"The depth chart is like a balancing scale. As one side of the scale is "heavier" the price will drift in this direction."

The team is so much more transparent than before. There are weekly updates and social media presence is much higher. The team is hard working on increasing adoption, but there are speedbumps on the road. For example, we get listed on one exchange this week, and then get delisted from another next week. It's like two steps forward, one step back (or the other way around).
Regarding the mobile wallet: that's being worked on, an 'early access' (beta) version for Android can be found here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.reddcoin.reddcoin_flutter.
I understand that the progress is not as we all would like to see it, but that has it's reasons. Reddcoin is a project of volunteers, there is no (large) corporation behind it. That has some advantages and some disadvantages.
I mean, I became part of the team more or less by coincidence... I started helping people with issues (with their Reddcoin Core wallet) here on Reddit and on ReddcoinTalk.org, just because I liked doing so. That has evolved to me becoming part of the Reddcoin team and now I am helping others via the Reddcoin Helpdesk (making me less visible here). All in my free time, just because I like Reddcoin.
I do believe that we will get there, but it takes longer than we all want. We will get there eventually.
Distribution of Reddcoin Paper Wallets via Geocaches
Explanation: Geocaching is a popular game that takes place on a local level all over the world. See for instance http://www.geocaching.com/ Geocaching communities are usually open minded persons equipped with mobile devices.
Geocaching is a kind of treasure hunts. Caches differ, however there are some caches that may contain objects, so when you find them you can take one out and put one in. We can use this to distribute Reddcoin, e.g. like this: https://i.imgur.com/TUZXO8t.jpg
Hurdle: Before we do that we need a running mobile app. Investing makes sense, but only as long as conversion is working. If people install an app this means they will remember it for quite some time and maybe even peek into the subreddit or whatever platform we link to.
u/xhale2007 could you maybe give this a shot? We definitely need to get added to other "major" exchanges.
I know Poloniex delisted RDD a while ago. If Bittrex delists RDD, then we are officially dead :)
Possible exchanges:
Bitfinex
HitBTC
Kraken
Binance
or just take a look here: https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/volume/24-hour/
there is indeed a setting to limit the number of connections. We use the same parameters as Bitcoin node.
-maxconnections=<n>
the default is 125, just set to a value that you think is appropriate, or leave the default.
The unlock for staking option, only allows the wallet to use your private keys for signing the staking transaction. It is not able to send funds anywhere.
If you do a send, you will need to enter your password to confirm the action
If you want to maximise your staking, you will need to have as many coins online
Follow general security such as the following guide. https://bitcoin.org/en/secure-your-wallet
Not all of these are applicable for Reddcoin staking, and we should revise
I submitted the .oft file to www.1001freefonts.com under the name Reddcoin. It will take 48 hours to appear on the site. I will update with a link when it's available. In the meantime, I will send it to anyone who wants it.
EDIT: To make things easier - Here it is. http://www.filedropper.com/reddcoin
Or you can get an account and mine on eobot and mine toward rdd coin either with sha or scypt and can be done with big rigs or simple cpu mining on there using https://www.eobot.com/new.aspx?referid=90367
Hi Gmoney2015, the current data that you see on CoinGecko is ready for your usage. We are still in Beta because we still have many many more metrics that we want too and of course more coins to add to our list. We are tracking 32 coins atm and growing our list by a few coins each week! Look out for more interesting metrics that we will add in the coming weeks :)
EXCELLENT WORK LAUDNEY !!! YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING !!!
People, just so you know where the action is at:

Basically what's happening is CenOS has problem with licensing the Elliptical Curve function secp256k1 so there is a chance your installed openssl package doesn't have it enabled. So, if after trying what i suggested above it still doesn't work, you have to compile openssl yourself. Follow the instructions below:
As root (or prepend sudo):
yum groupinstall "Development Tools" -y
yum install kernel-devel -y
yum install boost-thread boost-devel boost boost-system boost-filesystem boost-program-options leveldb-devel -y
Then as your non-root user (suggested):
wget http://www.openssl.org/source/openssl-1.0.1f.tar.gz
tar -xzf openssl-1.0.1f.tar.gz
cd openssl-1.0.1f
./config
make
Now you have to compile your reddcoind again. But first you need to point the makefile to your own compiled openssl:
add the following lines to makefile.unix (change the absolute path in the first line as appropriate for you):
DSSL = /home/mypath/openssl-1.0.1f
ISSL = $(DSSL)/include
OPENSSL_LIB_PATH = $(DSSL)
OPENSSL_INCLUDE_PATH = $(ISSL)
Then to make: make -f makefile.unix USE_UPNP= BOOST_LIB_SUFFIX=-mt
I'm very paranoid when it comes to backup and I take no chance.
For all my Mac machines, I back them up on two time capsules. For my Linux machines, I back them up once with rsnapshot + rsync to evbackup.com and a second time encrypted with tarsnap to tarsnap.com (which uses Amazon cloud storage)
I also do another encrypted backup to the cloud using Symform
I then have a local RAID-5 with 2-redundant-disks that's used once in a while through USB2 / Thunderbolt to back up all my machines at home.
unfortunately when big companies have problems there are always knock on effects, hopefully they will fix it quickly and you will be back up and running

Great news for digital currency adoption!
Back in '09, Dell pioneered sales using Twitter, now expect other major retailers to follow their tracks again.
Looking at the current markets for RDD (https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/reddcoin/#markets) Bittrex is nr 1 with a volume of almost 400k in the last 24 hours. Litebit.eu (dutch exhange) only 7k in the last 24 hours. I buy my RDD here. Then we have Cryptopia and YoBit on 3 and 4. Aren't these 2 exhanges "major" ones?
I read that RDD got removed from Poloniex a while ago - why did this happen?
And how can we get RDD on other exhanges? What are the terms? And are devs considering this? u/henryyoung42
Yea, that was the formula hoppi originally provided. We've since revised it a bit to be 5% staking once per day, instead of three times per day, which should be more accurate. Supposedly 6% is under completely optimal conditions. You can use the revised version here:
Also, feel free to play around with the settings a bit. I should probably abstract them to make them easier to mess with.
Edit: Here's a version where the parameters are a bit easier to access. http://jsfiddle.net/yE6Vp/15/
Okay, the new version should address all your issues I think. I am considering making the popup look branded / fancier. Would that be good?
You may have to uninstall and re-install to get the newest version, or try forcing an extension update.
Try this one. It worked for me getting staking, reddcoind + reddcoin-cli working
As usual Poloniex hasn't responded which means none of my buy orders have triggered. It's still at 20 sats at this moment. See
https://poloniex.com/exchange/btc_redd
Can some whale kindly go and sell into my buys? :-)
> How would normies get reddcoins in the first place?
The simplest way outside of an exchange is to use Shapeshift.
> Is there a mobile app to tip through redd-id?
This is something I'd really like to make for iOS (as part of a light wallet most likely), but I'm hanging out for a Redd-ID API and the reference client first ;)
Fastest way to get a lot of coin is to buy directly from an exchange, converting bitcoin -> reddcoin.
Check here for available exchanges - https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/reddcoin/#markets
Once you have, transfer to your wallet and start staking and automatically earn additional 5% pa

A Fun article indeed not bad once we see <strong>the metrics</strong>
Yes we are on the right way but still things need to be done. I for mine am a big fan of RDD and yes PR and accessibility is a big thing. For now i guess even if we have good PR it is still to hard for an "average" social Media person to understand things. and How the whole ecosystem works. So i would suggest to do there some "enlightenment work" even the article i made on business2community.com was okay to attract people and get thigns rolling but something like this should more or less be rolling each week at least 3 to 4 times. And having read some comments her i was more or less shocked. One article can not or will not move the price of RDD this is what a lot of ppl think here. I think RDD has the chance to be like the http://flattr.com/ of crypto if it is done right. The question is how to make this all working for the average guy. Think on a person which does FB on a daily Job. even if he would install the FB Tippingbot how he would get some coins. Buy BTC first with USD and than exchange to RDD - there are to many steps to do. I have daily calls with PPL around me from non crypto world who are asking me about BTC as they have heard about MTGOX etc and think now is the place to jump on the board etc. If i start to explain them more about the system they are, eh i just wanted to buy some BTC like i buy Gold and not the whole shananigang around it. Seems still to complicated all for the average dude and gall
Laudney: How about a Tip Bot for WEIBO.com? It's the equivalent of Twitter in China, but a lot more popular than Twitter there:
http://www.alexa.com/topsites/countries/CN
I read somewhere that China accounts for more than 50% of cryptocurrency trading volume...
It will certainly help Reddcoin get listed on www.bter.com
The "others" who will not agree apparently include big money investors, as RDD currently sits at the 75th position in the top 100 currencies.
Having key, recognized people overseeing the direction of RDD will likely lead to greater confidence in RDD from the crypto community.
Take a look at Dash's website:
I don't see any "cult of the individual" here; rather, I see an established team of contributors (who, in turn, have made Dash the #6 ranked crypto in the top 100).
No, it's no blah, blah, blah.
My point about RDD is it now faces innumerable hurdles to succeed; chief among them, RDD's own history.
I'm not saying this is fair; it just is.
And concerning the volunteers, I personally feel they should be compensated for their work. In fact, I'd send RDD in support.
But... who are these people? Who would control the funds I (and others) send? How exactly would the funds be spent?
See, these are the types of issues that need to be addressed if you want the crypto community to view RDD as a viable, recognized, leading currency.
Here's an example of professional transparency:
Here's another example of professional transparency:
And the RDD team? Well, if one searches the Internet, you might find a page dated in 2014 that notes a name or two. But why isn't this information clearly noted on the official reddcoin.com homepage (where it should be)?
How many people do you think have heard of RDD, gone to reddcoin.com in order to read up on the currency, the devs; etc., only to find dated information and no clear indication of who exactly is behind RDD?
This isn't helpful to the cause you clearly support. But, as I've already noted, RDD has a history of self-inflicted wounds.
Wouldn't surprise me if people used bots, since it would be very easy to make one. And with so many people voting so regularly, it doesn't surprise me they suspect bots. My account was also disabled (although I only used a reminder script, which they allowed, so they activated my account right after I e-mailed them about it).
In case anyone's interested, my script can be found here
Not true, look at Ripple for example.

Interest in the site is growing...
Maybe you use Reddit or whatever, but when I am looking at an Altcoin, I go to their site.
Sweeping is getting access to the coins by moving all of them to a new address with a new transaction.
Importing is getting access to the coins without moving them, you add the address (and the RDDs on it) to your wallet and can access the RDDs.
I would highly suggest importing instead of sweeping. For two reasons: 1) it doesn't add any possible issues (no new transaction), 2) importing doesn't reset the coin age, so the user might possible receive a staking reward soon if the user decides to stake.
To import a private key (which is on the paper wallet), the user has 2 options:
If the user decides the use Reddcoin Core, I can help him further by explaining how to import in Reddcoin Core. /u/Loose_Lie_8383, let me know if you need help with that.
Hey! Nice to see you again! It's a really cool thing you're doing, and you'd be surprised... not many people legitimately want to know how other people's day has been. Which makes this project (for lack of a better term) double cool. =)
Today? Not bad... I'm going away with the GF to celebrate her new job (call back to previous post!) this coming weekend, so spent a lot of the day getting those plans together while she's at work. Went out for breakfast with my folks, which was all right. Parents can be tricky things. But I made it through. And I'm currently at a Starbucks, trying to get some work for myself done (but got distracted by the daily /r/reddcoin checkin).
Incidentally, I've had a rough time lately trying to motivate myself to do all those things that you need to do to better yourself. For some reason, I've just been procrastinate-y. But I took out my copy of The War of Art by Steven Pressfield which I find super motivating at times like this. It's technically about how creative folks can overcome that same procrastination, but it's applicable even if you aren't in the creative fields.
Anyways, I hope your day has been spectacular! Good luck out there!
I needed an app on my phone that allowed me to store my crypto addresses as well as friends' addresses and when I couldn't find one I decided to make my own. I hope it's useful to some of you, it's completely free and the addresses are stored locally on your phone. As this is my first published app, any feedback is greatly appreciated!

What you have done is the question? To grow, Reddcoin need new projects and apps to utilize. Mobile wallet for android is a new addition and works well. - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.reddcoin.reddcoin\_flutter
Yes, you can receive to your wallet once it is online and up to date (not syncing) You can buy RDD on an exchange like bittrex. If there are no exchanges which operate in your country, please consider voting here for RDD to change it in the future:
https://www.binance.com/vote.html
In the meantime, you can buy another coin and change it with shapeshift or something like that and send it to your wallet
I assume you are asking on this thread because I mentioned the reddcoin calc?
I found it on a old reddcoin thread so not sure how accurate it is but
http://jsfiddle.net/yE6Vp/8/ <---calc
According to it 100000 would net you
Estimated Annual gain: 6,183.48 RDD Estimated Weekly gain: 118.913 RDD Estimated Daily gain: 16.941 RDD
keep in mind I don't know how to date this is, hence why I am asking
Tokenblender is using Shapeshift, so why not skip Tokenblender and use Shapeshift.
Good luck.
I am in the process of writing my second draft for RDD to be included in my book. Here is the first draft:
I know that the logo needs changing (the red token part is cut off). Is there anything else important I have missed?
I am considering increasing each coin section to 4 pages. This would then make it possible to detail how many coins have been and will be generated over time (tabular form on the first page.

More than 45% of Reddit users are US based. There will still be work to do promoting this in Global social networks.
Here's a Javascript version, although it's for Bitcoin... I couldn't find any Litcoin/Dogecoin/Reddcoin versions, but I'm sure it can be converted pretty easily.
Hello! Thank you for your interest in our service and social activity 🙂 We’re pleased about that.
You’re right that we spread info about our service. We need feedback from the crypto community to understand what we’re doing right and what we’re doing wrong¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Of course, there are plenty of options to spread the word about our project, but the feedback from the people on Reddit is important to us. Because here, people are not afraid to express their point of view or criticize, this, in turn, will move us in the right way.
SwapSpace team will be glad if you can take a look at our project and share your thoughts about that. You can write a review on Trustpilot or drop an email to
Yup. There are a few sites that let you buy BTC with USD/EUR (e.g. Coinbase.com, Bitstamp.com). Buy BTC there, and then move the BTC to an Exchange that trades BTC for RDD. Trade for RDD, then move your RDD to your personal wallet. Never leave your money on someone else's server!
Cryptsy.com Trades BTC/RDD and LTC/RDD (Soon to be only LTC/BTC)
Poloniex.com Trades BTC/RDD
I agree. I am also thinking in that same ballpark as Kisamalot (180-225 sat). Here is an image of my prediction. Let me know if you guys have any different perspective on this.
Stellar is created by the same guy who originally created Mt. Gox and Ripple... it's his improvement upon Ripple... also, just take a look at the people involved... no scammers here. One of the advisors is the founder of Wordpress...
https://www.stellar.org/about/
I joined Stellar yesterday because of the developer and team (similar to what caused me to jump on board with Reddcoin), and I believe that Stellar could be a viable solution/tool for Reddcoin market expansion/acceptance down the line once (if) they can get it going.

Can't buy Reddcoins here but take a look : https://changelly.com/
You shouldn't back up your wallet multiple times. You just need one file, however it just gives you a peace of mind to back it up once in a while lol. (At least for me)
& I have no idea, just do your research before investing in a coin. That's all I can say
Cheers
i think it could go a long way if we had some people sell reddcoins on https://bisq.network/
people already leave their comps on 24/7 to stake...so shouldnt be too hard to set something up on a low power pc to sell reddcoins on bisq, because the thing with bisq being a decentralized exchange is you have to leave your comp on until the orders are completed...so what a person could do is have bisq on 24/7 (seperate computer maybe(another raspberry?)) and then sell your staked coins on bisq could put up new sells everytime you get a stake in,making for many choices for the buyer of how much they want to buy
other thing is bisq is a worldwide advertising network also if we got reddcoins on their for sale its good for the coin and the bisq platform
ok so say we got steady reddcoins for sale on bisq, and imagine there a link somewhere maybe beside tip buttons or even somehow close to reddid ui....then newcomers dont have to leave their house or even have id,sign up hassles to buy reddcoins right from home
i wonder if the reddcoin team could make some connection to have a steady supply of reddcoins for sale on bisq to help get it all started for while
you can buy and sell reddcoin on https://bisq.network/ maybe its the cheapest and least restrictive way...problem is no one is selling them there...not much anyways...someone should put some 'lots' of reddcoin up for sale there so they available...could be set up under trade alts for alts...make it real easy ))
Don't forget that your computer has a "print screen" button that allows you to take screen captures on your PC :) Free programs like Hyperdesktop or puush can also allow you to directly upload screenshots with a few keystrokes.
This won't affect you, so don't worry.
The API will provide useful information and services for people who wish to create online applications using Reddcoin.
There's a pretty neato explanation page on APIs in general here -http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/api-good-technology-explained/
My bit of word-of-mouth has garnered interest (I live in Japan), but we need to get it fully accessible. Anyone with the ability and time (which I no longer have) can go here: https://www.transifex.com/reddcoin/reddcoin/
Even picking away at it will help (I'll be available again come summer).
Back when I actually had time, I spent a good bit of it translating the client into Japanese. This was about a year ago and it's still at 31%: https://www.transifex.com/reddcoin/reddcoin/
I am a non-native speaker, and did my best, but getting a client released fully in Japanese would be a huge step if you've got some spare time.
*edit - I was unsure what to do with "Reddcoin" itself. When I see "Bitcoin" in print in Japan, it seems to get equal time English and phonetic spelling. Thus, I used "レッドコイン" quite a lot as it was something new and unfamiliar. Should I have been using "Reddcoin" instead?
I translated the Icelandic here at ( https://www.transifex.com/projects/p/reddcoin/ ) and it was amazingly fun. It was nice to be little Iceland and ahead of the big nations. But when I am finnish translating and reviewing then everybody stopped working in this. It would be nice if you people would finish this, This would definitely help Reddcoin Society!! Here is a little motivation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VZ2HcRl4wSk
Tried it out, got some coins and it all worked well. I like the idea, it makes it easy for anyone to set up a faucet. Seems like a neat website.
Even though my webdesign and CSS days a loooong behind me and i'm a bit rusty, I decided to have a go at sprucing the page up a bit. check it out here: http://cssdesk.com/g3ET8
note, my css was always not the best, and with all my rust it's probably awful now, but i thought that might be a start in the right direction there (i'm pretty sure there is an infinitely better way to organize the divs for the form, for example, i used a hacky as hell method to get it that way... oops). Let me know what you think.
