I saw Alex way way back in my local library at a free talk when he was promoting his book (this one Wordwatching) and he was really funny, so glad to see how he's succeeded with Taskmaster
Is this helpful? https://subscene.com/subtitles/taskmaster-twelfth-season I’m not sure why they are missing episode 2 :/ but eps 1 and 3-7 are there. People on Twitter are saying that the official Channel 4 uploads have subtitles? At least some episodes. Someone tweeted C4 had their physical HQ damaged in an accident and that’s causing the delay, but it’s very frustrating.
I'm hosting a Taskmaster party for my birthday! Get the book: Amazon and it's full of stuff you can do at home!
The currency exchange rate sucks, but there's no issue with ordering from Amazon.co.uk. That's how I got Alex's book. The shipping speed is not bad either.
Once in a while an overseas Amazon site won't ship you an item if it's licensed for distribution by a different company in your country. It bites when a US company has distribution rights to a product, but doesn't actually sell the product in the US. A decade ago I ordered a surgery doll from Amazon.de (Germany) for local delivery, then had my friend ship it to me in the US because Amazon blocked direct sales to the US for that doll.
Apparently there is also a 45 minutes special that includes all of them, but I can't find a video: https://trakt.tv/shows/taskmaster/seasons/0/episodes/26
You can download the Photoshop file here. It's a 3-frame animation set to only run once, but as you can see, depending on the device you view it on, it sometimes loops. But it's also set to stay on the last frame for 30 seconds which should be plenty of time to read in case it does loop.
The font is a free Google font called Special Elite font that you can download here.
Hope you enjoy!
Yep, a browser plugin that automatically skips sponsored segments, intros/outros and whatnot. Freely configurable by category and community developed, so you can also upload your own findings in currently unreferenced videos. It's amazing.
Check https://sponsor.ajay.app/ to download it for whichever browser you use.
It is not a sex toy. It's totally a well known toy for little kids. There are a bunch of diff versions. Here is one. (Amazon link that is totally safe for work.)
This has to be my favourite bit of Taskmaster "merch" I've purchased. As you can kind of tell on the show it cannot really go in a straight line.
I usually watch this on UKTV Play with NordVPN, but tonight Nord was crazy slow and for the first time ever UKTV asked me to turn off adblockers(which it never used to!) and when I did that it kept asking me to sign up in, even though I already was.
Luckily I found the episode on a torrent site.
Can't believe that none of them have picked up on the fact that Dara's worm trumpet is in fact a midwife's stethoscope.
For paid ones, if you look around NordVPN/ ExpressVPN/ Surfshark are nearly always being hawked by some influencer or other particularly on nerdy youtube stuff (which is where I see it). So if you look around for a recent ad, you can usually get a pretty good discount- I paid I think $90 for three years worth of NordVPN back in 2019 (which was great especially as back then iplayer didn't block VPNs-annoyingly it does now) but I'm not sure how much it'll be to renew though.
What error did you get? I've used PIA and Mullvad, and when I try to use TVNZ I get an error about time zones. Tried fritzing with the time settings on my PC to no avail. I didn't try using OpenVPN, to be fair, that might have worked.
Another redditor recommended a different VPN app that did let me watch TVNZ, but I can't remember which app it was.
So, while not a taskmaster "official" game, this game has fun things to do in a group that are taskmaster-esque.

Is that voting guy an official mascot? If so, that's creepy as fuck. They're the bastard child of Mo Mo and a "slow down" safety sign figure.
As far as I'm aware, none of the truly free ones are really any good. They all have some combination of data caps, poor bandwidth, static IPs that are known and blocked by streaming services, limited choice for exit points, poor support, constantly hassling you to buy a paid version, etc.
The best "free" options are probably the VPNs included in the Norton or Kaspersky security suites. Despite Windows Defender being pretty good now, most people should still have a dedicated AV app on their PCs, so with those you get a decent VPN as a bonus.
If you're interested in doing even a fair bit of international streaming it's really worth it to get one of the top-tier paid VPNs like NordVPN, PIA, ExpressVPN, CyberGhost, or SurfShark. I've used most of those and currently use ExpressVPN and I'd recommend any of them. I think they're all about 8$/month if you get the annual plan and for less than 1/2 the cost of Disney+ or Netflix you get access to unlimited streaming.
Also, most people don't think of it, but if you like sports at all it's fantastic to have a VPN for Olympics coverage. Particularly if you live in the US since NBC/Universal's Olympics coverage is garbage. They seem to think people tune in to watch athlete profiles and studio crew talking about sports. I really like being able to get on the international streams, particularly BBC, CBC, and ABC and actually watch the events.
Have you tried the whole "set your computer to NZ time and then use your VPN" thing? That worked for me up until recently, when my VPN got blocked. Ivacy seems to still work, for what it's worth, but the speeds are really slow and my computer thinks the app is spyware, lol. The things I do for NZ entertainment!
> I assume that was a statue of Archimedes
Yep! https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B06WVJ8RC5
The ball/lever/pivot at his feet is a reference to a famous quote attributed to Archimedes:
> Give me a lever long enough and a fulcrum on which to place it, and I shall move the world
I’m in the Netherlands and the only way I’ve found that I can watch it is by using a vpn (NordVPN). I was hoping it might be on some ziggo service or Videoland but not yet..
A UK vpn is super useful for iPlayer and uktv stuff too so I would have got one even if they still put taskmaster on YouTube…
Yeah it is a lot easier to get in the UK. But if anyone in the US wants it here's the link
>She is pretty damn funny, though I've not seen her perform without her whiteboards
You should absolutely watch I'll Be Bec. Also available in VR, interestingly. Really hard to give any more detail without spoiling it because it's incredibly interwoven.
Does anyone use TVPlayer? I'm actually around to watch Taskmaster live for once, and I get this error:
"Sorry!
TVPlayer is having some issues at the moment, we'll be back shortly."
Bizarrely, it says "All systems operational" beneath that.

I was looking forward to joining in the conversion straight after the episode for once. Oh well.
Sign up and download a VPN, switch your location to someplace like Germany, and watch it on the Taskmaster YouTube channel so they get the views.
I really recommend ExpressVPN or NordVPN, but if you're on a budget SurfShark or CyberGhost are decent options that only cost about $2.50 a month.
You can watch it on the streaming services for Dave or Channel4 -- Dave has most of everything to the last 2 series, then C4 has the rest.
For folks in the US, grab a VPN (I use ExpressVPN) to spoof a UK IP address (it's not as complicated as that sounds, it's really just a few clicks) and then you can stream either of those free.
You might have to input a UK street address when you sign up, but... I'm sure you can figure that part out.
Edit: Corrected fat thumb typos.
If you want to access the channel 4 streaming, try NordVPN. It's not free, sadly. I have tried various free ones, but none of them could penetrate the Brits so far.
As for the YouTube, I'm not sure about the official Taskmaster channel uploading the full episode. From what I see in Countdown and others, Channel 4 is a bit strict, we probably see numerous compilations and bits, but not really a full episode. But of course, there's high possibility there would be non-official channels uploading it though.
Other VPNs are available. but I use the VPN for US netflix. UK netflix has Star Trek Discovery which some people might enjoy
