>When you create a setup on SL5, do you use icons from different icon packs? Do you find alternatives of the icons inside the same pack?
Yes. Sometimes it is useful to try different icon packs for a coherent and consistent (shape) experience.
>Do you usually use the suggested icons or you find them inside the icon packs / your files?
Suggested icons sometimes help know what icon packs might have an icon for an app, but they don't always help (e.g. different versions of an app).
>What logic do you follow when you try to modify some single icons?
Look around in icon packs to find the prettiest icon that looks like the original or could fit as a replacement.
>What do you find frustrating in the actual design?
>
>There are some unsatisfied need from you in the actual design?
Universal search is badly needed, I want to search all my icon packs for the same phrase. Right now I'm using an app called Iconzy for that (try it out on FAB > Search icons).
Also I would want more flexibility for adaptive icons:
Add an extra page to your home screen, that will fix the overlapping issue.
then, install this icon set. After that you will need to install Kustom Icon Plugin, and using that, select the icons you want. the app will give you a code to copy/paste into KLWP in replacement of OP's icons.
Is working for me!
Iconzy is what I use.
I think it's mainly an icon saver and has a plugin to use icons on KWLP/KWGT but you could use it to browse icon packs.
oh you're right, I forgot you could change what shows in the pop-up menu.
and I know all about changing icons. what I meant that you can skip one step by long pressing the pencil icon instead of just tapping on it and then tapping on the icon itself.
also, you can long press the icon pack's name on that list you mention, and it'll bring you directly to the icon pack's search section. you can even supercharge it by installing Iconzy, which shows up on the icon pack list, and if you long press on it, you get to search through all the icon packs, or just one of them, or a few selected ones.
Seems you figured it out for those that do show up in the Pick Image menu.
For those that don't you can use Kustom Icon Plugin
But icons used with this apporach wont be ported over on a export/import to new device, you'd need to share the KustomIcons folder as well.
Since the icons I used weren't on the play store I had to add them individually as images over the existing icons in the preset. If you want to add an icon pack from the Play Store I recommend using Kustom Icon Plugin.
Hey! I'm glad that you like it. Inserting the icons was a bit tricky. You need another app called Iconzy (I will post the link at the end). It allows us to save icon packs to storage. It generates a bitmap formula for each icon that we can use in the formula section of image module. It is even integrated into kustom as a sort of plugin once you install it. I hope you understand.
Iconzy:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arun.kustomiconpack
Ok so first of all you'll need an app called Iconzy. After installing it open klwp and click on any one of the globals. Now in the formula editor you'll see the iconzy icon appear on top. Click on it. Now click on the plus icon and select whatever icon you want to use and after selecting it and click on "use with kustom" . Do the same for all of the globals.
Either that or you can remove the formula and select any image on your phone as your icon.
Hey!
I'm running Oreo but have no problem with it. I don't know why this would help, but I suggest you to try this out.
Cheers.
A user reported this happening a few weeks back. I recommended the Iconzy app and it worked for them. Google Play Link. Try it out and see if it helps!
Cheers.
If it's an apk you install it. In some cases it might have support to be picked directly in KLWP.
If it does not or are just images you need to use Kustom Icon Plugin
What about https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arun.kustomiconpack&hl=en Kustom Icon Plugin - Android Apps on Google Play
That way you won't need to extract each individual icon and save energy trying to make it all work properly.
That'll be changing the "Music Art" item in the root tab. Under the FX options pick another art to be the default bitmap. :)
Sorry it wasn't clear/badly named.
You'll have to change the icons yourself. I used an icon pack (Min icons) for them using Kustom icon plugin .
For custom icons, you can use this app to extract icons from installed icon packs. It worked well the times I've tried it.
For the nova app drawer, you could do a nova shortcut (as a launcher icon instead of inside klwp) that only shows up on that screen, and try to match animation styles between nova and klwp.
Since you're probably using pages for the sliding, they could all be nova icons that are placed on those pages. That would simplify animation matching, and mean you can use Nova's icon selection instead of trying to force them into klwp.
So if it does not show the icon pack it means that the icon pack is not exporting the icons BUT you can check out this great plugin that does exactly that.
If instead when you are back from picking an image the editor looks like if it was restarted then its a bug that happens on low memory a reboot should fix, i am working on it.
Are you talking about the icon fonts? If so, you're going to have to find a compatible icon font to use, which Min is not.
However, if you would really like to use Min, then you can use the Kustom Icon Plugin to use with Kustom.
Either you download the icons and set them individually as images or you can use a icon pack of your stock system (for example Android 6) and can use the Kustom Icon Plugin to select them from the icon pack.
Try this. Open the app, select the iconpack, select the icon you want as image and it will be saved. Then you can browse it with gallery
Heres thw fixxed link https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arun.kustomiconpack
Make sure you are following the steps at 6:46 of the video for images. This is because the icons I used are not images which means if you want to change them to an image it won't work unless you actually add a new object that is an image as explained at 6:46 of the video. Hope this helps.
Here is the app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arun.kustomiconpack&hl=en
Message me if you need help using it, but baisically when you generate the icon you want to use it will save a "formula" into your clipboard. All you have to do after doing that is open kustom, go to where you would select image and click the checkmark, select the calculator and post this. If you need me to make a video/gif showing this process I can. Good Luck!
There are various tools that you can use to extract an icon from an icon pack (Iconzy, Themex, etc) and save it as a PNG. You don't even really need to extract the icon you want to use as a base first; it just makes things quicker and easier IMO.
Then, if your laincher allows editing icons, it is a simple matter to use IPS to apply the icon you saved and make any customizations that IPS allows.
In Nova, the steps are as follows...
Once you've selected the icon of your choice, use IPS in the normal manner to customize the icon.
It's slightly cumbersome at first. But once you've done it a couple of times, it becomes pretty easy to do.
long instructions incoming
firstly you are gonna wanna download an app called 'Iconzy'
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arun.kustomiconpack&hl=en_IN&gl=US
second, u are gonna take an icon pack (any icon pack) and extract some of it's icons using Iconzy
once you have extracted the icons, u will have to transfer them to a pc/laptop.
from there you can use any image editing app (i use paint.net) to change the colors
after that you can then transfer the edited icons back to your phone.
now in order to use these icons, you will have to make a custom KWGT skin.
in kwgt, when u create a skin, there'll be an option to add an image.
you will add an image and choose one of your edited icons as the image.
you can then in 'touch', choose the corresponding app.
and that's it lol, it might sound difficult at first, but once u do it a few times, it'll become easy
You can use Iconzy to create an app shortcut with a custom label/name.
This is the app that I used to use custom icon packs prior to the GoodLock update that added support for icon packs.
Not sure if this helps but worth a shot. You can extract any Icon on the device then run it through an Image Editor to reformat it.
ICONZY.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arun.kustomiconpack
IMAGE EDITOR.
My Favourite.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.iudesk.android.photo.editor
> they don't offer a search function when you want to change individual icons, which is quite annoying.
Here you go. It's not FOSS but gets the job done and works with almost every launcher and icon pack I've ever used.
I've been using this to change my home screen icons......
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arun.kustomiconpack
Not bad. I would like the stock launcher to have the already there ability to do it but meh.
Use Iconzy and create widgets that launch the apps you want on the second screen rather than shortcuts...you can use custom icon packs then.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arun.kustomiconpack
Basically they’re shortcut widgets
Little trick here One ui homescreen set to app drawer Remove all the apps from home screen pages Install Iconzy
Open widgets on homescreen and select icon shortcut on iconzy Choose any app and pick any icon from icon packs and create the shortcut on homescreen
That seems to be a problem. With the icon pack downloaded it shouldn't have been a problem. 🤔 Hmm...
Let's do one long tweaking.
Download Iconzy
Open KLWP editor and go to the "All Apps" group in Items.
There will be a bunch of Shapes in there, click one of them and go to FX section.
Below texture you will find "Bitmap" tap on it and you will be shown a Formula Editor.
Delete everything in the formula editor and click on the 4th icon from the right on the top bar, this is a shortcut for Iconzy app you installed in step 1.
Click the + floating button and select any of the three methods to find an icon you are looking for.
Pick that icon and it should load in the main page of Iconzy.
Tap that recently picked icon and select "Use with Kustom".
This should load the formula of the bitmap into the Formula Editor.
Press the check button in the top right corner and it should load the icon for you.
Follow steps 3 to 10 for other Shapes as well.
Good luck, let me know if you get stuck somewhere. Cheers! ✌️✌️
Use this app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arun.kustomiconpack
If you want the same icons, just select icons from Compacticon Icon pack inside the app
If you want to have different icons:
Inside the app choose the icons from the icon pack you want, tap on it and select "Use with Kustom" then inside KWLP app paste the path to the formula at the bitmap of the image you want to have that icon you choose.
Hope that help:)
Fonticons and Icon packs on the Play Store are different things.
Fonticons are a collection of vector icons, which allows them to be resized to whatever size without losing quality. You can change the whole icon to one colour. However, you can't have them be multi coloured.
Icon packs on the Play Store are collections of rasterzied pictures, usually of 192x192 pixels. They don't look well when enlarged too big, but you won't really make them that big on your setups anyways. You can have lots of colours in them though.
Coming to the point:
To use Fonticons, you need a .json and a .ttf files of the fonticons. Rename them so that they have the same name and move them into the Icons folder of the Kustom folder.
To use Icon Packs, you can place an image item in a your setup and tap on select image, and scroll down to your icon pack from the sidebar. If you want easier access to all your Play Store icon packs, install an app called Iconzy. To use it, scroll to Iconzy in the sidebar instead of the icon packs themselves.
P.S: If I've written something wrong or missed something, reply to this.
Cheers!
There is a workaround to this: Simple way would be to search for a transparent PNG online and use that.
Or if you want to use icons from your installed packs...
Using iconzy. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arun.kustomiconpack
•Search for the icon you want (e.g.tasks), this will display all icons from your installed icon packs with that name. •When you find the icon you like, press the + button to add to your collection. •In your collection, long press the icon & choose "share" from the pop up menu, save to an easy to find location •Rename the exported file & add ext ".png" •You can then use that png in IPS when single editing, just choose "from file" in the design option.
Might sound a bit long winded but it takes less than a minute.
Iconzy - Icon Pack Utilites + KLWP Plugin | 4.2 rating | Free with IAP | 50,000+ downloads | Search manually
> ⚡ Iconzy is an advanced icon pack utility for Android ⚡ Iconzy sets to solve two problems with icon packs. There is no universal search and it takes time to go through all matching icons for a particular ...
To use me, type linkme: AppName. Seperate each search by a comma.
Please help me by private messaging me any feedbacks.
You need to use it one by one, you need to put an image, and when you choose the option to put the image that you want, you can choose the icon pack and select the icon that you want.
You have Iconzy too ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arun.kustomiconpack&hl ) this app are going to select all the icons that you have for a selected app, I don't use it no more because every time you actualize an icon pack, Iconzy actualize the icons too.
You can use an app named Iconzy to load the desired icons. After that, add an image in KLWP, and change the bitmap to a formula. In the formula screen, there will be a green down-arrow like button, if you tap on it, you can select an icon to load into KLWP. Then go back and set the filter to 'Colorize'. A color option will pop up, where you can set any color (or link it to a color global).
Hope you understand, sorry for the shitty english tho! :D
What a bizarre and difficult way to use Compactions.
You can download the APK and use is as an icon pack (although you need Iconzy to browse it from KLWP or just download the PNGs themselves.
So you'd like to add an extra row of icons?
All you need to do is add an extra stack group to the existing stack group of rows called 'apps'. Then add the three images (size is 60) and for each pick the image you want from Compacticons. Lastly for each image change the filter setting to' colourise' then select (using the tick box) the colour setting that appears and switch it to a global variable using the globe icon top right and select the global 'main'.
The trick here is that Compacticons isn't a full functioning icon pack app so you won't be able to see the icon pack in KLWP. You'll need another app called Iconzy and select Search Icons - Iconzy when you open the file browser using 'pick image'. You can filter icons by pack in Iconzy and search for what you want.
You have to import the icon as an image (Iconzy is perfect for extracting images from icon packs). Once you add the image in KLWP, set the filter on it to Colorize and select your color and you're good to go. Needless to say, it works best with icons that are only a single color.
Install Iconzy
Select Iconzy on the left after clicking pick image
Search for the icon you want i.e. "phone' and tap on ALL in the search bar and select Compactions there.
Also, just a suggestion, ~~but you might want to add a link in the FAQ about iconzy, that way if people want to pull icons from a pack to use in the themes it'll help out a lot :D unless of course I'm missing a way to do it without needed a plugin :p~~
Edit: for anyone else reading this, I totally missed the section of the FAQ that details exactly how to do this :p checkout the comment below for another explanation :D
Do you mind answering a couple of questions?
What font do you use for your clock widget?
How do you make icon fonts? I tried using this website (https://icomoon.io/) and extract the icons I want by using this app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arun.kustomiconpack). It seems the images I can extract from my android device is just jpeg, and to convert to font I need SVG. Do I need photoshop or something else?
I really like your theme overall! It's clean and pleasing to look at!
This app is used to take the images from icon packs and use them in KLWP
But you still have to add each one and assign it individually
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arun.kustomiconpack
Try Iconzy, Makes finding the right icon much easier.
Also check out adapticons
Not exactly what you are looking for, but Iconzy does show all icons for a particular app among all installed icon packs.
If you dont like the default from the icon pack, edit the icon in Nova, select Iconzy from the icon pack list and type in the app name. It will show that app icon from amongst all your icon packs.
Im not sure you would ever find what you are wanting since most icon packs wrap a nonstylized icon in a default template.
So if you want to add icons in from another app you're going to need Kustom Icon Plugin, basically instead of attaching an image, you're pasting a formula this app provides in the formula box instead.
As for the phone app you probably just need to re-add it.
Kustom can be rather confusing at first I know, believe it or not this is actually my first attempt at a theme using this app. I can't imagine how I would go about making one from scratch!
I used my app Kustom Icon Plugin https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arun.kustomiconpack
To save icon pack icons as bitmap image in SD card. Then in the autonotification icon field gave absolute path to this icon in SD card.
This particular icon is from KMZ icon pack.
For me it just shows up as an option without having to do anything special. If that's not the case I think you need to use the Kustom Icon Plugin.
If the icon pack does not export its icons (i.e. if you cannot find them when picking an image) you will have to use this free plugin
Problem is that the original mapped icons with a plugin app to map some icons, so likely those icons are not found and for some reason KLWP is slowing down
If an icon pack doesn't show up it means that the icon pack is not exporting the icons via a standard content provider, this is nothing i can fix BUT you can check out this great plugin by /u/arunkumar9t2
You can use widgets in the docker in Nova so you can use KWGT if you want. If you need real app icons the best thing you can do now is use this plugin:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arun.kustomiconpack
it gets better. if you install Iconzy and open it the same way, you'll be able to search through all icon packs at once!
Sure! This is a KWGT widget, i added icons with Iconzy and rotated them
Actually, you don't even need a rooted phone. There's an app called Iconzy that exists for this express purpose.
Get iconzy I use it for just about all my custom themes
Made entirely in KLWP including icon posiitoning. I used Iconzy (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arun.kustomiconpack) to select the individual images from the icon pack to use in KLWP
Icons: Material Things (there's a free version but I'm using the paid version). https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.natewren.materialthings
Weather Icons: Modart (customized in the settings for particular colors) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=modartweatherforklwpkwgt.kustom.pack
The paint effect I used RFX Splatz (https://www.dafont.com/rfx-splatz.font) and Splatter (https://www.dafont.com/splatter.font) in an overlap group. This part took me awhile to get just right as to how I wanted the splatter effect behind the icons in KLWP.
Weather Font: Paintdrips (http://www.fontspace.com/renn-crump/paintdrips)
Wallpaper is just solid color #FF232323 in KLWP background options.
Here is the file.
Just some notes on the blue circle button.
-For the apps and Keep pages I used Kustom Icon Plugin. It lets you use icons from other packs with KLWP. I used the Min icon pack.
-For the calander page, I used this. It lets you set a shortcut for creating new calendar events.
First, please download the latest version.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0ttejgnpvFibThXTEdWdGxMOUk/view?usp=docslist_api
Also, I forgot to include the icon folder. I didn't realize where it was. Unzip this and put it on your main folder (it should be right next to your main kustom folder if done right) ( should see /kustomicons/icons/ )
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0ttejgnpvFiYVExLUN1TGlsTHc/view?usp=docslist_api
I used the following plugin to convert the icons.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arun.kustomiconpack
I really like quickpage & quickdrawer. Resizing widget on quickpage is still little bit buggy. I had to restart AL several times during set up process.
Icon suggestion page of AL is more useful. Nova launcher doesn't show all available icons on first page. If you are using multiple icon packs, it is easy and quick to compare/choose icons in AL. (Btw you can use Iconzy and use it with Nova launcher to comoare/choose icons from multiple icon packs)
Home button tripple tap option. (AL settings > gestures & actions) is also useful.
> The only thing I wish it had that Nova has is app icon gesture shortcuts.
Spot on! I hope developer will add it in future. I know It has that shutter feature for widgets, but personally Shortcuts are more useful for me.
I like quicktheme. But It doesn't allow user to choose custom colours. (Apart from 6-7 colours that are extracted from Wallpaper). In Nova you can choose custom colours for App drawer, folder, dock etc.
Overall I am happy with Nova and Action launcher. I needed a change and AL is pretty good.
Iconzy is useful - search all icon packs at once and create pngs out of them.
This app, Iconzy, was literally made for Kustom ;)
Would absolutely recommend, does its job great.
You can do this only on the stock launcher home screen (not in the app drawer) by creating shortcuts with apps like Iconzy.
Or you can use and app like Iconzy
I just launched an app last week.
Yes, supports Oreo, see instructions within the app.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arun.kustomiconpack
You can do that with this free plugin
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arun.kustomiconpack Kustom Icon Plugin homie.
Iconzy will let you extract icons from icon packs as .png files, you could then use that in Tasker.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arun.kustomiconpack
This should do the trick
Seems like you're just trying to pick image? If your plan is to pick image/icon from an icon pack then you should try - Iconzy
I did not build it from scratch myself. I started with the KLWP posted in the androidtheme subreddit: theme_slide_from_the_right
Modified it to fit the fold's inner display screen and stripped out the extra items which I did not want. I am starting to add the items that I want.
For the icons I used Iconzy to export the icons I wanted form the Whicons icon pack.
I am just starting to learn how to use KLWP so I found it easier to find a package posted by someone else which has elements I like and learn from there how it is made.
Here is an export of my current build: z_fold_testv2.
Don't really understand your question but this might help: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arun.kustomiconpack
Also another app that makes things way easier
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arun.kustomiconpack
So you can pull the image from an icon pack for use with klwp or kwgt
You can use <strong>Iconzy</strong>
It's not a launcher, but...
Iconzy - Compatible https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arun.kustomiconpack
Hello everyone! This is my first theme I feel confident in sharing. I cant make it public quite yet as Im using a few apps along-side this but I plan to consolidate it to publish it! Im using the app Iconzy on my apps to have them better line up with my vault, and the Lines icon pack for them. My wallpaper is this on put in negative. I also have a few things set up through tasker for the messages but I can put all that in KLWP as soon as I get some time. If anyone has any ideas or questions let me know!
You can get icons from APKs using the Iconzy app.
Hi, install this app and be ready to start magic 😉
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arun.kustomiconpack
Someone told me you can do it with an app called Iconzy. No root needed. But I have not tried it myself.
You can try Iconzy
That's because I was way off on the app name, my bad, it's Iconzy: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arun.kustomiconpack&hl=en
Then its likely an issue with either ThemeX or Moonshine, you can try with this plugin instead
