Pretty easy to find, just googled "Alpine Church Island" and a bunch of pictures that look almost identical came up. Looks like it's Lake Bled in Slovenia.
Edit: here's a bunch of pictures of it: https://www.shutterstock.com/search/similar/645736153
These women, here are the cast of a play called "The Spinster's Convention."
One of the characters in the play, Betsy Bobbett, waves a heart shaped fan that says "Matrimony" and another character, Polly Jane Pratt, waves a heart shaped fan that has the printed words "Love," "Hope," and "Matrimony."
The play, itself, was published in 1900 by The Dramatic Publishing Company in Chicago.
This was taken from W-Hotel in Boston.
The photo was not taken in the Adirondack Mountains. This is Upper Arrow Lake in British Columbia, Canada.
It appears to be the cross (made of iron) at the top of "Untersberg" mountain, south of Salzburg. There's a cable car that takes you to the top.
the title of the photograph is "The Bikini Girl on the Boardwalk", taken by Georges Dambier for Jour de France, Deauville, 1959
Here is the boardwalk. Still haven't found who the model was but I'll try to post an update.
Oh DAMN... I should have checked these comments before I spent the last hour hunting down the exact location in google maps. The turbines were the first clue, followed by that small island in front of the larger landmass... after that I estimated line of sight across the bay and started comparing buildings until I found the matching location. Nice work, though, Reseachr... you totally beat me to it. :) Marking solved!
