Hi guys, this is Bobby, co-founder of CoinGecko. Reading the kind words that you say here mean a lot to us. It's people like you who keep us motivated to continue working hard at this. Thank you for your continuous support. We do our best. Should you have any suggestions on how we can improve, feel free to drop us an email anytime at .
Great community you guys have build up here at Blackcoin. Keep up the great work and we are monitoring your progress and hoping for the best for you folks! :)
Bitcoin is the standard. Litecoin, Dogecoin, etc. are starting to be accepted in some places, but they haven't caught on the same way Bitcoin has yet. In the future, who knows? I'm a pretty big believer in Dogecoin because it has a large community that's working hard on new projects, advertisement, etc. A lot of people are investing in new coins, too, hoping they'll be the big thing someday.
This site will give you an idea of how powerful each coin is right now based on market cap.
This site is an attempt to estimate the overall ranking of coins based on several different factors.
You are right! I should totally add a donation address to the website! Don't know why it didn't cross my mind haha. You can find a list of donation addresses at CoinGecko's footer. Feel free to donate to TM and I there. We would really appreciate any donation to help us continue running both AltcoinWeekly and CoinGecko :)
But before you donate, let us tip you first for being awesome and for liking our work!

Hi guys, Bobby from CoinGecko here. There was a small bug in our liquidity index. We are introducing BTC38 trading volume data for DOGE/BTC and DOGE/CNY trade as many shibes have pointed out that BTC38 is an important exchange in China. Unfortunately we made a small miscalculation there resulting in a huge trading volume for DOGE and other coins trading on BTC38. We have temporarily removed BTC38 from our trading volume and liquidity index and will reintroduce it soon once we fixed this problem. Here is the list of exchanges making up our total trading volume: https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/dogecoin/trading_exchanges
Thank you for understanding and sorry for the confusion.
Hi Gmoney2015, the current data that you see on CoinGecko is ready for your usage. We are still in Beta because we still have many many more metrics that we want too and of course more coins to add to our list. We are tracking 32 coins atm and growing our list by a few coins each week! Look out for more interesting metrics that we will add in the coming weeks :)
>KOGS slam just launched..
So I checked this out and it also has a crypto coin associated with it...at least in my quick investigation. Might be worth getting some. 0.03c
Hi guys, Bobby from CoinGecko here. Yes we do value new commits in the last 4 weeks pretty highly. Dogecoin is still doing well so nothing much to worry here. The dev score will increase automatically when the devs commit again in the coming weeks :)
Hi guys, I'm Bobby, the co-founder of CoinGecko. Liking the discussion that you guys are having over here. We are listening to your feedback and refining our way of ranking cryptocurrencies.
Our main objective is to give a 360 degree overview of cryptocurrencies. We use metrics that can be fair to all coins. Blackcoin is doing well - I'm happy to see it hitting the top 10 once again. Keep up the great work that you guys are doing here. We are following your progress and are rooting for your success!
We have some fantastic news!!
AQUA has been officially added to CoinGecko 🦎
You can now discover everything Aquarius, from social channels to Circulating Supply & Market Cap.
Don't forget, click the ⭐ to favorite and add ♒ AQUA to your portfolio.
If you love meme, you can hold doge, but if you're interested in use-cases and solid development, I will advise you to take time and do your own research.
First, get in tune with the market, you can find a list of tokens/coins ever released on coingecko and read aboutEthereum on its website.
Since you're starting out, you could get an Algo-stable for start to understand how the system works and I will recommend MARK token
> said every BTC holder/maxi
Look at the charts. Any BTC pairing from the last two years and don't give me that maxi nonsense.
>Unlike BTC, some coins do slowly upgrade their capibilities/tech. I've been disappointed in Iota and its coordinator still being around, but they might actually figure it out at some point.
So why is Bitcoin top here?

Hi SuperLeroy, Bobby from CoinGecko here. Actually I would like to inform that Developer and Community has equal weights on CoinGecko.
The reason why LTC was behind DOGE on our site for a long time was because previously we did not incorporate market capitalization onto our algorithm. /u/coblee was the one who asked us to incorporate market cap into our algorithm (we should be thankful for that!) and we are glad that we did it because now LTC is putting on a good fight for the #2 position.
Hi mate, sorry for the late reply. I just saw this. This is Bobby from CoinGecko. Great to see so much debate going on here on Dogecoin's score on CoinGecko.
I have checked things over here. Dogecoin development is still relatively active though it has certainly fallen down the rank to #6 behind Bitcoin, Ripple, Litecoin, Counterparty and Maidsafecoin. It is indeed true that the total commits in the last 4 weeks weigh rather heavily for our algorithm and there does not seem to be that many commits on Github in the last one month.
I'm sure when the Dogecoin deves start pushing out more code on Github again, the developer score and rank will rise soon enough so don't worry too much. Dogecoin is still doing pretty well! :)
Hi Jools1802, I'm Bobby, the co-founder of CoinGecko. I just saw this post. Here's an answer to your question on how often the chart is updated:
We use automated bots to collect data everyday with frequency of data collection ranging from every few minutes to once a day. The chart on the main page is updated once every hour while the Dogecoin price chart is updated every few minutes. Hope this answers your question.

That's a lot of potential scenarios you have there in your post! I think many of the cryptocurrencies will die off leaving only a few strong ones to survive. CoinGecko has some interesting stats on all the various cryptocurrencies in the market and how they fare against each other.
We do support BTC-USD price. On the main chart, at the top left, there is a currency switcher you can use. or on the price chart page ie. http://coingecko.com/price_charts/bitcoin/usd you could switch between different national currencies if you like to
Is that what you are looking for? Or is there a different BTC-USD price that you are thinking of?

Hi /u/Tigerpanda2010 , we do support converting the price into national currency
Above the chart on the left, there is a currency switcher that you can use to flip the price and market cap into the currency of your choice. Your browser will also remember it.
We also have price graph for various national currencies like USD, EUR, and so on.. http://coingecko.com/price_charts/blackcoin/usd http://coingecko.com/price_charts/blackcoin/eur
Hope that helps, and do let me know if it appears confusing or obscure.
