when people claim that me_irl upvotes anything, but let's be honest here a second guys, ok? r/me_irl is a big subreddit, almost half a million subs. The notion that me_irl upvotes ANYTHING is simply untrue, and by saying that, you are living in ignorance of the thousands of posts posted here every hour. I feel like most of you only look at the "hot" section of this subreddit, occasionally looking at "top" when you wanna see the best of the best. That's fine, and probably the best way to get your meme dosage. But come with me for a moment to the "new" section. Notice something? Yeah, each post has around 1-7 upvotes. Maybe 13 if you're lucky, and 0 or less if it's a particularly bad meme. So, you can see here, the idea of me_irl upvoting ANYTHING is utter bullshit. me_irl has SOME taste, it just happens to be really bad taste. But really, I don't blame you guys. Look at the "new" section again. 11 posts within the last 15 minutes? That's a lot of posts. Because of this, not everything can be blessed by thousands of free upvotes, upvotes that me_irl claims to give out like candy. In fact the odds of your funny original money cat meme recieving 7k upvotes are incredibly low. That being said, don't give up, even if your meme is trash. Eventually, your meme will randomly become the top post on the sub, even if it really really sucks. In conclusion, a funny picture of kermit so people think this is still a meme and notjust some unsolicited advice from me, a really cool dude.
If anybody's wondering, I done this by breaking the original article image into little chunks (usually by paragraph), then feeding these chunks into this handy little site. I then pasted the text into Google translate to get the final result.
You could try using those programs/sites that try to pull text from images, and then use a translator? The only issue is that they're not 100% accurate by any means. I had to use them every so often when playing a Japanese online game since I couldn't copy/paste interfaces and only minorly recognized katakana, and usually at least one word would be totally wrong.
I think the Google Translate app allows this, and then there are OCR programs/sites like this one, if you need example.
I used New OCR to get the characters.
Then I got this result from Google Translate:
> 仿南宋官寞瓷 → "Imitation Southern Song Dynasty official lonely porcelain"
Well there are two methods (Methods I use at least). Well technically its one and the same.
Use google translation app on your phone, take a screenshot, it scans the pic and translates it.
Take a screenshot on your pc (with sniping tool),save it, go to this site http://www.newocr.com/, upload it, copy and paste the text to google translater.
In the last image, the yellow text next to "New Stage" seems to say:
"Regal deserted castle of the noble who vanished"
That's essentially straight out of Google Translate, however. If anyone wants to try their hand at making some extremely rough translations that way, search "OCR Translation". Using this site has given me the most accurate translations so far.
You need as high of contrast as possible between the background and the text. Black and white if possible. Don't be too afraid of the text looking pixelated. The first attempt will likely have some erroneous translation, so you may have to keep trying. Don't try to translate too much text in one image, and crop the image to cut out just what you need.
> I put the code in an image and uploaded to imgur so that bots don't take it.
Try uploading your image here and see what happens http://www.newocr.com/.
Any bot with a half decent OCR algorithm will be able to read an image as clear as yours.
Ik heb het plaatje omgezet in tekst met een Optical Character Recognition service en deze vervolgens ingevoerd in WolframAlpha.
Het antwoord is 7x-7.
Graag gedaan!

This poster was given to us by the same person who gave us this one.
I tried to OCR & translate the text in the footers, but http://www.newocr.com is having trouble recognizing the characters -- I may have rotated them a couple of degrees. :7( Can anyone who reads/speaks Russian help?
Pro tip: screen cap the text and feed it into http://www.newocr.com so you can copy paste the characters in Google Translate!
Results (in order of appearance):
Top right button: Default
SCREEN MODE
MOVIE QUALITY
Bottom button: OK (I think everybody guessed this one)
There is OCR, or Optical Character Recognition, that will give you a rough machine translation of the note. The two good sites I know of are:
http://www.i2ocr.com/free-online-japanese-ocr
Best of luck.
This site provides technical data for a various makes and models of Volkswagen & Audi vehicles as well as service procedures mostly in PDF format. Unfortunately as life would have it's mostly in Russian with a few English abbreviated Eng in between. One can always translate info via OCR for example. Anyway use it as you please.
