I use NordVPN and never had any issues. Before that, I used expressvpn and I had the same problems. Personally, express wouldn't be my VPN choice.
In addition to the Best Buy in wall power kit, there are a couple options for hiding the HDMI cable and any other low voltage wiring.
Easiest option will probably be 2 plastic low volt rings and 2 scoops. Cut in the rings behind your tv and behind the cabinet, fish the wires, install the scoops. They can go in or out of the wall, facing up or down.

From Sonos founder Tom Cullen: "Sonos, which Cullen says in 2012 became the world's second biggest speaker manufacturer by revenue (after Bose, and ahead of Bowers & Wilkins)." Source: https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2013/feb/18/sonos-soundbar-home-theatre-system
By the way, their revenue today is more than three times what it was in 2012.
Edit: according to their CEO, Bowers & Wilkins revenue last year was about $170 million. Source: https://www.theguardian.com/business/2015/aug/29/soft-spoken-b-and-w-owner-turns-up-sound-for-speaker-firm
By comparison, Sonos' revenue last year was about $1 billion. People really underestimate Sonos' position in the market. It's funny that people think Sonos is going to be swallowed by bigger audio companies. Sonos IS the big fish.
Alright for anyone wondering:
Although sonos says "unavailable in your country" this is simply not true.
What you need to do is:
This will effectively let you use Alexa, no need to change your country or anything, but Alexa doesn't have all its feature if you aren't in its supported country (such as geolocated stuff)
Shoutout to this link where I found my answer: https://en.community.sonos.com/amazon-alexa-and-sonos-229102/sonos-one-voice-control-for-sonos-is-not-supported-in-your-country-yet-6791435
There’s the Enterprise Developer Program and then there’s TestFlight . I don’t know the specifics but all the news articles have covered Facebook and Google’s use of the former to side-step App Store restrictions for publically distributed apps. Presumably Sonos is using the latter to beta test publicly an app that will still go through App Store approval which is allowed by the Terms of Use.
There is no supported way to do this. With that said, you could look at the open source airsonos and something like this http://osxdaily.com/2012/08/01/stream-all-mac-system-audio-over-airplay-os-x/ to push l audio over airplay to airsonos.
This will create a considerable delay in audio though.
if you wanted the stereo pair it has to match the current unit you have.
I used this project to get the album art / info. https://www.hackster.io/mark-hank/sonos-album-art-on-raspberry-pi-screen-5b0012
Requires a separate setup, but it beats relying on Sonos to do it.
I was having this problem, and what fixed it for me was disabling the Sonos Skill, then enabling the Sonos Skill on a PC browser instead of through the Alexa app. Once you've enabled the skill, go to 'Smart Home', then 'Devices', then click on 'Discover' and link the speaker that way. After I did that, it started working properly :)
I use Xpenology which is a way to install the Synology OS on any machine. I put together my own NAS using a low-power CPU and a case that fits a lot of hard drives. I love it. Mainly because the Synology OS is good. You can install lots of packages on it and if you know Linux you can manually configure/install things.
For example I use subsonic which allows streaming over the web, but also ties in nicely with Sonos at home.
For TV we have a media PC running OpenELEC which I also highly recommend.
I use a combination of MusicBrainz Picard http://picard.musicbrainz.org and Album Art Downloader for anything rare. Works well. The latter can search and scrape over 100 sources, so it generally comes up with the goods.
I use these. Along with some small zip ties and a little bit of double sided tape. You can hide nearly everything, if you want that super clean look. I don't think your cables are that bad though.
Here's the Amazon smile link, they appear to be out of stock at the moment but it says be back soon (I literally just got mine in the mail today). It also comes in red, gray and blue!

I recently upgraded my TV to the CX and put a surround Arc-based system in, at that point (and price!) I took the opportunity to get rid of all of my 2.0 (or older) cables and replace them with 2.1s going forward.
I found this pack on Amazon so counted the cables I already had and bought the required amount of these so I could switch one in for everyone I removed from the system. It’s a little bit more money but gave me peace of mind and turned out to be quite cathartic.

I put in two surge protector outlets from my local Lowe’s and just passed the HDMI cord through a brush plate in the third gang. You could easily install an Ethernet jack there instead. It includes a plastic divider that lets you use one side for high voltage and the other for low voltage.
Why not speaker stands? They are the most flexible and will just disappear behind the couch. I have these, they are built fine. Just kind of disappear.
The converter you posted will not work. There are some 3.5mm jacks that are already optical. They have a small fiber that runs down the middle of the jack. That converter simply allows these optical 3.5mm plugs to plug in to a Toslink plug.
You need something like this (Amazon Canada link but you should be able to find it elsewhere if needed)
It would be pretty easy actually. You just need the Sonos beam wall mount. And a decent Vesa sound bar TV mounting bracket and flip them upside down to use the top set of Vesa hole on your tv. Since the beam is not that heavy. You don't even have to get a high gauge steel Vest soundbar TV mount. Just rest the bottom of the Beam mount on to of the TV to add stability. Any mount from Amazon with good rating will do. You might have to invest is some M6 nuts and bolt to attach the Sonos Beam mount to the soundbar TV mount.
If you want to get fancy with the portion of the beam on top of the TV. You can get this soundbar TV mount.
I just got this and it’s been working very well the last few days:

I just Googled "Sonos short cord" and this came up: https://www.amazon.com/Sonos-Short-Power-Cable-Play/dp/B07LGV3TN1/ref=asc_df_B07LGV3TN1/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=309770211034&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=17484802683571571143&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9010955&hvtargid=pla-635740462920&psc=1
I'm pretty certain the Arc and Beam use the same cord. Maybe someone here can confirm.
I was thinking something like this, maybe there are more shapes to find that might be more suitable
Confirm? No. But I think it has a high likelihood of working. You basically just need something that can hold at least 14 pounds, and that can present two 5mm screw holes 24 inches apart. That mount looks capable of both those things.
You’ll also have to provide a couple of M5 screws of 15-20mm length, if the mount doesn’t come with them. (It’d be super frustrating to get the Arc and the mount and not be able to attach them.)
By the way, when posting Amazon links, you don’t need anything beyond the “ref=” bit - the rest doesn’t matter to anyone else. And it’s more readable like this:

You can do this using Tasker in combination with Macronos. Macronos isn't free, but IMO it's easily powerful enough to justify spending $3.99 on it (I'm not the author, just a fan of it). There's more info about setting it up with Tasker here.
Edit: Upon further inspection, you can use wifi as a trigger within Macronos itself, so no need for Tasker at all. One of the features they list on the Play Store description: "Wi-Fi play - Starts playback when arriving home."
Or for Android users, can do PA mode with Macronos, which has a couple of other cool features like lowering volume automatically when you make or receive a phonecall, automatic play when connecting to your wifi network, etc.
I use Macronos to turn on music automatically when my phone connects to my home wireless. It also reduces the volume when the phone rings, which is nice.
Turning it off when you leave is a harder problem, I've got a script watching a log on my router for my phone's MAC address leaving the wireless network and using SoCo to stop whatever's playing.
I'd say that would be possible with something like homey as a full-blown kit, or with any standalone device supporting voice control. But you may need to script a few things then.
First of all use your SONOS app to create some "Favourites" these could be albums, playlists, radio stations, podcasts. For my example I'll create a playlist called "My Favorite Songs" Sign up to https://ifttt.com/ Add your SONOS account and your Google account (at minimum for this) Then you can create a new Applet For +this select Google Assistant and "Say a simple phrase" Enter your phrase "Listen to My Favourite Songs" For +that select SONOS and then "Play Favourite" and select "My Favourite Songs" from the drop down. For one SONOS it's simple, for multiple you can also select which SONOS and if to keep your group or ungroup, so you might want to do "Listen to my favourite songs on Kitchen SONOS" and have it's own applet. +That actions also include Skip to Next, Skip to Previous, Volume Up, Volume Down, Set Volume, Mute, Unmute, Pause, Resume but each one will need it's own Applet! It can get more complex than that, but that's the basics of it, I mainly have a selection of radio stations if I'm honest.
The SoCo command is just a slight edit to the example play_alert subroutine.
As for IFTTT, if I wanted to expose the HTTPS service to the Internet I could integrate it with their outbound Webhook caller, however I don't see any support for authenticated web requests from IFTTT?

$100 off right now. Stacked with some of the other promos in the thread linked above you can get this for close to the $500.
I own the playbar + sub and love it, but I would not pay full price for it. If I had to do over, I would bite on this promo.
It’s on the list for me. I don’t even use it but I just checked. Check again. It seems to be alphabetical.
Go to More -> Add Music Services and scroll down and you should see it. The Sirius website also says it is on Sonos.
I absolutely love 8tracks and although I understand the reasons for stopping the integration I just can't live without it.
So here's a solution I just got working 10 minutes ago:
* Go to: http://www.streamwhatyouhear.com/download/
* Download and install SWYH_1.3.exe
* In the taskbar, right click on the "Stream What You Hear 1.3" icon and select "Settings".
* Select "PCM/L16" (MP3 did not work for me)
* Check the checkbox next to "Use a specific HTTP port", default port 5901 (it's fine)
* Click OK
* Now right click again on the "Stream What You Hear 1.3" icon and select "Tools" -> "HTTP Live Streaming"
* Copy the URL (it looks something like http://192.168.1.31:5901/stream/swyh.mp3)
* Start SONOS
* Go to menu "Manage" and "Add a Radio station"
* Paste the URL in the Streaming URL edit box
* Make up a name for your personal broadcasting station :-)
* Click "Ok"
* Doubleclick on the newly added radiostation
* Start 8tracks and play your favourite playlists!
Do notice there is a lag of about 2.2 seconds.
Enjoy!
There’s a windows app for this called SWYH. This page seems to list Mac alternatives to this. Can’t vouch for any of them but it might be a good starting place.

Connection to the cloud is one thing. Sending unfiltered audio is another.
I went and got a link about your DNS claim, because I first read your unedited post. https://www.opendns.com/about/innovations/dnscrypt/
I'm curious why you believe that I lack technical understanding around what I said in my earlier comments.
I recently bought a Play:5 so I could cast things. I only had 1s and 3s prior so it was a bit of an investment just to close the gap but it worked.
Alternatively, if you have a line-in port you could try a Chromecast there, or maybe even building an RPi device that can play YTM would work? https://www.hackster.io/shiva-siddharth/youtube-music-streaming-for-google-assistant-on-raspberry-pi-cba841
I have a CR-200 as well as two Flic buttons and I'm happy that they work as well with Sonos as they do. I vastly prefer physical buttons over having to rely on my smartphone all the time.
Nice setup, looks amazing, not a fan of the Arc though, I currently have the PlayBar in my living room with 2 Play 1's and 2 Sub's and wouldn't trade it for anything, especially with it being all wireless, clean look and quality, plus the wife acceptance, if you would like to up the TV backlighting, have a look at the Govee Immersion, makes a hell of alot difference.

You would likely need some sort of HDMI-ARC selector switch if it exists. 2 or more ARC ports to a single HDMI-ARC out. Amazon may have something that fits the bill for $94 today https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Z4PZMLP/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_R5S689DSC104GDJBY5FT
I don't see why this wouldn't work with the Sonos Arc... if the switch is controlled by a toggle or remote.
Obligatory FYI - In the US it is against electrical code to run power cables in walls. “Correct” way to do it is mount an outlet behind your Arc or TV (I use these) using proper Romex cable in the wall cavity. No problem running low voltage stuff through the wall though (HDMI, Ethernet, etc).
Edit: spelling
This one should work well, the Move requires a specific current and voltage, one of which is the 15V 3A which this supports

Try a Ground Loop Noise Isolator. Those usually fix any buzzing issues like what you are describing.
Something like this:

That was the first one I saw after searching amazon for a "RCA ground breaker" and there are likely many options.
Many, if not most, modern amplifiers lack phono inputs. So you'll need to get a a pre-amp. This is the one I use, and it sounds good to my ears. You'll also want to adjust the input level in the Sonos app. Even after pre-amplification, the volume is pretty low at stock setting.
You need a preamp.
This is the one I use on my SL-1500 to go into my connect. I would also recommend getting a connect instead of a port as you can get them much cheaper used on the second hand market and the port isn’t noticeably better.

I think this will be quite difficult, and not worth it.
All the outputs on your TV are analog signals and the Sonos Beam only accepts HDMI. Even with the HMDI to optical adapter this won't work.
You would need a audio converter (something like this: https://www.amazon.com/PROZOR-Optical-Converter-Dolby-AC3-Bi-Directional/dp/B07BSBMZT7 ), and then the optical to HMDI adapter from Sonos. Generally speaking the more converters the worse.
I am pretty sure it will work, but converters always have latency. And I highly doubt the result will sound anywhere near as good as a direct ARC HDMI connection.
Just got a Belkin BoostCharge 15W Fast Wireless Charger Pad and it seems to work well and also works with the Android and Apple phones in the house.
It's big enough that the base of the Roam fits inside the "traction ring" so direct contact with the base. No magnet means easy 1-handed on/off.

I have LG 77 CX and the Arc, Sub, and 2x One SL's as surrounds. Not sure if you're asking about soundstage, or physical dimensions. Sounds like you're asking about soundstage, and I personally think it sounds awesome. No complaints about the soundstage. You do need to consider the physical dimensions, though with this setup. The 77CX is ~68" wide. The Arc is 45" wide. So, it looks pretty good in front of the TV, but the height of the Arc is an issue with this setup. Here is a thing to consider: Are you mounting this on a wall or will it sit on a table? If sitting on a table, the bottom of the 77CX screen will be blocked by the Arc. I had to find a riser to lift the TV up a little, so the bottom of the screen wasn't blocked by the Arc. I found this shelf which is meant to be a wall shelf, but I just have my 77CX sitting on top of it as a riser. All good and no part of the screen is blocked. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00N1IVZUM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
No sorry it doesn’t
It’s just a simple ”Cable Cover Channel”. Example below on Amazon (this one is far to wide for a single cable though so need to find a smaller one.
What you could look into is an active hdmi 2.1 cable. They're still relatively rare but tend to be thinner.
It also doesn’t have quite as satisfying a click as I was hoping. But I was using an older Qi charger, which worked great on my iPhone 8+ and had the necessary specs, and the Roam didn’t always pick up the charge properly. So I’m happy it works, but I’m definitely regretting the money I dropped on it.
I was thinking of getting something like this like I’ve used on my MacBook Pro, and a similar lightning adapter on my phone. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0831KYRD2/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_VPRFPBAVVPMRWT9RDEK4

Certainly can't call it the best as I have neither the Roam in hand (delivery today) nor the charger, but because I need to update to Sonos S2 my existing Play 5 in my bedroom will be going off my main Sonos network.
Due to this decided to get a charger for my phone/watch, which generally charge at night, and other times intend to use the phone charging area for the Roam when not in use...and as a bonus should *usually* have the Roam ready to go in the bedroom. Will revert to wired charging if need to charge in other areas of the house.

Check this out Typically, you’re not even supposed to run regular power cables inside walls even inside of conduit. Usually conduit exists for low voltage electric. (Speaker wires, HDMI, etc). I’m not an electrician but I believe It’s got a lot to do with the wires insulation and how soft / bendable the wire is. Regular power cords do have the potential to also get warmer while in operation.
There are many options out there to run in wall power for a TV using cable similar to Romex cable.
LeGrand makes a kit specifically for situations like this and I’ve used this kit probably a dozen or so times in the past.
Something like this would work fine, though may have some lag. I used one with my old pioneer elite tv and my beam and it worked great.

One-Cord Cable Concealer, 157in Cord Cover, PVC Wire Molding, Paintable Wire Channel to Hide a Single Power Cord, Speaker Wire or TV Cables in Home or Office - 10X L15.7in, W0.59in, H0.4in https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07GPBJV6K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_-BK-FbH0BM444?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
These are nicely sized for one cord, and look great imo. Easily cut and paintable. Be aware the adhesive will pull off paint if you remove it.
Assuming your devices don't exceed bandwidth/feature limits of the switch, it works fine. Because next-gen consoles have higher potential capabilities than video devices (4k/120, etc), best for those to be connected directly to the TV though.
I bought this one, and have an ATV 4K, PS4 and a Nintendo Switch through it. Works just fine.

The only thing that I wish was there was a single button to switch game mode on/off for that HDMI port of the TV (or automate it). Haven't tested if ALLM (the HDMI function to do this) passes through the switch though, as the devices I have connected don't have that function.
I bought this one for my Arc to hang under my 65in OLED. It works great...feels secure, a small gab but not so big it looks odd. I am happy with the purchase.

headphone jack out from the laptop to RCA line in on the Amp, easy peasy. Or, the way I used to do it with my play 5 is get a bluetooth-RCA adapter then any bluetooth device can connect to the amp.
you'll want to keep the headphone volume set pretty low since it's an amplified output, if it sounds bad it's too high.
If you want to route the cables in the wall, you need to find two studs around the middle of the TV and cut two holes in the wall between those two studs - one higher up behind the TV and the other behind the Arc, or lower and hidden behind a piece of furniture or something similar. You can cut the holes in specific shapes and cap them with something like the grommets linked below. To pull the cables through the wall, you can use drywall “fish tape” (can be bought at Home Depot). You are not supposed to run power cables through the wall, as per code.

I got this a few weeks ago, works well. The only hiccup is when my move is completely dead it takes longer than the base to initially charge.
With your internal apps you can have atmos because is compressed atmos your tv send it throught DD+.
For the 4k blue player and PS4/PS5 you have to choose wich connect or buy hdmi splitter.
Is very important that you use 2.1 cables or 2.0b that let atmos.

Yes, from your source to the Arcana and from the Arcana to the display you will need cables that can fully support transfer of 18Gbps/600MHz as long as your equipment is capable of sending such bandwidth.
We recommend HDfury, Cable Matters, Zeskit and Kabeldirekt brands with a min length of 6ft(2m) and max length of 12ft(4m) in copper. If you need longer cables, you should consider active or fiber cables. We recommend the 4K120 from Zeskit and Kabeldirekt on Amazon.
From Arcana to SONOS Arc, the HDMI cable only needs to support ARC/eARC, such as the HDMI cable that is already supplied with SONOS Arc.
There are other after market solutions too. For example:
Mounting Dream Universal Soundbar Mount for SONOS Beam, Sound Bar Bracket for Soundbar with Holes/Without Holes, Non-Slip Base Holder Extends 3.4" to 6.1", Safe and Easy to Install MD5425 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MNZ8RNF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabt1_7NeTFbS1YA56A?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
It mentions Beam specifically but works with Arc as its adjustable. Comments confirm no problems attaching Arc to it.
I would consider using a device that takes HDMI from the TV and splits out SPDIF audio. SPDIF is also referred to as Optical Audio sometimes.
Amazon has quite a few. I am fortunate enough to have a TV with the Optical Out built in so I don't use this type of device but have seen many posts referring people to them in cases such as yours.
Check them out here.

Maybe someone else can chime in with an exact model.
Best of luck !
I just setup Sonos 5.1 with Playbar, Sub & 2x Play:1's. Really really like it. I rent and move often due to my job. Drilling holes isn't an option in most of the houses so this setup is perfect. Sounds great too of course!
I have the SONOS playbar / sub / play:1's and they're great. Playbar on it's own it might leave you wanting.
If I may make a suggestion; I have another room in my house (Garage / man cave) where I needed a playbar but the SONOS would have been overkill. I purchased a VIZIO playbar from Amazon because it was like $90 and I could return it, plus the reviews were really good.
It sounds SO good. No joke man, I was blown away. Buy it from Amazon, if you don't like it just return it.
A few days ago, I spent some time researching ceiling mounts. There are plenty wall mount options, but not much for ceiling mounts. I ended up getting the below from Amazon. You can check the customer review pics and see that a few have used them for Play:1s and they seem to work perfectly for ceiling mounts. You can even mount the speakers upside down. The ball joints mean full directionality. It all sounds pretty good, but I just got the mounts and I have yet to actually try them out.

I have Wemo mini smart plugs that work well with Alexa: Wemo Mini Smart Plug, Wi-Fi Enabled, Works with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01NBI0A6R/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_hNPPAb5WEYZJZ
If you click on the “works with Alexa” banner on this page, it will take you to all categories that are confirmed to work.
I realize it’s good money after bad, but you can get a pretty decent TV which would be compatible for way less than the loss you’d take trying to sell the Beam. I have a 28” TCL Roku TV in my kitchen, which isn’t bad. It has 3 HDMI ports, including ARC, and optical out. And it’s $139 on Amazon.
Amazon has the playbase and sub (at least those, maybe some other stuff too) on sale for $599
Personally I’m not fan of the LG stands this includes the OLEDs, I bought a replacement stand on Amazon and I prefer the way it looks.
