Certainly is, you just need to search 'kindle' on google play and it will pop right up. Or I believe this link will take you there. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.amazon.kindle&hl=en_GB
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.amazon.kindle
You can also get the kindle for android app. At 37mb im not downloading it because then I'd have to remove, erm, scientific material from my phone to make space for boobs i mean books
Doing a web search is pretty easy.

Note: that Amazon link /u/kickstand gave you does have a Kindle option for an ebook if you still want an atheist version. The Kindle app is available for android.

Unless I don't understand a special use case - won't Amazon’s Cloud Reader app available in the Chrome store do this for you?
Of course the Kindle App. is alway there if your Chromebook can run Android Apps.
I'm looking in to it, but not for at least 3 months. Long story short, but I went exclusively with Amazon, but that only lasts 90 days and then I have to reassess whether I want to go exclusive with them for another 90 days.

I've never tried this myself, but there is a free kindle reader for android.
If for example you have an Android tablet, there is an app for Kindle itself and even apps from third parties. You can read your ebooks on those. Those tablets also come with browsers so you can browse the web properly (in browsers optimized).
The Amazon Kindle app provides for creating groups of PDF's & easily choosing one to read. I don't understand what you mean by "automatic bookmarking". https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.amazon.kindle
(The Nook app works similarly, but is visually difficult.)
Existe o aplicativo do Kindle para o celular e para o desktop, justamente com a finalidade de sincronização. Não precisa ter, necessariamente, o dispositivo. Dá uma verificada.
And for anyone else interested, here is the Android app.
There are a lot of free ebooks on Amazon, too, if your library doesn't have an e-library or all the ones you like are checked out.
The Amazon Kindle app has a feature called Word Runner that displays the text word by word. I'm not sure if it's what you're looking for, but it should be pretty close.
Came to say that. There are apps on the Play Store that will read .epub (the most common e-reader format), .mobi (Kindle's format), and almost any other e-book file type. As far as apps, there's the Kindle app, of course, and I use the Aldiko app on my tablet to read e-books of all stripes.
Kindle. It's not the best reader, but it has one killer feature: sync. It can keep your place among tablets, phones, and Kindles. It will even sync personal documents, including any book (regardless of source) by simply sending it to a free Kindle email address.
You should be able to view it on your phone and desktop as well. Here is a link to the Android application of the Kindle application: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.amazon.kindle&hl=en
I don't know if you have it already, but if not, use this app. It's the official Amazon Kindle app, and you can read pretty much anything from your Kindle library on your phone.
I've seen a lot of must haves covered already, so I'll go in depth. These are the apps any student should have:

If your chromebook has android apps there's this:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.amazon.kindle
I use mine for school and work, mostly.

Some more not on my phone:
You can get the kindle app for pretty much all platforms.
There is a Kindle Reader app available form play.google.com. Its free. It runs on every Android I've ever owned. It syncs with your Amazon account and can download any ebooks you've ever purchased. You can have it installed on multiple devices. When you purchase new ebooks you can choose which device to initially push the ebook to, but you can still download it on all of your other devices. Kindle App
There is also a Kindle plugin available for the Google Chome web browser that, like the Kindle App, gives you access to your Kindle books. Further, the kindle apps and the browser plugins sync between devices so you can pick up where you left off no matter what device you're reading on. Chrome Kindle Plugin
There is a Nook app. I don't have any experience with it, but I'd imagine its similar to the Kindle App. Nook Reader App
There is also an app called Overdrive that lets you check out ebooks from your local library. Overdrive App
I only mention this next bit to warn you off of it. Amazon has something called the Amazon Prime Lending Library. This is different than the Overdrive library mentioned above. If you have Amazon Prime and own a Kindle (this only works on Kindles), you can borrow any Amazon ebook that bears the 'Prime' tag. The ebook has to be part of the Prime. The real book may be part of Prime, but that isn't enough. The ebook has to have the Prime tag on it and there aren't that many of them. At least not ones that you'd want to read. The selection is pretty rotten. It's nearly all crap. If the book is good or even just popular, its not on the list. You like Steinbeck? Graham Greene? Anne Rice? Mary Shelly? Tom Clancy? John Grisham? Clive Cussler? Jim Butcher? Don Pendelton? None of them are in the Amazon Prime Lending Library. You know what is in the APLL? Self published crap and books so bad that nobody would pay for them. Basically, don't rush out and get a Kindle and Amazon Prime thinking that you're going to get any use out of this program.
You can make Amazon accounts for free and download all of the free books on Amazon, which change regularly, onto whichever device you use with the Kindle App on iPhone or Android.
You can actually browse the website on your computer and tell it to download the book onto your device when you open the app again so long as you are logged into the same account.
You can even search organized with the price lowest to highest and every free book in whichever category you are looking for will come up first.
For those of you who don't have an actual Kindle, don't fear!
You do not need a Amazon Kindle appliance to view and read Kindle books:
1) Kindle Cloud Reader is a website https://read.amazon.com/
2) IOS or Android apps
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/amazon-kindle/id302584613
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.amazon.kindle&hl=en_US
Amazon Kindle app does this! link to playstore
I used to always have a paperback sticking out of my pocket. Thats no longer necessary.
iOS, Android och om man är lagd åt det hållet, Windows Phone
amazon had the biggest range that was pre loaded on a lot of devices https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.amazon.kindle&hl=en
I believe the Kindle app will read them.
For Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.amazon.kindle
For iOS: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/amazon-kindle/id302584613
For Windows Mobile: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/amazon-kindle/9wzdncrfj2jf
For PC: https://download.cnet.com/Kindle-for-PC/3001-2125_4-75185974.html
For Mac: https://download.cnet.com/Amazon-Kindle/3001-20412_4-75165421.html
So you have something like this right now
https://i.ytimg.com/vi/00tmliWHDZw/maxresdefault.jpg
and you'd like to be like this https://cdn.slashgear.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Kindle-Navigation-Bar-2.jpg ?
which is similar to current Kindle app design https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.amazon.kindle&hl=sr&gl=US
I don't think it's possible, current Kindle app requires android 5.0, and your Fire hd is stuck on 4.1 version.
The app should be free. This one seems to be at least:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.amazon.kindle&hl=en\_US&gl=US
You should be able to download it through the Amazon Kindle reader app - you can see it here https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.amazon.kindle&hl=en. Are you using it by any chance?
Hey there!
Thanks for this post, it is really useful to see what other fellow ePads users are enjoying. The apps that I use the most are:
Amazon Kindle Reader - the version that we have out of the box seems to be really optimised for our ePad and also it does not consume much battery at all
Feedly - this is probably a competitor to pocket? RSS reader which in my experience works better in light mode compared to dark mode
GoodReads - to look up new books and save my want-to-read books
Note app - am still using the out of the box one, but I really need to find an alternative for two reasons: there is no handwriting recognition and it crashes all the time (with data loss of course!)
I don't do browsing on the ePad, I find it cumbersome to scroll pages with the slow refresh of the screen (but it might just be me!)
Let's hear form the others!

Use the Kindle App instead?
I'm not talking browser, I'm talking downloadable Kindle app. Isn't that an Android device?

If I remember correctly, Amazon Kindle can read PDF files and to my knowledge has an integrated dictionary.

I'm not really sure what you're saying here.
Are you saying that the Kindle App is not available on all platforms? Because you're wrong.
Iphone - Android - Mac - PC - Browser
Because you seem to be deviating into hardware here, which is irrelevant to your point above about using Kindle Apps on non-Kindle devices. No hardware is REALLY different from any other--an iphone is like an android with a different dress on. A kindle is like a Nook with different shoes. They're all similar.
