Have you tried Dumpster? It works just like any computer's trash bin. If Recuva doesn't work, give this one a try. If Dumpster manages to get back Snapchat's data, it will probably be encrypted, but the key has already been cracked, and there are tools out there that will let you fix this with ease. Here are more informations.
general Reddit tip: summarize the question in the title - that way more people who might know the answer will see the question instead of just scrolling by.
it may depend greatly on how you deleted the video.
there are some undelete apps - but I have never used them.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.baloota.dumpster&hl=en_US&gl=US
there are also numerous sites and guides on undeleting stuff on Android. Again, a lot depends on the specifics of how you deleted the file, and if it was on an SD card or not.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.baloota.dumpster Try this or undelete. But if those couldn't recover anything..... There is a thumbnail folder inside DICM that keeps most of your pictures I low resolution in there good luck.
try Dumpster app, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.baloota.dumpster&hl=en
the last update says it can find file even before installation. (Deep Scan Recover tab). ive been using this app over the years ,its great
The only dumpster app I was able to find is this, which sole purpose is to undelete items. If he deleted them, he would've had to undelete them by selecting them and clicking the button to restore them (doesn't restore on its own).
I tested it, and it shows the date & time an item was restored; the name of the file I tried it with was a timestamp of when it was taken, but the modified date was from when I restored it.
You should send him this.
I'd still recommend using a file explorer from the Play Store to try to locate them. If that doesn't work, try using a data recovery tool like this one:

You can now get the delete files easily and the best part is, no root required to run this app and have many other features to secure your precious data. You can now download Dumpster Image & Video Restore for Android 1.1.113.2905 from the Google Play https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.baloota.dumpster&hl=en

That's no advantage because there are other ways to prevent that without systemizing the apps in my case I use https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.baloota.dumpster&hl=pt_PT it automatically backups any deleted or updated app or file.
If it was on your SD card, you can use something like DiskDigger on your computer to restore them, but that isn't a guarantee that the mp3s won't be screwed up/glitchy. If it was on your internal storage, it's possible with root, but I know the S6 Edge doesn't have root.
If you make a habit of deleting things on your phone that you don't mean to, may I suggest the Dumpster app (essentially the "Recycle Bin" on your computer, so you can undelete things). Or you know, you could just backup your files.
Those programs more than likely will not work. Was the phone logged into a Google account? If so the photos might have been synced to the Picasa or Google Drive. If not, then I'm afraid you're out of luck, always back up your phone, or even install this app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.baloota.dumpster) for future use. It essentially works like a recycling bin that you would see on a Windows PC.
No. You don't need root. May apps na pwede like this pero prob is baka nag save na ng ibang files sa storage and nagamit na yung blocks.
Hey,
Download Dumpster it helps recover deleted photos and videos.

After you solve the immediate problem, install the free version of Dumpster or similar. Dumpster is a recycle-bin app which automatically keeps copies of most files you delete from your device.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.baloota.dumpster&hl=en Try this app. It claims to work without root. I doubt it could do anything, but the reviews seem positive, and it's worth a shot.
If you didn't find my other advise helpful from my reply to comments, maybe take a look at this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.baloota.dumpster&hl=en&referrer=utm_source%3Dgoogle%26utm_medium%3Dorganic%26utm_term%3Drecover+deleted+file+android&pcampaignid=APPU_1xvQVIPqD4H-gwTou4GgAw
Edit: it seems decently rated, but this may be a last resort type thing, if any of the other ideas don't work.
First I would advise not writing anymore files onto the memory as it might overwrite the deleted files and render them unrecoverable. With that said you can try one of the Undelete apps on the play store to recover your files, if your not rooted you can use this one. Do not save the recovered files back onto the phone, save them onto a sdcard with a otg cable or upload them to the cloud. Good luck!
Download a app called dumpster it will retrieve your photos playstore link here.

I assume you don't mean the basic shit everyone has like email, maps, facebook, snapchat, etc. You mean the stuff you have to go out of the way for.

There are also some Android apps, which can restore deleted files, e.g. Dumpster Image and Video Restore.
Please up vote so people can see this. After watching the video I saw at then end the cop was asking for the phone... In my head I just pictured him immediately smashing it or some crud to try and get rid of the video.. Found this app (android) that I've tried in the last few mins and has recovered the photos I've deleted, might be helpful in a situation like this if you show the cop you deleting the video, the app works in the background so it won't say anything like HEY I SAVED THE VIDEO YOU JUST DELETED https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.baloota.dumpster
