I absolutely get it, but that's seriously not always a case in gaming industry. Examples:
Updating ACNH would get Nintendo a good PR, just like things listed above. It will sell in EVEN MORE copies then.

When Amazon has them in stock they are $12.99 and honestly I really like it.
Games can get fairly expensive in Japan, new or otherwise. Book Off, which I believe is the name of the store where the photo was taken, doesn’t usually give good “discounts” on used Switch games. However, no joke, Amazon (marketplace?) has the normal edition of Celeste for ¥8000+ because it isn’t easy to get physically and switch games don’t fall in price as easily as PS games. It’s a hideous markup, but perhaps not unreasonable to a collector. The digital edition is much more accessible at around ¥2100.
For quick reference, the starting prices for the new Pokémon games in Japan is ¥6578 for the physical edition and ¥6500 for the digital.

I knew this would happen. I knew the switch fans would start complaining that new games aren't on the switch and they wish they were.
The self awareness is almost tangible, but not as tangible as today's sponsor, NordVPN
That's right boys, get 30% off your first year with code "CELESTE"!
https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Lite-Turquoise/dp/B07V4GCFP9 hey you could always buy the 200 dollar switch light if you want to be a greedy asshole and steal from a small indie company
IMO this collection is OK, but the context matters. Nintendo doesnt release many completely new games - because let's face it, Animal Crossing and niche Paper Mario for whole 2020 isn't too much compared to any other platform, especially PC - and then they are dropping another bunch of remasters. That's what makes it disgusting... and why I will buy it anyway, cause it's the same case like buying old games from GOG.com (where they aren't very cheap either)
That’s fair. But these were super cool and sleek disc wallets made specifically for Gamecube and they have special sized disc slots and they hold one disc per sleeve (2 if you count front and back). Look how cool they are and how cool I am for buying it. 😎

Uj/ Yeah no way in hell am I playing this on the Switch. I'm tall, and my feet and hands are fucking massive. JoyCons are completely eclipsed in the palm of my hand, and it hurts after a while if I have to play with those tiny ass buttons and controllers. Hell, I had to buy these to make handheld mode a semi tolerable experience. It is just infuriating that Nintendo has the audacity to try and release this at a higher price than the original game.
Rj/ Can't wait to help pay those starving developers! I wanna thank daddy Nintendo for taking a direct emulation and putting it on the Switch. I refuse to use those filthy illegal emulators that make the poor indie devs go without running water and electricity.
I bought a grip that surrounds the entire system and joycons for just that reason. When I let go with one hand it felt like I was supporting too much weight on a single joycon connection. Also one of them slips around slightly and likes to swap between wired and wireless connection, which interrupts anything I’m doing. Grip case solves all those problems.
I went minimal/cheap with mine:

Nintendo already did port the games in OP’s post to an HD console and charged $60 for it. The “hypothetical” phrasing is the joke. They were trying to get people to buy the system and nobody wanted it. So the hilarity is that people are begging to pay full boat for a “hypothetical” port nobody wanted and is now $20 on amazon.
