a backpack to combine the two, specifically a way to carry the gear around. So a DSLR bag with skateboard straps. I've managed to find one that looks nice but it's $150.
Does anyone know of other DSLR bags with skateboard straps? Or have a decent way of adding straps to a DSLR bag? I guess the next best thing is to get a decent skateboard backpack and add one of these.
hey guys i am trying to get into skating as the weather is starting to warm up and snowboarding is winding down. would this be a decent board to get for a beginner? Thanks. http://www.amazon.com/Mini-Logo-Skateboard-112-K-12/dp/B00C7X2M54/ref=sr_1_13?s=outdoor-recreation&ie=UTF8&qid=1456846001&sr=1-13&keywords=skateboard+complete&refinements=p_89%3AMini-Logo
You said you bought the cheapest DSLR so assuming you want a fairly low budget fisheye without comprising quality so I would recommenced the Opteka 6.5 mm fisheye. I have personally owned this lens and can attest to its ability to shoot skateboarding, and also this thing is tank. I have smacked it clean off my camera body and it still is going strong. Its on sale right now for $100 off too.
I'm looking into getting an entry level setup for filming, what would you guys recommend? I want to go for something that's easy to get nice angles with something akin to this I've only filmed with a nikon l810 which felt really clunky and took a lot of work to get clips to look decent.
Im a newbie to skating, wondering what type of board would be best? I'd rather not spend huge amount as skateboard prices are slightly inflated where I live (UK) but I don't want to have to replace the board 6 months down the line. Was thinking of getting this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Element-04CP1Z-Complete-Skateboard-Section/dp/B007ZZXJDI/
Thoughts?
These are meant to fit under snowboard gloves, so they're pretty slim profile but don't offer the greatest protection. I wear em whenever I have a nagging palm bruise that won't go away due to repeated impacts.
is this any good for cruising? just for getting from point a to point b
Would these shoes last at all? i feel like the rubber outsole might be okay to skate in. what do you guys think?

I'm just going to ask here again since I didn get an answer, is this a good skateboard?
It has free shipping and ships to Croatia, where skateboards are much pricier, so I'm wondering how good it is since it would be my first skateboard and I don't know much about it.
Also, I weight about 90 kg, could it handle my weight? I do a lot of cycling and such so I'm not completely out of shape and am working on loosing weight, just don't want to break it too fast...
